Kevin woke up and for the first in a long time he slept and didn’t have to worry about being eaten in his sleep, and that was great. It was the best night in ages. When Michael left he took off his shirt and pants, cause he hated sleeping in clothes. His coat was still on the chair where he left it. Kevin already heard Michael walking around but he had no clue where he was now. So Kevin got out from under the blanket, he took some fresh clothes out of his backpack and got dressed. Michael left a toothbrush on the table and some deodorant, Kev noticed it when he was already dressed. So once more he took off his shirt applied the deodorant and put it back on. Then he grabbed the toothbrush, cleaned his teeth and put the toothbrush in his backpack, he figured he could keep it. He didn’t know if he would have coffee too, cause that would be too good to be true. But Kevin wasn’t planning on searching around, it wasn’t his stuff so he shouldn’t. So instead he sat down on a chair and waited for Michael to come back, he was pretty sure he wouldn’t take long, then he could thank him for the toothbrush and deodorant, those things where easy to find these days.
(Figured it was ok to say Michael left those things for him )

Michael headed into the room dressed and packed. He had was ready. Gun loaded, backpack on. He tossed Kevin his ammo that he had taken the year before and without speaking headed to the staircase before looking back "Well lets get going. We have 7-8 hours of daylight, on set of rations each in my pack... Any preference where we start?"
Kevin caught the ammo, he grabbed his gun and put the ammo back in. “Thanks.” He said as he looked at Michael. Then Michael headed to the staircase and asked Kevin he was ready. “Yup, let’s go and nope you can pick where we start, since you did this way more than me I think.” Kevin answered as he walked towards Michael.
Then he walked back and took his coat, it was still cold outside, so the coat wasn’t a luxury, while being there he also grabbed his backpack, they could need it to fill it with supplies, there was already some stuff in but there was room for more. Then he walked back to Michael.

Michael stood thinking for a few moments and began to walk upstairs. He was considering where to go, he had a few locations and areas and knew where some of the major groups to avoid/spy on were. He searched a cupboard at the top of the stairs grabbing a pair of binoculars and placing them in his pack. He then placed his pistol in his pocket and lifted his rifle. He then unlocked the door and stepped outside waiting for Kevin.
Kevin followed right behind Michael, he watched how Michael grabbed a pair of binoculars. “Always handy, good plan taking it.” Kevin said as he looked at Michael. Then Kevin followed Michael outside.
“Ok lead the way.” Kev said softly not wanting to speak to loud. He kept his gun ready for if he would see something.

Michael headed to the outer gate and unlocked it stepping outside he looked left and right checking for activity. A few walkers were present but that did not concern him. He spotted a National Guard Hummer drive around the corner and he stepped behind a trash can for a few moments hiding "DUCK!" He whispered to Kevin waiting for the truck to head past.
Once it was gone he stood and headed outside going South towards little Italy.
Kevin followed Michael, they reached the locked gate and Kevin waited while Michael opened it. “Best way to keep you safe if you ask me.” Kevin said referring to a big gate with a lock. Seconds later Michael opened the gate and once more Kevin followed behind him. They noticed two walkers, but they were at a distance. Just as they where about to continue Michael yelled to duck. Kev didn’t know what happened, but he trusted Michael so he ducked next to him behind the trash can. Then he saw how a truck drove passed. “Dammit remind me to hide the car when we come back, lucky I parked it out of sight, or we would be in trouble now I guess, who were the people in the truck.” Kevin asked as he followed Michael and walked south.

Michael stood "Those assholes either kill you or take you captive now. Originally they were working for the government but now its essentially a military dictatorship" He continued heading down the street and across a few blocks until he knew they were not far from the base of one of New York's many groups "We can search a hotel... get high and see where we want to go... later I would circle by the legal district if possible. A lot of places to search" Michael lit up a smoke and waited to see what Kevin wanted to do. They were mainly out for his needs anyway.
Kevin listened as he told him how bad the people in that truck were. “Well glad we escaped those, so thanks once more.” Kev said. He needed to thank the guy a lot, he was like a guardian angel, that had some very good pasta, deodorant and a tooth brush, oh and don’t forget the sleeping spot. Then Michael gave him some options and asked where they would go first. “Euhm, if you don’t mind, checking the hotel does sound good, I know Vince and he would always search a safe sleeping spot.” Kevin said as he watched Michael light a cigarette.
“You know those will kill you, but I can understand, rather a cigarette then a walker right.” Kevin joked. He wasn’t a person to make a lot of jokes, so it would take a while for him to make another one, even if this was a bad one. He was a happy person, but that didn't mean he joked a lot. While he waited for Michael to lead him to the hotel, he watched the ring around his finger. “I’m going to find you.” He whispered very softly, only he could hear it.

Michael chuckled a second "Cancer... I don't think Ill be alive in two years..." And he thought to himself 'If I am I may just kill myself'. Michael looked down the street seeing a hotel with revolving doors as the entrance. He liked that. They limited the amount of walkers that could get through at a time... and that's if they didn't just squash together and block the door. He headed through and picked up and old coke can, throwing it at the base of the stairs and waiting to see if any walkers came out of hiding.
Kevin heard that Michael had cancer and he felt bad for making the comment about the cigarette. “Sorry…..I…..I didn’t know.” Kevin said softly. “That Hotel should work.” Kevin said trying to change the subject. If he wanted to talk about it, he would do that in his own time, he could understand that Michael wouldn’t just share his story yet, cause he only knew Kev for a couple days. He watched how Michael threw a can, at first nothing happened. Then a walker slowly crawled out, Kevin didn’t attack just yet, he waited so see if there were any more.

Michael stood still waiting for walkers to come out. He had told Kevin he had cancer because although he had no diagnosis he felt it in his body. He had cancer when he was very young and he felt certain sensations. He just knew. All of a sudden two walkers came from behind the reception desk and Michael headed towards the first one shoulder barging him to the ground. Whilst it was down he stuck a knife in the others head before stamping the first walker out. He waited to see if anymore could appear
Kevin made sure the silencer was on his gun and then he took care of the walker on the floor that crawled out. He was able to hit it in the head cause he was close enough, cause he was new to the gun thing, if a walker was too far he would miss for sure. The reason he didn’t just smashed it’s head with his shoe, was because Kevin hated blood, dirt, ect even during the apocalypse. He followed Michael and watched how he took care of the two other walkers that came out of hiding.
They waited a little longer, but it seemed safe. “Guess there it's clear.” Kevin said softly.

Michael saw an abandoned water cooler and topped up his water before heading up the first flight of stairs "Keep quiet and don't touch anything until we get high enough"
Michael was aiming for the fifth floor to find some supplies. Not the highest floor by a long stretch but high enough to spy on you surroundings.
Post by Michael Guarnere on Mar 16, 2015 20:47:51 GMT -5
Michael headed up slowly reaching the fifth floor in no time he stepped into a corridor. It was like a ghost town... he decided to search this floor and picked the restaurant as the first location and headed down the hall. He searched and ripped up a table cloth or two into strips for bandages. Damon then saw the kitchen and decided to go and check.
Kevin followed close behind Michael an soon they reached the fifth floor. It looked deserted and it was all a big mess, but that was with most of the buildings these days. Kevin just stood at a distance as he watched Michael search the place. He was more of a guy that looked around and then searched, but he liked how Michael did things too. On first sight he couldn’t see anything useful and he followed Michael to the kitchen. When they opened the door, fear rushed through Kev, as the place was crawling with walkers, at least twelve. “Shit.” He whispered.

Michael stopped and stayed cool hiding behind the wall not visible to the walkers. A lot were at the back of the kitchen and there were a few isles. He didn't want to move but he saw what looked like a former national guard walker with a first aid bag slung around him who was closest to this end of the room. He tried to think... Then he saw a second door to the kitchen around the side. He whispered to Kevin "I want that first aid kit on that walker. He has stronger stuff than I have, combat wound stuff. Was probably evacuating the hotel when shit went down. Morphine and shit... Ill draw them out and up a floor and we meet up on the ground floor... You just have to kill that walker and get the kit downstairs. We may need it for gun shot wounds or amputations... You up for that" Michael spoke in an assertive whisper of the plan. He was a Non com... he knew how to improvise.

*Across the Bridge from Manhattan*
There were walkers everywhere as Tory drove through the suburbs of New York City. She was surprised by how quickly she had made it to the Big Apple, her driving was definetely subpar and she had gotten lost a few times, but the roads were mostly empty and she had made no stops. Turning east Tory caught her first glimpse of the destination on her post card rising above the skyline: the Empire State Building. The only problem? Separating the teen from Manhattan was a bridge lined with cars; she wouldn't be able to get through with the vehicle. Tory paused to think about turning back. She had seen ALOT of walkers earlier, was a post card worth her life? It was just a stupid post card after all, she could just skip it and find the next one. Tory pondered it for a few minutes. No, she had come this far, what was a few more miles on foot? She could always turn back later. Tory hoped her sightseeing trip would be worth it as she crawled out of her car. The wind blew through her hair and chilled her legs. Grabbing both her packs and walking across the bridge, Tory took her first steps into Manhattan.

Where am I? Stephanie thought as she looked around, the tall buildings of what had been Mid-Town Manhattan standing like silent sentinels to the post-apocalyptic world. Glancing between a long-worn map of the area and the area around her, she figured she was somewhere along the Hudson, on the Manhattan side of the river. Its' nice being back in New York, she thought as she stuffed the map back into a jacket pocket, adding just wish it weren't under these circumstances, once again walking along the deserted street...oh, well.
Walking down the canyon-like streets gave Stephanie a momentary case of the creeps; she dismissed them almost as fast as they had come. There were a few scattered bodies lying around and the rusted hulks of vehicles scattered to-and-fro, but it otherwise quiet. Looks almost like West Baltimore, Stephanie mused humorously as she walked down the street, keeping a keen eye for anything out of the ordinary...not that anything nowadays isn't out of the ordinary, she thought, stopping after thinking she'd heard something.
Pausing for a moment, she quietly unslung her shotgun and quietly made sure it was ready to go if needed before slinging it back over her shoulder. Guess I ain't alone after all, she thought as she continued on. After a few moments, sure that whatever she'd heard been nothing of note, she began whistling to keep her mind focused. It was a tune she'd whistled most all of her life, something that in the pre-apocalyptic world was known as "Farmer in the Dell"...
Shauna Kelly: That helped, thank you
