James-Vincent waited, for any sign of anything living or dead. "At least there don't seem to be any of those things around." James-Vincent looked closer at the barricade. "Seems to have been maintained. If raiders took this place it would have had to been recent." His thoughts were interrupted by the distant sound of a motor. After all this time the sound was unmistakable. Hopeful but still cautious, James-Vincent checked the chamber to make sure the gun was fully loaded. James-Vincent hid behind a pillar and waited for the vehicles arrival, heart pumping. Pointing the revolver towards the sky and resting his head on the stock, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath, before opening them and dropping the gun to his side. "Please let them be decent people."

"Oh, just wanted to see how you handle driving other vehicles," Sarah quipped, adding slyly, "besides, we can always do some riding later if you'd like; some indoor riding...because we've got so much to talk about, Hannah," leaning back into her seat and looking out the side windows and wondering who was at the barricades but also making it clear that there was something there between them; what it was, she didn't know...but the way the weather's going, we'll have time to find out those things, she thought...
Hannah kept an eye on the road as Sarah whispered such things to her. It caused a shiver to shoot right up her spine and made her head twitch a bit at the possible idea's that came to mind. Most of them were dirty in nature, but she couldn't help it. They were only human and she felt some attraction to the leader of this group. As she talked, her southern draw with her natural Irish accent came out. "Now, I thought I was going to be the one with the balls to tease. You hav me shivering like a leaf in a bloody tree. The only question I have is this me dear...your room or me Rig?" A smirk came across her face as she blushed some more, her right hand would turn on the heater to the military truck to get the beast of steel warm inside.
After a bit of driving, she pulled them right up to the barricade. Putting the stick in park, she pulled out her lever action shotgun from it's holster and stepped out into the weather. Standing there, her eye would scan the area. But she couldn't really see much from ground level. Climbing up onto the roof would prove something else though. As she climbed up and knelt down next to Katie who was in the gunner turret, she focused her eye on a set of tracks in the snow and followed them to a pillar. "Hey you! Yah you...step out from hiding. We aint gonna shoot cha, unless you give us a reason to."

James-Vincent heard the vehicle get closer and closer until it came to a stop. After a few moments had passed a woman's voice yelled out to him. The woman told him to come out of hiding. "I apologize for my skepticism but, how do I know I can trust you? Not that you have any reason to trust me." James-Vincent called back realizing the flaws in his argument, pondering his choices. "Okay, I'm coming out, with my hands raised." James-Vincent stepped into sight, both arms in the air, one still holding his revolver. "I'm coming peacefully, I mean no harm. Please don't shoot me." James yelled out to the unknown figures.

Looking over at Hannah with a slightly raised eyebrow, Sarah replied, "Hmm...an interesting choice," pursing her lips as she thought of an answer..."like I said, we've got so much to talk about, Hannah," pointing ahead towards the island end of the MacArthur Bridge. "We're here." As they came to a stop, Sarah kept an eye on everything and listened to the back and forth between Hannah and the newcomer and chimed in. "Hannah's right; come on out where we can see you," Sarah said, waiting to see what happened.
Watching as a man walked over to the other side of the barricades, Sarah took over the conversation. "We won't harm you; we're going to raise the barricades. Once they're up, you step on through, sir, and walk straight to the Humvee. Once you're past the barricades, we'll lower them and once we're back inside the vehicle, we'll head back inside."

Once you're past the barricades, we'll lower them and once we're back inside the vehicle, we'll head back inside."
Sitting down on the roof of the military truck, Hannah would watch the man show himself. Her right hand holding her Lever action shotgun which was resting on her right knee. Her left leg hung off the side of the Humvee and was swaying back and forth. Turning her head to look at Sarah as she explained about raising and lowering the Barricades, Hannah just nodded her head and slid off the side of the humvee, landing on her feet with bent knees. She would walk over towards the Barricade, the snow crunched under her boots as she kept her eye on the man who had his hands up in the air and a gun in his hand. This only made the grip on her shotgun tighten as she reached her destination. Holstering the Shotgun in it's thigh holster, she looked at the Barricade and then at the man. Putting her arms to the barricade, she began to raise and lower the different barricades so that man could get through.
Once he was through, she set the last Barricade back to it's normal set position. Taking out her M-1911 model .45 handgun, Hannah was now all business as she walked back towards the Humvee, but made sure that the man was in her line of sight. Upon reaching the driver side door and turned around she would say to the man. "My name is Hannah Emritz. This lovely lady on the other side of me Is Sarah Sharpe, the leader of this group. The lovely lady on the .50, her name is Katie. What be your name mister?" Leaning up against the Humvee, she would keep the .45 ready, in case she would have to use it. Her eye looked up at the sky as the Blizzard began to pick up with it's winds. "Katie, you might want to get down from the .50, it's going to be even colder on the way back with this storm picking up. And mister, one last thing...hand over your weapons for the time being. Rules are that you turn over your weapons until you get checked by the Islands medical staff. Upon getting the green light, you will then get your weapons back."

Hearing Hannah's reminder of just how cold it was, Kate quickly climbed down from the Humvee turret and got back inside the vehicle, reaching around the bottom side of the turret to pop open the back passenger door so that the survivor they'd just picked up could get inside for the ride back. Keying the mic on her radio, she said, "Be advised; we've picked up one survivor at the barricade; have Medical be ready once we return." Switching off the radio, Kate sat back and waited for everyone else to climb back inside as well...

James listened carefully to everything the women said, and did as instructed. As he stepped through the barricade and on to the other side, he looked around, inspecting the area. "My name is James-Vincent Napoli. It's very nice to meet you ladies. And Miss Emritz, I believe that all three of you are equally lovely." James smirked. Following the directions given to him, James slowly walked towards the vehicle, hands still raised, until he stood in front of Hannah. Slowly, James grabbed his gun by the barrel and handing it to the woman stock first. While he waited for the young lady to confiscate his revolver he moved his other hand to his staff on his back. "I assume you'll be wanting my staff too?" James asked, removing it regardless. It's not like he could do anything if they decided to kill him now. Once his weapons were no longer in his possession, James climbed into the back seat of the vehicle, through the door that Kate had opened for him. Nodding his head toward the young woman he spoke "I really appreciate everything you guys are doing for me. It's been so long since someone's shown me this much kindness."

When the man came to her with his weapons, handing them over to her, Hannah took each and everyone of them. He made the comment of how all three of them are lovely looking. Raising an eyebrow over the eye patch, she didn't say anything to him about his remark. He climbed inside the warm Humvee. Shaking her head, she opened the driver side door and slid inside. Handing Sarah both the revolver and the staff to her, Hannah would then holster her firearm. Putting the shift into 4th, she would turn the beast around to head back to the Yacht club. The blonde haired thief stayed quiet as they drove back to the building. But he did thank them for the hospitality that the three women were showing him so far. Looking in the rear view mirror, she would look at him and say to him.
"It's how we are. But betray that Kindness, you better be hiding some where rather safe, for I will hunt you down. I will be up front with you right now since you've been kind so far, I don't trust men. Rarely do I let a man earn my trust easily. It has to be earned through working along side of me." Her eye would go back to the road as she drove them still until she came to a stop out in front of the Yacht club. Putting the vehicle in park, she turned the truck off and stepped outside of it. Leaving his firearms with Sarah, Hannah would walk across the street to her Big Rig. Climbing up it, she stepped inside of it and kicked the snow off her boots. Closing the door behind her, she would step into the back of the rig. Taking her weapons off of her hips and her person, she would set them all down on top of a small table.
Sitting down on her bed, she would sit there for a while thinking about the day so far. Laying back on the queen size bed, her eye would look up at the ceiling as it was dark. Reaching over, she flipped a switch which turned on a small halo shape black light above her. Lighting up the back of the rig with the light of the black light bulb. It was a lovely and cool affect to see the white of her clothing get brighter as well as her teeth and eye.

Curious and in need of the toilet, Lottie decided to explore the facility that she was currently in. She walked down unfamiliar halls, her feet slapping the floor gently as she carried her shoes and socks in her hands.

With all the weapons in her possession, Sarah sat quietly in the front passenger seat of the Humvee as they drove back to the yacht club building; the newcomer's weapons next to her; looking out the window, she noticed that the snowstorm they'd been dealing with for most of the day was still going strong, though without the winds that had been blowing around earlier....eventually, they came to a stop outside the building; climbing out of the Humvee, she said to the man, "Your weapons will be safe here, sir; if you'll follow Kate inside, we'll get you checked through Medical and get you something to eat," glancing over in the direction of Hannah's rig as she watched Hannah walk over and climb inside.
As Kate climbed out of the Humvee, Sarah stopped her a moment and said, "I'm going to talk with Hannah a while; if anything happens, you've got a radio, alright?" Kate nodded and turned, pointing towards the main entrance...as they walked away, Sarah turned and walked over to Hannah's rig, a nervous feeling washing over her as she got closer to the rig. Stopping at the driver's side door, Sarah took a few deep breaths before reaching over and knocking on the door, thinking Here goes nothing...

Hannah
The Jade color Iris rolled downwards as she heard the knocking from the driver side door. Sitting up and facing that direction, Hannah stood up and started to walk over towards the threshold of the cab and the sleeper. Her hand grabbed one of the throwing axes as she stepped through. Flipping a switch up above her, lighting up the cab with the small over head light. Leaning over the driver seat she pulled the small lever for the driver door and it slowly swung open. Looking down, she saw Sarah. "Oh...Hi there Ms. Sarah. Wasn't expecting you to come over. Come in and get out of the cold. Don't want you to get sick."
Hannah would step away from the seat and went back into the sleeper section of the Rig. Walking through the threshold, she would sit back down on the bed and watch as Sarah would step forth. "So my dear, what is it you would like to talk about?" Reaching over, she would grab a bottle of water and toss the axe back onto the small table. Undoing the cap, she would take a sip from the bottle and watch Sarah.
Damen
Leaning against the wall, Damen would stand there waiting to see about talking to this 'Doctor' everyone was talking about. But his thoughts would be disturbed when he hears the doors to the front of the building open up followed by the sounds of foot steps approaching. Pushing himself off the wall, he would turn to face Katie walking towards him with a new person. Looking at the man, he would introduce himself. "Welcome to Belle Isle. I'm Commander Damen Smull."

As the humvee drove towards wherever they were going, James thought quietly, only speaking when spoken to. As Hannah extended her warning regarding possible treachery, he nodded. "Fair enough. And I appreciate your honesty. I hope that one day I may earn your trust." As the car arrived at it's destination Hannah got out and walked off, followed shortly after by Sarah, who gave James directions. "Thank you for everything Miss. I owe you." James exited the vehicle, taking in his surroundings, waiting for the young woman known as Kate to lead the way. "This place isn't looking bad for the apocalypse. It looks like the rest of the world ended, but Detroit didn't get the memo." James chuckled to himself. Then James realized something that he was previously too occupied to notice. Turning to Kate he said, "I haven't seen any men here yet. And that Sarah woman said she didn't trust men. Are you guys some sort of Amazoness tribe or...?" James questioned half jokingly half serious.

Alex swiftly put his shirt on then took off his combat boots and socks followed by his soaked trousers. He folded them into a neat pile at the end of the table and repositioned himself so the doctor could get a better look of his legs. "So tell me, I heard people outside calling you the good doctor, how'd you get that title?" He asked sounding rather interested and much happier than before.
"Oh, how'd I become the good doctor?" Joseph said as he quickly looked over both of Alex's legs, looking for anything out of the ordinary. "Hard work, lots of study...taking over for the Fourth Doctor when he left," he said; glancing over a moment, he added, "That last bit was a little Doctor Who humor there," smiling as he finished up his exam. "You're good," he said, "you can get dressed now." Stepping outside the exam room a moment, he looked down the hallway and saw there were a few more people waiting to be checked. Remembering who was who from earlier, he pointed towards one of them and said, "Commander, you're up next...sir," pointing to the other person, who Joseph noted hadn't been there earlier, "as soon as I clear him through Medical, you're next up."

Standing outside Hannah's rig, Sarah started to wonder if Hannah wasn't asleep already when she heard someone inside climbing around towards the door; moments later, the door popped open from the inside... "Oh...Hi there Ms. Sarah. Wasn't expecting you to come over. Come in and get out of the cold. Don't want you to get sick." Hannah said, backing up as she did so that Sarah could climb onboard and join her inside.
Making her way to the sleeper section of Hannah's rig, Sarah sat down on the bed next to Hannah as she asked, "So my dear, what is it you would like to talk about?" Thinking about the question for a moment, Sarah said as she took off her heavy coat, setting it around her waist. "Well...everything I guess," Sarah said quietly, "but first, like I said earlier, it is so good to see you again, Hannah...."

Setting the bottle down onto the floor, she would bring her hair back into a pony tail again as she watched Sarah join her on the bed and placed her heavy winter coat around her own waist. Leaning back a bit, she held herself up with her left arm as she looked at Sarah as she talked to Hannah. "Well...everything I guess," Sarah said quietly, "but first, like I said earlier, it is so good to see you again, Hannah...." The smile on her face broadened a bit as she looked down at the bit for a moment. Sliding her right hand across and ontop of Sarah's hand, Hannah would reply.
"It's good to see you again as well. Since a good bit of things happened out in California and left some pretty dark memories in my mind. I figured I'd leave Tamara's group because of certain...unforeseen events happened. While driving, I saw the map of where I was and saw I was back in Michigan. I guess you can call it fate that lead me back here again. Back to this little slice of Heaven me dear."
Alex pulls his pants on and jumps off of the examination table. He collects his socks and combat boots from the edge of the table then walks out the door with a small smile and a "thanks doc" to follow it. His smile faded when he walks into the corridor and sees the expressionless face of Commander Smull. Alex just rolls his eyes and walks down the corridor, not actually sure on where he was going.

When the door to the exam room opened, he turned to see Alex walking out. Upon seeing the eye roll, Damen would smile at him and whisper to him as he passed him by. "Don't smile, might just break your face Queen of Hearts." Walking into the exam room, he would see the Doctor standing there. Undoing his bullet proof vest, he would place it down on the bed and began to strip down from his uniform and folded them up onto the vest. His body which was covered with scars were now visible to the doctor as he stood there before him in just his underwear.
"Evening Doctor, and please...just call me Damen."

As Lottie walked down the barren corridors she traced the wall with her hand as she hummed to herself. She glanced into each room and finally found a restroom of some sort. She entered the bathroom and placed her shoes by the sink. She looked at herself in the mirror and just stared at her reflection for a bit. Cupping water in her hands she splashed her face, ridding of the dirt and grime on her skin. The water was bitterly cold but it made her feel more awake. Lottie reached into her bag and pulled out a comb. She brushed and fixed her hair, putting her hair into a ponytail. Once satisfied, Charlotte left the room, taking all her belongings with her and travelled down the halls.
As he walks down the corridors, Alex manages to find a empty mess hall with the odour of antiseptic cleaning chemicals and a faint hint of lemons. He decided to wander in and place himself down on a chair by a long table. Judging by the amount of tables and chairs in this place, Alex could only assume that this compound housed a lot of people or was prepared for a large amount of survivors to come flooding through the barricades. Alex placed his dirty shoes and bag on recently cleaned table and rummaged thought his belongings until he found a little wooden carving of an animal of some sort which his daughter carved for him when she was at her mother's. The animal resembled a small stag with a small snag along the middle from where Eve's hand supposedly slipped when she adding some detail. Alex smiles and holds on to it then brings it to his lips.

"Evening, Damen," Joseph said as Damen undressed and climbed onto the exam table; as with the others before him, Joseph examined the man for bite marks, scratches, anything that would indicate an injury or illness, taking notes here and there for later transcription. After finishing the exam - which didn't take quite as long since he was getting the pattern for these exams down pat for future memory - Joseph stepped back, draped his stethoscope around his neck and said, "Well, you passed; welcome to Belle Isle."
After a second's thought, he added, "Damen, if I may ask within the bounds of doctor/patient - and you don't have to answer the question....how did you get those scars?" Having noticed the scars during the exam, Joseph felt it was only fair for him to ask.
