“Frankly, I wouldn't expect anyone outside of Dallas and June to give two shits about me.”
Lily knew where she stood. Most didn't like her. Most of that was her fault, but she'd never admit it. Dallas would still be passionate about going to the rescue and June would probably be more willing to lay her life on the line, but that was life. People had their biases. And Lily hadn't even spoken to Anthony since joining the group. Or really anyone aside Luca for half a second and Remy whenever she felt an insult coming on.
“That said, I never once suggested abandoning him. But we're going to be little good to Mr. Jolly if we get ourselves killed because we're angry and not thinking straight–”
Lily was cutoff by two gunshots that sounded like they came from outside the building.
“Shit!”
Lily went over to the window to see none other than Goldilocks herself headed where the gunshots fired off. Damn. Walkers didn't eat her face off while she was away.
“Your girlfriend's bad luck,” Lily told Luca flatly, grabbing June by the hand while taking out her gun in the other one. “Stay close.”
Colette stood there, only Cade would know how she was truly feeling. She had learned a long time ago to keep her emotions in check. Her face was a blank slate, no tell to how much it was pissing her off, the way Dallas and then Lica accused them of basically being cowards. Dallas was very lucky, she liked him and had toyed with the idea of giving him a toss. Unfortunately, him and Lica both had crossed a line with her, especially Dallas with the words he threw out at Cade. He didn't know Cade, who he was , or what he had been through. He especially didn't know what he meant to Colette.
The dark haired woman had been silent, letting Dallas and Luca spew there vomit, and then ask for her help, really? Did he honestly think she was so soft and mushy inside? That sonofabitch was getting ready to be brought up to speed, really quick.
As he confronted Cade with his question, she raised a hand to move him back from Cade," first, let me make this perfectly clear." Her tone was low, but razor sharp," back the fuck up off him." Colette moved to stand between him and Cade," you," she glared at Dallas, then Luca," two assholes are doing exactly what he's fucking wants, as far as US being cowards, don't come the fuck up into this city and make judgements about situations you know nothing about!" Colette glanced at Cade," you two macho mother fuckers think you got it all worked out. Go in, guns blazing and get back your man." Colette laughed," truly, well, let me school you on a few things," she moved away," no we haven't resorted to all out war with Acer, he has superior numbers, at any given time he has ten to twenty men , just on watch." She glanced at Lily and June," listen to them, make a fucking plan, perhaps speak with me , Cade and him," she pointed to Dan," find out what you're walking into." She glanced at Cade, then Lily," I have no problem taking in your people, but once they come with me, they become part of my group, since you won't be coming back."
The doctor walked in, and at least he sounded like he could understand reason," just in time ,Doc, right?" She smiled at Andrei, a sweet smile," these two are getting ready to throw their lives away, taking on the enemy without a plan." Colette locked eyes on Dallas," just so you know, if it was me, Cade wouldn't do a fucking thing, you wanna know why?!," her voice raised," because the needs of the any out way the life of one! The life of one means shit compared to keeping a couple dozen alive!" She glanced at Cade," he would be smart, work his informant, get information, create a plan." Colette looked around the room," Any of you who would like to survive the next few days, come with us." She needed to find Clayton. Just then shots rang out and she chuckled," and so it begins."
June still didn't know what to say. She didn't want to leave an innocent person behind to be tortured, but what did they expect all of them to do? June could shoot, but she didn't have any combat training. She wouldn't know what to do when things got heated. Even with a gun in her hands she'd likely end up dead. It seemed only Dallas and Luca were the ones to have any training to actually help them in that situation. Why was not wanting to die being perceived as a bad thing? June didn't like this. She didn't like it one bit, but there didn't seem to be any reasoning with Dallas as this point.
“Dallas...”
Bang! Bang! What the hell was that? Lily ran over to the window and made another snarky remark about Remy. What? Were they under attack? June felt Lily grab her hand and kept her close.
“O-Okay! Candy, come over here we're leaving.”
Looked like they had no choice but to go with Colette after all. June went over to grab some of the food. It wasn't hers, but someone had to remember the food. June didn't have anything else to grab since all she had were the clothes on her back and that stale pizza long since thrown out. Lily led her by the hand over by Colette's people ready to head out.
The blonde woman outside had told Clayton to find Andrei--thankfully, Andrei and Holly were the only two people Clayton knew from this group, and he knew he was a doctor. Clayton ran back to the apartment, barging in the door. He stumbled upon some large meeting, the discussion at hand remained unknown, but Colette and Arcade were there. "There you two are," he remarked quickly, a bit winded. Andrei was there, too. "Andrei, it appears someone was hurt by the gunshots, and you are needed--again. This way. I don't know how much time we have," Clayton motioned with his hand for Andrei to follow before turning to look at Colette and Arcade. "Oh, I'm with them," he added briefly for those that didn't know him.

It had been 2 maybe 3 months since Candy had been forced off an oil rig at gunpoint. She felt the brewing hostilities over how to help Anthony was eerily familiar to how that whole tragedy on the oil rig started out. Different groups forced together growing into the Brady Bunch from hell.
Candy wanted Anthony back maybe more than anyone besides the people who had known him longer, but the back and forth dredged up those ghosts. Ghosts that had her wondering if these strangers would let her live to see Anthony rescued whichever way it was. For a couple heart stopping seconds, she was sure Colette and Cade were there to bring out the guns after Dallas had gone and held Dan to the wall.
The continued heated discussion didn't let the little girl relax, but the edge she felt did fall away, simply because everything hadn't escalated further. She shook and stood tense, ready to run...but to where?
The little girl held her breath and went still for the first instant she felt Dallas hug her. That quickly changed, Candy snapping her arms in to hug him back for dear life. Every word sinking in, she was reluctant to let go. If a quarter of what they were saying were true, she could end up losing her third guardian in almost as many days. In foster care since she was 5, changing homes and authority figures was not unfamiliar to her. The idea of losing one was never an idea she cared to entertain. Before Dallas let her go, she uttered in her barely audible tone, ”Please come back.”
She started thinking of what she wanted to bring with her, maybe the toaster. It would fit in a pillow cas- Gunshots rang out, derailing that train of thought hard. Candy was sure that Acer had already come for them all. She stayed right at Dallas's side until she heard June call for her. The toaster would be staying. She followed June to help collect food. Her inventory lists would now all be useless, though the list food, the list freshest in her mind, proved quite useful. Candy dashed into Remy's room to steal and peel one pillow case free of its pillow.
Returning to June, she held it open and pointed out where different non-perishable foods were. Food collected, Candy stayed close to June, not liking one bit going off with Lily and Colette's people. Adjusting her little plastic princess tiara, she would part with a pleading glance back to Dallas over her shoulder.

Cade glared at Dallas as he spat at him. Collette spoke up before he could though, going on about the same point he had made. They would just die if they went, why couldn't the two see that. They argued and threw around assumptions. If they wanted to die, let them. The two idiots were going to rush head on into an army without a plan, or knowing what they were up agaisnt us.
He looked at Collette at what she said. Would he leave her? Or would he fight? He would first check with Dan, see what was going on. He would first try to sneek her out with Dan's help, but he wouldn't just rush in. But he wouldn't leave her. They also needed to see fom their perspective, would these men be willing to do anything for them if it was one of Collette's people. They wouldn't even hesitate to just ignore them.
"Let's just move on," Cade said, "let them die. They want to commit suicde then do it. I'm not throwing my life away. If people want to come they can. Dan offered a plan, it's better than any other you have. Rushing in there without one isn't the right idea. Think it through, use Dan as an inside informant. Acer won't kill the man yet, you still have time. He'll want information."
"I can ensure you I'm not with Acer, not any more. I never really was, I just took advantage of not dying. Remy trusted me, saw good in me, I hope you can too. She offered a safe place to stay, but I don't see that here. It's already to late, you've been pinned as a target. I don't know what Acer's plan is, but it involves your group. He will most likely try and get answers out of Anthony, learn your strengths and weaknesses. He needs him alive to do that. Your friend should still have time," Dan said looking at Dallas.
He listened to Collette speak then Cade.
"I wouldnt be telling you all this if I was still working for Acer. Ask me anything and I can answer it. I've been feeding information to Collette's group for the past few months, or better part of a year. They trust me, and you seem to trust them."
Cade nodded along, "he was my contact. You can trust Dan."
Dan spoke again. "Now I may be able to get anthony out, without risking your entire group, and any more lives. But you have to trust me." He paused for a moment. "Or you can use me for a trade. Acer still believes I'm with him. I have to go back and retrieve my things anyway. If you show up at the gates, with me tied and bagged, he may agree to trade anthony for myself. I am their medic, they would need me. I've saved to many of his men for him to just toss me away. Once the trade is done you and your group run, find a new place and fortify it."

Luca mentioned someone named Jackson as being a spy for someone named Acer. Who the hell names their son like a laptop?
"Who the fuck is Jackson?" Andrei found himself asking. There were a shitload of new people and this entire thing was turning into a clusterfuck, which meant all the greater chances that someone will lose control of their emotions and do something stupid. "Did this guy just show up and you people took him in? For fuck's sake, we've been doing this goddamn thing for two whole years, and you still haven't learnt anything?! And now you're going to just charge in the guy's base, even though everyone keeps telling you you're outgunned and that he's got tens of people?!" The more he spoke, the more astonished and annoyed he became at the whole situation. He let Colette and Cade say their part, with Clayton barging inside not long after, saying Andrei was needed again. Just great. He covered his face with his palms, inhaled and exhaled whilst bringing them together under his chin.
"You!" he pointed at Dan "You're from that guy's group? Draw a map or a sketch of the compound, to the best of your abilities. I trust Dallas and Luca will be able to plan accordingly." he moved towards Dan whilst speaking and by the end he was right in front of the man, looking straight into his eyes. "I'm going to say this one and you'd better remember. If they don't come back, I will make it my personal mission to turn your life into a living hell and keep in mind that unlike your normal psychos...I know perfectly well what I'm doing, to a cellular level." with that he turned away from the man, and went quickly into Remy's bedroom, coming out with a pillow, stuffing something into its cover.
"Holly!" he called from the apartment's kitchen, removing some items from the first aid kit he carried around. A needle and thread, forceps, needle holder and scissors. Using the scalpel he cut over the part of the pillow cover that had a red rag stuffed under it. "I'll show you how to suture a cut. Now, you take the needle in the needle holder from the middle and press until you hear the clicks. Using the forceps, you take a piece of the skin, represented by the pillow cover, and drive the needle through it by turning your wrist. Then you do the same with the other side. Once the needle is fully through, you leave a small bit out through the first hole, a short end. Then you take the needle with the forceps and loop it around the holder twice. With the holder you grab the short end and pull it through the loop. Then loop it once and pull the short end again. Once again. Then you cut, and move on." Whilst talking he moved slowly with wide movements to let Holly see what he was doing. Once finished, he watched her do two sutures on her own, correcting where necessary. "Okay, keep practicing and head with the others. I'll go with Clayton and meet you at their compound. I don't know what we'll be facing, and I can move easier if it's just me. Remember to get the bag of food and water from our place. See you soon!" and now he moved towards the door, to go with Clayton to where he was needed, but stopped in the doorway, remembering an important detail.
"Dallas." he said "I got some guns and ammo from Bear Lake in my apartment. Ask Holly to show you where they are. They might prove useful." with those final words he stepped out, stopping on the first floor to get some more medical supplies, his katana and his bow and arrows. Following Clayton silently, they passed Cade's men. Andrei threw the bag of supplies to them. "I know what's in there. Don't take anything!" he said whilst continuing on his way with Clayton to where the gunshots were heard. Never a dull moment.
Holly hadn't said a word. She had stood behind Andrei while he spoke to the others. She eyed the dark haired woman that spoke about this other group. Her mind was a bit stuck on Damon. He had asked them , her and Andrei, for help with Sam. That had been the blonde that had came down and said Damon need to see them. Holly had thought the girl looked sick, but hadn't realized what was truly wrong with her.
Damon was leaving going with these two, Luca and Dallas to get back Anthony. She had been paying attention. No one really wanted to interact with her, but he was putting together names and faces. Aron volunteered to go with those two. Holly thought the woman and Andrei had a good point, about a plan.
Andrei showed her how to suture and told her to practice. Said he would see her again, soon. This whole thing had gotten out of hand. She would have to wake the girl, so she would leave with them. Andrei said something about the weapons, she knew where they were. Course she did, but she was not handing them over to Luca. " Aron, I can give them to you." She stared at the man, then said," I have to go across the hall, get Sam up and going, then I can show you , I have to pack it all up anyway."
Holly moved to the apartment door, that Sam and Damon were sharing, and knocked loudly," Sam! Sam! We gotta go, Damon sent me to wake you up!"
With so many people talking, with different points of view, it was hard to make anything out of what had been said in the room, or even get a word in. Andrei came in the room and made the most amount of sense out of everyone, he also found it stupid that they had let Jackson in like nothing, without checking, that could also have been said for the many people standing in the room right now. In response to Andrei's talk of the people not learning anything, he added in. "Like that." He clicked his fingers to show how quickly he'd just been let in. "No checks or anything, we just let him in." Aron shook his head, choosing to let someone in was probably not going to be his decision, knowing he wasn't at the top of the group. He was surprised the supposed leaders just let him in.
Getting an idea of the place was probably the best thing to do. If they could use Dan's knowledge tot heir own advantage, it was more likely to succeed. Some of these people sounded as if they expected them to barge in with no plan whatsoever, which was just wasn't right. He slipped back and watched as Andrei left the room, stating that he had spare weapons and ammo. Holly pointed out that she could show him where they were after getting Sam up, that was incredibly kind of her. "That's very generous of you, thanks. Just give me a shout when you're ready." Aron smiled and moved back next to Sasha as he waited in the room.
The shots were heard by all, too much was going on...too many new faces...Colette, Arcade, Clayton...Dan. New faces were dangerous, as made evident by Jackson. Luca ground his teeth and narrowed his eyes, his gaze falling upon Dan. "Alright, alright..." the urge was back. Luca reached for his .44, nearly taking it out and pointing it at the man, but he restrained himself. The last time he'd done something similar, Dallas had punched him in the jaw. "You draw up a map, tell us how you're gonna get in and get our man out. And if I don't like the plan, I'm gonna put one in your kneecap, tie you up, and trade you for him. Sound good?" Luca's stare was cold and without emotion before it finally broke and he looked around the room once more--just now realizing Remy was nowhere to be seen. Suddenly his priorities were conflicted--would he go after the man they'd lost, would he stay here and force Dan to hurry? Where was Remy? With those gunshots, things couldn't have been good, though Colete seemed calm about them, as if this was expected.
Luca ran his hand through his hair nervously, out of habit, before again looking at Dan. "Come on, then, get going. I'm not fucking around."
Dan watches as the new man approached him. He threatned him, saying he would harm him if anything happened to them. Dan didn't know what to do, just stayed pressed up with his back to the wall as the man spoke. He wasn't a fighter, and honestly this man scared him, he believed every wor he said, there was truth in his voice. Remy had lied saying this was a safe place, two threats back to back, defiently not safe.
Once the man left, the one he still assumed was Luca told him to draw the compound. "You have a pen, paper. Anything," Dan said moving over to the counter, a flat surface. There was a piece of paper on n the fridge Dan took it off, turning it overs on he could write on the back. Once someone gave him a pen he started drawing.
"There's three floors, but I've only ever been on the first two. I don't go up to the third often, maybe once or twice my entire stay there. I don't know that floor, but I can draw the others. I'm no artist, so bear with me." He sketched the first floor plan the best he could, labelling, the living room, the kitchen and garage on the main floor. The back yard. He drew out in a line.
"I need more paper," he said moving around, "you know where there is any." There was some kind of advertisement on a tabel near the front. "Grab that," he said pointing to it. Once it was to him he flipped it over, sketching the second floor, the rooms, and his lab. He made sure to include the balcony around it. "Balcony wraps around, acces from nearly every room."
Dan turned the maps so Luca could see. "Okay so each night Acer locks the doors, no one in or out. What he doesn't know is that my lab, up there on the second floor, it has acces right to the balcony, and the door doesn't lock fully, only appears to. Now the guard on that side tend to slack off, will often talk, and fool around. An hour in and one of them sneaks off, leaving an opening to the tree out front. I've done this loads of time before. Over the balcony, down the tree, as across the yard to the fence. It has heavt greenery and is shaded from the tree. Once at the fence is where I usually meet Cade. We exchange information from there. Now obviously with your man it will be a bit different. If I can get him over the railing, and to the fence, someone could have a ladder, or a rope to pull him up and over. It may take more time, but another person could cause a distraction. A fire, in the house across the way, or next door. People will panick."
He hoped the man liked the plan. He wasn't about to get shot. He knew Cade, who already had his hand on his knife, wouldn't allow it.

Damon had headed down and seen Holly go up to check on Sam. He hoped she wasnt feeling sick or sluggish, he hoped she had kept her promise and not used. After Dan had spoke he looked at the planned area "House across the way have a nice window? I could watch with my rifle... Things like this never go smooth, and if it goes South you could use someone watching over you. Man like this wouldn't treat a traitor very kindly. All I would need is an escape route and some basic supplies."
Damon would see what people thought, fact was he wasn't going to be much use in helping get Anthony out. He was too big.
Post by Dallas Hatcher on Oct 15, 2015 14:17:43 GMT -5
What the fuck was happening? They all were falling apart. Dallas had only wanted the people not helping to get Anthony back to go with Colette to be safe. This apartment was NOT safe. He had no intention of removing any of them from the group. He had not accused Colette or her men of being cowards or anything of the sort. This was all heating up waay too fast. Andrei and Luca had both threatened Dan... Was this how things were going to be from now on?
Gritting his teeth, Dallas had enough. "Enough!" He shouted at everyone in the room. When all eyes were on him, he spoke. "I never said you were cowards, don't put words in my mouth. Nor do I plan on running off without a plan. But putting a plan together before you know how many men you have is fucking stupid." He turned to his own people. "And no one is shooting Dan! Yes, Jackson was let in, and that was Remy's call. But I stand behind it. I'm not gonna cast people out to die just because they might be spy's. But this shit can't happen again and we will talk about that AFTER we get Anthony back." Dan was already drawing up a layout of the building, that would help. They'd still need to scout the area and find the best place for the sniper rifle.
"That's too close toot all. They could shoot back at you if they saw you. Snipe has range, best if we use it." He said to Damon, already over to where the paper was. We'll scout out a good spot for you. You're no use to me shot or hiding so you don't get shot." He was trying to stay calm. Trying to keep everyone else calm. If Dan gave case info on the regular, that changed everything. And he owed the man an apology. He cleared his throat, "look..... I'm sorry. I over reacted." He was conserved about his friend, but that didn't make it right. Just made him human.
Holly was knocking on the apartment door, people were telling in the distance beyond that, what the heck was going on? Sam stumbled out of the bedroom and made her way to the door. She felt sick to her stomach, a little unsteady on her feet, but she wasn't sure how long she had been asleep.
Sam yanked the door open,"what!" Holly went through the whole thing. Telling Sam as quickly as possible what was going on. Sam looked past her and saw Damon in the other doorway" he's going with them, but," if what holly said was true, that was crazy.
Holly snapped her fingers in front of Sam's face," hey, I need you to gather up yours and his things and come down stairs, we are moving to a safe house. I have to get mine and the Doc's , meets out front, Sam." Holly seemed really serious, all of a sudden, and then she was gone. Holly called out,"Aron, I'm going now!" She called into the other apartment, then headed down stairs.
Sam stood there for a few moments. She was confused, and knew Damon was leaving her, but the red head said Damon had sent her to make sure Sam got their stuff and went to safety with them. Ok.
Sam turned around and started scrambling through the apartment. She had her back pack and the little food they had found in the place. She shoved stuff in her pack, searched for his and realized he must have it. Sam sat and put her shoes on as quick as she could. Where were they going? What safe house?
She had left the apartment door open and she saw a black haired woman and blonde haired man leave Remy's place. She stood up and snagged her pack, the sunglasses from the counter, and the last two beers. She was afraid of breaking them if she shoved them in her pack.
The pain pills, where were they? Damon had them. She stood on the landing, between the two apartments, staring at Remy's. She moved in and found Damon. She hugged him and pulled him close. She was worried about him, and herself, as well," the pills, " she whispered in his ear, then kissed his cheek. She retreated away from everyone back into the hall, hoping he understood.
Dallas said he never said they were cowards, well, no he didn't come right out and say it, but it was implied. She stood there for a few seconds, then she heard Cade. He wanted to leave. That sounded good to her. Why had she even thought to try to help these people? She shrugged and turned to Cade." Let's go, if any of them want to come, they should head out to the truck." She headed out the apartment and Down the stairs. She was threw talking about all this shit.

Damon had listened to Dallas and seen multiple people he had never met speak up. His mind was still a little occupied. He felt uneasy leaving Sam behind, when he had finally found someone he actually wanted to hang around with he was finally needed by the group.
He had taken off his cap and rubbed the sweat off his head hoping somebody knew where they were going. This group simply turned up and people were expected to just up and go with them.
He felt uneasy, like something really bad was about to happen. Something beyond his control. Like a passenger on a sinking ship, the Titanic for example, seeing the Iceberg creep into view from the ice cold air and knowing that such a fate was unavoidable.
Sam appeared and didn't look like she was using, which made him happy. She whispered in his ear before kissing him on the cheek inquiring about the pills. Stepping away from the group for a few moments he searched his pocket as he had prepared to knowing he would be away for maybe four to six hours.
He took two pills out rolled up in some Tobacco paper. In an attempt to sneak them to Sam without Holly or Andrei's attention he returned the hug and kissed her on the lips slipping them into her back pocket.
As he stepped back he quietly spoke "Ill be back safe in a few hours... You going to be okay?"
Lily followed Colette out of the apartment building with June in hand, and June in turn made sure Candy was still behind her on the way out. Things had a funny way of working out. A day ago June was worried about Lily getting kicked out of the apartment, and they had to leave anyway due to unforeseen circumstances. Whether June and Dallas decided to jump ship to Colette, or not. Lily was staying. They had their own place, also knew the area, and most importantly they had their shit together. An outsider like Dallas wouldn't have to come in and pick up the slack in this group. That was all she needed. Lily stepped into the truck outside and never looked back.
Arcade was about ready to leave until a man with longer hair and bow like himself threatned to harm Dan. The man no doubt looked capable of doing it, almost as if he would enjoy it. No doubt this man would fit right in with Acer, given different options.
Then another man, one of the two acting as leaders, and knuckleheads enforcers, threatened to shoot Dan if he didn't like the plan. Cade would have none of it. The man layed a single hand on Dan and his knife was going to the man's throat. Dan had done nothing wrong, he was a good informant and a good man.
The bearded guy surprised Cade, apologizing to Dan after having just Attacked him. Cade doubted the man would not have done the same if he had know the information before hand. The man was heated, Dan would have been the target no matter what. At least the man could respect he was an informant, that was as little as he could offer.
Collette went to leave, no doubt wanting Cade to follow along. He stopped and leaned into her. "I'm going to stay, at least until I know Dan is safe, no one shooting or whatever the oter was going to do to him," he said quietly so only she could hear. He then leane away and spoke louder. "I'll meet you back at the bar, you'll need the extra space anyway."

Candy honestly thought everyone was coming along, which is why she helped fill one pillowcase with food. She was only all the more confused by what the hell these grownups she had found herself with were doing, when only Lily and June seemed to be going along with these strangers. So far they hadn't resorted to gunpoint, so her immediate fears of them were perhaps not true. She still didn't like it one bit, but she stayed close to June. Quietly she wished Dallas, Aron, Anthony and Kim would be okkay with no idea that at least one fourth of her wish had already failed. Adjusting her apocalypse-tainted toy tiara, she commented in her nearly inaudible tone to herself and to the terrycloth rabbit over her shoulder with the pillowcase of food. ”I guess that wasn't the Lost Kingdom either, Flopsy."
