After regrouping at the fence of fort Polk ride. Jace loaded all the weapons and anything of import into the HUMVEE Nicole was driving. That’s where he was riding since Arden decided to steal his bike. He let the two new guys take the car as a ride back to the house. He didn’t know them and he didn’t trust them to let them ride with weapons and ammo anywhere. Not after they had to do all the work to get the stuff. The group made the long trip back to the farm house at the bayou. Arden demanded him not bring others back to his house.
That was fine because he wasn’t going back there anyway except to get his bike in the morning. Maybe say goodbye to Amarie and some of the others. He was still annoyed that Arden went and stole his bike. Attracted walkers with the noise then left them behind but that was fine. He won’t have to deal with him much longer. It would be made apparent tomorrow to the St. Mordeaux house that Jace and his group are heading out to find a better safer place for Walker to grow up.
After a long trip they found themselves back in the bayou and turning down the driveway to the Farm house. The last night they would spend in this house and it was kind of bittersweet to him. He had spent Three weeks in that house with Susan talking and enjoying each other company. He had grown to care for her and risked his life to protect her. Took a bullet for her and if it weren’t for her she would’ve died. She was gone and Jace hoped that she was okay wherever she was.
That she had found Hannah and they were happily together. His mind flashed to them morning where he had punched Charles over his harsh words. Yes Jace made it seem like he didn’t care but he had a group to think about. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one. His attention as of late had drifted to Nicole. He just had a draw to her since her found her in the woods. She had proven trustworthy by backing him this morning. Well by not shooting him that night as well. The Convoy of vehicles stopped and shut off in the yard.
“Well that’s was a fun trip.” Jace said looking over at Nicole. “ Arden stealing my bike and drawing walkers on us. We should do that more often. Like it was a blast.” He said in a joking tone with a smirk on his lips. “So what are we going to do with these new guys? Someone will have to watch them through the night as well as have someone on the roof watching for walkers. I hope it pays off.”
