Michael nodded to Kevin as to returning Romans gun. He grabbed his back pack and looked at Tory "You pack one spare pair of clothing and the rest should be supplies such as food and ammo, if you have any common medical supplies I have some resealable bags in the drawers... Leaving the meds in boxes takes up space..."
He was labeling bags he had and emptying the Army Medics kit he and Kevin took from a walker for what would be necessary.
Michael saw Tory seemed slightly disheartened. "If theres an item you want to keep, a luxury for example. I have one secret compartment left in my pack I may be able to keep it inside..."
He offered a small smile although this was something uncommon for him. He knew that morale was just important as meds to survival at times. It could be a sickness that would sweep through the group.
Al listened as Michael explained how items were being sorted out, clearly this guy liked to maintain order and efficiency. To him if it wasn't practical, it wasn't coming. Al however, was not Michael and Tory was just a girl. As Michael tried to raise morale, Al tapped Tory on the shoulder. "If you got a few things you absolutely can't part with, I got some extra room in my back I'm sure we can squeeze them in." He said, tapping his hand on his own pack to prove that point, smiling warmly.

Listening to Al's comments about where his truck and his supply cache was located at, she chuckled quietly at his remark about having made it more difficult to hot-wire the vehicle. "Al, it can't be difficult to hotwire a vehicle," she said quietly to him. "The Humvee outside...I hotwired that beast yesterday and got it run; if you can do that to a Humvee, everything else is smooth."
Then she heard Michael talk about having heard more vehicles drive by outside the restaurant. "Thought I wasn't the only one who was hearing things...and Michael's right, everyone: if we split up and go in separate groups, its' not going to end well. We go together, at the same time..." pausing to look at both Tory and Michelle and add, "and we stick together, no matter what."

Tory was pleasantly surprised at Michael's smile and even more at the tap on her shoulder. Offering a warm grin of her own, she retrieved the summer dress and pair of flats from the top of the bag and gave it to Albert along with a small hug. "Thanks." Speaking to no one in particular as she emptied the bag onto the table for Mike, she added, "I'll leave the rest here in case somebody else finds this place and needs clothes."
Tory listened attentively as Steph spoke before giving her a polite, "Yes mam." She too could hear the cars; every engine sound sent a fresh shiver down her spine. Not wanting to be in the way, she left her pack and meandered to the cupboards where she started stacking cans and other food items that looked like they might be necessary on the counter so that Michael and the others might be able to finish packing faster. The short teen couldn't reach the upper shelves, but Tory figured doing anything to help was better than nothing.
Michelle stared at Stephanie, then looked at Kevin and Tory. They were leaving, all of them. She moved over and got her pack and slipped it on. The holster slipped back around her waist. She wasn't going to be left here, besides, she could do far more to help them than they thought.
She had avoided people for a long time, but Bernard and Mick showed her that she could help people. She listened as they all spoke about leaving and the best plan, ignoring the words, not showing a sign that she heard them.
Slowly she let her gaze drift from one to the next. Michelle slipped over to Kevin and took the tablet from his hand, sliding it into her pack. Her eyes stared up at him, then looked at the door. She took his hand and then pointed at Stephanie. She wanted to be with those two, and she pointed at Tory as well. . She truly thought a large group would draw too much attention, being solitary was how she slipped past most of the dead, so far.

Michael had his pack but began placing supplies uunpacked in his lockable storage "Anything you cant carry shove in here... Never know if we may return" Michael was checking his ammo and if the safety was off on his weapons "We need our guns together but we move between vehicles and buildings. No walking up the street, no noise and little chatter we can snoop outta the city and to safety. Any objections?"

Hearing Michael's words, Stephanie checked both her pistol and shotgun, making sure both were loaded and ready to go...though, in her mind, she'd be happy if she didn't have to use them. Setting both weapons down, she checked her backpack one last time; satisfied everything was in order, she set the backpack down next to her.
Looking around at the others, she saw Michelle point towards her; pointing back towards her, Stephanie whispered to her, "Stick with us...we'll make it out there."
Kevin nodded back to Michael, then went out of the room for a sec and came back with Roman his shotgun. He handed it to Roman. “There no scratch on it, like you asked.” Kevin said with a smile.
Kevin listened to Albert and Stephanie as they gave sort of what the plan was and made sure to mention the group had to stay together. Just then Kevin felt how Michelle took the tablet from his hands and watched her take his hand. “We’ll keep each other safe, as a group!” he said with a smile. Then he looked at Michelle. “We look out for each other out there ok?” he asked with a smile as he softly pinched her hand to let her know he was happy with her company.
Kevin also noticed how she pointed at Stephanie and Tory. “No worries we’ll all stay together.” Kevin said softly still with his smile. Then he turned to Michael as he gave some extra tips on how how to move, or rather commands. “No objections from me and I’ll follow your lead.” Kevin answered.
Kevin smiled as Steph also replied to Michelle. “See, it will all be fine, if we all keep each other safe.” Kevin said.

"Why thank you kindly sir,"
Roman gave smile back to Kevin as he returned his gun. He wiped a little bit of dust of the engraving on the barrel that read, "Uncle Red's" which prompted him to smile before pulling the gun strap over his shoulder. He had everything else in his bag already good to go so he just put it on his back and grabbed those wireless headphones he placed snugly over his neck. He of course couldn't really use them but they were more of a good luck charm he always carried.
He looked around at everyone else getting prepped and smiled, a few weeks ago he was just on his own trying not to be walker food and also not trying to lose his mind being alone but now. He was with some cool people he couldn't imagine of meeting if someone asked him, if they didn't try shooting at him anyway.
Roman made sure his shotty was still fully loaded and pumped it once before turning to Michael.
"I think we're ready when you are. All I care about is us making it in once piece and hopefully we don't have to bust any caps today, if you know what I mean?"

Michael was ready now and chucked Albert the keys to lock the place up "Albert, you seem to handle yourself well, take the rear. Ill be on point with Kevin... Stephanie you watch the rest and take the middle of the group" Michael had his backpack with his rifle disassembled inside. He had his handgun in hand and a knife on him.
He headed outside and looked left and right before crossing towards the alleyway on the other side of the street. He waited to be followed signalling the coast was clear.
Michelle felt Kevin grip her hand. A little squeeze of reassurance. She looked at him , and heard the others. A large group attracted attention.
She listened but couldn't react. She couldn't say anything, or give herself away. Michelle held Kevin's hand tight. They were all gonna get themselves killed. What had she gotten herself in to?
Michelle glanced over at Stephanie and then the others. They were all ready to follow Micheal out that door. They needed to split up. Form smaller groups, give themselves a better chance. She needed them to see. Michelle didn't want to lose anymore survivors.

As Michael explained the plan, Tory shouldered her pack and carefully adjusted the straps. She had butterflies in her stomach, but not the warm fuzzy kind. She suddenly wanted to puke, but held herself together leaving only her face to show her nervousness.
Tory stayed close to Roman as they left, she figured Michelle would stick with Steph who was watching over all three of them. It seemed kinda crazy that the buddy system had outlasted human civilization. The teen wanted to make light conversation but didn't say a word as she looked ahead; they had to be quiet.
The girl bid her new home a last farewell in her mind before crossing the street. They'd make it to the bridge unscathed, the adults would make sure of it. While she earnestly believed this, her mind was a scattered mess as they crossed the road. Tory jumped at the sound of a rock being kicked, probably from her own foot, but as they reached Michael she let out a quiet sigh of relief. Had she been holding her breath the entire time?

Michael was ready now and chucked Albert the keys to lock the place up "Albert, you seem to handle yourself well, take the rear. Ill be on point with Kevin... Stephanie you watch the rest and take the middle of the group"
"Gotcha," Stephanie said, hoisting her backpack over one shoulder before sliding the other side over her other shoulder. Making sure her pistol was within easy grasp, she loaded up her shotgun and slung it over her shoulder and headed outside with the rest of the group. As she watched Michael cross the street and waited for Kevin to cross, she kept an eye on the street, looking both ways to make sure no one caught sight of them making a break for it. Tapping Michelle on the shoulder, Stephanie motioned for her to watch her lips, whispering, "I'm gonna cross the street, then when I get to the other side, I'm gonna watch, make sure its' clear and then I'm gonna' signal for you to cross. When I signal, you cross - don't stop, don't hesitate, just run over to where I'm at. When you get over, get behind me and we'll wait for the others to cross, okay," smiling at Michelle for a moment in an effort to calm any sideways nerves.
Looking over towards Tory, she repeated the same instructions she'd just given Michelle. "Tory," she whispered, "As soon as Kevin crosses and the coast in clear, I'm gonna cross. When its' safe to do so, I'm gonna' signal Michelle," pointing towards Michelle for a moment. "As soon as she crosses and its' safe to do so, I'm gonna signal for you to cross. Same thing as with Michelle: when I signal, you cross and you don't stop until you get to where we're at, alright?
"Once you're across, we'll signal for both Albert and Roman to cross; once they're across, we'll continue along behind Michael and keep going." After a moment, she put a friendly hand on Tory's shoulder and added, "Hey, we're going to do alright; just take things one step at a time, got it?"
Albert caught the keys and put them in his pocket as he went to checking his gear. He spun the cylinder of his revolver and returned it to it's holster and checked to make sure his rifle was fully loaded before throwing his pack on. He followed the group as they left their temporary shelter and pulled the door shut and locked it behind him. He kept a watch, back and forth to check for anything coming. Once the rest of the group was crossed, Al followed, keeping his eyes trained on the city around him, looking for movement. Once he was across, he waited for where Michael would lead them next.

This was probably one of the few moments Roman was actually quiet and didn't have that contagious smile on his face. He had a firm grip on his gun as he followed the front group till they had to cross the street. As soon as Tory and Michelle were on the other side once it was clear he, bolted down to some cars next to their position and covered Al's back while he was crossing. Once everyone was there he kept a close eye on the nearest buildings for potential ambush sights and even exits if they decide they need to book it somewhere safe. Roman also kept his ears open for the sounds of car engines invade any got too close for comfort.

Michael waas aware some of the group were still crossing. He noticed Tory was breathing heavy so waited a second, he smiled "Trust me, Ive lived here 7 years now, I know these streets. Do as I say and you'll be alright"
Michael moved down the alleyway keeping low until he reached the next street which was polluted with cars. He motioned for the rest to follow and once he had looked left and right they only had two walkers who were a threat.
Whilst crouched he crept between the cars and with his knife stabbed one in the back of the head. He then used his gun which had a silencer equipped to shoot the other dead.
Mike had reached the other side of the road and looked at the street sign "About four blocks west, three North to the bridge from here" He listened and still could hear no cars or movement in the vicinity. "There scouting routes have an L spray painted on buildings. Keep an eye out he said quietly for those who could here"
Michelle stared at Stephanie's mouth as she heard the woman explain the plan. she didn't want to let go of Kevin's hand, but she had no choice. She watched him cross, watched Stephanie go as well. She glanced at Tory, then saw the signal from Stephanie and ran as fast as she could. She grabbed Stephanie when she got to her. Tory followed her just like they planned.
Michelle looked at Kevin, then Stephanie, then Tory. She reached out and took Tory's hand, giving it a little squeeze. She was scared, and doing her best to hide it. Micheal said he knew the streets. God she hoped so. Things had changed since the word went crazy. She stared at his face as he spoke to the others, those who could hear him. She still wasn't sure. She had trusted Mick, and look how that had turned out. Those blue eyes of hers stared over at Kevin. Michelle grabbed his arm, and shrugged out of her pack. The vest that Mick had gave her at the fort was in it. She pulled it out and shoved it at him. She zipped the pack and shrugged it back on. She took back ahold of Tory's hand and looked at Kevin, then Stephanie. Her eyes stared at them, then she looked at Micheal and Albert, and Roman. This was her group now, she would do what she could to help them. Trust them, that was the first thing she needed to do, and she was trying. She waited for Micheal to lead, knowing he and Kevin were in point and Roman and Albert were bringing up the rear.

"Hey, we're going to do alright; just take things one step at a time, got it?"
"Yeah, thanks." Steph's words helped to calm Tory, but her worries remained. She simply nodded as Michael spoke and Michelle grabbed her hand. As they continued down the alley, however, her fear began to slowly dissipate. They had experienced people and Tory couldn't hear any vehicles; the silence was comforting. As scary as it was, she did enjoy seeing new sights and the empty city made for interesting views.
The short teen's converse clad feet fell in a rhythm as they began traveling again; she stepped quietly and carefully but held her eyes in the direction they were traveling minus a few glances here and there. She scanned as they crossed the street but it didn't do her much good as she couldn't see far over the tops of abandoned cars.
Tory listened intently to Michael when they stopped for another moment. Only 7 blocks? If city blocks were anything like the size of her own hometown, they didn't have much further. She softly pinched Michelle's hand with her own she was holding and gave her a warm smile. Holding up seven fingers she whispered 'only seven more blocks' in case the women next to her couldn't catch what Michael was saying. They'd make it, all of them. A group of pigeons passing them from above caught the girl's eye, she hoped that was a sign of clear roads ahead.
Rebecca ran down another Alleyway following her father. The men chasing them could be heard in the distance. And now they were trapped in a small building. She looked up at her dad "Dad... What... what are we going to do now"
Steve looked around the room hearing the men get closer he looked at the bookcase seeing an opening behind it. Moving the bookcase, he threw his gun and the backpack through before forcing Becky out "Go on Becky... Ill be right be..."
Becky was outside and turned around looking to help her dad through the hole. Her dad was lying on the ground his eyes looked straight at her with a bullet through his throat. Choking he held eye contact and tried to speak "g... go... n,n,n,now"
Becky shook her head looking as the light left his eyes. She cried and shook her head but heard the men getting closer, the voices getting louder. "Bye dad..." She moved the shelf from outside to cover the hole the best she could quickly and as quietly and ran away knowing the men would be onto her quickly. She panted and panted knowing she had to reach the bridge.
(The group can not see her yet. Just an introduction to the thread post)
Al kept bringing up the tail end of the group, hearing the distance they'd have to travel he remembered his own trek to where he found the group, it sounded about right. The group seemed to still be in relatively good spirits, which was good, and Tory seemed to be keeping Michelle informed. Then he heard the shot. It was quiet and far off, but clearly a gun shot. He cursed as he looked at the rest of the group, wondering if they'd heard it too. He just hoped whoever fired the shot wouldn't come find that, and that whatever they were shooting at was hit. (That's the shot that killed Rebecca's dad)
