Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
- Katerina Amelia Brokovich was born in Moscow, Russia as she was the second oldest child and the only girl within her large family of boys. The Brokovich family were known to work for other wealthier, richer families because of their credentials of assassinations, ransom, dealings, and even taking part in the Russian military. The Brokovich were a Patriarchy and they only really had one leader of the entire organization and that would have been the eldest male. Katerina’s grandfather, at the time, was the known leader of their family business and her father, Erik Brokovich, would have been next in line. Within the family business, it was important to have at least a few boys in your family, girls were rarely cared for or made an important deal. The boys were raised like kings but were treated like men at a very young age, Katerina, being the only girl with three older brothers had a rough life growing up.
To make it within her family, she would have be as tough as the boys as they would even try to use Katerina as a punching bag or target practice. The only real person who cared about her was her mother, Anastasia Brokovich, she was the light of her life and Katerina loved her mother very and will do anything or everything for her. Katerina’s mother was the only one who could stop her brothers from pestering her, pulling at her hair or even trying to spar with her. Not saying Katerina didn’t want to fight her brothers, because she really did, just to show them that she was no push over and Katerina has never been the one to be labeled a push over.
Katerina established a very deep connection with her mother and would be around her everyday almost as if she was her secret service or guard, Katerina was very protective of her mother and she would almost lose her tongue when she was around their family meetings and men from other families would disrespect her, not saying her father wouldn’t defend his wife, but he would be too slow to catch such words. Anastasia, Katerina’s mother, would handle every situation with grace but with subtle malice, she was dressed like a rose but was armed with thorns. Maria taught her daughter how to play the games boys played, be the boss but be the innocent woman too that will confuse men and generally they will think twice to mess with you. Katerina learned a lot from her mother and things got better when her grandfather died and her father took position of being the Family leader.
At that time, she was at least almost twenty, now, Katerina didn’t live a normal life like other girls her age, but her brothers were able to have the time of their lives. She never had a boyfriend or even fell in love, rarely went out with friends if she had any, Katerina doesn’t trust easy and for you to be labeled as a friend would take a lot for her. Really, Katerina’s closes friends are the ones she has to put up a fake smile with and act as if she was being entertained. Erik, Katerina’s father, being the leader of the family business opened a lot of doors for Katerina and her brothers as her three brothers were able to learn to be assassins and were able to do anything that was available within the family business, whether it was contract killing or trading, anything. Although, Katerina was given jobs that required her to smile and shake hands at her father’s side or meet fellow suitors so that she could bare him a grandson.
Katerina’s father pushed for her to find a man in her life so she may bore him a grandson and with every time, she would say no, politely, or change the subject. Katerina wasn’t even interested in finding someone to call ‘hers’ or even be married, she was too interpersonal for her to even care for anyone else other than herself. Now, it didn’t take long for her to notice the sexism within the family business, how they portrayed and treated women was just wrong in all definitions. Katerina believed she could be as good as the boys when it comes to killing or trading off goods, why did she have to be the wallpaper and her brothers were the designs, she knew she was capable of so much more, but she was never given the chance. That is why she pestered her father into allowing her more privileges within the organization, to allow her to be an assassin at least.
On all accounts, she was denied, until she compromised with him, she would find a man to marry, if he would let her become an assassin. Erik didn’t even hesitate to say yes to her proposal, allowing her to train in their ranks to become an assassin. Now, the process of becoming an assassin was hard and gruesome and all the instructors were of course male and she was the only female, the first female assassin within their family business, so of course she highly known. The instructors weren’t giving the woman a break, they would intentionally pair her off with someone twice her small size or even stronger, but to their surprise, the little woman was determined and never back down from a fight especially when she was getting her butt handed to her. Katerina was determined and in every fight she fought in, she fought with bravery and power. She didn’t win all of them, but for those she did win, she won because she fought for it and proved to the men she was someone you didn’t want to mess with.
Awhile after, she was ranked number one, the first woman to receive a number one rank as an assassin. Her first mission was a success as she was directed to kill a man threatening to end an important client to the Brokovich family. For a few years she trained and fought as an assassin, soon she figured she would have to find a man to marry and a son to bare, so she could avoid all of that, she pulled some strings to have her listed as one of the Russian Operatives. Basically, she was a paid agent under the Russian government, at this point the president of the Russian government already signed for her approval into their force and by then her father couldn’t say much.
Upon being signed up, Katerina was trained in the military force for a few years before being deployed as an actually agent as it takes discipline and fortitude to be apart of the Russian government. Katerina received her orders to be an undercover agent and investigate the CDC in Atlanta, GA, find out what they are hiding and report back her findings.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
- On the day of the outbreak, Katerina was already up and running in America as she has her mission and her orders to investigate the CDC for its secrets and motives that has put the Russian government on edge for a few years now. She was inside the CDC facility when an explosion occurred, causing the entire building to go on lock down as everyone was left inside the building. Katerina was confused on what happened because no one would tell her but she caught wind of an explosion in the lab where they keep their deadliest and untested diseases. She wasn't in a room by herself as she was with other scientist and they have been waiting in the lab for a good hour before Katerina forced the door open to see the hallway lights flickering and people dead on the floor. Everyone was confused and didn't know what was really going until Katerina saw someone down the hallway, slowly walking their way to her and the scientist with its arms stretched and the sound of moans bellowed out. When the person came into view, she saw they were not human, at least it didn't act human, quickly she shot a few rounds to kill it. That was the first day of the Outbreak.
Katerina escaped the laboratories, but the scientists with her did not as she saw them being eaten alive or too injured to continue. Katerina didn't know what the hell on what was going on but she knew it had something to do with the laboratory or at least she had a feeling, therefore she was going to be on the first flight back to Russia. Upon coming outside, it looked as if it was a war zone, tanks and army men were outside fighting the undead, but it seemed to be more undead then there army men. Now, she wasn't worried about getting back home, she was more focused on staying alive.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
- After everything went down, Katerina was forced out of Atlanta to keep away from the massive hordes of the undead, but everywhere she went she would find more walkers. Now, she is alone and would pretty much like to keep it that way because upon her travels during the outbreak, people became crazed and started doing things that were even more inhuman than the walkers. Katerina had to kill more than she wanted, but again it was all for her survival. Right now she is somewhere in Georgia trying to make it, if you try and hold her back she won't hesitate in expending you as long as you prove her to be a threat.
