The sun was still shining when they arrived a few hours later in Florida. She saw the large sign that said "Welcome to Florida" just over the Valdosta line and she was happy to at least be in the warmth of Florida. She could feel the air getting more humid around them as they moved across the border, although it was time for them to settle in for the night. They couldn't be on the road past sundown and they only had a few hours left to settle in and figure out where they were going to go from here. At the junction of I-10 and I-95, there was a dusty little motel that seemed to have little movement around it.
With her hands still wrapped around Charles' waist, she pointed to the motel in hopes Damon would see what she was talking about as he followed them south. The little town he was in was ruined and overrun with walkers. Her thoughts went to Nate, Mia and Jake, wondering if they were still en route to Canada. If they were still alive at all.
Charles slowed the bike as he pulled into the motel parking lot and when he stopped, she got off the bike with a groan. It was nice to stretch her legs and being on the back of the bike made her legs and back sore. What she wouldn't give for a comfortable passenger seat in a car.
"How do you ride on that all the time." She stretched her arms and tilted her head a bit to crack her neck as she pulled the gun out of her jacket.
"I don't think we're going to have much of a choice here. We should find a room and stick together until the morning. Find some food while we're here."
