Anthony sat in silence as Colette snapped at Clayton. She was right, though. Everyone did need to pull their weight, and Anthony would be happy to help where he could, though there wasn't much he could do in his current state. What shocked him even more was Arcade's reaction--saying they all had to leave. That puzzled Anthony, as it seemed to contradict Colette's wish to get everyone a job. As Arcade left, Clayton must have noticed Anthony's worry. "I wouldn't have him kick you out--Colette doesn't want you gone, either. He's...passionate. Don't pay him any mind," Clayton did his best to assure Anthony. Anthony nodded and began thinking of the people in their group when he heard Leigh shout "Jesus Christ"--he looked over, but saw the girls were behaving fine, and he couldn't help but smile. It reminded him of Clem and Dakota, and suddenly his smile faded. If he dwelled on it, he'd become overridden with guilt once again. Instead, he turned his attention back to Clayton as Lily and June entered. Lily joined in the conversation, while June went to the kids. Anthony nodded at Lily's comment.
"True enough, she's a good shot, I think. And temper wise...bested only by Luca, I'd say." Anthony then proceeded to list the other names of his group, as Clayton wrote them down.

Damon Morris
Amateur Walker Slayer Who Needs To Dial It Down A Bit
This is my own Private Domicile and I will not be Walker bait... Bitch.
Post by Damon Morris on Nov 5, 2015 20:19:31 GMT -5
Damon smiled for a moment as she spoke, knowing that after a tumultuous few weeks the two of them were seeming to get along again. Damon continued running his fingers through her hair. For a moment he thought she was about to kiss him. Something the two had avoided for weeks dating back to the mission saving Anthony. It felt like the two of them had separate issues they were both working on.
Damon had probably slept for maybe 7 hours in two days now. So long out In the world he never wanted to be caught off guard. When Sam offered to get food a part of him wanted to decline her, be a gentleman and get it himself. Yet he was getting a better read on Sam. She felt some kind of debt at times. Like Damon was owed for helping her, despite the fact that in Damon's eyes he was owed nothing.
He finally stopped playing with her hair and smiled, his hand moving to his pocket he pulled out the doors key. "If you insist... I'd like the full English Breakfast and a double espresso." He chuckled.
"Seriously Ill have whatever's going. Just make sure you get enough for yourself. Need your strength at the moment." He tilted his head back against the chair with his gaze never leaving Samantha.
June-INVENTORY Lily-RUNNER Anthony-TBA (injury) Andrei-DOCTOR Remy-RUNNER Dallas-RUNNER Candy (child, ~10)-INVENTORY (talk to her) Luca-SECURITY Simon-SECURITY Aron-RUNNER Damon-LOOKOUT Holly-TBD (SHORT TERM RUNNER) Dan (Acer)-DOCTOR Samantha-TBD (SHORT TERM RUNNER) Leigh Anne (child, ~14)-MEDICAL APPRENTICE James (Acer)-TBD
Clayton reclined in his seat as he glanced over the list. He'd already assigned the jobs of the doctors, as their position was essentially set already. Clayton trusted Dan, despite being a part of Acer's group due to his relationship with Arcade. James was another story, though. They'd get to him later. He'd also save the children for last, allocating them some light responsibilities around the hotel. Anthony had voiced for Lily being a good shot, and the woman was probably quick, making her a good choice for a runner. Having been cops, Luca and Simon were assigned the job of security. Seeing as how they knew each other from before the apocalypse, they probably had a good working relationship. While Dallas could have been good security too, and could serve as security while he was here de facto, they needed someone bigger and stronger as a runner also, meaning he'd accompany the smaller, weaker men and women on their searches for supplies. Given his speed demonstrated during the rescue mission for Anthony, Aron was also selected as a runner. They'd need many runners, as a single team could get tired if multiple trips were needed. Due to his demonstrated skills with the rifle, Damon would serve as lookout on the hotel's roof, and he'd alternate with Luca or Simon or Dallas when he was too tired. Clayton recalled promising Andrei an apprentice, of sorts, in Leigh. Thinking of Andrei once again brought to mind Holly. Anthony did not have much to say of Holly, other than that she apparently traveled with bad group and joined their own. Beyond this, though, Anthony did not have much knowledge of her abilities, and thus Clayton postponed assigning her a job--the same went for Sam, as Anthony knew little of her, besides her association with Damon. They could be runners for the time being, perhaps.
There remained, then, Remy, Anthony, Candy, and June. Clayton was reluctant to give Candy a job at her age, though witnessing the toaster feat gave him some hope. Clayton had seen her taking inventory, and caught some of her conversation with Leigh. Maybe he'd talk to her about keeping stock of supplies. Clayton decided to keep Anthony as "TBD" as well, given his current state, though if he got his way, he'd have Anthony join him as "administrator" of sorts. Clayton and Anthony would probably get along, given their similar backgrounds. June would handle inventory for now, perhaps working alongside Candy so the little girl could get a better grip on it. Remy, because she knew the city, was given the job of an additional runner.
That left James. Clayton wasn't sure where to assign the man. He hadn't forgotten him--far from it. It was James that troubled him the most. He'd have to deliberate further with him.
"Make us leave with g--what? No." Leigh stammered, confused by Candy's questions. "I don't think they're evil, neither of 'em. Just...not as nice as maybe Dallas and Anthony, that's all...I shouldn't have made the Acer thing," Leigh tried to smile, though she did feel that the two men, at least Simon, did seem more like Acer's men than belonging here with them, but Leigh didn't know them well and could be wrong. June came over, and Leigh clammed up immediately. She tried to smile, but wasn't quite sure what to do. Had June heard what she'd said about Simon and Luca? Would she be mad? Leigh didn't know how closely knit their group was, and she could be in trouble if word got back to the cops about what she'd said. Instead, she waited silently for Candy to (hopefully) answer.
"We're running extremely low on medical supplies. Short term, we'll need another supply run. I'm not sure of Dan's willingness and capability, to be honest, but Holly has already volunteered. In the long run...we'll need a bigger, more secure place. I've been keeping the single use things, like syringes and tubes. If we get a Gamma radiation source or a UV emitter, we can sterilize them. Gamma is quicker, has high penetration and uses next to nothing in terms in energy. The downside is that it requires a radioactive source. UV needs electricity, doesn't penetrate well and takes a while to work."
Clayton sighed. He knew nothing of medicine, and he wouldn't pretend to. "Is there any other method of sterilization? A chemical or something? Or is radiation our only option?" Clayton looked to Anthony, who shrugged and widened his eyes, admitting his ignorance. He gritted his teeth, upset by the inconvenience, but knowing it needed to be addressed. "We don't have a radioactive source, and I don't suspect they are easy to find. Where does one find a UV emitter?" He was eying Andrei, waiting for a response. This was why he had his job--Colette, despite her good intentions, would not be the best to bring this concern to, especially in her current state.
Luca listened patiently as Remy described her dream. It sounded nice at first. He imagined the scenario in his mind playing out at one of the many resorts on Miami Beach. So nice, indeed. But he hadn't even known Remy before the world went to hell, and that scenario would never happen--except in dreams. But he quickly saw how it became a nightmare, and could imagine the terror Remy must have felt as she saw what became of Luca. She didn't seem emotionally shaken as she described the dream, but sat next to her and put his arm around her anyways. "Hey, it's alright. I'm here, I'm alive, and so are you. We're good...I'm not one of them, and I'll never be one of them. I'd..." Luca trailed off, realizing he was about to say something much heavier. "...I'd never put myself in any position to hurt you. If I got bit, I'd...make sure I wouldn't hurt you. I would make sure I wouldn't turn. I would never hurt you, you know that, right?" Luca looked into Remy's eyes, wanting to make sure his message was heard. He meant it. He'd shoot himself in the head before even risking hurting anyone here--especially Remy. He'd die before he'd be in a position to hurt her. "You and me, don't you forget it," he smiled and ran his head through his hair, remembering he'd shaved most of it off three days ago. It felt strange, but nice. Cooler and freer. "We're okay," he smiled once more before standing up and making his way for the door.
"I'll go get Simon, yeah...good idea..." Luca felt odd about it, knowing Remy wasn't his biggest fan. But she hadn't turned him away, probably for Luca's sake.
As Luca approached Simon's door, a smile crept on his face. "Your lazy ass better not still be in bed!" he banged on the door a few times, but no response. Luca followed the hallway a bit until he caught up to his buddy, who must have just left the room. "Simon, there you are. Exploring?"
Before he left to go wandering, a strange redhead came into his room. He barely knew the girl that had been checking on him but this time he was up and about and towered over her demure form.
"Yea, thanks. I'm doing better. I probably need another week. Tell the doc I said thanks. I'm getting ready to do a supply run and I know a place that has a shitload of medical supplies. I'll make up for what was used." He approached the girl and smiled. It was a genuine smile as he looked down at her. He saw potential. She had a spark in her eyes and had a feeling this girl was a ruby that had yet to be uncovered. "I should thank you too. But you probably have other things to do and I have some wandering to get to. Maybe later you and me can have a drink?" He winked at her before slipping out the door, not even giving her a chance to say yes or no. He would get that drink with her.
Simon had been walking down the hallway but nothing was really going on around the hotel. No one to really talk to but he did hear some voices downstairs in the bar. He was about to head that way to see if he could get some water or maybe something to drink when he heard Luca behind him. He had his handgun tucked in the back jeans pocket but there was no reason to feel nervous. He trusted Luca above anyone else. Of course, he should have trusted Remy after the drugged fueled admissions he made to her, none of which he had any recollection of.
"Hey man. I was about to go downstairs. I've barely seen any of these people, except the lesbian Lilly and her hot friend June. They were nice enough to bring me some food, but that's about it. No dinner and a show if you know what I mean."
He laughed a little although the pain in his side from the chuckle made him cringe a bit. He held his hand to his side as Luca came up to him.
"I should thank your friend Remy for getting me here. I don't even remember the trip. But in a few more days I'll be ready to get to that prepper that shot me. You in?"
He looked down the hallway not really hearing anyone else and he wondered how many people were actually living here. He was feeling a bit anxious about being at the hotel and not doing anything here. Maybe he could get to know these people and take advantage of whatever it is they have to offer. Luca would be in on that plan, he was sure. Although there was something oddly relaxed about Luca. He didn't have that predatory gaze that was sharp, like a knife.

While Anthony was listing off the people in their group Lily spoke once Simon's name was mentioned.
“Yeah, may want to keep an eye on him. He's been trying to get into my pants for the past two weeks. Don't like the way he talks to June, either. A real sleazebag. I wouldn't trust him around the girls.”
Lily was used to guys hitting on her in the past, but there was something off about him. He struck her as the type who didn't know the meaning of the word no, and that wasn't someone Lily wanted anywhere near June. Speaking of June.
“Hey, June! You want something to drink?”
June took a while to answer. It didn't seem like she was fully awake yet. Either that, or something was on her mind.
“Uhh... Coffee, thanks.”
“Everyone's in a coffee mood today.”
Lily went over to where the coffee was kept. Remembering June always liked hers black like Captain Janeway. Adding two cups of sugar and stirring it in the coffee prior to walking over to where June was sitting and handing it to her. Heading back to the counter soon after.

Leigh may have tried to walk the association with Acer back, but it was their in Candy's mind. She would have to be wary of them. That wasn't saying much, because she would be wary of Luca and Simon anyway simply because they were men. Cade was not so far outside that category of people to fear most, what with his behavior and what she picked up from his quick exchange with Anthony.
Candy was grateful June came when she did. Having her and Leigh Ann by her side, Candy could keep her fear mostly in check. She flashed a smile to June, though it faded to a frown of apprehension. ”Hi June. This is Leigh Ann. We were just taking about trusting them. Last time someone talked liked him.” She pointed toward the door Cade and Colette had gone out. ”Last time I heard people talk like that, they used to guns to make us leave the oil rig and get into life boats. Only Carl, Sally and me were still in the boat when we finally got onto a beach. Sally didn't make from the boat, and Carl... Carl made it to a treehouse with me... but... I promised Dallas and Kim I wouldn't tell that other part.... I don't want to know where they'd make us go. I want to stay this time. I'll do extra help. I swear. Please?”
The apprehension and fear grew in her voice as she went along, her deep brown eyes growing bleary with tears. The little girl never broke down into actual crying as she pleaded with June and Leigh as if they both had the power to decide such things. James and his toolbox did not go unnoticed, though her attention focused more on the toolbox. Candy dried her eyes one of her purple sleeves, noting mentally to go examine what kind of tools and how many were in there.
Glancing back between June and Leigh, a smile returned to her face as she held up the completed toaster, ”Look, I finished my puzzle.”
James waited for Colette to answer him and open the door, but when she did it was not at all what he had expected. She came out in a rush, pushing past him while loading the shotgun full of shells. She turned to him and explained; now was not the time, that Cade had left to see Acer, and by the look of things she was clearly going after him. Who knew what could happen if Acer and his men caught Cade, they could end up having a kidnap situation all over again, or worse. James understood clearly why she had to leave, but didn`t like the fact that it could possible mean trouble for the rest of them, or lead her to danger.
By now he had figured out there was more going on between Colette and Acer, and that she had been troubled as of late because of the peace he had jeopardized. James hadn`t wanted to cause a mess, but this was how it was and he couldn`t do much about it, unless he got to speak with her about the matter. As his gaze caught Colette`s eyes, he could see the dark circles around them, and he felt the longing look she gave him. It made him feel sad about how their relationship had turned out, how had it come to this? He thought to himself as he watched her leave.
There was no way he would get the chance to speak with her now; it had to wait for later. Meanwhile he had time to do other things, but what exactly he didn`t know. James turned around and looked toward the bar area where most people had gathered, he could stay and talk to them or go elsewhere. With cautious steps he walked over to the bar and picked up his toolbox, noticing Candy`s curious behavior. He decided to head back to his room which was on the second floor, having awakened early that day to work on the watchtower he now found himself exhausted and tired. There had been so much going on lately and the things Angel had said to him gnawed in the back of his mind, knowing well enough he had to do something to make it right.
Once he entered his room, he placed down the toolbox by the door and sat down on the edge of the bed, burying his face in his hands, stroking his forehead as he entered a deep state of thinking. Memories, relationships and all sort of things raced through his mind as he sat there staring down. He wished it all was a nightmare, that it was a dream he would soon wake up from, but it wasn`t. This was the reality now and he had to cope with it or fade, he had seen many of his friends take the easy way out in the beginning of the outbreak and if he was to be honest with himself, it was a tempting offer.
“It's nice to meet you, Leigh,” June greeted. Offering the girl her hand. June's eyes soon went back to Candy as she started explaining what they've been talking about. The girl was probably more honest than one should be in this time and age, but she was still young. There was time to learn. The fear didn't go unnoticed, and the tears had her worried. While initially it was mainly Dallas looking out for her, he had found an ally in that task with June. Candy was a little strange when compared to others, but she was the type that grew on you rather rapidly. And June didn't like to see her cry. Resting a hand on Candy's shoulder now to console her.
“Hey there. Don't worry. No one is going to kick us out. I don't know what was said, but I'm sure it was out of frustration. Things have been rough for everyone.”
What caught June attention was the story about the boat, a tree house, and a promise she made to Dallas and Kimberly. June didn't think it would be right to press further so she left it at that. June sure as hell wouldn't have wanted a third degree or anything. Lily came over and handed her the coffee. She thanked her friend and watched her go back to the counter before turning back to Candy.
“You should probably be careful who you share that with. It could raise some questions.” June spoke of the promise. Her serious expression soon turned into a smile as she looked at the toaster. “It's very nice.”
Andrei could see Clayton was in a bit of an impasse right now, and how could he not be. Radiation was not something to take lightly, and the man didn't have the same background as Andrei. Thus, some explaining was required.
"Well, there are other methods. A chemical called Ethylene Oxide, but you need to wait 24 hours after sterilization to use the equipment. There are two devices that use heat. One uses dry heat, and the other uses pressurized steam. They reach temperatures well over the boiling point. Problem with this is you can't sterilize products that aren't made of metal. And even those that are, can only be sterilized a few times until they break due to repeated exposure to high temperatures." he took a moment to think about possible locations for what they needed. If only his leg would heal faster. "I think you can find UV emitters in a dentist's office. They look kinda like a microwave oven, with trays inside on different levels and a neon or two inside. For now that'll have to do. Once my leg heals, I'll be able to go in a hospital and get exactly what we need."

Remy hated the fact that she wavered back and forth about Luca. It was moments like this that secured her feelings for him, especially when he spoke like that. Then there was the thought that Simon was here, a man from his past that she knew would try to lure him back. But ultimately, Luca would be the one that had to decide what kind of man he was. He had to know by now where she would land according to his choices. But he was making an effort. He was being helpful. He wasn't arguing or fighting with anyone. He wasn't losing control and that was admirable. He was giving himself a chance with these people.
Right now, he was the only one she trusted and when he secured the thought that he would never hurt her it made her realize that there possibly was another layer to their relationship that would soon be uncovered.
When he left, she took the time to shower and change into a pair of jeans, boots, a tank shirt and pullover sweater, letting her wet hair air dry. She missed putting on makeup and blow drying her hair, but at least she could still wake up breathing every day. It was that gratitude she had to remember. Finally, she felt she was together enough to leave the room and head downstairs to where everyone was gathered at the bar. She saw James going up a stairway across the courtyard and she was going in the opposite direction that Simon and Luca were headed. As her hair dried, the natural wave and curls formed at the ends of her hair. When she finally found her way to the bar, she went in through the back entrance doors and into the main room.
Her mind flooded with memories of her and Lily hanging out during happy hour and getting obnoxiously loud. She remembered one time when Colette yelled at her for climbing on one of the pool tables, leaving a scuff on the side of the polished wood. As she passed it by, she saw that little scrape and it made her laugh quietly. She just hoped Colette wouldn't share those stories with everyone, especially Luca who may take advantage of trying to get her drunk. Damn, she couldn't even remember the last time she was stupid drunk.
She came in with trepidation as she saw several people already there. She had no idea that Colette had already left but Lily was behind the bar while Clayton was busy making some sort of list. Clearing her throat a bit, she came to the far end of the bar and asked her question.
"Has anyone seen Colette or Dan?"
As she asked that question, she saw Anthony sitting at the other end of the bar, next to Clayton seemingly helping him out. She hadn't seen him since the night they drank wine and opened up a bit. She looked at him and saw the bruises on his face. He looked the same, but he seemed different. All she could do was look back down to the bar as she awaited responses. There was a pang of guilt that she couldn't protect him.

Lily was just as much of a lost as the others were when it came to UV emitters and all that jazz. She made a mental note of his description nonetheless in case she ever found herself inside of a dentist office. Been a while since she's been to one of those. Hell, it been a while since she had anything to brush her teeth with. Toothpaste was kinda hard to come by these days. Just then Remy entered the bar and started asking for Colette and Dan.
“You just missed her. Haven't seen ol' Danny Boy anywhere. Did you want something to drink or are you just passing through?”
June looked at Remy from her place by Candy's side and merely shook her head at the question. In her current state June could have walked right past both of them and never would've realized it. She wasn't all there right now.
Aron was one of the last ones to wake up, he'd kept putting off getting up until he felt he could no longer stay in his bed. Sitting up, he scratched at his head and slowly adjusted to his awoken state. He thought for a minute. While they did succeed in getting Anthony back, he'd lost his best-friend, Sasha. He had no idea where the hell she was, hopefully, she realized that this new whole scene was too dangerous and decided to get out as soon as possible. Not knowing was probably the best thing, that way, he didn't have to imagine her dead. Aron shook his head, not wanting to think about it anymore, that was all he'd done the past two weeks, giving him no real chance of bonding with the others or for him to be his normal self. That had to change.
Getting up, he dressed in his normal gear, running trousers, t-shirt, hoodie and of course, his cap. Leaving his room, he walked to go off and find where the others were, probably the bar. Entering the room after Remy, he missed her question, so just walked past. He noticed the people were all sat in their own little groups, doing their own thing. Aron went around the back to grab himself some water, before going back to sit on the end stool.
Nolan jerked himself awake, how long he'd been out he didn't know, but he was very lucky to have not been a rotters lunch. Everything was like it was when he had passed out wrecked ride, dead rotter, and his pistol was still in hand. However somethings were worse for one his head was absolutely killing him, a horrible hangover if he didn't get some meds.
He was completely dry mouthed, meaning he was dehydrated. A quick test by pinching the skin on his hand up told him it was worse than ever because it didn't flatten back out. Nolan stood up and sat back down in the Tahoe, "Oh damn," he grunted his body felt like it had been run over.
Nolan could cure the dehydration with the bottle of water in the passenger floor board, what he couldn't cure was the smell coming off him. As he sipped on the water he looked at his wound on his shoulder. It gagged him, the smell was one thing but the green puss oozing out of it was another sight entirely. Little did he know the dark red outline around the black bruise was the starts of blood poisoning.
The last problem was his body was shaking, all the heavy drinking for two weeks day in and day out, were the starts of his body DTing. It would get worse before it got better and he knew he needed to get somewhere to get healed and get drunk.
It took twenty mintues to gather what he was able to carry, another ten to puke, and a hour to walk in a haze to what he thought was no where. The first two story building he came too was going to be his resting place for the day, he wasn't going to make it anywhere else. His only hope was it had alcohol and lots of it!
Walking to the doors he grabbed the nobs and tried to pull. Locked. He tried again with force, but again it proved just as locked as ever. Nolan was pissed so he began to beat and kick on the door, "Dammit! I just want a fucking drink!"
This was the end of his limits, he either got in or he died.
Over the last two weeks the group had Dan playing doctor alongside the actual doctor. He didn't like it, but at least he didn't have to go outside. He was not a medical professional. While he did have a PHD, he was by no means a trusted man to fix someone. He knew as much knowledge as any other person, maybe a little more as he was smart. He knew that Cade, Remy, Dallas, and even Luca could do what he was doing. It didn't take much to sew up a wound, or bandage a cut. Anything beyond that Andrei could handle. He had expressed this a few times, but seemed to go unoticed. They kept going off the fact that he was a doctor for Acer's group, something he only pretended to be, a cover up, a ruse.
Dan had been up for the last few hours, in his room. He had two big tables on one end, covered in papers, his cooler, some beakers and test tubes. He had his notebook out, going over the last entry, nervously tapping the pencil agaisnt te desk. He sat in a chair, it was a comfy chair, way to low for the table and the arms made it awkward to sit. He missed his rolling stoll back at Acer's.
He hadn't experimented in a while, he was nervous to do so in the hotel. He only had what little samples were in the cooler, and the rest he had left behind. He didn't know if Collette would let him set up a lab, but he did so anyway, in the confines of his own room. He had rearranged furniture, giving himself more space. He needed a subject, something he could watch turn. People were to violent. He'd rather capture a walker alive, bring it back, remove the lower jaw and arms, then run tests. Though he doubted people would approve. He needed to further his research, ethical gaps were holding him back.
June was still trying to get fully awake when the smell of food flared her nostrils. Lily had gone from bar tender to cook. Smelt good. Next thing she noticed Lily was back over to her with a plate in hand.
“Think I saw James head upstairs. Looked tried. Make sure he doesn't go without breakfast, will ya? People need to keep their strength up.”
June took a sip of her coffee before putting it down and grabbing the plate.
“I'll be right back, Candy. Watch my coffee.”
June turned around and headed back upstairs. Going down the hall in search for James, not sure which room he was in. She didn't have to look too hard as she noticed one door part way open and saw James on the other side. He looked sad. So June wasn't the only one being hit with that emotion today? She cleared her throat to announce herself and gently pushed the door open with her shoulder since her hands were full.
“Sorry. Didn't have the hands to knock.” June set the plate down on the table and looked at James. “Lily didn't want you to skip breakfast.”
James was trying to calm himself where he sat, he felt depressed. He was starting to lose hope, in everything and everyone; there was nothing left to live for. People blamed him for the death of Kim, for the trouble they all had with Acer and it wasn`t getting any better by the way Colette acted. He had tried to be helpful, but there was no gratitude to be had. He felt guilty and at the same time felt sick to his stomach, having seen how Colette treated others far better than him, especially Cade. Sure, the thing they shared back in College and the first days in the hotel was just a fling, but he couldn`t deny the fact he still had feelings for her. He had even tried on occasions to speak with Remy about it, which had proven difficult due to her obsession in Luca. It seemed as everyone had someone, even in the apocalypse and here he was, all alone.
Just then, the girl named June entered the room carrying food. He hadn`t expected that at all, he thought nobody cared, but here she was bringing bread with cheese and some fresh coffee. Quickly he tried his best to show that nothing was bothering him, that he wasn`t sad. He stood up and greeted her welcome with a smile, glad to see such a kind gesture. “Oh, hello….ehm, can`t say I expected this. Thank you.” He watched as she placed the plate down on the table and kindly moved over to look at it.
He had intended to take a nap earlier, but getting something to eat was just what he needed. For hours he had worked on the watchtower while the others had slept, having awoken early that morning. His nights had been restless, and there wasn`t much sleep to gain these days anyway. To June he probably looked just as tired as he was exhausted, but he didn`t care. James took a bite of the cheese and enjoyed it, the taste felt so good! Once he swallowed the piece he turned his attention back to her, looking oddly happy, not knowing what else to say.
June didn't know the whole situation with James. They barely spoke. All she knew was that things became hectic after settling down at Remy's apartment, and didn't really stop until after they managed to get Anthony out of Acer's mansion. A feat she was still amazed by. Despite the odds not being in their favor they found a way to overcome. By the sounds of it they were in a similar situation back in Oklahoma. Having very little chance of coming out alive, and being able to scrape by for one reason or another. These people might have had good luck playing the lottery back when there was money to distribute.
“Don't mention it.”
