Brian poured another bowl of soup and moved the line along. "There you go, eat up," he said with a smile as he leaned on his crutches. Louis and Kira both stood beside him, the older man with a drink in his hand, laughing at his own joke. Kira told the peopple about taking a solo cup and pouring there own drink.
"Think we need more from inside," Brian asked looking at the girl. She seemed happier right now, different than what she had been the week before. He was glad she could open up a bit more. After they found her she had been so closed off, many of the women were, but that was expected. Kira was quick to adapt though, taking more to being around men instead or women, which confused him a little. She seemed to be scared when in a room with Amber, or Abby, quickly wanting to leave. The other women disliked most men, Max, Charles, himself. Given what they went through it was understandable, but Kira's aversion of women made no sense.
He looked up when he heard a bike come through, quickly moving away from the table they set up to the railing. He saw the bike pull up, with Max and Dean on it. He was glad his friend had made it, that they found him. Where was Abby though? Did she? Did she not make it, had she taken a turn for the worse. He hoped she was okay, he saw Amber questioning him, but couldn't hear what was discussed amoung the three.
When they moved past him through the door and Amber said to follow he nodded and moved inside. They took Max to the Medbay, and Brian made him sit up on a the bed they provided. He then looked at both Max and Dean, seeing that the young medic was bleeding himself. Amber excused herself, rushing to tell Charles and Sarah what was going on.
Dean looked at him and Brian moved to get some needle, thread, disentfectant, and bandages. Dean spoke an he listened, "we were Attacked, bikers. I was shot in the shoulder, and have some bruising. Max took a shot to the foot, scraped his leg. It's not bleeding and he sealed it off. I didn't open the tape to risk infection, so I dont know the damage."
"And abby," Brian asked, "where is she?"
"She's fine Bri'," Max said, "she'll be here soon, wasn't wounded. When she arrives get her something for her stomach, I'm sure she'll nees it."
Brian nodded and looked at Max, "alright, take your boot off, I need to see the wound to your foot," he said as he moved back, "Dean I need you to prepare yourself, If Max's wound isn't as bad as it looks I will operate on your shoulder first."
He waited until the other doctor moved back and Max removed his his boot and pants. Brian hobbled back over to him and began to pull off the tape that started just below the place where Max had cut his pants. Brian looke at the leg. It wasn't as bad as he feared. The wound wasn't deep, didn't hit muscle or bone. It looked like a scrape along his thigh, but nothing serious.
"You removed your cast," he asked the man, "those aren't that common anymore your know, next time keep it on." Brian moved down the leg, seemed it went from his thight straight to his foot. "Your boots took most of the damge, you're lucky. There seems to be no damage to the foot, just missed it."
Brian moved back up the leg, "don't walk on it, if you do, use the crutches. There is nothing I can do further, the bullet didn't go deep, barely grazed it. It knicked it in a single space, that's where the blood came from." He applied some disinfectant and some Max wince, "it's cleaned, I'll bandage you up, then just wait in the chair."
When Brian finished with Max he helped the man into the chair beside the cot and then had Dean lay down. He fishe in for the bullet and removed it, then cleaned the wound, sewed and bandaged him up. When he was done Brian took a step back and looked at them both.
"You're healed for now," he said, "don't strain either wound to much, you got lucky. We will need more medical supplies soon though. I have a list of every thing we are out of. I'll check the wounds tomorrow. For now, both of you rest."
