The fish was good. Filling and full of vitamins and protein they needed to keep going. Anything that was left over would be eaten anyways and she suggested they make a stew with some local fruits and veggies if they could scavenge anything. Ellie had brought beans...lots of beans...with her that added to the meal. Everyone would get their fill and food would be held for Jace, Arden, Ellie and Tobias for their return. She had no idea they were bringing company with them. She kept the left over food wrapped in foil and on a pan near the fire to keep it warm for them.
After the meal she went up to wash up in private for a bit, leaving Owen and Daisy time to catch up by the fire. It was easy to rummage through the clothing in the house to find something to wear. Ellie gave her one of her old tank tops to wear and although it was a little tight, it was clean and that's all that mattered. She even managed to pump enough water from the old well into buckets to carry upstairs to wash her hair and clean up enough to feel decent. She tried not to use too much, leaving some of the soapy water for Owen if he wanted to clean up in the master bathtub also. That was her stamp to claim the master bedroom so Arden could have his room back and she was looking forward to taking advantage of this room.
Once she was cleaned up and her wet hair was patted somewhat dry, she went back down to the fire and found a space next to her cousin Ernie. Owen and Daisy were sitting next to each other with Damon sitting on the other side of Daisy. Ellie was sitting on a log all by herself looking like she was weaving a basket from some fronds she picked out from the yard. No sign of anyone else right now, but that didn't mean anything. They were probably off doing their own things and she could relate to that. She leaned over to Ernie and gave him a quick kiss to the cheek as she smiled a bit to him.
"It's good to see you again Ernie. Not sure I ever properly thanked you for what you did."
Her eyes didn't stay long on Ernie though as she looked across the fire to Owen, watching how he interacted with his sister and mostly watching him. If he were to look over, he would certainly catch her staring at him. Ellie was looking between her cousin and Owen, shaking her head at this weird interaction. Maybe it was clear something was going on between them even if hadn't been anything more then a few kisses on the docks. She was trying to be sheepish about it all even though Owen told her he didn't care and wasn't about to keep anything a secret. That wasn't like her though. Maybe she should wait for others to join at the fire but she knew she wanted to pull him aside...and soon.
