Lottie nods, "neat!" And produces a small smile. Charlotte wonders for a bit before asking, "you guys ever run into trouble around here?...like any bad guys or groups I should know about?"
Stopping on the stairs, her hand clenched the railing for several moments as she thought about the past few years and everyone they'd fought. Turning, her hand still gripping the railing, Sarah replied, "We've fought a few groups over the years...but we've come out stronger every time. That's the thing about the Motor City and the people here: no matter what happens, we never stop fighting.
"Doesn't mean we don't have fun every so often....but the Island comes first; we work hard...but that doesn't mean we don't play hard at times," Sarah said, smiling. Pointing towards the second-floor landing, she added, "Anyway, where were we again?"

Before she could get an answer, Elise heard someone walking quietly behind her; turning around, she saw a man - someone she didn't know - step inside the warren of rooms that marked where Belle Isle's leader worked most days and slept in as well and pointed towards him, asking, "Who are you and how did you get in here, sir?"
Alex froze when the woman asked him the question. He looked around the room before standing up straight and clearing his throat.
"My name's Alex, I'm one of the survivors that they pulled in today" he answered the first question and continued to answer the second "I'm a bit lost... I saw someone come in here and I just want to know where I can lie down and kick my feet up."

Hearing the lack of hostility from Alex in his response - for all she knew, he was simply lost - Elise said, "Don't worry; I think everyone gets lots here the first few days...that's how big this building is," offering Alex a friendly handshake. "I'm Elise Diefenbaker, Ms. Sharpe's chief steward and head of logistics here at Belle Isle," adding, "You just arrive here today, sir?"

Sarah-"anyway, where were we again?". Lottie fixed her bag straps and replied, "something along the lines of grabbing our stuff and finding a place to rest.."
Returning the handshake, Alex nodded with a friendly smile.
"Yeah, I have. Just been through the medical and had a small nap in a chair. Wasn't the most comfortable i have to admit but it was better that sleeping out there in the cold." He chuckles to himself.

Gathering up his medical instruments and returning them back to his medical bag, Joseph stepped outside and walked down the hallway towards where everyone had been at earlier on....seeing at least one more person that needed to be examined and cleared through Medical, he crossed his arms, pointed at the man and said, "You must be new here; you've still got that 'new car' look about you....I'm Dr. MacMillan; if you'll follow me, we'll get you cleared through Medical in no time at all."

"Right this way," Sarah said, smiling as she led both Charlotte and Commander Smull upstairs to the building's second floor; rounding the corner where the stairwell met the expansive floor, she opened a door and stepped inside a little ways, turning on the lights as she did. "Here you go," she said, standing aside so that the others could see inside the room. It was a nondescript-looking set of quarters, with two beds on either side of a nightstand; to one side was a window, beyond which one could see across the Detroit River and into the snow-covered Motor City itself. "There's six of these rooms on this part of the second floor; bathrooms and showers are all the way down at the far end of the floor," Sarah said, looking around to see if there was anything else needed or if there were any questions or concerns they might have.

"Don't worry; we've all been there," Elise replied, smiling back at the man as they sat down inside Sarah's outer office. "I still remember my first day here last year or thereabouts; it was a nerve-wracking day to say the least." Noticing a slight accent to Alex's voice, Elise asked, "That's a nice accent you have....English, by chance?"

Rinsing the shampoo and the soap off of herself, she heard a knocking on the door and a female asking hello and who was there. Freezing in place, she stayed quiet until she heard a man, Alex from what she heard earlier was talking to the other female who was outside of the bathroom door. Sighing to herself, she would get to the farthest part of the shower and reached for the door. Grasping it, she would close the door so that she had some privacy. Finishing up, she would turn off the water and grabbed her towel. Steam had filled the bathroom. Drying her body off, she had gotten dressed as quickly as she could and even gotten her weapons on herself as the two outside of the door kept talking to each other. It was good enough cover until she was fully dressed.
With her hair damp and hanging around her head, she would reach into her dirty pants pockets and pulled out a hair band. Pulling her hair into a ponytail, she would open the door as she placed her sheath and holsters back onto herself. Stepping out as her boots lightly thudded out into Sarah's bedroom, she was now looking at the two. With a smile on her face, she carried her things in her arms. "Why...Hello everyone. Ummm...I'm just gonna...go...this way." Hannah would say as she points towards Sarah's office.

Following behind them, Damen would stay quiet as the two ladies before were talking back and forth. Taking note about how Sarah had say that they work hard and play hard as well. Smiling as he shook his head, they continued until they reached the second floor and went to the one bedroom that was going to be his and her room for the time being. Stepping inside, he took his vest off and set it onto the bed closest to the door. He was allowing her to have the view outside of the window. Sarah had then explained that there was six of these kinds of rooms on the floor while the bathrooms and showers were at the end of the floor. Smiling as he placed his hands in his pockets, he would look at Sarah and say to her.
"Thank you Ms. Sarah for showing us to our room and explaining all that has happened, what goes on here and letting us know where the restrooms and showers are. But I think I can speak for both me and Charlotte here, when's dinner?"

Turning to hear and see who it was, Elise smiled almost shy-like, wondering who else was going to step inside Ms. Sharpe's office as well. "My apologies; I came in here to see who had entered earlier - I'm assuming that was you - and I guess he," pointing towards Alex, "followed me in here, wondering who had came in here." Cocking her head a little to the side a moment or two as she looked at Hannah, Elise said, "Where are my manners?" chuckling for a second. "They should be starting dinner momentarily," Sarah replied, thinking almost unkindly to herself that what she was hungriest for was somewhere else in the yacht club building at that moment. Hiding that thought in the back of her mind, Sarah said, "Let's head back downstairs and we'll grab something to eat."

Lottie smiled to herself as it seemed she was blessed with a kind enough roommate, that let her take the view from the window.

Charlotte said as she patted her stomach and dreamt of what food there would be to offer.

Chris looked around, trying to hide the light flush of embarrassment as her stomach growled rather...loudly, a sure sign of her hunger. With a nervous chuckle, she patted her stomach with a glance back towards Kate, having noticed their own little chef had vacated the scene, perhaps to head back to her kitchen, "I could go for something to eat...what about you, Kate?"

Almost as if on cue, Kate's stomach growled as well; reaching over to grasp Chris's hand, she replied, "You read my mind, love..let me check with the Doc and see if they're finished checking everyone we brought in today and then we'll head right down, okay?"(OOC: James-Vincent, if you want, we can skip a little bit and go as if you've cleared Medical; let me know what you think, alright?)

Smiling at the Elise, Hannah had stopped her advancement towards Sarah's Office. Since the lady had given her name, Hannah should humor with the same curiosity. "Me? I was from the large group that came by from New York and stayed for a while. I'm Hannah Emritz, I could have sworn we have met once before, if not, the pleasure is all mine. I drive the Peterbelt outside. So you won't have to worry about giving me a room in here. I'll just sleep in my rig." Her good eye looked at Alex who was standing there. With the same friendly smile, she would say to him. "And I take it you have been cleared through Medical? So, what do you think of the Island so far? How about we all go get some something to eat and we can talk on the way, no?"

Hearing Hannah's attempt to shrug off staying inside given the cold blizzard outside, Elise shrugged off the idea with one of her own. "In this weather, Hannah? I've known Ms. Sharpe for over a year now and I figure if you're here in her quarters, then you've earned her trust and that's something not many people have succeeded at," not knowing about the conversation that Sarah and Hannah had had outside in Hannah's rig.
"Since I've got night watch up in the perch tonight, you're more than welcome to sleep in my quarters just down the hall, Hannah," Elise offered. "There's a connecting door between my quarters and Ms. Sharpe's, which has come in very handy ever since Meredith was born," and for other purposes, Elise thought to herself.

Damen watched both of them back and forth and ended up nodding his head while pointing a hand towards the door. "Ladies first." He said with a smile on his face. Walking with them into the hallway, he felt better knowing he didn't have to wear his bullet proof vest. Taking his free hand, he would hook his index finger through the two shirts and begin to pull it and let go so it aired it out inside. They were making they're way to the Staircase again, not know that they were going to be having company on the same stairs. "So Ms. Sharpe, what jobs would you want me to do while on your paradise Island? I could train those that aren't fully trained in Fire arms and possible security watch. But since you're the Lady of the Island, it be best you choose what I do since you probably have a lot of people who train fire arms shooting and Security details of the island." Reaching the door first, he would turn the knob and open the door for the ladies to walk through. Such a Gentleman he was being.
