Sam stood there and could tell he was a bit uncomfortable. He spoke about seeing what Acer's men were about when they rescued the lawyer. Her eyes roamed his face . He was upset, about what he thought those men did to her, but he was handling it delicately so he didn't hurt her.
Sam moved closer to him, her hand slipped over and touched his arm," Damon, they did this. " she raised her arm," and yes, they scared the hell out of me with vial threats, but no one violated me." She couldn't meet his eyes," if they had, I wouldn't have come back to you, not damaged like that." She swallowed," I wouldn't want to burden you with that, I couldn't have shared myself with you."
"Nothing to be sorry about, they are dead because of me," Cade said looking away, "if I hadn't provoked Acer, all those times. They'd be alive right now. We'd still be strong, all those people. Dan, James, Angel, all of them would still be here. But I poked the bear, and I caused this." He looked back at Collette.
"We both know it. If it wasn't for me they would all still be here. Acer killed them, so it is on me, not you. You tried to prevent it, I provoked it. So I'm sorry. I cause this for you, the pain, the loss. Blame me, hate me."
She crossed the room, gave a half smile and offered a smoke. Cade wasn't buying it, the fake smile to cover the pain. "Not everyone has to die, only those who are weak. You me, we're strong we aren't going to die. Not if we're together." He looked at the smoke and shook his head.
"You keep it, you need it. I don't smoke anyway," he said leaning back, "but I'd love a drink."

Damon would always have a slight suspicion. He listened to Sam and tried to look cheerful before again grabbing his pack "Anyway. Ill let you say your goodbyes to the Doc and that... Do you want me to deal with Collette? Shes a bit unhinged. Meet by the front in 15 minutes?"
Damon took a painkiller for his shoulder and swallowed it quickly. "Its going to be fun all this... finding somewhere new. A new challenge."
Colette stated at him and pulled the cigarettes back. She opened the black and took one out, lighting it and shovibg the pack back into her pocket. She glanced around the room and then moved to a small stand. She pulled out a bottle and glass from the drawer. Silently, she opened the bottle and poured some in the glass. It took her a little bit , opening it one handed, using her arm to hold the bottle. She glanced over at him, then brought the bottle and glass back to the bed. Sitting down next to him, she handed him the glass.
Colette took the bottle and sat it in the bend of her knee on the bed. She inhaled and exhaled smoke, then flicked the ash in the ashtray next to his bed. " so, I should hate you and blame you, for what? You aren't doing this, taking all the blame." She lifted the bottle to her lips," besides, I thought you hated me." A long pour and a swallow," can't hate you, Arcade, you're all I got left." She smiled at him," besides, no point in it, then I have to admit I give a shot and I don't wanna do that, I'm done, it's not worth the risk."
Sam stood there and didn't say anything. The biker. Well, shit. Sam didn't know what to say to him. She went over and got her pack as he spoke about her saying goodbyes." She's probably with Cade, been holding up keeping an eye on him every chance she gets." She glanced over at him," that's what holly said."
Sam moved to the door as he said about meeting her out front," ok, I won't take long." She didn't feel right just leaving, but the only ones she thought would even care about them leaving were holly and the doc. She glanced around the room one last time, then headed off downstairs. Holly and the doc had been in the kitchen most of the time, so she went looking for them there.
Cade watched her move, watched her take the smoke, light it and inhale it. He knew she smoked, she didn't hide it. She smoked often, more so before. Some how it made her more attractive, changed who she was. She was more calm, thinking. He could see it in his face, the way she looked, In her eyes.
He watched her grab the bottle, pour him a glass. As she sat on the bed he listened. He took a sip, the warm burn at the back of his throat. It was nice, calmly. Dulled the pains me cleared his head. He could just drift away and watch her, placing the glass on the bedside table he leaned back, his eyes meeting hers.
"I want you to hate me," he said calmly, "I want you to get angry at me, blame me. I want you to be human, for me to be human. I want us to feel. I don't hate you, but I want to. I want to throw blame your way, to get angry at you, but I don't, I can't, I don't hate you." He leaned closer to her. "Give a shit about what? Me? Yourself?"
He leaned closer, over her. Then he kissed, like he had in the past. He pulled off and smirked. "Hate me," he said calmly, "I know you want to." He hadn't kissed her in a while, but it brought back memories, good and bad. He kissed her again, "blame me. Get angry."
Colette eyed him as he spoke. " you, everyone else is gone." She smirked," you know I've never worried about myself or my own safety." Her eyes grew wider for a moment as he said he wanted to blame her, to hate her, but he didn't, he couldn't.
He came towards her , but she didn't pull back. Why should she? She had never feared him, he would never purposely hurt her. He kissed her and she allowed it, holding back, keeping her emotions in check. Colette's eyes roamed his face as he practically begged for her to hate him, blame him, or get angry with him. He wanted to be human, for her to be human, for them to feel something. A second kiss, and she could taste the whiskey this time. She smirked against his lips. " you want me to say I love you, to feel for you and lose myself in you. The way you taste, you feel , the scent of you, the touch of your skin?" Colette pulled her head back and locked her eyes on his, searching for something.
Slowly she brought the cigarette up and inhaled, exhaled smoke. " I care for you, always have, don't do this, not to me, not now, Cade, please?" She knew he was pushing for something raw, emotions she was walling up inside her. Things she wanted to let die, so she could survive and do the vile things she knew were becoming necessary to do so. "Please, Cade, don't break me."

Damon headed outside following Samantha until she headed downstairs. His mind was occupied with how to handle talking to Collette. He knew she had been keeping an eye on Cade since the attack. He had little in common with Collette and had spoken to her few times. He hoped there would be a form of mutual respect, especially after the work he put in place to defend the bar. He knocked a few doors not sure where she was.
"Hello... Is Collette in their? Sorry if I'm an inconvenience."

"Oh so you don't give a shit about me," Arcade said looking at her, "I don't think that's true. You wouldn't be in here all the time if you didn't give a shit. So don't tell me you don't." He listened to her words. "I don't care what you say, what you feel. As long as you feel something. I don't want you gone, don't want you to change more than you have to. To become like me, like Acer. Corrupted, no turning back."
He moved back from her, letting go of her. "Let them out Collette, react, emote, fucking do something," he yelled. "You can't hold them in forever, that's what will break you." If could get up and walk away he could, instead he just looked away. She wanted to hide everything, not let anything out then he would do the same.
He wasn't a good guy, she deserved better. She deserved someone who wouldn't break. He didn't trust himself not to. He would hurt her again, as he had before. It would happen again and again, wether she liked it or not. It was who he was, what he had become. He wasn't as was before, he had changed. He was willing to kill now, wanted to, craved to. He needed violence, anger, the fighting. He didn't want that for her, not now. If he wasn't afraid to hurt her or what she would do to herself he would leave.but he couldn't now.
The knock on the door dragged him out of thought. He heard the voice, the sniper. "Yeah she's in here," he said waiting for the door to open. By the tone of the guy's voice it wasn't urgent. Meant there wasn't an emergency, for now.
His words, they were what caught her. Like him, like Acer? Is this what this was about? Was he trying to salvage what was left of himself, as well as her? He wanted her to poor all her hate and anger out on him, to blame him for what happened, to scream and shout. Why? It hadn't all been his fault. She knew that. She had just as much blame, more. She should have stopped playing with Acer a long time ago, given the man what he wanted or drawn the line in the sand. She hadn't, thinking she could handle him. It was her huberous that had brought them here, done this to him.
Cade couldn't bare to let her just give herself to that man. How was she supposed to blame him for trying to keep her from doing that? She hadn't wanted to do it.
Colette stared at his face and was about to speak when Damon's voice was heard and Cade answered. She glanced at the door and stood , crossing the room to open it." What is it? Something wrong?" She held the door open, allowing Damon to come in if he wished. It gave him a view of Cade, either way.
Holly moved around the kitchen. She'd spent the last few days changing dressing and taking care of the few injured they had. She'd been going up each night and changing Cade's since he was restless and it was doing a lot of seeping through the stitches. Holly hadn't been avoiding Andrei, she had done everything he had asked of her, but they hadn't discussed her kissing him. Holly figured it was probably best forgotten.
She jumped when Sam came in and then saw the pack," so this is it, you and Damon are leaving?" She frowned, people had been leaving left and right. Hell, from what she could tell, some vanished even during the fighting. Holly figured her and Andrei would be leaving themselves, she just was t sure when.
She crossed over to the blonde and hugged her," gonna miss you." Holly had liked Sam. She hoped the female kept herself clean and didn't backslide." I wish you two well, he better take care of you."
As Victor pulled up, he saw that the dead were piling up in the front of the hotel. So he had used a few other streets off the main strip to get to the back. The dead were less, but he had to kill some when he had gotten out of the SUV. Running now with his rifle over his shoulder, he opened the back door and closed it fast. No one had fixed the door yet. Shocker? Not to him it wasn't. Sliding the dead bolt across, he made his way from the back to the bar area where nobody was at. "Most likely the people are resting upstairs to stay away from the ground in case the dead had gotten in." Victor thought to himself. Spent shell casings were scattered across the floor from the battle five days before. It seemed just like yesterday it had happened. The memory of Angel smiling up at him came to him like a wall. He frowned and looked down at the ground. Victor was starting to like her more and more each moment he was with her. The day after they met she was killed. He wasn't able to save her. He had put a bullet into her head as she stumbled as a walker. But he did save the group's leader Colette. Sighing, he walked over to the bar and grabbed a bottle that still had a rag stuffed in it. Pulling the heavily soaked cloth out, he lifted the bottle to his lips and took a heavy swig from it. The burn went from his throat to his stomach. Placing the bottle on the counter, he lowered his head and then looked over to the window where it still had a big hole in it from where he had jumped through.
More spent casing laid there and he can see the dead stumbling around outside. Keeping quiet, he didn't want to draw anymore attention to the inside of the hotel, jeopardizing anymore lives that were still here. But where to start he thought to himself. Taking another swig, he left the bottle on the counter and walked to where Colette's office was. Opening it, he peeked inside and saw that no one was inside. Leaving it, he began walking around looking for others. But from what he had seen so far, a lot of people were gone. Either killed or they simply left. Tanya was one of such people gone. Shaking his head, he looked into the room where Tanya was resting. Blood on the ground with a crumbled picture on the ground. Picking it up, he looked it over and saw it was Tanya with an older Russian looking man. "Was this her father? Maybe Granddad? Who knows.I hope she is ok out there in the world of the dead." Setting the picture down, he kept searching. Then going upstairs, he began his searching again. He ran upon Sam, Damon and the female acting as nurse. But his goal was to find Colette. After a bit of searching, he found what he was looking for. The sound of her voice talking from behind a closed door was what made him stop in his tracks. Knocking on the door, he gave them a moment and said. "Ms. Colette. It's Lt. Victor Crowley." Victor opened the door slightly not knowing to expect and asked. "Is it ok if I may enter? I would like to talk to you about your group and your future of staying here in the hotel if it's ok with yourself. I know I haven't been here for the last five days and I have a reason for it that I will address later on in our conversation." He didn't cross the thresh hold until he was told he was allowed in.

Damon had already entered the room and was stood by Collette. He had taken off his hat and took a seat in one of the chairs. He looked towards the wounded man in the bed "You holding up Cade? No new complaints" He thought to ask was the least of a gesture he could provide alongside a smile.
His attention returned to Collette "I know a few people left and stuff and its been a rough few weeks here. But myself and Samantha... this place isn't home to us. Its just not where we need to be right now."
He pulled a few pain killers out his bag and offered them to Cade
"I hate to leave good people like you weaker. But myself and Sam want to try our luck out in the countryside. After the ordeal with... well you know what ordeal I speak of. When she was taken. This city... this place. I need to forget. Forget that day. My actions. I just came here to do the decent thing some others did not. Tell you face to face and hope you give us your blessing to leave."
He heard Victor banging at the door and thought in his head 'typical' the worst timing and if this man was leaving too hurt the chances Collette would split with any supplies. He made no mention of supplies for now but hoped Collette would allow them some to leave. He had earned something for his work defending their hotel.
In the worst scenario he had other ways of getting them.

He watched Damon come in and sit down. The sniper asked a question and Cade nodded. "As good as I could be. Still a little sore. Keep your drugs,my ou may need them." He heard the banging of someone else as he spoke. When he was done Cade looked at Collette before he spoke.
"Well thanks for not just running off, not that we would have cared. Wouldn't think everything of it, seems all your friends split. Glad you had the decency to at least say you were leaving, can't say the same for the others. I can see why you want to split though, you're with that Sam girl right, the one Acer took. I know I wouldn't want to stay. Take care Sniper. Best of luck out there."
He didn't even know his name admittedally. He didn't need to know their names. He expected most to have gone long before Acer even died.
Victor entered and Cade sat straighter up, watching him. "We were just discussing plans. Not very mobile at the moment to find a new place."
Anthony made his way downstairs to where the girls were speaking. Leigh had been with Candy, and Anthony wasn't sure how to quite approach the issue at hand. "Hey, Candy. Hey, Leigh...Candy, do you have a second? I mean--I just, it's about your group in Miami...Aron and I are heading to Miami, and I knew you had a group there. We're leaving tomorrow. This place is safe, and if I'm being honest, staying here would be much safer for you. But I owe it to you to tell you I'm going...if you want to try and find your people..."
"Leaving, eh?" Clayton followed Damon into the room and looked around. "Anthony and Aron are leaving soon, too...it appears we'll be back to normal shortly, without Acer bothering us, that is." Clayton flashed a look to Colette and frowned. "Smoking will kill you..." and then to Arcade. "Alcohol won't do you favors either..."
Clayton looked to Damon and extended his hand. "You helped us defend this place, and for that I am grateful. We may not have been here if not for your efforts. You have my gratitude." It was sincere, but curt. There was not time for long goodbyes. "Glad you're feeling better, Arcade, though I suggest we resume business as usual with regards to inventory...and we are...low on ammo, as you may expect. Food and water running low as well, though with Damon and Sam leaving, and Aron and Anthony tomorrow, we can conserve better from here on out..."
He paused, glancing around the room. "Or was this not the topic of discussion prior to my entrance?"

Candy slipped Flopsy back into the toolbox as she and Leigh talked. When Anthony came around, she wiped her eyes and smiled up to him. ”Hello Anthony.” The idea of getting back to Miami and her Uncle Danny after all this time was made her giddy. At the same time, she didn't like the idea of leaving behind the on of the few substitute uncle's had since. Glancing back to Leigh briefly, her voice grew to almost normal volume in her excitement, ”As long as Dallas can come with us if he wants, sure I want to go!It's not so safe here.”
She fished out her notepad to flipped to one page though it was in her algebraic like short hand. It was a list of food and water supplies. She pointed to different lines as if were legible. Her voice grew softer again as concern spread over her features. ”See how low the food and stuff is getting. It's not safe anywhere people go hungry.”

Damon listened to Cade with his eyes shifting between he and Collette. "Thanks, been difficult coming to terms with the things some of us had to do. Neccesary acts to survive. Its a dog eat dog hell hole, especially agaist people like Acer.
He shook Claytons hand and nodded before he headed towards the door hoping one of them would mention supplies. He stopped and pivoted on his foot.
"I know times are tough and this may be an unwelcome request but Sam has some medical problems I have been dealing with. Would it be okay for me to grab a few supplies for the road."
He looked back at Clayton "I could leave some ammunition or painkillers as compensation for a little food and certain drugs... Would make life easier for me til' we find somewhere to settle down."
It was worth a shot. Could make life keeping himself and Samantha easier without having to scavenge food in great desperation.
Colette stared at each face. Cade, Damon, Clayton and Victor. She sighed at Clayton's comment of her smoking. She inhaled and exhaled smoke, flicking her ash. Slowly she stood up," Clayton, this ain't business as usual, wake up." She crossed the room to Damon," take what you need and good luck to you both." Least he had balls enough to come and say goodbye, rest of them just slunk off like rats.
She turned and looked at Clayton," no, it wasn't the topic of discussion, for gods sake, half our people are dead, we can't stay here." She was doing her best to stay in check, but the little rise in her voice would tell that to those who knew here." This place is unsafe, we've attracted to much attention. Victor came up to talk about that, " Colette eyed Victor," I can't move Cade, not by myself, and if the other two are leaving tomorrow, that lowers the numbers even more. " she looked at Clayton," any idea what Doc and the red head are doing? We need to salvage what we can, pack up and find somewhere to hold up til we figure all this out." She looked at Cade, everything she had just said felt hollow. She didn't want to lead, to take responsibility for anyone but herself anymore.
Victor walked inside and heard everything going on. Everyone talking about different parts about something. The guy being called 'Sniper' was talking about leaving, someone named Clayton talking about the resources going low. Victor leaned against the wall waiting like a fly on the wall. But when Damon was starting to leave, Victor had been wondering as to what else he was doing in here. He knew that the man wasn't in here to simply say good bye. But when he stopped and asked for resources, that's when the final piece clicked into place. Victor had to give him credit that he was brave enough to come up to the two and ask for some supplies. Colette began talking to each and everyone of them about the subjects each of them had brought to her and Arcade. He felt sorry for her, having to have so much responsibility for the hotel and everyone inside. When she said his name, he stood up straight and watched her, listened to her. She was worried about moving him. "No worries ma'am, I will help him to the vehicle. I have a place where you and a small handful of your group can go to. It's my families hunting cabin out in the bayou. I put up a seven foot tall steel linked fences supported by thick steel poles. I got a few people there now that drifted in earlier today."
He walked up to them both, but kept a good distance from them to give them breathing room. A small smile came across his face as he then further explained.
"Your group asked me for my help ma'am and sir. I came, gave some medical aid and even fought alongside you all. I entered your group as a stranger, but in doing so, I placed your lives under my care. So it's my responsibility to make sure you all get to safety. As a soldier of the United States, I took an oath to protect the American Population from Domestic and Foreign threats. It's your choice if you any of you in this room wants to come. I got enough room for everyone. But Sir..." He looked at Arcade and then Colette. "You two will get a room in the house so he can recover from his injury. If you trusted me enough to fix your arm and to fight alongside you, trust me now Ms. Colette. I am not your Enemy, I'm one of your friends in all of your times of need."
