One of the guys leaned out the window of the Humvee and shot a walker. It was a good hit, the thing dropped like a rock. Lizzy flinched at the gun shot. They were all locked and loaded in there. She was quick but she couldn't out run a bullet...
"Get in!"
The woman in the front called to her and Lizzy wasted no time in following the order. She sprinted the short distance to the vehicle and scrambled into the back seat slamming the door shut behind her. The driver floored the gas and the Humvee sped away from the approaching walkers. Lizzy let out a huge sigh of relief. There had been no way she would have escaped on her own. She glanced at the people around her. The woman in the divers seat seemed to have control of this situation, she was fairly calm, or at least seemed to be. Lizzy knew it wasn't her first close encounter with the walkers. The blonde girl in the front seemed less sure, tired, her eyes were drooping from the strain of the day. The two men were sat awkwardly. Lizzy knew they were suspicious of her, she could see it in their eyes but mostly everyone in the Humvee was just glad to be alive. There was a general feeling of a newly formed group and if that was the case these weren't the people who took her sister.
"How you guys doing back there?"
Lizzy looked back at the woman.
'My name is Lizzy, thanks for letting me back there, I was walker food if you hadn't.'
She smiled hoping to dispel the mistrust as quickly as possible.
