"You're a challenge because this isn't normal for him. Staying in one place, not constantly moving," Brian said looking at her, "Max is a traveller, always has been. He doesn't like to sit at one place for to long. He feels safer when everyone is constantly moving." He took a breath and watched her take a bite. "He doesn't run when thing get serious. He may be more distant than most people but her won't run. He's more respectable than that. This isn't normal for him but he'll push through it. He's not going to run anywhere. He may need his space, and you should give him that. If you trap him and keep him here them he'll want to be free. If you give him freedom he won't know what to do, but he will stay." Brian looke away, "Max cares for you, this child, if there even is a child, will make him stay. He won't abandon it. That not who he is. I've seen him care for kids. Seen him loose people. He won't let that happen again."
Abby sat and picked off pieces of her toast and ate them. She listened to Brian, hell, he probably knew Max better than anyone.
After he stopped, Abby stared at him," I hope you're right,,but forgive me if I am not buying all of it, you know him, I know that, but I know what he has said. He flipped out when he thought I was knocked up weeks ago when we found the fort. " she finished the tea and ate about half the toast. She looked over at Brian," if you aren't going to stop me, I think I am gonna try and go find him." Abby pushed back from the table and stood looking at Brian," I even ate, so I am being good, but I need to go check and see if I can find him, before it gets dark."
"Well I'd offer to come with you, but I can't move that well," Brian said moving off the stool, "you'd be best to take someone with you. Kira, Sam, Dean, or Jay. Take someone." He paused, "don't go off on your own, that's how things go bad." He wasn't going to stop her, even if he thought he should. Abby was a grown woman, able to think on her own. She ran the farm with the others, but he would question her actions, that was the least he could do.
"What do you expect to find," he asked, "if Max is safe he'll be back when he gets back. If he's not, you're going to need much more than yourself. A gun at least." Brian leaned on the counter, "I know Max may have freaked out, but you aren't seeing what he's seeing. He didn't want a kid, sure who does, what man does, ecspecially in this world. But that doesn't mean he won't love it, or love you with it. Max lives in the moment, just who he is. You'll learn that about him. We haven't been deprecated long, but he has changed since I was with him. He is taking more responsibly. That's because of you."
Abby just stood there, she didn't know what to do. She felt she needed to find him. She needed to talk to him. To make sure he was okay with all this. She was scared, scared he wasn't handling this well at all. She stared at Brian," I don't know, I'm just worried. Maybe you're right. I should just wait. " she shrugged," maybe it's my own worries that have me on edge." She glanced at Kira and Louis," thanks for the tea and toast." She needed to just relax,"I will give it a little longer, see if he comes back, if not I will go looking and maybe get Dante to go with me."
"Yes, Dean would be a good choice. He needs the fresh air to clear his head. I haven't even seen him around. These last few weeks have been tough for him. Seeing his friend, choose that monster over him, and his other one dead," Brian said quietly, "it's been tough, he's working through it though. Lots of crying, depression I think. I think him getting out there with you would be a big help."
Brian moved on his crutches. "But give it a bit. I don't know what's going on, or what Charles has planned now. I think he should adress what just happened, clear the air. Talk to us as the leader, all of you should. You're all the leaders, you Sarah, Max, Charles, all leader. We need order and reassurance."
"Originally I think We were supposed to be leaving today, but with everything that just happened we are going to need to talk to the others, let them know what is going on. Let them see that I haven't lost it. They will be worried."
He pulled her into him for a second. He knew that she probably needed the comforting and he also had to admit that he did too. Though he had plans for the future he missed the days when it was just the two of them, facing off against the dead, and occasionally the living. They made an amazing team. Even if Sarah always doubted her own skills. She never would have been able to make it this long if she wasn't capable. People that didn't have skills didn't survive in this world. It was as simple as that. You were either built for this world, or you died.
"You went through hell Sarah, no one should expect you to be at one hundred percent. Hell I don't think anyone would surprised if you were a mess like some of the other girls. Well I would be surprised but that is because I know you, know what you are capable of. You struggle with this world, I know, but you never would have made it this long if you were weak. Let me tell you something that I should have told you a long time ago. When I'm feeling weak, or like it is all too much and I don't want to do it anymore... I look to you. I see how you are struggling with what is going on around us, and how you are fighting against it. You are my beacon of hope Sarah."
Abby stared at him," Charles can handle that, him and Sarah. I mean Max isn't even here." That had her pacing. She kept glancing at the door. " I am gonna go find Dean and see if he will even come with me, if I go look for him." Abby glanced at Brian," I am sure Charles is going to do that, he's usually always handling stuff." She glanced at the door. " I'm going to go and look for Dean,I will talk to you later." She left out the rear door. She totally forgot she had told Jay to come find her after he checked his bike.
Sarah felt his arms around her, but she didn't move. She let him hold her. He said she had been through hell, and spoke about how strong she was. He said he looked to her, that she gave him hope. Sarah wasn't sure she was capable of being anyone's hope right now. She looked up at him," Charles, you give me strength, you always know what to do." She lifted up a bit and kissed him," I will get myself together, I don't like what this experience has done to me." She frowned and the. Lifted her hands to his face," okay, we need to go and you need to talk with the others, explain why you did what you did, so they understand." Sarah slipped back from him and let her hand slip into his," and you can tell Amber Thant you will go tomorrow. I want to have a night to say goodbye and to be alright with you leaving me again."

After fixing his bike, Jay stretching his back and decided to go and find Abby. He started to walk towards the house to find her when he saw her walking out. He ran over to her.
Abby stopped as Jay came up to her. He said he was finished with his bike. Shit! She had forgot she told him to come and help her in the cellar when he was finished. Her eyes stared at him for a moment." Jay, you wouldn't know where Dean is, would you? Max went out to check some traps, and I am a little worried. Brian said if I go looking for him I should take Dean with me." She said it all in a rush.
She was tired and really just wanted to talk to Max, to see how he really felt. Just them, without a big audience." Charlie is going to have to get out here and talk to people, explain why he did what he did, Brian feels it would be the best thing to do, while I look for Dean would you go to the barn and get him and Sarah, tell them.I need to talk to them before I go out to look for Max?"

Amber leaned on the wall of the far shed, Georgia beside her. Becky sat on the grass and Sam layed beside her. They say in silence, even Sam ceasing to talk. There was nothing to say. The bodies stacked up before them, piled up.
A gas canister sat at Ambers feet and she resteda leg up on it. She took a deep breath. They were waiting for Charles, needed to see if they foud any other bodies before they begun to burn them.
"So who's going tomorrow," Becky asked looking up, "I for one would love to go, if there's room."
"I'd go too," Ggeorgia said, "if you have the room."
"We need transport for the way back. We don't know how many peple they have, but we need open spaces," Amber said, "I was thinking it would just be me and Charles, but Becky can come as well. She know the people, would work better that way. Plus you're a skilled shot Georgia, you could help keep the farm safe."
"I'll let Amber know that we are leaving tomorrow. I get it Sarah, I do. You can't expect yourself to be fine after what happened. Don't be too hard on yourself."
He enjoyed the momentary kiss and was about to say that he agreed that they should be getting out of there when there was a knock at the barn door. He almost laughed when he heard the kids voice. Why the hell was he knocking on the door. The barn had been a public space since the girls had come back, hell, even before then.
"Yeah I'm in here Jay."
He let his hand fall out of Sarah's and walked towards the door. It was about time they addressed what had happened. Granted he would like to let it go but he knew that there was no way that he could just do so. He had heard the fear in Sam's voice. He needed everyone to know that they were not in danger themselves. They needed to know that what had happened was a response to the danger and not something that he did without some amount of regret.
Sarah smiled at him. He was always making her feel better. "I know." She heard the knock and followed behind him towards the door. When she heard Jay , she frowned. She glanced at Charles. Something was wrong, maybe. Jay was usually doing his own thing, and if he came looking for them...
Charles figured someone sent him. That would make sense, but why? She glanced at the area beyond the boy and spotted Abby walking towards the shed. She made a mental note to check on her later, but they did need to find amber and have that talk with the others.

"Abby." Jay chirped as he watched the two walked. He had always liked charles, mainly because of how nice he has been to him. Charles also reminded him of his father before this whole end of the world happened.
"Alright, let's see if we can't get people together to get this out of the way."
He walks out of the barn and quickly finds Amber. She looked like she had calmed down a bit, or at least that was his perception of how she looked. He got her attebtion quickly and then spoke.
"Alright, let's get everyone together. I would like you up there with me to talk to everyone. I'll say what needs to be said and then we can open the floor to questions. The barn may be best for the meeting since it has some open space. Otherwise we can do it outside. You ready for this?"

Jay had followed Charles to Amber quietly. He kept his eyes downcasted, not wanting to look anyone in the eye. It was already unnerving for him to be around others other than Charles and Abby, mostly because they make him fill a part of the group.

Amber looked up when she heard somone coming. She then looked back at the bodies, piled up. "You thought Jay would be okay seeing this," she asked, "we waited to burn them, incase you had found more." She looked back down at the pile, Art was clearly visible on top, his face lifeless and empty. She looked at Georgia who nodded pouring a small pinch of gasoline on the bodies. Amber then struck a match and dropped it on, watching the flames erupt, engulfing the bodies.
"This will start to stink if we stay close," she said, "the barn and the field in front of the house would be a good place to hold a meeting." She watched Sam and Becky start to leave the group, away from the burning corpses. Amber turned to follow, hoping the others would too. "We should continue this conversation, away from here. I'll puke at the smell of burnt hair."
She followed along, "a meeting would be good. You should have Sarah, Abby, and Max up there aswell. You four are the leaders," Amber said looking at the two, Sarah and Charles.
Georgia spoke up, "the barn may be crowded. With the cots and the tarps set up. It's not that open anymore."
"The front lawn would be better than," Amber said, "have you four on the porch and everyone else below."
Amber, Sarah still didn't trust that woman. She wanted to, but something just seemed to rub her wrong. Sarah had followed behind Charles, silent for the most part. She didn't like him leaving again, and honest, her mouth was silent, but her mind was talking to God. Asking him to keep Charlie safe and bring him home to her again. Asking him to give Charles guidance and to watch over his decisions.
When Amber questioned if Jay should see this, her hands rose and rested on Jay's shoulders," Jay is not a child, not anymore in the world and pretty sure he has seen and been through worse." Sarah gently squeezed his shoulders. She had never treated him like a kid.
She listened to Amber talk about having this meeting. She would do whatever Charlie needed her to do.
