(Set during the future time skip on the farm)
Jack drove down the road in the black hatchback SUV. He wasn't going very fast, just keeping a steady pace. They didn't want to miss anything as they came into town. You'd be surprised how much gear you found on the empty road. Packs left in gore mess of dead bodies. Empty cars.
he stopped on the edge of town, two cars were on either side. Pulling off to the side he relaxed. It was still winter, though the snow wasn't as heavy. It was a nice day, sun high in the sky, causing that awful snow glare that felt wonderfull and bad at the same time.
he looked back. Sam was in the back seat, The jug of water, and box of energy bars beside him. It was the survivor pack, always locked away in the car. They had sleeping bags too. In case the got stuck over night, or extended their journey.
since there was three of the. They ravelled a little further, to a town they haven't cleared yet. It was a little bit farther awya then he'd like but that was where Amber mapped for them.
it was busy on the farm. Amber and Max had practically been gone. Spent every waking hour clearing a prepping a hospital not far from the farm. They were just starting, but they wanted no interruptions when it was time for Abby to have that baby.
"alright so what do you say we park the car here. Walk into town on foot. We can clear out a few stores, head back to the SUV, then move again and keep going forward till we cleared all we can," he said calmly, stretching his arms. Getting nods from the pair he got out and stretched his legs.
Dressed in a light jacket, and pair of jeans he made sure his side drum was secure in his belt. He held a baseball bat in his hands, opting to leave a rifel for Sam. He waited for Sam to step out and looked down the road, covering his eyes from the sun. At least there were no biters in the streets.
