"Okay" she said waiting patiently for the doctor to leave so she could get undressed. Once the doctor left, Lottie began to take off her jeans and footwear. She then slid her t-shirt on, recalling that he didn't need her undressed from the waist up anymore. Lottie neatly folded her clothes and put them aside before climbing back on the table and calling out for the doctor to return. "You can come in now"

Licking her lips as she watched Hannah walking down the hallway, Sarah smiled and shook her head while she regained her composure, all the while having some very deliciously - and for Sarah, naughty - unkind thoughts about Hannah....her outside expression, however, was as smooth and cool as silk-wrapped steel as she looked over at Commander Smull and asked, "So...where were we again?"
Damen was a bit speechless at the current time and moment as he watched both Sarah and Hannah. When the blonde walked off towards wherever she was going, he slowly looked back at Sarah who had seemed to enjoy it. Blinking a few times after the question was asked, he would have to think about it. As he did, he saw a female approach to Alex and a smaller woman. Turning his gaze back on Sarah, he would then say to her. "We were talking about ourselves when we were both distracted by Hannah's.....ummm...caring nature?" He scratched his head a bit as he thought about it some.
"We all lost a great bit in our lives sadly to whatever this plague, disease or whatever this could be. On Zero day, I was at the Norfolk Naval Base about to go on my RnR when we heard the news of what was going on. Our top priority was to evacuate all Civilians and Military Personnel to the ships. While I was on land, a good portion of the survivors were headed to the ship I was second in Command of, The Zumwalt. It was a Guided Missile Destroyer. An explosion was heard and when I turned to look, I saw the Destroy sinking as people tried to jump off of it. As I prepared to leave the base, I heard over the Radio that there was no survivors left of the Zumwalt." After he had said all that, he leaned himself against the wall again and looked at the ground. "Over 150 souls were lost from it...and I'm the last one of the crew."

"We were talking about ourselves when we were both distracted by Hannah's.....ummm...caring nature?" He scratched his head a bit as he thought about it some. Standing nearby, Sarah quickly replied, "I believe so, Commander," pausing to glance back down the hallway in the direction where Hannah had gone before turning back towards him as he continued... "We all lost a great bit in our lives sadly to whatever this plague, disease or whatever this could be. Reaching over to offer a comforting hand on his shoulder, Sarah tried to think of something to say; eventually, she said in a quiet voice, "That's right, we've all lost people these past few years, but like I said earlier, 'you keep going.' Every day you're alive is a day to the good, a day where you can shake your fist at the world as if to say, 'Hit me with your best shot; I can take it.' It doesn't mean you put what happened out of your mind forever but it does mean you keep fighting with everything you've got, not just for yourself but for the memory of your crew. Always remember the good times, honor their memory...and keep fighting!" emphasizingthe last bit as she spoke.

Stepping back inside the exam room, Joseph quickly examined both of Charlotte's legs, checking for any possible injuries, any scratches or bite marks, anything out of the ordinary...after a few minutes, satisfied that everything was in order and that Charlotte was, to borrow the expression, "as fit as a fiddle", he walked over to his medical kit and began returning his instruments to it. ""You're good to go, Charlotte," he said, smiling as he spoke. "I'll step back outside to let you get dressed; welcome to Belle Isle."

A big smile grew on Charlottes face as she heard the words 'welcome to Belle Isle.' She finally felt like this place could be something for her...possibly a home. Once the doctor left the room, she hopped off the table and got dressed. Remembering how soggy her shoes were, she decided to carry them instead of wear them. Once she was done , Lottie stepped out of the medical room and headed towards the group. Lottie practically skipped over to the group, finding energy she didn't know that she had in her. "Fit as a fiddle!...the next person can go now." Lottie said with a smirk on her face.
Alex looks up to Charlotte as she walked out of the exam room exclaiming that she had past the medical. He pushes himself off of the wall with his elbows and excuses himself from the two women he'd been taking to. Alex wanders into the room and sits himself on the table.

Stepping back inside the exam room, Joseph looked over and began setting out his instruments once more when saw the next person come inside... Alex looks up to Charlotte as she walked out of the exam room exclaiming that she had past the medical. He pushes himself off of the wall with his elbows and excuses himself from the two women he'd been taking to. Alex wanders into the room and sits himself on the table.
"What do you want me to do doc?"
"I would say 'sit on the exam table there' but I think you beat me to it," Joseph quipped, watching as the young man climbed up on the exam table; draping a stethoscope around his neck, he said, "If you'll go ahead and undress from the waist up, we'll begin. It'll just be a simple physical exam; I'll check your heartrate and breathing and also check to make sure that there aren't any bite marks, scratches or anything that warrants looking at or watching." After a moment, he added, "So, what's your name?"
Post by Joseph MacMillan on Feb 12, 2017 21:21:20 GMT -5
"Oh, I thought I detected a bit of an accent there," Joseph said as he checked Alex's heartrate and breathing, pausing to listen several times; not finding anything, he continued on. "What part of England were you from originally?" he asked, wanting to gauge the man's mood and attitude and figuring the best way to do so was simply by talking to them and listening to what they said...

James-Vincent pulled his coat closed as a breeze rolled by. "God. Damnit. Should have stocked up on more layers in the city." As he limped along he thought warm thoughts, keeping his head down when he stumbled upon what appeared to be a barricade. James-Vincent looked around cautiously, muttering under his breath. "Could be a raider camp. Or be overrun with those things." As he searched he found neither dead nor living humans. Good and a bad sign. Drawing his gun he began investigating the area more thoroughly. After finding no signs of the creatures or people, James-Vincent decided to do the only thing he could. "This is a bad fucking idea." He sighed. "Hello! Is anybody here? I mean no harm!" James-Vincent looked around paranoid searching for any approaching entities.
"Originally, I'm from Manchester but I where i lived was on the outskirts of the city. My parents sent me to a private school in Altrincham because they wanted me to achieve the very best for what I wanted to be but they never sent my brother to the school, he stayed in the city." Alex replies with a shudder as the cold metal from the stethoscope made contact with his skin on his back and his chest.
"I originally wanted to be a brain surgeon but when I moved here to go to university I changed my mind. I didn't want a family either but I ended up with one." He chuckles softly at his own, pathetic joke.

"Manchester, huh?" Joseph said as he finished examining Alex's upper body; not finding anything out of the ordinary, he draped the stethoscope around his neck and added, "Manchester's a beautiful city; traveled there once for a medical junket...the junket wasn't anything memorable but our hosts took us over to Old Trafford to watch Manchester United play Liverpool; unfortunately, the hosts didn't like it every time I cheered for Liverpool, so...," chucking at the memory of the visit. "To top it off, I think it was the time Gerrard scored a penalty brace against the Red Devils and Liverpool won 2-0, which I suspect didn't make the fans happy one bit," stepping back from the exam table.
After a few moments, he said, "If you'll go ahead and undress from the waist down, I'll finish the exam in short order here; it'll be the same as for the upper body - just an exam to make sure there's nothing out of the ordinary."

Before either Sarah or Commander Smull could say anything else, Sarah's radar squelched with news that yet another person had wandered up to the barricades...sighing quietly as she keyed the mic, she said, "Understood, Perch; one at the barricades. Keep an eye on them; Sarah out." Looking around at the others in the hallways, she called out to them, "Hey, I need two volunteers to come with me out to the barricades; we got another survivor we need to pick up..."

Stepping into the kitchen, she saw a person who was at work at making something for the dinner rush. Stepping to the fridge, she opened it and pulled out a bottle of water and an Apple. Taking a bite from it and closing the fridge door, her ears perked a bit when she heard a radio on a counter close to her go off about yet another Survivor. Shaking her head, she looked at the cook who was still busy. Hannah reached over and picked up the radio and clipped it to her belt. Stepping back out into the hallway, she would then hear Sarah's response and then heard her say as she was walking back to the small gathering of people that she needed two volunteers. Swallowing the bit of apple she was chewing, she would then raise the hand in the air as she leaned herself against the wall.
"Sure, count me in. I'm guessing with the Commander still standing out here means he hasn't been checked out yet and with the other man not out here, he is getting checked over now. So...I guess we will need one more for our little trio of Amigos." A Smile was over her face as she took another bite from the apple and was chewing on it, in waiting for a response. Undoing the bottle's cap with her thumb and index finger, she lifted the bottle up and swallowed a good portion of it down along with the chewed up apple that was in her mouth. Putting the cap back on and setting the water bottle down onto the floor, she looked at the younger girl. Thinking for a bit, she took her throwing knife out and cut the portion she bitten off, off the apple. Walking over to the girl, she would sheath her knife in the wrist sheath and placed the near whole apple into the girls hand. "You need to eat, so have the rest of my apple little one. You need to recover all the strength."

"okay, that's two," Kate heard Sarah say after Hannah volunteered to go pick up the survivor out at the MacArthur Bridge; after a moment's thought, she whispered to Chris who was nearby. "I'll be back in a little bit," she said, kissing Chris on the cheek and brushing a few stray hairs aside. Getting up from where she'd been sitting, Kate raised her hand and in a calm voice said, "I'll go as well, Sarah."

Hannah placed an apple in Lottie's hand and looked up at her. A thankful smile crept onto Lottie's lips. "Thanks.." Lottie managed to put out before sinking her teeth into the juicy fruit. Charlotte savored the taste and sighed in satisfaction as the food filled her up.

"Alright, that's three, let's go," Sarah said as Kate volunteered to go with both her and Hannah out to the barricades to pick up the survivor who'd wandered up to the bridge; looking over at Commander Smull, she said, "I'll be back in a little bit; if you'll wait here, the Doc should be with you in a few minutes." Turning to walk towards the main entrance, she glanced over at Hannah and said, "We'll take one of the Humvees' out to the barricades and back....you're driving," winking at Hannah a moment as she spoke.

Hannah watched as Katie volunteered to go along with. The former thief was turning around to start heading down towards the entrance when she heard Sarah talk to the Commander about waiting and that the good doctor would be around to see him in a short while. Once they were on the move, Hannah and Sarah walked in step of each other side by side. Her right eye looked at Sarah as she explained that they were going to be taking one of the Humvee's to see the newest person to the Island. But, when she said that Hannah was driving, Sarah winked at her. Smiling, a blush came to her cheeks as she stuffed her hands inside of her pockets. "Now I have a feeling there is going to be a reason why you want little ol' Me behind the wheel and not riding Shotgun. And afraid of taking a liking to riding in my rig?" Walking towards the entrance, she looked out the doors and saw that the heavy snow was about to hit soon. Frowning a bit, she looked at it. "This is going to be one hell of a snow storm that is about to hit us. The keys are still in the vehicle's, right?"
Opening the doors, she quickly hurried to the first humvee that was in sight since she didn't have long sleeve clothing on. Jumping into the driver seat, she lowered the visor and the key for it slid down and into her hand. Shaking her head with a smile, she slid the key into the ignition and fired up the diesel engine. Looking down at the shift stick, she saw 1-3 and then D and R. "Now what was it I was told about these things....1st is one person, 2nd is two people, 3rd is three people and D is a full party." Once everyone was inside and accounted for, she shifted the stick to 3rd. Putting her foot on the gas pedal, the Humvee began to drive on down the road. Turning around, they started they're way back to the Barricade.
Alex swiftly put his shirt on then took off his combat boots and socks followed by his soaked trousers. He folded them into a neat pile at the end of the table and repositioned himself so the doctor could get a better look of his legs.
"So tell me, I heard people outside calling you the good doctor, how'd you get that title?" He asked sounding rather interested and much happier than before.

"Now I have a feeling there is going to be a reason why you want little ol' Me behind the wheel and not riding Shotgun. And afraid of taking a liking to riding in my rig?" Hannah said as they stepped outside, the snow coming down once again with an almost heavy, wet meteorological malevolence. "This is going to be one hell of a snow storm that is about to hit us. The keys are still in the vehicle's, right?" she added as they walked up to the Humvee.
"Yeah, the keys are still inside; if there's one advantage to being on an Island, its' that you can leave the keys inside the vehicle and not have to worry about someone stealing it later on," Sarah replied; glancing over at Hannah as they started off down the road towards the MacArthur Bridge, she thought about what Hannah had said earlier..after looking back at Kate and noticing that the medic was standing in the turret area watching everything outside, she leaned over a little and said in a quiet voice, "Oh, just wanted to see how you handle driving other vehicles," Sarah quipped, adding slyly, "besides, we can always do some riding later if you'd like; some indoor riding...because we've got so much to talk about, Hannah," leaning back into her seat and looking out the side windows and wondering who was at the barricades but also making it clear that there was something there between them; what it was, she didn't know...but the way the weather's going, we'll have time to find out those things, she thought...
