Michelle watched Kevin read the tablet. He was kind. That was a shame. The kind ones always seemed to die first. She frowned for a moment, then let it vanish. She heard their debate, but pretended to be oblivious to what they were saying. She glanced around at the faces, and took her tablet and went and sat down in a chair.
Michelle watched them all. It would seem like she was trying to follow what they were all talking about. She chewed her bottom lip, and then raised her head, trying to see the map they were all hovering around. She wasn't sure how she could help them, or even if she should try. She had never been to New York, but right now, it wounded like they were running out of options. She scribbled in her tablet, and tugged on Kevin's shirt. (I go with you?) she looked up at him, then back at the tablet and added (And her, Stephanie, she is nice) She smiled at him. She cast a glance at Micheal and then Albert, and the pen moved again, (He in charge, Micheal?) she looked at Kevin and waited for him to reply to her.

Listening to Albert, Stephanie mused over their options. "Okay, so let me see if I got this straight. We've got about a week or so of food here before we would absolutely have to leave. If we leave, we have to get by some pretty bad people in Mid-Town and SoHo and even then, there's no guarantee we won't alert anyone to our presence..." blowing out a long breath to digest their potential options. Pulling out her map of Manhattan back out, she began looking at the lower end of the island. "Michael," she asked, "when I was walking on the west bank of the Hudson, I coulda' swore I saw some small boats anchored to a police station at the very tip of Manhattan. Now, correct if I'm wrong here, but what if instead of heading north, we headed south, checked it out and see if they still run. If there's still a police boat or fire boat down there, could we use that to get off the island?"

Ronan's lifted his attention from the map to Stephanie when she mentioned something about a boat. He wasn't that all keen on using that mode of transportation as long as they had options. He kept quiet though he didn't want to shoot the option out of the water, no pun intended but if there was any option and he meant any other option he would take it. He looked down at the map again and thought of something.
"We could maybe take the subway. We would atleast be underground not bringing too much attention and there shouldn't be that many walkers down there as in up here, right?" It might be dark but that might be an option too."
Kevin looked at Albert as he talked about a supply run. “I agree.” Kevin said. “Two people should go with you.” He added. The reason that Kevin said that was because they didn’t know if he was to be trusted, so leaving him with just one of their group would be stupid. But Kevin was too polite to say that in his face, it was more something Michael would do.
Just then Kevin his attention was drawn to Michelle as she tugged his shirt to get his attention. Kevin smiled as she asked to go with him. “You can go with me I’ll keep you safe.” He said with a wink. Then he looked at the tablet again. She said Stephanie was nice too. “Yeah she is very friendly indeed.” Kevin said softly with his same smile. Then Michelle wrote something again, asking if Michael was in charge. “Yup he is sort of our leader, he’s a nice guy too.” Kevin said as he once more looked at the girl with a smile.
While he talked to Michelle he heard Stephanie and Roman going through their options. But for now he kept his attention with Michelle.

Michael shook his head "They patrol the coastal roads to Manhattan. If we tried they would shoot us up from the shore OR follow us by road. Not hard to track anymore" Michael looked to Kevin "You sort out what you want with runs or whatever. I dont want to leave my Cafe unattended or manned by someone other than me"

Michael shook his head "They patrol the coastal roads to Manhattan. If we tried they would shoot us up from the shore OR follow us by road. Not hard to track anymore"
Well, there goes that idea, Stephanie thought glumly; though she agreed with Michael that it wouldn't be worth, it reminded her that they were, for all intents and purposes, like rats in a maze with an angry cat somewhere lurking.
Michael looked to Kevin "You sort out what you want with runs or whatever. I dont want to leave my Cafe unattended or manned by someone other than me"
As she kept looking at the map, she digested their options once more, letting them swirl in her mind. Ahh, to hell with it, she thought. "I'll go," she said without a trace of fear or discord in her voice, adding, "at the very least, we need to see what's out there. Check out different routes, check to see if there are any hordes of walkers roaming around...besides, if someone's gotta go outside, better someone volunteers than gets picked to do it." It wasn't like her to volunteer for anything, but as she looked at it, desperate times called for desperate measures.

"Let me go too, you might need the extra hand. And besides I need to stretch my legs out anyway."
Roman new a long time ago he wasn't the type to sit around and wait for something to happen. And although he wouldn't mind staying safe from the walkers, if it means getting everyone else out safely he will take the chance. That being said he couldn't go out without a weapon either, he wasn't a military grade marksmen but atleast he could handle his own. He looked at Kevin and smiled before looking at Michael.
"I'm light on my feet so I won't slow anyone down, plus I'm not too bad with a gun. And since I'm on the subject, I might need my shotgun back incase things go south, can't let the pretty boy over there die before seeing his boyfriend again."
"Alright then, so we have a scouting party." Al said, watching members of the group volunteer. "When are you all willing to make the trip out? If we're quick then we can make it in a day. I remember the route I took here and could trace it back without much of a hassle from anything but someone else." He looked at Michael who was clearly maintaining that he was still in charge here. Al didn't really have anything to say about that, he was new here and it wasn't his place to push too hard. Granted, if Michael started to throw his weight around and begin to impose rules on this group, Al might step up and say something against him for that.

"Alright then, so we have a scouting party."
"I could go too...unless Mike needs some help around his restaurant." Tory wasn't eager to leave, but she felt they'd be safer together where they could all watch out for each other. At least she'd be another set of eyes though she was still squeamish with the idea of running into anything.
"Just as long as we stay away from walkers, the baddies, and scary people who throw rocks." Tory smiled at Albert and Steph both before pretending to roll her eyes as she joked somewhat nervously. She wanted to lighten the room, she felt like she could cut the tension with a knife and while she was as worried as everyone else, smiling people always helped her feel more at ease. Tory waited for someone to tell her what to do. As long as it didn't involve anyone getting hurt, she was ready to help.
Michelle watched the others talking. She knew the group was sending people out for supplies. She looked at Kevin, face a confused state. She pointed at Stephanie and some of the others , then the door. She didn't want to be left here. She didn't want to be alone anymore. She was quiet and good at keeping herself alive.( what's going on? ) she scribbled on the paper.(I want to help) she pointed at her holster,(I can help) she looked up at Kevin. She got the feeling he was going to treat her like some porcelain doll, so fragile she would break. That was far from who Michelle was and she wanted them to know she could pull her weight.

Michael looked at his supplies he had in a large duffel bag... He could ditch some of his clothing. He then checked his guns for ammo and again heard an engine outside "I can carry a lot in my Army backpack. Standard for training and runs... Its more a case of WHEN. You can do this 'run' or we all go tonight? Every day we wait, is a day they are closer to finding this place"
Michael had a lot to carry, he would be quite immobile.
It was a rare trip for Lucy outside of the base, or HQ she had established. Her men had been patrolling the streets drawn to the noises and possible human sightings of recent weeks. She was in a Humvee as it pulled over. She looked down the streets seeing a dead walker or two near a corner cafe. She noted it down in her log book. "Drive on Specter. We have a few more sites, I am done here for now"

Every day we wait, is a day they are closer to finding this place"
Those words kept going through Stephanie's mind as everyone debated what to do, whether to send out a scouting party to this cache of Albert's or to go as an entire group. Seeing Michelle's seemingly nervous expression, she walked over to her and stood next to her. Motioning to watch her lips, she told Michelle in a very quiet voice what was going on. "We're trying to decide whether to send out a small party or whether we all go as a group," she started to tell her.
Before she could continue, she thought for a second she heard something like an engine running outside; looking over towards Michael and then Albert, she changed tact and asked, "Couple questions here. One...Albert," pausing to get her map back out, "where precisely is this cache of yours? Two, if I remember correctly, you said there was a vehicle of sorts that these supplies where at...does it still run? If we does, maybe we can use that to get off the island. Finally, whatever decision we make, we better make it soon. I coulda' swore I just heard something outside and I don't think I want to hear it again, so let's just go ahead and decide now: do we send a small group outside or do we all go outside and make a run for off the island?"
Al nodded to Tory. "Thanks for offering to help." He then turned to Stephanie, taking a step towards the map. "The cache and the truck are both right about here." He put his finger on one of the bridges. "As you can see, we could easily make it there pretty quickly if we move fast." He traced the rout he'd made to get there, tapping their current location. "Assuming no one took the truck, which hopefully they didn't, I made sure to modify it a bit, making hot wiring it a difficult task, and I have the keys. As for the rest of my loot, it's stashed in other cars on the bridge that looked like they'd already been looted." He circled the bridge with his finger. "So, do we have a plan?"
Michael turned to Kevin and told him to sort out the runs. Kevin didn’t like such a big responsibility, on the other hand it was great that Michael trusted him.
Then his attention turned to Stephanie who told them she would go with Albert, shortly followed by Roman who said he would join. Albert then replied and said they found their scouting party. Followed by him asking when the trip would take place. Mere seconds later Tory also offered to go. Before Kevin could answer his attention was drawn back to Michelle, she asked what was going on and also offered to help. He turned his face in her direction and spoke so that she could read his lips. “We are going on a supply run.” He said slowly. “And thanks for offering to help, seems like everyone want to go though.” He said with a smile. “No worries btw I know you would be able to help, I mean you survived in this horrible world on your own so I’m sure you a would be a big help.” Kevin said with a wink. He wanted to keep her safe, because he was a good guy, but he had to remind himself that she survived for this long without him too.
In the mean time Michael, Albert and Stephanie talked about the trip and started to prepare things. Kevin turned his head to the others again as he heard Albert asking if they had a plan. “So it seems like we are going as the whole group then?” Kevin asked.

Roman scratched his head with a not so cheery look on his face. All these people on a scouting run, and that's if that cache Al mentioned was still there, will move much slower than a smaller group and will bring much more attention. Everyone was all set on going but he had to voice his own opinion.
"Yeah I guess so, might not be a great idea though. The more people we bring to this the more danger we will be in. But if your stuck on the idea we could send a smaller party put first to check it out before we go in for the cache, a smart idea if the scout team gets wasted leaving some survivors."

Mike shook his head "Roman, we have to get out of here. Ive heard more cars near bye in two days than I had in two months. They suspect we are here. They may very well be watching outside right now. Whoevers left behind... or goes ahead WILL get ambushed. We are safer with all our guns together. You want 3 people Vs a Military grade scout team?"
Post by Roman Hughes on Jun 20, 2015 8:31:18 GMT -5
Roman closed his eyes and slowly started gritting his teeth. This situation was getting worse and worse it seems. The way this thing was going, a gunfight might be inevitable. He looked around at everyone, he didn't know how well everyone was good at fighting and he hoped everyone could hold their own if it did came to that. He opened them up and turned to Michael,
"Your right that might be the best option for us. We're going to need all the fire power we can get. That being said, I'm gonna need my gun back, if you don't mind."

"I'll pack my stuff if we're gonna be going soon." It sounded like there might be a fight, which was the last thing she wanted, but Mike was right that they should leave. Every vehicle that drove by sent a shiver up Tory's spine.
In the one night she had spent there the teen had scattered her few belongings around her sleeping area, but it didn't take long to collect. Tory filled her backpack and took out her gun. They may have a need for it later. I don't want to use this. She made sure it was loaded and on safety, as her dad had taught her, and contemplated what to do with it. The girl had no pockets on her shorts and the waist was too tight to tuck it, so she put it back inside her pack, slightly unzipped, so she could get at it in an emergency.
Next Tory turned her attention to her heavy duffel bag. It had brought her joy to find all those clothes, but she had to be the only girl in this world with a complete wardrobe. She grabbed a few items to keep in her backpack before carrying it, remaining clothes and all, and setting it on the table. She asked Mike innocently, "Are we taking the vehicles outside or walking? Cuz I can't carry this very far...maybe you could use the bag for your supplies and I'll leave the clothes behind?" She was saddest to see the summer dress going, but it didn't sound like she'd be able to wear it anytime soon and there'd be other stores.
"I'm ready to go when you guys are." Setting her backpack by her feet so she wouldn't have to shoulder it quite yet, Tory gave everyone a nervous smile. This hike won't be so fun... It was now a matter of listening to the adults finalize their plans and sticking close. With a little bit of hope, maybe they'd be at the bridge and on the road in a few hours.
Kevin listened to Roman as he spoke about the negative side of the plan. But Mike seemed to be sure they had to get out of there. Kevin trusted him so he supported his opinion. “Then I think we should follow Mike on this, he knows best.” Kevin said.
Shortly after Roman asked for his gun. Kevin looked at Michael and waited for him to agree on giving it back, then he would get it.
Then he watched how Tory prepared to get going. She asked some questions, but Kevin figured Michael would brief them when it was time. "Michael tell us in time." Kevin said with a wink when he looked at Tory.
