Matt stayed on the ground, he did hear how Yameki yelled and protected him, followed by Sarah who also yelled. After laying there for awhile, he felt how his sweet friend softly rubbed his back. Matt slowly got to his knees, but stayed on that height and grabbed Yameki his hand. “Thanks.” He said trying to smile, but the pain was still there. “Together we are strong.” He added looking at Yameki and then to Sam. Meanwhile Sarah was talking to the raider, but Matt his mind was still a bit blurry, so he wasn’t focused at all and didn’t hear a thing form what was going on.
For now Matt let it all pass, while he looked down, still holding Yameki his hand. Even as weak as he was, if anyone tried to hurt anyone else of his close friend or even on the farm, he would do it all again. Matt didn’t had a death wish, but he always stood up for his friends, his people, the only reason he didn’t get back up to fight, was that the men, that outgunned them could kill anyone who they want, including all the people he loved. So yeah for now he stayed down ignoring most of the conversations, because there wasn’t anything he could do, not without getting someone else or himself killed.
Sarah was appalled. He wanted 10 of them to step forward as some kind of sacrafice. She stared at the man and then glanced at Thad as he spoke. There was no reason for it, he was right.
Sarah also saw that this man was out of his mind. She wouldn't let him kill her people. She was part of the few in charge. Honestly, without Amber, Max and Abby, it fell on her. She didn't hesitate. She stepped forward. She wasn't going to let him shoot anyone, this was crazy. He had made them drop their guns. But there were other weapons, and he had weapons on him. If she could get close enough.
Sarah volunteered. She stepped forward again, getting closer to him. She just needed to get close enough to him. If she cut off the head of the snake, the body would die, right?

Yameki felt Sam's arms come around him, and Matt grabbed his hand. He gave it a reassuring squeeze, and with his free hand, he latched onto Sam's. Their bond gave him comfort, and Sam's words echoed in his ears. He was frightened by Kennedy's voice, but as he honed in on Sam's words, he let his eyes fall to the ground and bit his lip. They were meant to be sweet and reassuring, he knew, but it dredged up dark memories. The night of the outbreak, when they were fighting to escape the city, Jimmy had told him the same thing. Just look away. Just keep your eyes down. It'll all be over soon. We're safe if we have each other. He had been meek and afraid then, just as he was now. Always protected, always guarded.
Matt said that they were strong together, and Yameki felt that to be true. He had come to love his home here, love the people that took residence beside him. They worked as a unit, working hard to keep the farm standing, to do more than just survive. It was exactly what Jimmy had wanted for him, what he had made him promise before his death. To live. Not just to survive, but to live. These raiders had compromised the best shot he had, and he realized that he was probably going to die here. Even if he didn't, his life would become more shambled than ever. He would let Jimmy down.
Hopelessness sprung inside of him, but shock replaced it at the commander's words. Kill ten people? Yameki's eyes widened, and the tears that had raced down his cheek slowly began to dry. He must have misheard him. Why would such an order be necessary? They had given up. They had surrendered. But as he looked to the leaders, the grimness of their frowns, he knew that he had heard correctly. There was no good way out of this. They were cruel people, intent on hurting them no matter what. People were being called to die, ten, or else he would kill at random. Yameki froze in his spot on the ground, his grip tightening on his friends in terror. He looked between them, looked for Jack, and let his eyes trail over each of the faces he had come to know as friends. Even if they survived this somehow, even if they managed to pull through, the type of life they would be living would be hollow and haunted, and Yameki didn't think he could take it. It wasn't the type of life that he wanted to live. It wasn't the type of life that Jimmy would want him to live.
His grip on his friends slowly loosened as Sarah stepped forward to sacrifice herself, and with every step, resolve settled in his heart. She had helped him with his English when he first arrived, and her kindness helped him speak again, helped him trust again. She was strong and brave, protecting them all in their time of need. Sam and Matt had jumped to his defense, protected him as they always had. But for once, it was time that he protected them. Surely, Jimmy could forgive him.
He squeezed Matt's hand one last time before letting it go. He turned to Sam and held him, holding him for a moment before he pulled away from his grasp. He let out a small smile, the most he could muster, and in his drying eyes, there was a fire, the same one that had ignited once they met him all those months ago. "You're right. Together we are strong. Thank you."
He pushed himself off of the grass and gathered his courage. He ignored the guns that trained on him as he stood and moved across the grass, past the other frightened residents. He crossed the yard and moved to Sarah's side with determined steps, catching her hand as she stepped closer to the villain. He shook his head at her slowly, as if willing her to stay with him, and stood his ground. If she wanted to pull away from him, she could, but he felt uneasy as she approached him. He gave her hand a soft squeeze, as if to let her know she wasn't alone, and stared into Kennedy's eyes with a heavy gaze.

They wanted people to volunteer. Sam held Yameki tighter, he couldn't go. It wouldn't be them. They had been through to much, Yameki had been through to much. From what he told him Yameki needed to keep going. He had lost so much, so little time. Sam felt sorry for him most days, he could see the pain in his eyes, hidden behind a smile.
Sam watched as Sarah went forward. Since the far had started, he had seen her. He had been one of the people to rescue her from the junkyard. Since the walls were put up, he had known her, who she was. Seeing her with Charles, Alone, and now with Thadd. He didn't want her to go, but she had to. If she didn't, then they would pick someone else.
But Yameki let go of his hand, pulled away. Sam stared in shock, watched him walk forward, join Sarah by her side, he was going to sacrifice himself. He couldn't not him. Why did he have to be a hero, why did he have to risk himself. Yameki was a kind soul, he didn't need to do this, not now. Sam felt tears in his eyes. He couldn't loose Yam. He had became his best friend, he couldn't loose him.
Sam pushed himself off the ground, away from Matt. He moved to Yameki took his other hand. He gave it a squeeze. He looked over to Yameki, into his eyes. "If you're doing this, I am too. I can't loose you, we do it together....together," Sam said, repeating the last word so Yam knew what he meant. He smiled, "always together."
They were going to die, this is it. It's over. Sam couldn't stop thinking about Yameki, what they could never do now that they would be dead. He tried to fight back the tears but he felt them fall from his face, he had to do soemthing, had to. He brought his hand to Yameki's cheek and pulled his face close to his. Then Sam pressed his lips agaisnt Yameki's, softly, sensually. He leaned and broke it quickly, blush filling his cheeks, making them pink and red. He looked to the ground.
It felt right, he had to do it. He was going to die, he wouldn't get the chance later. Sam smiled and squeezed his hand again. Together, always together.
Becky didn't know what was gong on. She was moved around, grouped together. She saw the faces she knew, Thadd, Matt, Sam. All were defeated, all were done. There was no way they were getting out of this, no way the raiders wouldn't win. She felt the need to cry, to just break down. She sunk to her knees, and cried, cried again. She couldn't do anyhing.
Her mind flashed back to behind the barn. The gun in her hand. She was going to do it,mshould have done it. But she was to scared to die, was to scared now. She leaned over, and it came up, all of it. The entire break fast, yesterday's supper, what ever she drank to get her to sleep. She did the best she could, not to cry, but it didn't work.
She wanted Thadd. He had been her protector, but these last few months, she was alone, helpless. Everyone had someone, had someone to confide in. Her only friend was drifting away, to a new group. Her only love had found someone knew, would sneak in with her every night. Her mistake was gone, left a while back. She had nothing, no one.
A brave face was all she could manage, but not now, she was being forced every which way, a mess. Becky felt the tears fall off her cheeks as she fell to her knees. Everyone was being best, being defeated. From the masses she saw Sarah walk forward. She was going to sacrifice herself. Becky swallowed the lump in her throat.
Yameki went up next, then Sam. She reached out for him. "Sam no," she called out to her friend. But she saw the way he was looking at Yameki, the same way she looked at Thadd, months ago. Then Sam kissed him, kissed Yameki. Becky stared in shock, he was gay. Max had commented about it upon meeting him, but she brushed it off. Maybe that's why he was never a threat, why Thadd never felt threatened by him when she would spend hours alone with him.
Becky found herself standing. She made her way to Sam's side. She didn't say anything, she didn't have anything to loose. She had been on the edge of death once, she was useless here. She needed to do this, for them, for herself.
Jack watched the raiders, eyed them. They were organized, well armed. Military weapons, military gear. They had vehicles and the leader knew what he was doing. He was commanding, clearly they had all done this before. The mention of other settlements caught his attention, why hadn't they heard of it? Why had it all been so hard to find.
Jack didn't know what was going on, he saw them force Yameki out and clenched his fists. Sam acted and they only shoved him back, then Matt was best. Jack did all he could not to go join them, to fight back, he saw where his gun had been dropped, he could get a few shots in, but then he knew he would be gunned down. He would die, if he fought he died. If he resisted he died. If he did nothing, he died.
It was death any way, when the leader asked for volunteers, to take the death for the safety of the farm Jack wanted to volunteer. He looked to Sam, to Matt, and Yameki. He had to go, had to for them. They couldn't die on his watch, he wouldn't let that happen. As he went to step forward Sarah best him to it.
She was going to die for the farm. Jack scanned Thadd, scanned his face. He was hurting, he saw it. Jack looked away, looking back up he saw Yameki going that way, heading for Sarha, Sam behind them. "No," Jack choked out. He was broken. His friends, they were goi to die. Jack couldn't do anything, he couldn't watch his friends die,
Becky stepped forward and Jack looked down. He had to do this. He closed his eyes. The vision of the father he killed, stole the life from their family. It filled his eyes everytime he closed them. Jack blinked to try and make it go away. He had to do this. He had stolen that man's life, killed him, took him from his family. Every action he did, every thing, was to make up for that kill.
Jack stepped forward, just beside Yameki, just behind him and Sarah. He crossed his arms and looked at the leader before them. Jack tried not to shake, tried not to move. But if his friends were dying, so was he. He looked back to Matt. Be brave Matt, be brave. Turning back to Yameki and Sam he smiled at them as they kissed. He saw it coming, saw it these last few months.
Jack smiled, all he could do was wait. His life, for many others, he was ready.

Georgia had been forced from the tower. She was thrown below with the others, gun stripped from her hand. She felt naked with out, without protection. Her mind slipped back to the slavers, the way they would all get her the women, in a group like this. How they would make them strip, what they would do once they had.
She felt sick, sick from the things she had done. She was doing them to survive. She would latch on to the highest power, take any safety that came with it. But right now, she didn't give a shit about safety, these people here, Jack, Becky, Amber, they were her friends. She had to be there for them, as they had for her.
The man who spoke, the leader. He held the power, controlled the room. Georgia couldn't help but smile at him, the way he moved and talked. He was a man, a take charge man. Had he been at the slaver camp, she'd had latched on to him. She had tried with Enio, but he cast her aside. So it was fuck or be killed, she chose fuck to stay alive.
Georgia didn't regret what she did, how could she. She tried to. She as much fun with it, they ignored you that way. Give in and eventually they just go away. She smiled, that's what they should do right now, just give. As they asked for volunteers to take a death she looked away. It was the first time she advertised her eyes from the leader of the raiders.
She felt weak, felt hopeless, she couldn't die, not now, not here. She wouldn't, she had been through to much to just die. One by one people all went up, straight toward the leader. They were all volunteering. She wasn't going to be a coward, stay with the others. She was fighter, and she would make a stand.
She loved beside Becky and folded her arms, "alright, we're all standing around like a bunch off assholes, what next," she said waiting the gunshot to the hesd, or that crowbar in Kennedy's hand to ties its first blow. But it never came, nothing did. She glared at the man, "do something asshole, don't just stand there."
She kept her arms crossed. Glaring. "I thought you wanted volunteers, here we are. So get it over with, kill us, got what you wanted big man, deaths and supplies. Fun times. Just hurry the fuck up. I want to die whole the sun is still out." She grinned, "if I don't get s last meal, how 'bout a kiss. For good luck. At least do something. No one else needs to die, just us, alright fucker?"

Sarah stepped forward. Thadd stared in shock. He got angry, infuriated. Slowly he rose, letting go of Josie and coming to his feet. He was glaring at the man, this leader. He would not hurt Sarah, would not lay a hand on her. He saw Yam move past him, followed by Sam and Becky. None of them would get hurt, not if he could help it.
Thadd was the protector of them, watched over them. He watched them, moved forward, toward Kennedy. His fists were clenched, eyes set in a glared toward the man. He was taking deep breaths, in and out, in and out. Slowly he walked forward and came to stand beside Sarah, with the group. He would not hurt them, they would not hurts his friends.
He looked over at Sarah, and set his eyes on her. "I'm sorry," he said, speaking slowly. He saw Sam kiss Yameki and brought s brief smile to his face before he faded, they were going to die. If Sarah was, the. So was he, he puffed up his chest and turned back to fuck with the crowbar. His fists were still clenched, down by his sides.
Thadd melt his glare, didn't take it away, "you don't need to do this Sarah, none of you do. We don't need you to be heroes." Thadd looked to the ground as he spoke. "But if we're going to die, we die together, all of us. He saw Louis by his side, the usually smiling cook with a solemn expression. Thadd looked up.
"Get it over with. Make it quick, painless, all I ask. Then take what you want and leave. You've broken us enough, we get it. You're the winner, the big guys. Take what you came for, and get out. We don't more blood shed after this." He put an arm around Sarah, more for himself than for her. If they were going to die, this would be the last time he touched her. He wanted to remember this moment.
(Kennedy will be skipped over, and then the killing can commence after the next round of posting )
Darwin watched as people 'volunteered' for what? For death? This was crazy and he didn't want any part of it. He stayed on the ground where he was as he watched the number of people that volunteered and was scanning the area around him for anything he could use. This was sheer lunacy and he wasn't playing.
When he saw Maxine his jaw clenched. She looked scared and she should be. Darwin was too. With her was Ella and a group of this assholes goons that forced the people inside of the house out. He tensed as he got up on his hands and knees and he almost got up and ran at the thugs near her. That would get him killed no doubt right now but what else were they going to do? Let this fucker decide their fate?
What if he charged one of them? One of the ones close to him and tried to wrestle for his gun? Hell, if he could cause enough of a commotion, maybe some of the others would do something instead of opting out this way. Then again, what if no good came of it and it only got him killed?
What if it gets everyone killed?
It was something that weighed heavily on him but what if he killed ten of them and then opted to finish the rest? This was fucking stupid and Darwin wasn't playing. He wasn't looking to win a 'Darwin' award either but he wasn't going to simply let what was happening around them happen. That was bullshit.
What if he tried to go for one of the weapons on the ground that had been discarded? His breathing picked up and he was feeling particularly impulsive. He took stock of the guards that were nearest him as he scanned for anything and saw a small rock which he slowly moved towards and he placed his hand over but stayed on his hands and knees.
Darwin looked to Maxine and when he did, he felt his heart skip a beat. He loved her and would do anything for her. His breathing picked up as his heart started racing as he looked back to this douche bag 'leader' and his group shitheads. Darwin wasn't the praying type but he prayed that some of the group had fight in them. Now he was biding his time for an opportunity because fuck this. If this was going to really happen, he'd rather die on his fuckin' feet.

Matt looked up as he saw how Sarah stepped forward making it clear she volunteered. He didn’t want this and he had to stop her, this wasn’t right. But deep down he knew he couldn’t do shit, which made him sad and angry.
Matt then felt how Yameki squeezed his hand, before slowly letting go. Matt immediately turned his head, to look at him and he heard how Yameki said they were indeed stronger together, before thanking him. Then he watched how his friend stepped forward and stood besides Sarah grabbing her hand. Tears started to ran down his face, he was speechless, would he really lose both of them. “Yam?” he softly spoke, not hearable for anyone.
But before he could do anything he watched how Sam followed, he stood next to Yameki. But then something beautiful happened, Sam expressed his love for Yameki by kissing him, it was bad this special moment was covered in sadness, because Matt still knew he would now lose three of his friends. He couldn’t deal with this, he wouldn’t die as a coward, he wouldn’t let all of his friends die, while he was getting away. He was ready to take a stand, he slowly crawled from the floor as tears kept running down his face.
Becky beat him to it though, she was next to join them. Matt was still shocked with how many lives would just poof away, including his own. But it didn’t stop Jack followed right behind Becky and his eyes locked with Matt his, for a brief second. Matt knew Jack wanted him to be strong, not to join them, but that wasn’t an option anymore. As more tears ran down his face, he slightly smiled at Jack, to let him know he was ok, even though he cried.
Georgia was the next to follow, even though it was sad to see so many people their deaths coming close, Matt thought it was also beautiful, just to see how close everyone was, all of them where ready to die for the rest and Matt would soon join them. He was mentally preparing himself before he would join them, he needed to be ready for death. He heard how Georgia spoke to the leader, she was right. “She is right.” Matt spoke softly. “She is right!” he yelled, as one last tears rolled down his cheek. With that he slowly started to step forward, ready to join his friends.
As he walked he saw Thad also stepping closer, while taking. He told Sarah and the others not to do it, not to be heroes, but he also told them if they would die, it would be together. “Yes exactly.” Matt spoke as he walked over to all of them, standing next to Jack. He softly patted him on the shoulder as he looked at him.
Josie felt herself loosened by Thad as he stood up to join the others, volunteering to be picked off by the raiders. She felt her body aching with pain as she felt back down to the ground. Blood ran from her nose, her busted lip and inside of her as she coughed up another splattering of blood. Her body was already bruising and her eyes swollen and blurred as she looked to Kennedy.
"You are a bunch of fucking cowards." Who she was speaking to was unclear for the pause that was given in her words.
Maybe, if for only a moment, she could get them from holding off killing half the farm she could get them to think. Maybe it would give the others a fighting chance to stop the massacre that seemed so apparent was going to happen. It seemed exhausting to speak, but she wasn't afraid to say them. She may not be able to get up from the ground, but she was trying. Her body struggled to sit up and she feared the raider may have broken a rib or two.
"Yea, kill everyone you need for the farm. Steal half our shit then leave. Then what? You come back for the rest? Smart move. No one to grow crops, no one to jar fruit.." She lifted her head as she looked directly at Kennedy so he could see what had been done to her.
"Take over the farm? You think these idiots of yours can do what these people you're about to slaughter can do?"
She spat again and stayed on the ground as she breathed heavy from the air that was being forced in. Expanding her ribs hurt and it hurt back.
"You're gonna die out here. Without people like us, you'll all die."
The bandit that beat her before came back over to her and grabbed her hair, forcing her head back to look up at Kennedy, fist balled up and ready to knock her out at Kennedy's command. She groaned as her head was forced back figuring this was it for her. Maybe the others could save themselves but she got the words out that she needed to say. She wasn't afraid of them, certainly not after what they did to her family. She killed plenty of his kind before.
Sarah stood there, facing down Kennedy. She was alone, but she wasn't about to give in and just stand there. If someone was going to die for this place, she should be the first. She was the only leader left here at the farm.
Her mind raced. She thought about Abby. Someone would explain it all to her, she knew that Abby still wouldn't understand. She would miss seeing the baby, maybe having her own one day. She shoved all these thoughts down. She had to stay strong. <please for give me, and forgive them, they no not what they do, amen> .
Sarah was shocked when she felt a hand take hers. She looked over and it was Yameki. He gave her hand a squeeze and she leaned over and kissed his cheek." It's gonna be alright." She whispered to him and held tightly to his hand. She knew it wasn't gonna be alright, they were gonna die, but she held onto her faith.
One by one more people stood with her, with them. She could feel the tears welling in her eyes.<yes, lord, there is still good left in this world, you see> she felt a strong arm slip around her and she leaned against Thad," you don't need to do this, they are going to need you." Tears slipped down her cheeks. She didn't want Thad to volunteer. She wanted him to live, to survive this. He needed to figure out a plan, for after all this.
Louis, Jack and Matt all stepped up. She had silently been counting. Her breath froze in her lungs. Ten, he had ten... Sarah wrapped her arm around Thad's waist. She held tight and he would feel her tremble. She was scared, not for herself, but for all of the others.

"It will be all right," Yameki repeated after her. It was calming for him in a way. When he had first started learning from her, he had often practiced his accent by repeating what she would say. He would never take another English lesson again. He swallowed the lump in his throat, and as she squeezed his hand, he tried to smile. But his face dropped when Sam ran after him, and immediately, worry washed over his features. He held his hand, skin resting on scraped skin, and listened as he told him they would always be together. "Oh, no, no. Sam, I want to do this for you, for everyone. I want you to live. I want..."
He trailed off, fresh tears springing to his eyes at the thought of his death. He wanted so many things, like a selfish child. He tried to hold back his emotions as he stared at his friend, but his eyes widened a fraction when Sam kissed him. He froze in shock at first, though he found himself kissing back out of instinct. It had been over a year since he had been kissed, since Jimmy's final breaths, and he could almost taste the blood in his mouth again. Behind his eyes, he saw it all, and when his vision cleared and he looked back at Sam, eyes staring at the ground, guilt immediately sprung up in his chest. It wasn't because he was endangering both of their lives. It wasn't because he had made a best friend in him.
It was because he had liked it.
"Sam..." He started, but no words came to him. He felt sick to his stomach with grief, confused by the mixture of joy and despair, like oil and water. He would never get to explore those feelings, would never get to ask Jimmy to forgive him. He hoped that he would, the kindest man on the planet. He had been lucky to know him. And he would join him soon. They both would. Yameki squeezed Sam's hand, and as Matt and Jack joined them, as well as many others, he felt tears sting his eyes again. All of these people, all of his friends, dead for no reason other than the cruelty of man. How silly it was that walkers fed on the flesh of the living, and yet these men would be the ones lusting for blood, being their undoing.
"Bakemono," Yameki said through his tears, his eyes looking upon Kennedy. He was afraid, terrified of losing his friends, his life. He would never know what would come of him and Sam, of all of his friends. He ran his thumb over Sam's, trying to be calming despite the impending doom that they were facing. He didn't like the way that Kennedy looked at them, all ten, the wild look in his eye. He took a deep breath and let it out in slow, shaky exhales. "Together. Always together."
He was ready, as ready as he'd ever be. "I am so happy to have met you." Yameki's voice was so soft, so quiet, that it was almost swept up in the passing breeze. It wasn't clear who he was talking to. Perhaps it was Sam. Perhaps it was Matt. Perhaps it was everyone by his side, risking their lives with him. "Thank you. Truly, thank you."

"Well isn't that just fucking cute. Makes you want to puke fucking rainbows and shit kittens. I mean look at you pansies. All holding hands, mush gushy asshole crap. I mean really, you all seem like some hippie protesters about to make a stand. You'd think taking your strongest people and choosing them to die would be a good idea. Surprised you even lasted this long. I mean really. The thought of all this love and family crap makes me fucking sick," Kennedy laughed.
"I don't really care who needs to do this, or who's fucking strong. Ten people are dying no matter what. You idiots want to volunteer, out on your big boy pants, then so be it. Die for this piece of shit farm. Die for those cowards behind you. Hell die for eachother. But someone is dying. So if you're sure you want to do this, be my guest."
He folded his arms. The one girl, who was best to pulp spoke up and he laughed. "You think we actually need this fuckking farm. We came across three fucking like it, that's three assholes like you that are letting us fuck them. Why? Because we can. See they weren't stupid like you fucks. They didn't resist. They didn't talk the fuck back. We beat the shit out of one they listened. Killed some people they gave the supplies right the fuck up."
Kennedy moved his hands around, showing everyone before him. "See I count over thirty of you fuckers, Nearly forty. Ten of you fuckers aren't gonna make a lick of difference. Since you're coward pussy ass didn't volunteer, you got nothing to bitch and whine about. You're not dying, no you're gonna lay there like fucking coward, not gonna take one for the team."
He grinned, "but you're right, you're useless if you can't give us what you want. So that's why these ten aren't going to die. No they're the strong ones, the fighters, the ones that are gonna get me what I fucking need. But ten people are still going to die. Ten of these cowards who wouldn't stand up and fsce. Ten of these inbred, limped dicked, pussys. I don't want cowards getting my supplies. You'll come up short, no I want the ones who are strong, will get shit done."
Kennedy pointed with his crowbar. "So you, you, you, the three in the back, and you will die. Father, you're dying too. The two young guys there." He pointed his finger to Trey and Jared, and then to Paul. "You get to die." He rubbed his chin. "Need one more. One more fucker to take the bullet." He pointed the crowbar towards Thadd. "Why don't you choose, tell me who dies. Pick which one will die for your safety."
Kennedy stepped back. His men had came and escorted all those who were picked into a line. Ten men, all lined up, ten men going to die. They were forced on their knees, a gun pointed to the back of their heads. Kennedy grinned. "Need one more to join these guys, one more. Why don't we start the killing, some entertainment while I choose who dies next."
His militia nodded and a trigger was pulled. Jared's head splattered all over the ground, before he even had a chance to beg. Immediately the beghing started. Music to his ears. He loved when someone got desperate enough to beg, beg for their life. You couldn't even write that shit, the things they said. How easy they turn, pray, and wet themselves.
"Next one up to bat," he smiled and another militia nodded, pulling the trigger to end a crying Trey's life.
Kennedy looked at Yameki, "this what you wanted to be a hero for. To prevent this. Maybe you should get down their, join them on their knees." Another trigger was pulled, killing Paul where he kneeled.
The priest was up next. Reciting prayers and bible versus. "Make this one hurt a little destroy his face, I mean faith." Kennedy grinned. The shot went off, tearing through the man's cheek. He screamed out in pain, clutching his gaping hole in his cheek. Then another shot that ended his life. "Jesus Christ, that was something, wasn't it father."
One by one they were killed off, shots to the head, bodies left to bleed out on the ground. Kennedy kept his eyes on the ones who stepped forward. When it came to the last two he smiled. Joseph, Memphis, both on their knees. Seven bodies behind them dead. "Still need number ten. Who's it going to be. Which one of you asshole deserve to die?"
He set his crowbar on Garret. "He's lucky number ten. Going to be a blood splatter all over your lawn." Garret was forced to his knees along with the rest. As Memphis's head exploded he laughed, followed by Joseph, Jack's best friend.
Kennedy moved toward Sarah. "The men will finish up here. Why don't you go pack up the supplies, come on get to it. All of you gather up what's left. Or I'll kill you all."

Jack felt Matt's hand on his shoulder. It was a reassuring pat, felt good. They were all together, as one. Unified. But as Kennedy spoke, spoke about what he wanted Jack knew it took a turn for the worse. He didn't want to kill the ten who volunteered. He would kill the ten who stood back, were cowards.
He watched as the men lined them, watched the faces, Jared, Paul, Joseph. Jack watched his friend, since the church being lined up. He had been with him most of the days. They confided in each other. When out on runs, it was Joseph and him. Thadd paired them together, trusted them both. Joseph, he worked construction, he knew the walls. The farm needed him.
The shot went off and Jack watched as one by one the people Kennedy picked to die, died. Then they got to Jospeh, Jack moved closer. "No, not him. Not him," he called out. He saw the gun get put close to his head. Jack dropped down to his knees. He couldn't stand, coulson move. "No don't kill him, don't kill him," he called out. But he hesrd the shot, watched his friend take it. He watched his friend go down, dead.

Sam awkwardly blushed. Yameki kissed back and he didn't really pull away. Sam continued to hold his hand. He wasn't going to let go, not now. As their friends joined them Sam looked away. He didn't want all these people to die, not Jack, not Matt. He couldn't do anything, he was helpless, alone. This man, out to prove a point, was going to kill them all.
He held Yam's hand tighter, and kept his gaze to the man. Georgia and Josie both spoke, talking down to the man. But the raider leader, he brushed it off, made jokes, threw insults. The man wanted to kill ten others, picked ten from the crowd, mthe ones who didn't volunteer. He deemed them cowards, not worthy. He wanted ones strong, like them.
The leader threw insults at Yameki, said he didn't need to be a hero. Sam looked at the man. "Leave him alone. Just kill someone and get us over with. Get the stuff and leave, we did everything you asked. You're the big man, you won. It's over, you win. We're defeated. We submit."
He started killing this inthe ground, one, by one. Each one of them, after each shot he flinched, froze. Sam didn't like violence, never had. As they died, he was scared. He closed his eyes. "Together, always together."

Thad kept his arm around Sarah. He wasn't letting go, not now. "They need you Sarah, not me. You're the leader. You inspire everyone." He motioned to those who took a stand beside her. "Just look at all of us. We believe you in. And these people, now, they need something to believe in. You gave them that. We need that, we need you. Me I'm just a body. I'm muscle. I'm okay dying. For them. For you."
He smiled down at her. But as Kennedy spoke it seemed it wouldn't matter. They wouldn't be dying, they were going to choose ten other people, out of those who didn't take a stand. Tactically it made sense, you wanted the strong ones who submitted, finding food, but he didn't like it. They took a stand for a reason, to save everyone else.
As he lined up the people Thadd stepped forward. "We don't need to do this. We made out choice." Up as he hesrd the first shot, it was to late. Thadd held Sarah, turned her away from the violence. One by one they went down the line, killing, shooting everyone. Thadd watched, as the people he knew, shared meals with, worked hard with. He watched as one by one, they were killed.
He looked away, "enough, you made your point. We'll get the supplies." He looked at the nine bodies, they needed one more, Garret's was on his knees, beside the nine dead. "You made you point, no one else needs to die, we submit, roll over. You want the supplies, they're yours. We'll find you. More. We can do that." He looked the man up and down. "Just stop the killing."
Thadd turned back to Sarah, "go, take Yameki, take Matt and Sam, start gathering up what we have, half of everything. No one else needs to die. I'm sorry." He placed a hand on her cheek, whiped away her tears. "You got what you want. We'll load the trucks, and then you can leave."
Everything happened all at once. People stepped foward to be killed. The leader started shooting. People dropped dead. Ella started shaking. This had to be a bad dream. She would wake up after it was over. Everyone would be alive and things would be fine. This wasn't happening.
The teen let a few stray tears slide down her cheeks. This wasn't a time to be crying. She needed to be strong. In a world like this you needed to suck it up and keep going. No exceptions.
Sliding her hand to her back pocket she wrapped her hand around the hilt of the knife the Maxine had given her for protection. Everyone might be giving up, but she wasn't. These bastards were not going to bully them. They would give them anything.
Shakily standing up the girl cleared her throat. "Why don't you pick on someone your own size?" She piped out. It sounded stupid, but it was true. They were outnumbered and out armed. "Killing just so you can get shit is pretty cowardly in my opinion." She added. "Acting like s bunch of bullies stealing lunch money at school. Really?" She frowned. "You're just as bad as the flesh eating monsters outside the wall."
Josie felt herself getting sick again as the shots rang out, one by one. She tried to get up, struggling to get back on her feet, only to be pushed back down by the one that had already beaten her for firing at them. She was punished for fighting back and now everyone was being punished for this lunatic.
She tried to fight back against the man that pushed her down again, but one foot came to rest against her wrist as she lay on her back. He could just as easily put a bullet in her head too, but he didn't.
One by one the shots rang out and as that happened, more tears were shed. She couldn't help her outburst.
"You asshole! Who do you think you are? Some king of the south? Fuck you and your bastards!" As she lay on the ground, she brought her free leg up to kick her captor in the shin although it wasn't much of a kick from the pain in her body. She still had some fight..until the gun was pointed at Garrett's head.
She liked him. He was helpful and spoke to her on the farm. He helped fill her car's tank with gas and they had little conversations here and there. He didn't deserve it.
"No! Not him! Just ...not him!" It was clear she liked Garrett and by the sound of her voice there may have been something more then just a friendship, even though there really wasn't. There was nothing more she could do to help this situation even though she hadn't really done anything to help in the first place.
Shauna Kelly: That helped, thank you
