Abby headed inside and stopped in the kitchen. She smiled at Kira," Jay needs some food, can you hook him up?" She looked at Jay," go on and eat then come down and help me with those boxes." She went through the kitchen door that led down to the cellar. She and Sarah had done a lot of work down here. Organizing the food, and shelving what they found that was still good among the preserves.

Amber walked through the trees moving further along the perimeter. Georgia and Becky followed close, Sam lagging behind. "Pick up the pace," she yelled back to Sam, "we're leaving you in the dust."
"I just can't believe he killed him. Charles killed him," Sam said looking down, "who's next? Will he kill us? Are we safe here?"
Amber looked at him, "we're safe. I'll keep us safe. You're my family, all of you. If the farm falls then we'll leave. If not we'll stay here."
Georgia looked at the pair. "I hope I would added some where into this famil plan of yours."
"Of course, as would Kira, Abby, Sarah, Charles, and Max. I do not suspect it to fall, but if it does I want to be ready," Amber said looking ahead.
"Where would we go next," Becky asked
"We'd get Thad, Riley, and Walker. From there we'd find a place to fortify, keep isolated from others. Brian expressed a plan of going to do some comunity islands, as was his original plan with another group, Amber said pointing. "Have a sinner of to the side. Lonesome, no signs of imprisonment." She stepped forward with he knife, "cover me." She brought the knife to its head, droping it to the ground. "Sam Becky, why don't you drag this back with the others. Georgia and I will keep moving along."
---
Kira looked at Abby, "so do you," she said getting a plate or breakfast for Jay, "Louis said to remind you again. I went up and you didn't even touch your plate." She placed the plate on the counter for Jay and smiled.

"Thanks." Jay chirped before grinning back and digging into the food he was given. He savored each bite he took. It has been long since he had a really good meal like this one.
Abby shook her head at Jora." Just not hungry." She glanced at Jay as she headed down to the cellar. Where was Max? How long did it take to check a few traps? She didn't want to eat and she had a feeling if this kept up they were gonna start forcing her.

Amber pulled the knife from thebsinner and watched it fall. "That's one, seems like we got lucky. I doubt Art would have kept any besides the one you saw chained. He was a coward and wouldn't risk it further if he had to." She moved away from the corpse. "If I had to guess, I'd say there may be some chained further in the woods, or at a different farm."
"Can't be," Georgia said moving with her gun, "Art never left the farm. Or at least for long enough to go someplace else. Longest he was not being watched was this morning, but that's because we were still getting up."
"He could have left during the night. He didn't sleep in the house like the rest of us, he was in the barn with the others," Amber said looking at Georgia, "did you see him leave?"
"No, we would have noticed, someone was on watch every night."
"Then it's possible that was the last of them. Could mean that was his first time doing that, in which case we got lucky." Amber leaned on a tree and let out an sigh of exhaustion, "that was the last of ther perimeter, we should start heading back," she said looking at Georgia, "lead the way."
----------
Kira looked at Abby and sighed, if she didn't want to eat then that was on her. Let her and the possible baby die of starvation. "Don't eat then. But you really should, you could get sick, you need the nourishment." She went over the the counter and began whiping a spill, "just think about eating something. We have food to spare, can make nearly everything."
Sarah seemed to calm down quickly enough and for that Charles was relieved. He didn't want to have to head off problems within the group. He was certain that they would have enough problems outside the group and if the idea that had been perculating in his mind was ever going to happen he would need to show that he could control his own people.
"I get that Sarah. It has been just us for so long and it worked. Mostly because you never question my leadership."
He laughed a little at that. It was true, he liked to be in command, more than that he had been raised for command. His father had always pushed him into leadership positions, never contemplating any other way of life for his son.
"I don't necessarily like running things by Amber either. She is a good leader though, and she will learn. We will too though, we will learn to live with people again. We have to. Surviving on our own can only last so long, we need to start living and people are important for that."
He looked through the stalls, luckily it seemed that Arthur had not been stupid enough to chain any growers up in here.
"Sarah, I want to tell you something, it has been working around in my head since we got back."
He leaned in and whispered in her ear. His voice low enough so that only she would hear him. He wasn't ready for every one to know what he was thinking and so he kept it for her only.
"That is why we need to learn to deal with people again. If we don't it will never work. Maybe, just maybe, we stand a chance."
Sarah stood very still as he spoke to her. Her face a blank expression as she listened to him. She knew all he said was true. When he found her, she had seen his badges and certifications. A soft sigh left her lips.
He was still standing close and she reached her hand up and laid it over his heart. " I know, I understand. I will do whatever you ask of me, like always." She gave him a smile and then kissed his cheek." I haven't been myself, I know, and the idea of you leaving again , it worries me,I'm sorry." She looked at his face and then gave him a smile " you trust her, then I will trust her." She glanced at the door," this place is safe, you are leaving in the morning, right?" She wanted to make sure she had some time with him before he left. " I will make sure Louis fixes a good meal for dinner." She was trying to act normal, to seem like his leaving didn't scare the hell out of her.

Amber walke back with Georgia at her side. They had covered the rest of the permiter and we're heading back. She ducked through trees as she made her way back to the shed the bodies were at.
"Let's pull them into that clearing," she said just a few feet off. "Away from the farm and crops. Don't need and uncontrolled fire on our hands." She looked the body ontop of Art, frowning for a second. She had almost forgotten this was her fault. She should have put someone on him, he would still be alive. Or she should have controlled it, like Sarah said. She wasn't a leader, she didn't need to give orders. The women had spoken two sides, Amber wasn't in charger but she wasn't watching her man. She wished she'd just pick one.
Amber picked the body up from under its arms and dragged it along the grass to where she pointed. She saw Georgia grab Art and Sam and Becky pull the other Sinners. She looked at the pile and waited for Charles and Sarah to join back up with them.
"Sam go see if there's some fuel we can spare, maybe ones that can't be used for the cars."
Same took off, running to the shed.
Becky and Georgia both stood at her Amber's side. "The day is still young. We should go scouting today. We need to see if we can find more materials for the wall. We could split into three teams and take a look at them, or all go as one. Charles will need to decided if he needs here or not."
"What about talking to eveyone as a group," Becky asked, "I still think that's a good idea to do."
"Becky's right," Georgia said setting down the gun, "we will need to explain to everyone what the shot was, and where Art went. Mis probably don't even know, they could worry that the leaders are covering it up."
"You're right, I'll suggest this to Charles Onces he comes back. Where are they, how long does it take to look at the barn and sheds," Amber spoke putting her knife away.
She saw Sam come running back with two things of gasoline, small containers, incase Charles wanted to use them.
Abby trudged back into the kitchen," fine, I will try to eat something, okay." She sighed and looked at Jay." Seems you get pregnant and everyone feels you have to eat like a cow a day or something." She ran a hand through her hair, pulling out the pony tail and placing it back.
" speaking of cow, a huge glass of real milk sounds awesome." She exhaled a deep breath," what about toast, maybe some tea?" Her mom always did tea and toast when she was sick to her stomach.
Abby glanced at Jay," food was good, right?" She glanced at Kira," I don't wan to come off all bitchy, I'm just worried , I guess."
"Not a cow a day, but you need to eat at least two meals per day. Lousi is making upper for everyone so you might want to eat then. You need one other meal," Brian said hobbling in on his crutch.
"As for the toast and Tea. We don't have the sustainable power to run a toaster, but we coup press it on the grill," Louis said whiping his hands off on his apron, "lucky the stove runs on gas."
"I can make tea," Kira squeaks and runs off to get a box from the supplies. She returned with some green tea and placed the kettle on the stove beside where Louis had a press.

"Well, Thanks for the food." Jay stated cheerfully as he stood with a stretch. He started to walk towards the door, grabbing his sword that he had set against the wall beside the said door when he first followed in for food.
"Hey Abby? I'm going to go check on my bike real quick okay? I need to make sure the tires is still in good shape."
Abby sighed as Brian came in. " I was being sarcastic, that's all." She heard Jay and nooses," ok, I will probably be right here when you get back." She glanced at Kida," ok, thanks." She sat and stared at her hands. She was wanting Max to come back. How much longer would he be gone? She glanced at Brian," I will try to eat, that's the best I can do,Doc."

Jay walks out the door and to his bike, which was leaning against the barn, underneath the tarp. He thought it would be a good idea. He took the tarp off and started to check the tires thoroughly, making sure that they didn't have any holes and such.
"Trying will do," Brian said sitting down on one of the stools. "If you can't keep it down we won't force you. We encourage everyone to eat,Ike you did Jay." He put his head in his hands and let out a sigh. "Did Max say when he'd be back? I know he's known for taking long trips by hinself, but he didn't leave with that much supplies. Where did he even go," Brian asked.
Kira set down a cup of tea for Abby, Brian, and herself and smiled taking a sip.
Louis brought over a piece of toast, toasted by hand on the grill. "Want peanut butter? Artificial jam? Honey?"
Brian smiled and leaned back, "Max will be alright, I know it. If he's not back tonight you can start to worry, until then just enjoy the day."
Abby sat and stared at the cup Kira placed before her. She heard Brian say they wouldn't force her. So she held true to her word and lifted it and took a sip after she blew on it. It was warm and it felt good to her throat since all she had been able to do was throw up all morning.
Louis asked about jam , peanut butter, but neither sounded appealing, til he said honey. " honey sounds good." She spoke softly and eyed the toast. Her eyes glanced at Brian," he said he was going to check some traps," she stared at Brian," he didn't take anything with him, like supplies, so he has to be coming back, right?" He said not to worry til it got dark, but wouldn't dark be too late? What if he was I. Trouble? What if a sinner.....no, no she wasn't going to think like that. She lowered her gaze from Brian and back to the table," Max said he was coming right back, and he will." She lifted her chin a bit and then took another sip of tea.
Brian looked at her and could tell she was worried. "Honestly if it was anyone besides Max I would be worried," he said looking down, "Max is the most capable out of any of us. He could handle any situation this world throws at him. Sinnerd aren't a problem for him. I've seem him go up against dozens and come out barely scratched. Max probably just saw a new opportunity for supplies for our group and went to it. He's probably in a town or a small farm. If things got bad he would wait them out, come back at his next availible time."
Louis set down a bottle of honey, "you know these things don't go bad for years. Something in them." He turned back and went to continue to cook the meal for the night.
Brian looked back up at Abby, "it will all work out. I can promise that. Max will come back, he's not one to run away from a challenge, and your are a challenge for him."
Abby listened to Brian and stared at the toast. She saw the honey and picked up a knife and spread a little on her bread. She was about to take a bite , when Brian said she was a challenge for Max.
Her head lifted and she locked eyes on him." What is that supposed to mean? He goes back and forth about me being pregnant, today he wants it and me, tomorrow, who knows?" She shook her head and left his gaze with her eyes. The toast in her hand was shaking slightly. She took a bite and then set it down and chewed .
It felt like chewing leather or cardboard. She didn't taste anything and when she swallowed it just felt like a rock in her stomach. It was just a feeling. She hoped it would pass, but she felt something was wrong. It was probably just her hormones.
Abby sipped some more tea," he runs when things get serious, you of all people should know that, Doc, and this is serious." She placed a hand on her stomach, not even realizing she did it.
