The farm had come a long ways these last few months. They hadn't had a death in a while, the walkers were starting to become less of an issue. No sign of the raiders since the encounter with Bethany and Amber. It had been peaceful. The numbers had grown quite steadily, a few here and a few there. The people all turned out to be good, helped out where they could, followed orders the best they could.
It had been four months since the farm had found Matt and Josie. The two really becoming an asset to the farm, helping with runs and guard duty. They were now some of the most trusted members on the farm, always there to help. Yameki came next, three months before today. He didn't speak the best English, but was often the face people saw when they were brought to the farm. He liked to pick up spirits, and was good at it. Trey had stumbled across the farm two months ago. He was a recognizable face, and got to work right away helping out where. He could, mobvious henwas grateful for the help. A month back a larger group had been added, the two most noticeable members Darwin and his sister Maxine. They were young, but had energy. Energy and fire the farm needed.
There had been a few others that had came to be amoungst their ranks and bunks. The barn was crowded, people crammed in corner and practically on top of one another. They would need more room, either expand a certain way or they would need some place new. Max and Amber had already began this planning, sending out scouts to search further locations that they could move to safely.
With everyone running around, the farm was missing, missing it's key members. Max, Abby, Amber, Brian, and Dean were all away. They had been for a few weeks, Amber running. Back and forth in the old pickup truck. They were preparing, preparing for the birth of Max and Abby's child. It came to no surprise to no one on the farm, Abby was due, roughly nine months had gone by since the farm first started, and the baby was coming soon. The soon to be parents had been away, a few days now, hold up in a hospital back in Releigh. Sarah and Thaddeus were left in charge.
The farm was quiet this morning, no walkers along the walls, people still asleep or just waking up. It was a good morning, snow melting in spots, though still chilly in the air. With the baby on the horizon, it needed to be good.
