Damon near burst laughing when Sam asked him to choose "I was raised on British music, stuff this person never heard of. Oasis, The Smiths... and I liked a bit of rap music. This guys taste in music sucks." Damon then without looking grabbed a CD and randomly put it in waiting for the music to start up. He turned the volume down a little so the sound wouldn't leave the room much and definitely not the house.
Damon then stood up and offered Sam his hand "May not be the type of dancing you were used to but... I never did this couple dancing stuff either. Damon Morris only danced when intoxicated and in a student bar."
Sam stared at him and tried not to laugh as he spoke about the type of music he liked," well, yeah, but beggars can't be choosers. And , you forget, I know who those groups are, I'm a travelled woman of the world."
He popped in a cd and extended his hand , his words made her laugh out loud this time. She couldn't help it,"why am I scared? Should we raid a liquor cabinet or something before we proceed?" She took his hand and moved closer to him," it's okay, I didn't do much of this stuff either. It was more raging club music with plenty of booze and drugs." She frowned for a moment , thinking about who she had been. That wasn't her anymore, she had to remind herself. Sam glanced at the scar on her wrist, but didn't pull back from him. Her other hand was still bandaged up well past her wrist , so she couldn't see that one.

Damon nodded still dancing listening to every word Samantha said "I think my days of drinking shots and singing along to nineties music are done... Need not worry about all that." Damon then began to notice a change in her facial expression and felt puzzled. He watched her eyes glance at her wrist.
"Your doing well. You know that right. Whatever regrets we may have about our old lives... Things we did, said... or didn't do. We cant change all that... Tomorrow is a new day." Damon wanted to reassure Samantha knowing her past was a trouble to her.
Sam stopped moving, when he spoke those last few words. He thought she was doing good. Maybe she was, but she knew she was still walking a slippery slope. It would be so easy to backslide.
Her eyes roamed his face, and she couldn't stop what came out of her mouth." What is it, why are you being so good to me?" She wasn't being rude or sarcastic, she honestly could t figure it out. She'd never had someone treat her like he did. He seemed to just want to help her, but why? Sam moved closer and wrapped her arms tighter around him, head going to his shoulder," I know what you say about tomorrow is true, but I still feel like I don't deserve you."

Damon hated when Samantha's mind drifted to such thoughts and he attempted to comfort her with his arm rubbing her back while they still danced "Sam, I'm no perfect man. Just remember that. We all have our flaws. Mine may not be as dark as your past. But they weigh on my conscience from time to time."
Damon attempted to smile again "I do anything I do because I choose to Sam. I couldn't explain why any more than I could explain the walkers. An explanation is beyond my reaches."
He did things because he wanted to. That was the only answer she was going to get. She felt his body close to her and his hands around her. He wanted to be here with her, to help her. Sam hated herself for doubting him, but maybe he was the genuine article. She never had someone to just do things for her, not without getting something in return.
She leaned in and rested her head on his shoulder, face against the flesh of his neck. She let him move her around to the music. This song, she had no idea what they were even listening to. He was right, this persons taste in music had sucked. "I don't mean to doubt, it's just hard." She spoke softly.
Other than the music, this place was quiet. She felt safe with him, but she still couldn't shake this feeling of fear. Sooner or later they would have to move on, and if they didn't. Sam was worried they would get to comfortable, like Colette group and shit would go to hell.

Eventually the music player stopped and Damon began to realise what the day had taken out of him his eyes growing heavy. His mind started to become a blur. Once the music was dead, in need of new batteries Damon shut the bedroom door applying a lock and setting up some alarms with some bells he found in the kids room. His eye lids barely staying open he stood making sure they were safe before turning to face Samantha.
He had driven for over 7 hours today and done some heavy lifting inside. The room was now only lit by a lamp he had found in the house. He stood by candle light and yawned heavily "Think its time I hit the sack... We have a lot to get done tomorrow." He took a seat on the side of the bed taking off his shirt he felt it rub on a wound healing for a few days and winced.
Sam hated when he let go, she fought a sigh, and stepped back. She cleaned up the food stuff as he moved around securing the room. He was right, there was alot to do if they planned to stay here for a little while. She thought of the kitchen and visibly shuddered at the idea of having to clean that up and move that dead body. "You're right, we need to try to get some sleep." She wasn't sure how god she would do. She hated the first night in a new place. Maybe being here with him would help?
He sat down on the bed and she slipped her boots off and did her best to take off her jeans. Her wrist was aching, but she was doing her best to deal with it. It was broken, what did she expect. She had done to much today, had pushed herself. She winced as she fumbled with her jeans, using both hands to slide them off.
Sam left them in a pile on the floor and crawled up into the bed, laying down, watching him. "So do you have a plan for tomorrow, or are we just going to wait til we get up and go from there?" She yawned as she smiled at him, resting her hand on one of the pillows, she had pulled it close to her chest.

Damon was sat in thought looking at the wall for a few moments until he heard Sam speak and then turned around. He had noticed her feeling her wrist and grabbed some of his cold packs he had used to cool the beer when they first met snapping them to make the chemical reaction work. Once they were cold he handed them to Sam. "Should help with the pain..." He wasn't sure at this point what to do with Sam. Would giving her the smallest dosage of painkillers lead to her sliding back into bad habits.
He folded her jeans gently and placed them on the side before getting onto the bed his rifle by the bedside "I can either continue fixing up the house, clean up that mess and maybe make somewhere outside we can light some fires... or go scout our surroundings."
He thought for a few moments "Maybe we could go for a walk around the area. Its wildlife mostly but maybe I could try some hunting... get us some fresh food. Set a trap or two for walkers."
Damon took from his pack some toothpaste and placed some on his finger rubbing it into his teeth and placed it back on the side. He glanced back to Samantha "I'm happy your here with me. Used to be horrible staying at places like this on my own." He smiled and kissed Sam before turning towards the last lit candles. He would blow them out.
