Charles was about to respond to Amber when Sarah came storming over, obviously pissed off. He didn't know what had made her angry and he hoped it wasn't him. He looked over to Amber and then back to Sarah. How could he avoid making anyone angry with him when both people wanted something completely different from him. He thought about it for a second and then came up with an idea.
"How about me and Sarah check the barn and the shed and the rest of you check the trees. I'll rejoin you once me and Sarah have finished with the sweep and our conversation."

"Sounds good charles," Amber said nodding at the others. "You heard him let's move," she ordered watching the three take off to go sweep the trees. She looked at charles, "I could have waited. I could have let you finish your talk and then go from there."
With that she raised her knife and gun and walked to join the others. "Sam me an you in the front and Becky and Geogia covering our rear. We do this slow. We have time don't rush it. Don't shoot the guns unless nessasry, keep blades up and ready."
-----
Kira looked at Abby. "If I see him I'll tell him," she said leaving the room and heading downstairs to go help in the kitchen.
Sarah stood there, she didn't understand why she was so angry at them. Brian was trying to be the voice of reason, right? No. He basically said Charles was wrong and that she and Abby should have stopped him from killing Arthur. She looked at him, then listening to him tell Amber that he would take her to sweep the barn and shed. Well, least she would have a moment alone with him to talk and figure this out.
Amber responded and Sarah's head snapped towards her. Did she just mean that as snarky as it came across to her? She would have waited, have your conversation and then they would have gone from there? Sarah glanced at Charlie and clenched her fists. That was it, she was putting an end to this shit right now. She stepped forward and yelled, "STOP RIGHT THERE!" she glanced back at Charlie, then looked back at Amber and the three who were walking away, "I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY!" she turned and made damn sure everyone was paying attention, including those working on the car. She glanced at the Kitchen, sure Louis and Kira could hear her from in there, they had windows open.
Sarah clenched her hands, 'CHARLES IS IN CHARGE HERE! He HAS FINAL SAY, HE MAKES THE ULTIMATE DECISIONS! I AM SICK AND TIRED OF YOU PEOPLE SECOND GUESSING HIM< DOUBTING HIM!" she looked at Charlie, "YOU ALL CAME HERE< OF YOUR OWN CHOICE < YOU ARE ALL FREE TO LEAVE IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH HIS CHOICES< " she turned slowly to face Amber, "You lead the Fort, You do NOT lead here, you knew that when you came here. He made a decision, he has given in to what you want, he is going with you to get your men back, but you still act like you want to be in charge, making decisions, this needs to stop. You need to work with him, stop fighting against him." She stared at Amber. Sarah was upset, but she thought everyone needed to be on the same page, right now. "Charlie, Max, Abby and I started this place, I won't so it torn apart by someone doubting it's leader, and having their own agenda." She looked at Charlie, 'You want her to command with you, you need for her to understand what that means." She turned around and walked away, headed for the barn, to do what he ahd said. She didn't question him, never had. In all the time she had known him, Sarah had never questioned him, or doubted him. Not like these people.
Declan was surprised of course but then looked at the car. "Well, I know this is a Ford Fiesta because my friend had one of these." He said. "I did have a car but I left it about 15 miles back down the road. That would be useful, it's got a good engine, 2 litre." He said. "It also has a few good supplies in it" He says as he goes to take off the other 2 doors. "One day maybe I can go and retrieve it" He said, not really serious. He pulled the door off and put it in the pile. Then the drama started, he turned while Sarah started yelling. He watched as she seemed to have a go at Amber. She was seemingly putting her in her place then she walked off
Charles looked at Sarah as she went off and he couldn't believe he was actually hearing this. He had never heard her yell this much and it through him off. He knew that she had been on edge since the attack and he understood that. She had been through a lot and it made sense that she would be on edge. He watched as she walked towards the barn.
When she had gotten a little further from him he turned to look at Amber. He could only guess what she was thinking. To him it had seemed like she was trying to be nice but Sarah had taken it entirely differently but then again she had already been pissed off when she came outside. He knew that he couldn't leave without saying something but he also didn't know what to say that wouldn't rob hee of any authority, something that he never wanted to do.
"We will talk later, I need to figure out what is going on. I have never seen Sarah that angry before, not like that."
He turned and followed Sarah to the barn, pulling his knife out as he did. He was thankful for the ability to use a knife one handed. It was a kill method that hadn't been effected by the damage to his left hand.
Sarah stopped just at the barn door. Charlie had caught up to her and asked what was wrong. She turned to him, tears in her eyes," they are what's wrong. Brian just basically told me and Abby that you shouldn't have shot Arthur and that as leaders, she and I should have stopped you from doing it." She stared at him, shaking she wa so mad," they all doubt your decision, they keep doing this. She has her own agenda. She still believes she is in charge of everything. She wants to go get her men, you are going to do that. You could get killed this time doing what she wants to do." Sarah shook her head, " why can't they just see that what you did was give him mercy, more than he deserved for what he had done." She was crying now and shook her head wiping her face," I'm sorry, but this is my home and I won't see it torn apart by people tearing it down and second guessing the one who has only do e what was best for all of us."

Amber didn't answer Charles, she couldn't. She was to furious at the situation. She had nothing but agreed with Charles all the way. Sarah forgot it was her and her men the pulled her ass out. It was her and her men that gave them the fucking meals they are every day. They gave them gun, ammo, and cars for their wall. She had supplied water and vehicles, risked her life day and day out on runs. They gave the so much and what do they get in return? Some cunt flipping shit on her for something she didn't even do. This woman was lucky she respected Charles. If she didn't she would have punched her taken her supplies and people and left. Let the ungrateful fuck fend for herself.
She walked through the woods, "keep moving don't stop," she ordered and continued to walk, "I want the girls on my six and Sam at my side. Sweep and clear like on a run. Ears sharp and alert."
-----
Olivia looked at Declan, "what do you think that was about," she asked motioning to what just happened. "Your people usually snap like that?"
"She'll alert all the dead in the area if she keeps that up," Penny said leaning against the car, "she knows sound alerts the right?"
Declan looked at Olivia. "It seemed like her and Amber weren't agreeing or something." He then heard the comment about the snapping. He thought for a moment. "No, it's not something they do, they ain't usually like that." Declan said as he pulled up the bonnet of the car and used the rod to keep it in place. "Oi, Olivia? Mind educating me on which part is which?" He could make out the engine, air filter and battery but everything else was unknown to him, he wasn't a car nut and never would be. He tapped at it while he tried figuring out what was what, it just looked like a mess to him and cars weren't a area where he was good in. He knew plugs, walls, lights, wiring and sometimes a computer if his friend crashed it. Declan leant back waiting for help.
"Sarah, they haven't been out there like we have. They were behind those walls the whole time. They still think that things are the way they used to be, not the way they are. They don't understand what it means to survive now. They have been lucky. They have lost people but they didn't have to see the horror that we saw every day."
He knew how these people felt, or at least he could guess. Though it had been a long time, he could still remember the shock that the new world had been. Being out in it was something that changed you, made you learn. It forced you to make decisions that you never would have made before. It made you comfortable with things that would have kept you up at night with nightmares before.
"They will learn. They will have to or they will die. It is as simple as that. Their morals, their outlook on life. It will all have to change or they won't make it. You know I won't let anyone put this place at risk. Let them think what they will. I don't like that Brian handled things like he did, but it is expected. More then probably anyone else here Brian is still living in the old world."
He moved to wrap his arms around her for a second before they opened the barn doors. He didn't know what they would find in there but he wanted to comfort her for a second before they went in.
"I will come home, I promise."
He kissed her cheek before pulling away and opening the door. He signaled her to go to the right while he would go to the left. There was probably nothing in there. There had been 17 people sleeping in here, but they couldn't be too careful. They would check the shed next.

For these past few weeks, Jay has been helping getting everything settled in their new home. I was still quiet around everyone, not knowing how talk talk to any one of them besides the ones he first met, like Charles. When he was asked to do something, he did it with no complaints.
In this moment, once everything calm down, he was currently laying under a tree, relaxing. He had his eyes closed as if he was resting.
Abby heard the yelling from the upstairs window. She crawled off the bed and ran downstairs. That had been Sarah! What the hell was going on? She stepped out the back door and stared as she watched Sarah and Charlie disappear into the barn. She spotted Jay and headed for him. She sat down next to him under the tree. She was gonna wait and see when they came out of the barn."hey, Jay, what was all that about?" She pointed at the barn," who was Sarah yelling at, Charlie?"
Sarah listened to him and felt him wrap his arms around her. She sighed and when he pulled back, she nodded and followed him inside. "I'm sorry, I got so angry, I'm not myself." She stood just inside the barn. Most of the girls from the junkyard bunked in here. It looked very different from when they first came in here. She eyed the cots that laid here towards the front. She glanced at him," I am so used to following your lead, and I guess I M not used to that woman giving orders or you running things past her." She moved towards the back.
If there was anything, it would be back in the stalls , she figured.
Abby grinned at him, the kid was still just a kid after all this bullshit."Yea, I get that, but it ain't like Sarah to yell." She looked at him, "You been out here long?" She looked back to the back porch and the kitchen door, "If she was yelling at him, something bad must be going on." she frowned, wishing Max was back.

"Not really, about an hour or two I think." He sits up and stretches, his back popping slightly. He grabbed his sword that was laying beside him and hold it across his lap. He didn't really know what to say now. He has never been good at conversations where he really knew nothing about.

Amber moved along the trees. Becky followed her, Georgia not far behind. She moved from tree to tree. It was quiet besides Sam's breathing and their foot steps. If there was a sinner they'd hear it.
"Around the bend," Amber said moving forward knife raised. She moved around a big log, the others following.
"Seems clear," Georgia said putting her gun at her hip, "How much of the perimeter do have left?"
"Little bit further. We don't need to go deep into the woods, just the perimeter. If there that far we would be searching for hours," Amber replied.
"Wonder if the others found any," Sam asked ducking under a branch, "I didnt think Art would go this far. Even before it was only the ones that would wander on the base."
"Yeah, like that one that was stuck on the fence," Becky said moving with her rifle, "remember how it stuck and tore as it moved. I nearly piled right then and there."
"Or the one we found stuck to the tire of the fine buggy. Riley and Grant spent hours trying to get it off," Sam laughed.
"Amber what happened to them? I know we couldn't leave the base, but we could go now. Get Thad back. We need them. This place needs an army, they were the pest we had," Becky said kicking the dirt.
"We'll get them. Charles promised. If he goes back on it then I will go. Take what I need. It has to be done. I don't want to go against them, but I will on this," Amber said.
"Agreed," Georgia nodded
"We need them," Becky said looking at the others.
"Yeah, they're family, it's been to long," Sam said smiling, "I'd get them back with you."

Olivia looked at Declan, "well hope something doesn't break out again," she shook at the thought of the gun shot, "I was getting used to the silence."
Penny leaned back, "If they keep yelling it will draw something neer. Either the dead or people, both are bad. Just glad it's over now."
Olivia looked at Declan, "sure I'll teach you. Let's see what should we start with," she said going over the pieces.
(I know nothing about cars, why I don't play a mechanic. Sorry Dec.)
Abby eyed him as he said he been out here for an hour or two,"alone like this?" She sighed,"Jay, you know you are part of our group, you don't have to be alone, I mean, unless you wanted to be, and if so, I just came along and ruined that, sorry."
Abby ran a hand up and smoothed her ponytail, " Did you see Max leave? He went out to check some traps he laid out." She looked at the house." Have you eaten anything?" She realiEd she sounded like a bag," sorry, you're old enough to do what you wasn't." She shifted and stood up," I'm gonna go back and work in the cellar til Sarah comes back, if you want something to do, you can help me get ride of some boxes down there. We almost got the halves stacked with the preserves."

"No no, you didn't ruin it. I'm just not good with people. No I didn't see him leave, sorry and i could use a bite to eat I'll help too." He looks at her and shifts.
"Truthfully, I was doubtful being accepted in your group, mainly because I doubt they accept me for me...well at least one part of me that i haven't told."
Abby stared down at Jay as he spoke. She smiled and shrugged," Adam's apple, you mean? " she smiled at him," Most males have an Adan's Apple, even as young as you, but girls don't have an Adam's apple and you don't have an ads Apple, from what I can see." She held out her hand for him, to help him up," come on, you can go get some food and then come help me when you're done." As he stood, she locked eyes with his," " you are you, don't matter what parts you got, okay." Abby smiled at him and then let go of his hand before turning to the house.
