“Only doing what Michael asked.” Kevin said with a small smile, in reply to Stephanie her comment on searching them inside. Kevin gave the deaf girl a warm smile. As she passed him he could only think how hard it must have been for her to survive. Shortly after the guy introduced himself as Albert. “I’m Kevin.” He said with a smile.
After that they headed downstairs. The newcomers got greeted by Michael, who told them to turn around so Stephanie could search them. Kevin nodded in agreement, it was for the safety of the whole group.
Kevin then waited until the formalities where done. Then he once more gave the deaf girl a warm smile, he didn’t know her, but part of him just wanted to take care of her. Like he thought earlier it must have been very hard for her.
Then his attention got drawn back to the guy. He asked what was next. “I don’t think a vote is needed, it would be rude to send away fellow survivors.” He said. “That being said, Michael is the one in charge, so he should decide.” Kevin added as he smiled at Michael.

Watching both newcomers as everyone gathered around, Stephanie smiled at the new girl as she glanced at everyone; for the moment, she didn't really know what to say...hearing the new guy's comment on whether there'd be a vote on them staying, Stephanie started to say something but stopped when Kevin beat her to it....
“I don’t think a vote is needed, it would be rude to send away fellow survivors.” He said. “That being said, Michael is the one in charge, so he should decide.” Kevin added as he smiled at Michael.
"Kevin's right," she said, "it'd be rude to send away anyone," looking over towards Michael as she spoke. "But its' Michael call," she added, reminding herself of who was in charge. Before she could add anything else to what she'd said, the disheveled girl made a sound, pointing towards her bag and making a writing-type motion. Although she didn't know sign language, Stephanie did know how to interpret things like that somewhat; after a few moments of trying to figure out what she was trying to say, Stephanie picked up the girl's pack and set it up on the table. Motioning to her, she pointed to the pack and slowly - and calmly - said to her, "It's alright, go ahead and get what you need."

Mike shook his head "No voting. Voting is for secure democracies guarded by soldiers on the borders of their realm, we are in a city run by the dead and the evil." He pointed his gun down yet still in his hand.
"They can stay. But we shall not trust you until it is earnt. You may keep weapons, but if you point a gun at one of us, the rest of us will have you. You betray or leave anyone to die. And you will answer to me. Understood."
Mike may have spoken harshly but the fact was somebody had to. Besides Stephanie who he had not sized up yet. The group seemed soft, kind and trusting. Nice qualities in friends but in this current climate and with the type of people he had come across they were not the qualities of survivors.
"Understood sir." Al said, listening to Michael's instructions. It was quickly becoming apparent that this man was in charge of this group. He grabbed his things from his table, putting the smaller things back onto his belt and putting the rifle over his shoulder. "If you guys are short on supplies, I might be able to help some. It may not be a lot but I do have some stuff you guys could find useful. Gas cans and a bit more food and other stuff." Al said, moving back towards the wall. "They should still be there, I don't think I was watched and someone would have to be digging through cars pretty intensely to find them."

Michael looked outside as a car in the distance roared again "You can collect them but I would suggest we keep a low profile. We arent alone in this city, walkers and groups roam the streets. Its why we stay in the basement here"
Damon walked around the table and passed the keys to Kevin. He heard the car sound getting closer and closer. Damon peaked through his window hole again and looked back at the group "Fact remains we need to decide if we stay here or leave, and that is one of few decisions that cannot be made by one man alone. This basements safe but once the food runs out. A week, two weeks tops? We are in trouble"
The dark haired woman saw what she was after. Michelle smiled at her, and repeated the gesture from a moment ago. Thanking her. She was grateful someone was paying attention.
Michelle moved over to her back pack. She dug inside and pulled out a tablet and a pen. She scribbled quickly and held it out to the dark haired woman.(my name is Michelle) was written in a quick script. Michelle stared at her, hoping she would tell the others her name. The dark haired man was talking. Apparently, New York was not safe. Some bad group was roaming around and he said they only had food for a week, two at the most. The black duffel was full of MREs and some other things from the fort, but she wasn't quick to show anyone. She acted like she hadn't heard a word, eyes intently looking at Stephanie.

"Hello, Michelle," Stephanie replied, slowly so that Michelle could understand. "My name's Stephanie," she continued, "that's Kevin right there," pointing towards him and the others so that Michelle would know who was who, "and there's Roman right there. Next to him's Tory, and the last one there's Michael."
Before she could say anything else, she heard part of the convo between Albert and Michael over supplies and remembered her question about where they were at in the city and what was the best route to get off of Manhattan. "Michael," Stephanie asked, reaching inside her jacket to get the map she'd been looking at out. Setting it down on the table, she added, "Out of curiosity, where are we in Manhattan and if we had to leave, which way would you recommend?"
Kevin heard how Stephanie agreed with him and then turned his attention to Michael. He was glad Michael agreed with the no voting system and with letting them stay. Then he warned them that trust had to be earned and that there was a no guns pointing at each other policy.
Kevin smiled at Michael and gave him a thumb up. Michael was a stern but honest person. “I agree with what Michael says.” Kevin added.
Kevin listened to Michael and Albert, he didn’t say anything and just listened. Then Michael walked over to Kevin and passed the keys. Kevin put them in his pocket. He nodded as Michael spoke about what the next move was, staying her or not ect. “He is right, whatever we do, we need to decide.” Kevin said.
Then his attention was drawn to Stephanie the girl. Steph called her Michelle and it didn’t take Kevin long to figure out that she wrote her name down. Mere seconds later she introduced everyone. Kevin waved at the girl and smiled. “If you need anything just write it down and we will help you.” He said trying his best to over articulate so she could read the words.
Then he heard how Stephanie once more asked to point on the map where they were. Kevin wasn’t sure if Michael was going to answer that question, since he liked to keep the restaurant hidden on the map. So he just looked at both them and waited for Michael to speak.

Michael circled on the map where they are MAP(Corner Bistro is an Italian family's restaurant in our game), he then circled the three bridges off of Manhattan. "We are here, and Soho and Midtown are the more dangerous areas. We can take 74 on to Newport as an escape. The bridge is quite clear... No structural damage and less walkers than Midtown. Midtowns also where you will find the groups near the Empire State Building"
Mike counted the room "Cars... we cant all fit in a small car"
Al looked at the map and watched Michael's planning. "We might not all fit in a small car, but we might be able to fit everyone in a small car and my truck." He took a step forward. "I left it parked on that bridge there." He pointed at the map towards the bridge where his trucked was parked. "I know you said Soho was dangerous, but I stuck to the edge of the island for a little ways and managed to not run into much trouble. If any of you are willing, I could lead some of you there so we can bring the truck and supplies back." He looked at the rest of the room, waiting to see their reaction.

"I know you said Soho was dangerous, but I stuck to the edge of the island for a little ways and managed to not run into much trouble. If any of you are willing, I could lead some of you there so we can bring the truck and supplies back."
Tory remained quietly in the background for most of the conversation except to offer a wave and a smile to Michelle as Steph introduced them all. She hadn't thought of the disabled...That must be hard.
As the group peered over a map, the short teen watched silently over Steph's shoulder or rather, around it as her height wouldn't allow the former. When Albert and Michael began to discuss bridges, she connected the dots in her mind before gracefully stepping forward and pointing to the Newport bridge. "Actually, we drove North to get here so that means I must have came from that bridge as well and Steph could have found me in Soho. I left a car on the bridge there too..." The slightly naive girl grinned softly as she continued. "...and I left the keys in the ignition in case somebody else needed it. I scratched it up pretty bad, but it runs fine I think. Could we all squeeze into two cars?"
Tory wasn't sure if she wanted to leave the basement, but Michael made it clear they really didn't have much of another choice. She didn't like his comment about democracies, but he seemed like a very capable leader and she could see there was a kind and caring side to the toughness. All the same, Tory hoped he wouldn't have her help retrieve the vehicles. Walkers and bad people weren't exactly the girl's forte and she worried she'd slow them down.

Roman quietly listened from his spot on the stairs as they finished up what they would do with the newcomers and we're now deciding on how to relocate. He softly made his way next to Clark to look at the map and tried to rack his brain on how he got there as well. He remember the bridges he walked on to get there had a ton of cars in the street so maybe their vehicles will still be there.
"I think I got here through Soho too, but I don't remember seeing those cars around if I looked around. But we're thinking of getting vehicles we should atleast bring like a scout or something to check if the cars are still there and if any walkers are roaming around there.
He thought about it for a second, his foldable bike is still on the side of that blue car out front of the restaurant. Roman alone could zip through the streets and be over there faster than a group of people could.
"I still have my bike outside, if there aren't any volunteers I can go and check it out. Better to just risk one person than a whole group."
Michelle smiled at Stephanie. She was nice and seemed to really be trying. As Stephanie pointed out and spoke the names of the others, Michelle paid close attention to her lips and then the faces of those she pointed out. She could hear everything being said, buy didn't react to what Micheal and Albert were saying.
When Kevin waved at her, she smiled and moved over to him. She held the tablet and wrote things down.(I have food in the duffel bag, Ito share.) she stared up at Kevin. Big blue eyes looked at his face as she tapped on the tablet to get his attention. Stephanie was talking things over with the others. They all wanted to leave New York. She couldn't blame them, not one bit. She had been lucky to get this far in the city.
Michelle glanced at Albert and the others. She could show them where the truck over turned and tell them about the other supplies of the fort, but why? They would do what they wanted anyone, right?

Michael looked at the map for a minute "Car or no Car that bridge needs crossing. It would be wiser if we could reach the Bridge quietly and at first light, the patrols are lower at 0700 hours because its a shift change" Mike began making a mental inventory looking around counting his medical supplies, ammunition and food "But its a lot to carry on foot"

"But its a lot to carry on foot"
"You said Kevin has a car when we first got here, and there's the Humvee outside." thought Tory out loud,"Could we take those to the bridge? They have room for stuff."
As much as she didn't want to go outside, she didn't want Roman or Steph or anyone to go out on the streets alone. They'd be better leaving as a group, safer. She was happy to be actually contributing to the group, even if it was only ideas. The girl had been observant on the fear filled trip to the restaurant; now as they debated the prospects of leaving, the teen felt that fear slowly creeping back. Tory had to know; she asked timidly, "Mike, how bad are these people, the group you keep talking about?"
Post by Michael Guarnere on Jun 9, 2015 16:42:16 GMT -5
Michael shook his head as Tory asked about the other groups in the city "Very bad... They are run by some woman, a suit. Never seen her but heard stories bout those who run Midtown and Soho. They operate on slave labor. They catch VULNERABLES... women, Children... they keep them, make them work, use them for other purposes" he had referenced rape in that last statement.
"And men... unless you are a friend or have something of great value they deal with you in MANY bad ways. They used my neighbours as walker bait, use some as a deterant in a wall of walkers... If your lucky. They kill you on sight"
Michael pointed to all the key roads on the map "They have watch posts, cars on patrol and enough men to patrol the city"
Post by Tory Bournell on Jun 9, 2015 17:12:50 GMT -5
Tory tensed as Michael spoke. Other purposes? She didn't like the sound of that. Why had she even asked? Did she really think knowing would ease her fears? Tory quietly backed up closer to Steph. The teen trusted the woman to watch her most of them all.
One thing was certain, she didn't feel as safe in even the basement anymore. What if they find us? They didn't have anyone watching while they slept, did they? Tory glanced at the door as if someone might come through it at any moment. Her mind was set as quickly as that, they had to leave, to find somewhere safe.

Listening to Michael talk about the bad groups in Manhattan sent chills down Stephanie's spine...and I thought things were bad before the walkers began roaming the earth, she thought. "Well," she mused, "whatever we decide on, we need to do it. If we can get to that bridge, the one in Newport, let's cross it and see where we go from there." While she didn't relish the thought of leaving the relative safety of the restaurant for parts unknown, she also didn't relish being a slave either..
Kevin watched Michael and the map as he explained where the restaurant was. Then he asked about the cars. “I don’t think that’s a problem, I have a car, Stephanie has one, so we should be good right?” Kevin asked
Then he heard Albert telling Michael he also owned a truck. “There we go, enough solutions.” Kevin said with a smile. Mere seconds later Tory also said she left a car on the bridge.
“There, now we have too many cars and not enough people.” Kevin joked.
After that Roman said he wanted to go check it out if needed. “No I don’t think we should sacrifice anyone, we could go as group and protect each other if we really want to.” Kevin said. “At least that is what I think.” He added with a little smile.
Just then Kevin his attention was drawn to Michelle who was next him tapping the tablet. “Oh sorry, next time just give me a little punch.” He said with a wink. He already liked this girl. After giving her another warm smile he looked at the tablet, she wanted to share her food. “That’s really kind, I’ll tell Michael later on, for now we are good on food anyways, but again really kind.” He said with a smile. Then he turned back to Michael as he said it would be a lot to carry. “Yeah might be a lot indeed, only solution I know is grabbing as much as you can carry.” Kevin replied.
Then Tory once more reminded Michael that there were cars enough, so that would also be a solution to carry as much stuff as possible. Then she asked about the bad group that ruled New York.
Kevin listened to Tori, Michael and Steph as they spoke about the idea of leaving. “We need to think this through, don’t make decisions too fast.” Kevin said in a rather serious tone. “I know that they are bad, since Michael just told us what they are capable of.” He added. “But, we are hidden, so if we watch our steps, they won’t find us, at least not any time soon.” He said. “So we can think about this.” He said finishing what he thought about the plan.
"If we want to hold out here for a little while, then I suggest at least a supply run. I'll take one or two of you back to my truck, we grab the gas, we get back. It shouldn't take more then a day to get there in back." Al said, just pitching ideas to the group. "It's not a whole lot of gas, but it's rare enough that I say it's worth the run." He looked at the rest of the group, seeing what they had to say about his proposition.
