"For all we know she could be chasing a fairytale, just knew of weapons here. We don't know what we'll find," Arden said calmly as he watched Jace. "But you seem to believe her, so I'll go with it. We get these weapons, if they are there, and we get out. As fast as we can. If they don't meet up we press on."
He waited till they stopped and got out. Jace gave some kind of order and Arden nodded. If he disagreed on the way things were done, he'd let his voice be heard. But for now, it checked out. He smiled and moved along outside the car. Making sure his duffle bag was secure he made his way to the door. Jace opened it, revealing the weapons inside. Seemed Nicole was right.
Arden went to work loading weapons and anything of value into the duffle bags. He stuffed in rifles and pistols, anything he could use. Wether they worked or not, maybe they could get them to work, or use parts down the road. He moved along the shelves, cleaning out most of what he could. Between the two duffle bags it seemed him and Jace grabbed everything they could.
"Where do we get the ammo from," Arden asked looking around the room. "I don't see any."
He moved out the door with his bag full of guns. There were gunshots, Paige was shooting. "God damit, can't you use a fucking knife," Arden said as he moved forward. "Let's just get the fuck outta here and meet back up."
It was dark inside the maintenance bay. So much so, Nicole couldn't see but a few feet around the door. Everything else was in complete and total darkness.
She knew where the chain to the metal shutter was and she would have to use that to open it up. There was no power so raising it with the plunger wasn't an option. However, she was going to have to move to the chain in that total darkness. That gave her more than just a pause. It didn't help that it was about fifteen feet from where she was right now.
Keeping her M4 raised, she began to slide her feet very slowly across the floor. Last thing she wanted to do was trip over something and fall. It wasn't just the prospect of falling either that troubled her. What would she fall into? What would she have tripped over? What if, what if, what if. Her breathing picked up and the idea of staying in here didn't inspire any sort of confidence whatsoever. Her boot struck something solid and heavy. Moving up closer to the object, her leg hit what felt like a barrel. Carefully she positioned herself so she could move around it as her foot struck something else.
It felt like a pallet. Carefully she stepped up and heard the groans of the wood under her foot. Stepping up with her other foot, it creaked. It wasn't loud, but given the fact there was no sound inside the bay, it might as well have been a gunshot. Her breathing picked up as did her heart beat. She took another few careful steps and could feel the edge of the pallet. Stepping down carefully, her boot crunched on broken glass. The popping sound it made as it was crushed made her freeze. Her M4 was pointed in front of her still, though not being able to see anything didn't help.
That was when she heard a soft moan and a creak somewhere close to her.
The hairs on the back of her neck stood on edge. Her mind raced on what she should do now but she didn't want to waste a shot. Bringing her other foot down, she stepped on more glass which caused the moan to escape somewhere from inside this dark tomb again. She moved slowly still, sliding with the shards of glass under her boot. Her left had moved out to the wall and she could feel the shutter. Keeping the weapon as level as she could with her right arm, she proceeded.
The moan was heard once more but it didn't seem to be getting any closer. As she moved, she had dragged her left hand along the shutter door until her arm hit the very chain she was looking for. Huffing once, she let her weapon go so it hung limp on the sling around her body. Both hands found their way to the chain and pulled hard. It didn't budge at all.
She heard the sorrowful moan closer this time and heard something drag towards her.
Ohfuckohfuckohfuck.
Nicole pulled harder and nothing moved. Sweat quickly formed across her brow and she could hear the moan getting closer. Much, much closer. Holding the chain firmly with both hands, she pulled with all her might and leaned back as she did. Suddenly there was a creak from the metal shutter. She didn't stop pulling until there was a pop and light flooded in from the bottom of the bay door. A moment later something heavy fell on top of her and she collapsed to the floor.
She let out a scream and dropped the chain. The light provided all she needed to see. A body had hit her and she was tangled in a mess of dead weight.
"Get off me, get off me, get the fuck off me!" she screamed and flung the body to her left. It offered no resistance but the sound of the moan was almost on top of her now. Reaching for the chain from the floor, she pulled as hard as she could and the shutter lifted with relative ease and allowed light to shine within the bay. The body that hit her wore a soiled ACU patterned uniform and was headless. Snapping her up to what was coming from behind her, she saw another body with a uniform on, tied to an office chair that was missing its wheels. It was using it's legs to drag itself closer to her.
Nicole snapped up to her feet in a hurried frenzy and from her MOLLE vest she produced her spring assisted Gerber knife. Letting the blade pop free, she more than quickly made her way to the ghoul tied to a chair and dispatched it with extreme prejudice, grabbing the back of its head with one hand while she jammed the blade through its right eye with the other. Her breathing was quick, her jaw clenched tight but her eyes focused beyond the body. There were M1151A's inside the bay. Two directly in front of her and two to her left.
"Found some trucks..." she said so nonchalantly as she looked back towards the headless body. The name tape that was on the uniform was one she didn't recognize. Same with the body tied to the chair. Both of those were good things. She couldn't afford to be sentimental right now. She needed to see if these trucks were serviceable, but not before she opened another shutter.
"You guys good?" Nicole was frazzled by the encounter but she looked to where Jess and Ric were. She wanted to make sure they were alright before doing anything else.
Taking the least amount of time possible Jace loaded every weapon he would find. He didn’t care whether they worked or not. If they didn’t they would have enough parts to fix some of them if needed. He heard Arden asking about Ammo because he didn’t see any. “The ammo isn’t here. They keep it separate on military bases. That’s our next stop. “ He said as he closed the duffle bag. Grabbing his crossbow off the shelf his attention turned hearing gun shots.
“Damnit Paige.” He muttered under his breath and headed out the door with the bag of weapons. When they got outside Paige had her gun out and seemed to be having a good time. Making it to the car jace pushed her out of the way and put the bag he was carrying in the back seat of the car. “Get in the car Dumbass.” He said to Paige and got into the drivers seat. He started the car and once everyone was in he pulled away from the building.
“Have you lost your mind. Use a damn knife next time.” He said in a annoyed tone looking in the rearview at Paige. The drove for a short time to the meet up point They were the first ones to arrive. Jace put the car in park and got out of it leaning against the hood scanning the direction Nicole should be coming from. He was worried about them but they still had time to make it. He knew if they didn't get back in time Arden would want to press on.
Standing beside the car Paige waited for the others to come out of the building. Now that the walkers were gone she was bored again. It wasn’t long before both Arden and Jace came out bitching at her about using a gun. She was shoved out of the way and bags of guns placed in the back seat. She got into the car and rolled her eyes as jace chewed her out for not using a knife. “At least I killed them.” She said to him and looked out the window.
They didn’t drive long before they found the meet up spot. Paige got out of the car and stood leaned against the trunk. She was ready to get back to her bike and get back on the road. She needed to feel the freedom that it gave her. Not to mention she really was just not in the mood to annoy Jace. She had other goals in mind and the long she was hear the less she could annoy Sky.
“How long before they meet us here?” Paige said to Jace at the front of the car. She needed Ric as a part of her plans and she was looking around waiting for them to appear. Not to mention after that kiss he gave her earlier she wanted to go back to the house and lock herself away in a bedroom with him. They could pass the time before it was time to hit the road again.
Ric and the young girl head into the direction Nic send them to get some type of cans for the trucks they hope to find. The young lady explains to Ric what they are. They then found a shack with some of cans were being held. The young woman then hands over some of the cans to him as he put them in the front where the two and Nic had split up.They were then finish and stand there waiting on Nic's return. "Hey we didn't really get to meet am Ric." He said as he extended his hand to reach hers.He could tell that something was bothering her though and wonder what it was.By the look of the scar on her back showed that she had a hard past. "I don't mean to be nosey or anything but where did you get the scars?"
The young girl looks so nervous to be around him. This made him felt uncomfortable because he knew he changed but not to a monster. He will never hurt a young female if he had a choice. They then heard Nic ask if they were alright. "We good Nic.Look hurry up in there girl.In here get a nigga feeling timid." He then looks at the young girl and wink his eyes to try and get her comfortable.
Jess stood quietly in front of the shack with the gun Nicole had given her in one hand. She leaned against the wall of the building a few feet from the man she was with and didn’t much look his way. When she heard him speak her eyes shifted to him. Seeing his hand extended towards her she flinched and jumped back and away from him. He said his name and then went on to ask about the scars she had. Once she was a few feet away her hands stopped shaking as bad.
“I.. I’m Jess. “ She said in an anxious tone. The vibe she got of this guy made her uncertain. She didn’t know what to read out of his actions and she wasn’t sure she wanted to get comfortable. “I..I was take hostage by a evil biker gang leader. He made me his personal slave and I had to cater to whatever he wanted. I tried to kill him a few times and he tortured me. Beat me and burned me…. He even R…Raped me repeatedly…” She said her voice trailing off as tears formed in her eyes.
She heard Nicole calling to them but she didn’t answer her. Her eyes glanced in the direction and she saw Marcello standing in the distance which made her jump. She blinked her eyes a few times and he was gone just like that. The next thing was Chris standing a few feet behind ric. His face then turned into a walker and she started to stumble back in which she fumbled and fell to the ground. Looking up the walker was gone and Ric was left standing there. The tears welled up and started to poor. Would she ever stop seeing these horrible visions. She sat on the ground and curled her knees to her chest.
"That's stupid," Arden said with a huff, "they get attacked, have to drive down a road to load your guns. I thought an armoury was supposed to have it all." He shook his head as he moved to the car. Jace snapped at Paige and he smiled. Good they could agree on something. They didn't need to be reckless. Right now Arden needed Ammo. He had the guns, once he had the bullet she could leave. Anything else wasn't worth it to him.
As they drove back to the meeting spot Arden was restless. He wanted to move, get going. Sitting here, waiting for them, it wasn't going to help. How long did it take to get a car anyway? Why did they even need one? They had one here, and bikes. That was enough. A vehicle wasn't on Arden's mind, he could drive anything.
"What's taking them so long? We should keep going. Grab the ammo, and then wait," Arden sternly. "We don't need to wait for them. It only took three to get guns, it will only take three to get ammo." He folded his arms. "I don't like being away to long. Look at who we left, really want those people watching over the house. We should keep moving, not sit around."
The word took on so many meanings since she had been part of the military. It could literally describe any feeling or emotion you had. It could even be used in a sentence by itself. But now wasn't the time for this. She had no idea what Jess had been through. Ric for that matter. But they still had to get the trucks and the clock was still ticking.
Nicole moved towards Jess with her hands in front of her body, trying to be as disarming as possible. "Hey, it's alright. I said that I'd take care of you, didn't I? Come on," she said softly as she approached. She shot a glance to Ric with her brow raised and motioned to the jerry cans. "Move them near the open shutter. I'm about to start some of those trucks. We each are gonna take one, alright?"
When she was near Jess, she grabbed her gently but firmly by the arm and attempted to pull her up to her feet. "Whatever happened, it's over. No one here is going to hurt you. If they try, I promise they'll have to climb over my dead body before they get to you. But I need your help right now too, okay? I need you to drive one of these. Think you can do that?" She offered a smile, but there was some haste to it as well.
She didn't wait beyond that. Nicole helped Jess towards the open shutter and looked to Ric, who had hopefully began moving the cans. Helping Jess take a seat against the wall next to the open shutter, Nicole went back inside the bay, looking towards the headless corpse. He had a thigh holster on his leg with a 9mm inside of it still. At the front of the holster was a spare magazine. She moved quickly to remove the firearm and the extra mag. Ejecting the magazine currently in the weapon, she saw it had seven rounds left before she slammed the mag home.
Nicole moved with a sense of purpose as she walked back out. "Ric!" She threw him the pistol first and a moment later the mag. "You have seven plus one in the pistol plus the extra mag." Spinning on her heel, she walked right back inside the bay to the closest truck. As she passed the body in the chair, she pulled her knife free and quickly wiped it on her dirty ACU patterned pants before she slid the blade back into her vest. She opened the driver's door to the truck and found the 5988 on a clip board. She smiled as she saw the form and quickly read over it.
Window washer fluid low...
A laugh slipped from between her lips. That was the only thing written on here. Now, either that was it and she prayed to God it was, or someone was fucking lazy and didn't properly PMCS the truck. She sat in the seat, closed the door and flipped on the switched and waited. When the familiar orange light vanished, she turned the switch over and the truck roared to life. She couldn't believe it. The truck worked and the gauges were all in the green. Except for fuel, which sat just above half. She drove the truck back in reverse and prayed Ric or Jess weren't behind her but once the truck was clear, she created more distance so she could pull the next one out.
She repeated the same steps as she did for the first truck. This one had more faults but were 'reported' fixed by the mechanic's signature next to the deficiencies. The signature she recognized...
The HUMVEE rolled out of the bay with a full tank and she parked it next to the other truck, leaving both running. When she entered inside the bay again, she moved to where the two other trucks were on the left side. The interior door that led into the next series of bays was open but like this bay when she first entered was enclosed in total darkness. Nicole shivered at the sight and she glanced to the front of one of the trucks. Bullet holes lined the vehicle, as did old dried blood. It was then she saw several bodies.
Some wore uniforms, some were in civilian attire. From what she could tell, they were torn to pieces. The tires of the first truck were flat on the right side and the TC's door hung open.
Not an option.
The noise coming from her side was soft at first, but it grew louder fast. She looked towards the door into the other bay and paused. She narrowed her eyes as if that would help her see any better inside the total darkness before her. But what happened next was like it was straight out of a nightmare. From the darkness came a pair of gray colored hands, followed by several more. Then the first of the dead stepped through, immediately followed by several others, who were followed by more.
"RIC, JESS! GET THE CANS IN THE TRUCKS!" She snapped her M4 up and fired at the closest to her dropping it. She quickly fired and transitioned to another target and rinsed and repeated. It didn't matter how many she dropped. They were flooding out of the adjacent bay and they showed no signs of stopping. Sighting one more she pulled the trigger and dropped it before she ran to the other truck.
Nicole prayed this one had no issues. If it did, she'd make a break for it but she wanted at least three trucks. As she opened the door, a body was in the driver's seat. The left hand dropped outside of the truck with a pistol in the lifeless hand. She looked to the body and froze.
Cabbot...
The guilt that just broadsided her was something that was heavy and almost paralyzing. The first of the dead rounded the back of the HUMVEE. Nicole grabbed the pistol from her friends hand and took aim and pulled the trigger scoring a head shot. She looked back to Cabbot and grabbed the body and quickly pulled him from the truck and laid him down. Hopping into the driver seat, she closed the door and started the truck. It roared to life and just as she shifted from park to drive, one of the dead pressed its decayed face to the window of the HUMVEE. She flipped it off from the safety of the reinforced doors and the bullet resistant ballistics glass.
She pushed the pedal down and drove straight through the other shutter that had still been closed. Nicole prayed that Jess and Ric had did what she shouted but if they didn't they were about to be welcomed to hell by those who had been trapped in a place where hope had checked out long before the world ended.
Jace did agree with Arden about one thing. What kind of system keeps guns in one place then have to drive down the road for ammo. How the hell does that make any kind of sense? What are you gonna do in case of emergency use the guns as clubs? His eyes continued to scan waiting for Nicole and the others to appear. Arden was getting restless and Jace was starting to as well. They were restless for completely different reasons.
He listened to Arden ranting on about getting the Ammo and waiting there. He was speaking about the people left at the house and being ready to get back. Jace did agree that they needed to return as soon as possible. There was barely anyone left there to watch the house. He knew that Branden would keep the place safe but anything could happen with their forces split up so much. “Look just wait five more minutes if we don’t see them we will head for the Ammo Holding building.”
He said looking over at Arden. “I know we need to get back soon. Most of our man power is out on runs and I’m just as ready to get back as you. “ He said to arden still anxiously waiting. He hoped they didn’t run into trouble finding vehicles to take with them. He was worried because he didn’t really know or trust either of the two with Nicole and didn't know how they would handle a fight going down.
{OOC: Not posting Paige just yet. Probably next go round}
Brian heard gunshots in the distance. Three controlled shots at first, followed by clusters of gunfire at different times. Someone was either causing trouble, or they were in trouble. Regardless, it seemed to be coming from where he and Castle were heading. They'd been walking for a good minute now, and Brian concluded that they should be reaching the motorpool soon.
By the time they did reach it, Brian could hear the sound of running Humvees and gunfire mixing inside the gated area. They were jogging at this point, until Brian reached an open personnel access gate that had been forced open by gunfire and blunt force by the looks of it. Recently, too. Whoever was in there hadn't been inside for too terribly long.
It wasn't half a second after Brian stepped through the opened gate that a Humvee crashed out of a closed shutter door that housed a vehicle bay behind it. This group had recovered three working humvees by the looks of it, and Brian wasn't sure how many more than that could possibly be operational after this long. He saw the group scurrying about, one of them readying the trucks while the others ran about gathering military fuel jugs.
"Let's give 'em a hand, huh?" Brian shuffled down the fenceline to the corner of a building and took a knee, raising his weapon. He fired with precision and discipline, wasting no ammunition. Body after decaying body dropped as 5.56mm rounds punched through their heads and blew out what remained of their brains. One of the walkers got pretty close to one of the strangers who was occupied, and Brian put a round directly through its face.
Sitting on the ground trying to erase the visions from her head and regain her calm. She looked up next when she heard Nicole talking to her. Within a few moments She felt herself being pulled to her feet and she stood her hands still shaking. She looked Nicole in the eyes as she listened to her promise no one was going to hurt her again. She asked if she could drive on of the HUMVEE’s. “Yeah I can drive.” She said and followed her into the open shutter door.
She sat on the ground waiting for her to bring the vehicles out. Two vehicles left the bay one by one and Jess found her feet to go and start loading The fuel cans. The next she heard from the building was Nicole shouting to get the fuel cans loaded and gunshots. “Come on Ric we gotta get these loaded.” She helped him load them into the HUMVEE and got into the drivers seat of the first to come out of the bay. Next thing Nicole came crashing through a closed shutter door in one of the vehicles.
The horde had come out following and it had spotted her in ric. Next thing she heard was gunshots from a distance and she looked to see two men and a dog. While she was distracted a walker had gotten close enough to try and grab her and she turned around to see a bullet fly into its head. Jess looked back to the men and got into the vehicle. Hitting the pedal it sprung forward and she drove in a feast speed towards the two men.
Coming to a halt in front of them her head came out the window and she looked at them. “Not sure about you three but you may want to get into The Humvee now. Unless you want to stay here and take chances with that horde.” She said to them giving the option. She had the pistol Nicole gave her in her lap just in case they tried anything. If the one firing the weapon had wanted to kill her he could have easily from across the lot. She looked to see Ric had gotten into the other HUMVEE and was following Nicole. "Lets go guys."
"I just don't know what could be taking them so long. Ain't that hard to grab rides. Just get the keys, and drive over here. Hell even there were some rotters around, they could handle them, anyone could." He shook his head and leaned against the car. His eyes went down the road, to where the vehicle depot was. They needed to hurry.
He shouldn't have come, it wasn't worth it, to big of a risk. But they needed the guns, and the ammo. If people were to attack the house, mthey would need them to fight. Him going was the only way to get these guns. He knew Amarie would be pissed, but he didn't leave her alone. Ernie was there, Ellie too. That was enough for now.
"Five minutes. The. We get the ammo," Arden said roughly. "Ain't no need to wait longer." He moved around to the other side of the car, waiting for something to happen. He was never good at waiting.
Post by Alexander Castle on May 8, 2016 21:43:56 GMT -5
Castle followed Brian as the two moved along their path. They came to a fence and both noticed the shot up lock. They weren't alone. Not that he needed the lock to tell him that. He had heard the gun shots coming from the opposite direction not long ago.
More shots, this time from the motor pool. His eyes shot straight ahead of him in time to see one of the humvees burst out. Followed by a lot of fucking walkers. "Shit." Castle mumbled under his breath. He shot a glance to Brian as he mentioned giving this trio a hand and then shuffled on down the fence line. Castle let out a sigh. "You get me killed and I'm eating your ass." He said as he followed in suit.
Where Brian had taken a knee to shoot at the targets, Castle remained standing. It was a pretty common shooting formation for him. One kneeling, one standing. They took turns firing off round, and putting undead back down. First Brian would shoot, then Castle, then Brian again. Standard ARMY deployment style of shooting. That way they didn't run out of ammo at exactly the same time. If one ran out, the other could cover. Kept everyone alive.... At least it used to.
The young woman then told Ric that her name is Jess and that she was raped and tortured by some bike gang.Ric felt sorry for the kid.People life had changed drastically since the outbreak and the scary thing about it was that it wasn't the walkers that hurt them but the people alive,it just sickens him with the thought of it.
Jess then looks at Ric and backed up falling down as if she saw somebody behind him.He then looks behind and saw nobody. "Hey Jess you okay? Who or what are you looking at?" Nic then comes near where they were standing and told Jess everything is okay. She then motioned for Ric to put the jugs on the the Humvees. Then she threw a 9mm to Ric with an extra clip and one in the chamber. "Finally yal bless a nigga with a piece. Thanks Nic."
Ric then began load the trucks with the fuel along with Jess. They got four on each truck.Suddenly Nic burst through the gate with another Humvee with alot of zombies running behind her.Ric began shooting some of the walkers taking some down. "Jess get in the Humvee now."
Two men and a dog came to where they was and the men were assisting them pick some of the walkers off.Ric then took that chance to jump in the drivers seat of the Humvee and drove off behind Nic with Jess behind his tail.Ric then uses the Humvee radio to see if it was working."Nic can you hear me......how does this shit work?" Ric then looks at the radio handset trying to figure out how it works.
When she cleared the shutter she looked to Jess and Ric and the other trucks but what she saw was two other shooters who were engaging the dead. And they were engaging the dead in very efficient and trained manner. Jess and the truck she was driving was near the pair who seemed to have a dog. Nicole clenched her jaw. Part of her wondered if they were the ones responsible for the explosion and small arms fire but it was too late to address that. But she was confident that they were. Though she couldn't stop right now with the swarm that was behind her.
Instead, she drove straight for the main vehicle gate and drove straight through that as well. The gate snapped open and Nicole gunned the truck. She turned onto a road that would take her straight to Texas where Jace and his group were supposed to meet up. She prayed they were there and she prayed that whoever was near Jess was friendly. Either way, it was going to be sorted very soon.
As she flew around the corner and turned back on to Texas, she saw the car there waiting already. That was one thing she could check off, hopefully as a success. Her truck stopped just in front of the car and she hopped out with her M4 held tightly. Moving to Jace quickly, she looked over her shoulder to see if the other trucks were alright.
"We got the trucks, but Jess is picking up two people. I don't know who they are but they were probably the cause of the explosion. We'll sort it when they get here. You guys get the weapons?" She looked to Paige and Arden very briefly.
She didn't know Paige but she was someone that Nicole more than likely would avoid. When she looked at Arden, she kept her expression as neutral as she could. She didn't care for him though in the least and she was sure of her standing with him given her brief but definitive interaction with him back at the house.
Looking back to Jace, she kept her jaw clenched just slightly. They were going to need ammo and she wanted to go right now but there was a hitch. The two unknowns with Jess. Time was working against them. By the time they had arrived it was already closer towards the latter half of the afternoon. She didn't want to stay here the night. Maybe they'd need to stop at some point for a break, but she didn't want it to be here.
"Look, we can do this one of two ways. I can take one other person with me to get the ammo and the rest can make their way back with the weapons we have and two of the trucks we just got. We can meet up down the road off post or hell, maybe even meet back in the bayou." Her attention was fixed on Jace, because as far as she was concerned, he was the only person she was speaking to.
She paused a moment and sighed. The other was something she didn't want to do, but in order to avoid issues with Arden and new people, she continued. "Or, you all go back now, I'll take the new guys with me and sort it out myself. If they aren't people I think we should be around, they won't ever show up back at the bayou. We have too many volatile personalities there with the baby as is. If they are okay and they want somewhere to crash, I can bring them back. We could use shooters and they seemed like shooters, Jace," she whispered the last part giving him a slight nod.
While she didn't want the latter choice, for fear of having to shoot these two unknowns or get shot herself, she felt like it was the best course of action. She still wanted to stop one other place for personal reasons before they left and she doubted that Arden would go for it. In truth though, she didn't give a damn about what he thought.
Glancing over her shoulder once more, she saw the other trucks. "I think that we should go with option two. I can handle it..."
Jace stayed in his place looking in the direction that he believed Nicole and the others should come from. Time was ticking by and he knew that Arden wouldn’t wait much longer. Right when he was going to get into the car and head for the ammo with Arden and Paige. A HUMVEE came tearing around the corner with Nicole driving. The truck came to a halt in front of the car which made him a little nervous as he was leaning against the hood. Good thing the vehicle had good breaks.
“Yeah we got the weapons. Go back for a second two people? Why would she pick them up?” Jace said raising an eyebrow trying to understand the situation. He was going to open his mouth the speak but Nicole beat him to the punch speaking of options. First was her and another person stayed to grab the ammo. Then they could meet down the road or back at the bayou. He was considering it as a good option for them to do. Then the second was the one that didn’t sit well with him at all. She wanted them to leave her behind with the strangers.
Everything about that option made him anxious and he wasn’t willing to go with it. He couldn’t leave her alone with two strangers. That was way to dangerous and he just couldn’t see himself agreeing with her. She said they should go with the second option and that she could handle it. “I will stay with you Nicole. Your not staying here with two strangers that for all you know could kill you.” Jace took Nicole's arm and walked a distance from the group so they wouldn’t be overheard.
“I don’t like it. How do you expect me to leave you here with two strangers that we don’t know. It seems risky and I don’t think it’s a good idea. We can send Arden and the rest for the ammo. Branden is at the house he can hold down the group til we return.” He said and stopped for a pause. “We will deal with the new comers but there are a lot more of us than them and im sure we can handle them back in the bayou. Maybe we could use them but I don’t need them if it means risking you..”
Standing beside the car Paige waited in silence growing rather bored. Why did she get stuck with the two who had the amusement factor of a can of creamed corn? Like the silence was so annoying and the two of them each stood at separate ends of the vehicle. Both silent and its was just getting annoying. Man it would be nice if ric got back at least she would have someone to talk to.
When she heard approaching vehicles she looked to see others joining them. When the first came to a halt Nicole appeared and was asking about the weapons. Then she went ranting off about whatever and paige didn’t really care what she was saying. Instead she left them to the next HUMVEE to find ric stepping out of it. She closed the space between them and let her lips meet his. Her arms around his neck she pressed against him.
She kissed him lustfully for a few moments then broke it and looked up at him. “What took so long? I was so bored with the two potatoes I got stuck with." She said with a smirk as she looked back towards the others then back to him. She was ready to get back to the house and maybe spend some time by a fire with Ric and enjoy time alone in the tent. It would be a nice night to watch the stars and maybe even talk to one another. This thought amused her seeing as he was the first person she actually wanted to get to know.
As Ric follow Nic and Jess following behind him they finally saw Jess those by the car they drove to get here.Nic stopped in front of the vehicle and Ric stop behind her.He then came out of the vehicle and was kissed and hugged by Paige before he could even get out of the vehicle propely. She ask what took him so long. "Damn girl you really missed me huh?Almost got eaten by some walkers but we good though."
He then pulled Paige in closer and moved her hair out of her face. "Did anybody told you that you was fine as fuck?" He then squeeze her ass and lick his lips at the same time.He really been missing Paige since they left for that short period of time.He was really liking how she respond to him.She was making him feel......love,even if was just sex.
"I ain't leaving with out the ammo," Arden speaking up once all was said. "I get my half, for my family, and I'm gone. These sticks are useless without the bullets. We don't need more clubs." He watched Nicole who seemed only focussed on Jace. "So I ain't waiting here, and I ain't leavin'." Arden turned to Jace.
"If they want to wait for some bitch to pick up two strangers, let them. I'm getting that Ammo. I don't care what you think, im getting my half of the Ammo walking out of here. And the two you're talking about, they ain't coming back. Be lucky we took your ass in. If Jace hadn't spoke up for you, you'd have been out long ago. You tried to bring two strays in before, I'm not letting you bring any other."
Arden moved around to the car he and Jace came in. "I ain't waiting no longer." He huffed. Grabbing his guns from the back seat he slung it on. Walking over to the nearest bike he got on and started it up. Reving the engine he set off toward the Ammo Holding Area, he was done waiting around. He didn't care about what was left. He didn't care if he bike would attract walkers. He was promised half the guns, half the ammo. He was going to get it.
He came up upon the building and got off. Moving to the door he put his shoulder into it, after a few tries it busted open. He filled one of his bags with half of every thing. He didn't care if it would work or not. He got what he needed. Having everything secure he left what was remaining. That was for Jace, and whoever else. They could get it when they felt like it.
There were walkers approaching, following the sound of how loud he was being. Arden pulled his gun and fired, taking the ones down around his bike. He then went back on sped down the road. His aim was to get home. He didn't care about the walkers that had gathered, Jace and them were on their own. He was only looking out for a few people, his family.
(OOC: This post might seem a little salty because it is, heh. But it is addressed to the characters, not the players. I just wanted to make this point clear since this is the first time I am being somewhat combative/negative towards a character here to this level. XD Anyways, here's the post)
Jace wasn't going to go for it. He made it clear. The fact still remained that she felt it was the best course of action. She wasn't willing to risk him since he was going to lead their group. When he approached her and took her by the arm to walk her away from the group slightly, her eyes looked to his hand on her and then back to him with her brow arched slightly.
It was a kind gesture. He didn't want her to to stay with the two unknowns but what option did they have? Besides, Nicole didn't need to be rescued as sweet as the attempt was.
"I'm a big girl, Jace. I can handle myself," she said softly but Arden suddenly opened his mouth. He was impetus and impatient. Nicole tried to keep it in the back of her mind that he was 'looking out for his own' but he was dumb and the two were going to have issues very soon. And the ONLY reason he was here was because Jace brought him.
When he went to load up his 'share' of the weapons, she laughed and let him. How much was he going to carry in the weapons department? He certainly wouldn't take anything heavy like an M2 or even a 240B on his bike, of all modes of transportation. How much could he possibly load in the ammo department? The crates were going to be beyond heavy but if he wanted 'his share' he was going to take what he could carry. This was another reason she wanted the M1151A's.
Out of respect for Jace she didn't say what she really wanted to about Arden. She opted for this instead; "Your 'friend' and I will have a very serious disagreement very soon." She smiled though and blessed Arden's heart since he wasn't able to think with his brain. Either way, if he was going to grab whatever ammo he could, Nicole saw no reason to wait then. The noise the bike would draw there before they arrived made her want to move quickly.
"Jace, we need to go. We need 5.56 single cartridge and linked ammo for the M4's and the 249's. Linked ammo for the 7.62 and the .50 cal. M9 ammo, both ball and hollow point if we can. And whatever miscellaneous things we can use, like extra magazines but we need to start going now. Follow me."
Nicole moved to the truck she was driving and mounted up. She cut the wheel and followed where Arden had gone. It didn't take them long to reach the AHA but when she had arrived, she saw Arden peeling out, no doubt carrying what was 'his' but Nicole smiled and flipped him off as she passed him.
With that out of the way, it was time to get 'their' share of the ammo now. Nicole stopped her truck near the small arms 'building' and opened the rear hatch of the truck. That was a loose term, considering it was more like a bunker rather than a building. But that aside, she began to load up one crate at a time with 5.56 ammo, making sure to alternate between 'linked' and 'single' cartridge. There wasn't nearly as much as she thought there would be but it really didn't matter. There was going to be more than enough. More than more than enough.
The crates were heavy and she was beginning to strain a little but they needed as much as they could get their hands on. She looked to the others and pointed to another 'bunker' that housed ammo that was about fifty meters away. "7.62 is in there! Linked! Also keep an eye out for ammo sacks for the 240B in that building!"
Nicole went back to gather magazine crates now for the M4 and ammo pouches for the 249. After loading up a few more crates of magazines, she paused to take a breather. It was going to be a rinse and repeat for the M9 and M2 ammo.
Moving her truck, she did the same for the M9 ammo, loading up a few crates of ball and hollow point ammo and a crate of magazines. She was almost spent by this point but she called out to the group. "We need M2 still!" she called out and pointed towards another bunker farther down. She wiped at her brow to clear the line of sweat that had formed. She looked to see where Jace was, got inside of her truck and drove up to him.
She slide open the window and poked her head near the opening. "Finish up here okay? There is one more place I need to hit here before we go. I'll meet you at the fence line where we entered." She knew he would protest but she had to go. And before he had the chance to argue the point, she took off down the small service road that lead them to the AHA and turned back onto Texas and drove quickly towards the barracks near her Company building.
Shauna Kelly: That helped, thank you
