Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
Matthew was born in a warm normal family, not rich or poor. His parents loved and he had everything he wanted, well maybe not everything, cause Matt was always thought he had to work for the things he wanted. That would come in handy when he was all grown up, as a kid it meant doing something good before getting a reward. When he turned 8 his sister was born, nothing changed for little Matt, the attention was evenly divided. His whole life was pretty normal, he had good grades on school, some bad ones too here and there. When it was time to pick what he wanted to study/become he couldn’t decide. So he picked a combo course, sort of preview of both. Which lead to him picking the waiter part eventually. After graduating with top honor, it didn’t take long to find a job. Actually a very good job, in a classy restaurant. His parents where very proud of him and his sister, since she was on her way to become a doctor. He worked hard and earned enough money to eventually move out and get his own place. Matt his parents didn’t like the idea of their boy moving out, but they did understand that he was too old to still live at home. Matt had a lot of friends, who also had their own place, Matt wanted that too. So at the age of 26 Matt got his own place. He always loved playing games on various consoles, that was what he did in his spare time. One day he took it just a little further, he decided to get trained in melee combat. And old friend of the family, Rob, was up for the job. He didn’t had a lot of spare time, but the time he, was used to train. Matt learned fast, but it didn’t yet gave him the satisfaction he wanted, he told Rob he wanted to learn the skills like in the games, which was a bit unrealistic. He also told Rob about the wrist knife thingy. Even though it was unrealistic, Rob told Matt he would study the game and try his best, the only thing Matt had to do was search for a replica of the weapon. After searching online for a bit, he found someone that wanted to make it with actual knives, it was very expensive, but Matt didn’t doubt and agreed. A month later he received his special made weapon, in the meantime Rob studied the fighting in the game and was ready to train Matt. First with just a wristband, some weeks later on training dummies with the actual weapons. Couple years later when Matt turned 27 he mastered all of the trainings Rob had to offer. That was the good news, the bad news was that Rob was ill. Couple months later he died, it was very hard for Matt. But he also remembered what Rob taught him about letting people go.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
Couple months after Rob died, Matt his friends decided to go on an adventure weekend. They did that a couple times already and it was always fun. Matt, shared his fighting skills, while some other friends shared their, survival skills or hunting skills. Matt turned out to be a great survivor, hunting was still a bit hard though. Anyways Matt was happy with yet another weekend, it would cheer him up and he could show his new weapons and his moves. They drove to the place with 2 cars, one of Matt his friends was driving up front and Matt followed behind. But his friend got in a car accident, someone just walked in the middle of the road. The first car slipped and smacked against a tree. Matt was able to break and avoid yet another crash. One of his friends checked the body the first car hit, while Matt and the others helped their friends out of the other car. Some of them where in bad shape and needed medical help. Matt tried 911 it was overloaded. What the hell was going on? Matt kept trying until he heard a scream from the girl that checked the body that was hit by the first car. Everyone rushed to her aid only to see the person biting in her neck. Matt couldn’t believe his eyes. He was more shocked when the boyfriend of the girl grabbed his gun and shot the biter, lucky for him the bullet hit the brain. The guy always carried a handgun with him when they went on an adventure trip, cause you never know who or what you run into. But it was the first time he saw his use it. Matt and his friends where all good people, where did this drama came from? Part of their group was wounded and needed help, a girl was bitten, they shot someone. Matt slowly started to panic. It only got worse when they girl that was bitten died a painful slowly dead. Her boyfriend was devastated fell on his knees and hugged her. Matt had no clue what to do, so he kept calling 911. Not moments later the boyfriend screamed out in pain. The dead girl was back alive and bit him!!
Matt lost it, he was how the guy his gun flew in front of his feet. He picked it up and shot the girl. Then he told the boy he was getting help, grabbed his car and returned to the city, still caring the gun with him, while feeling bad for leaving all his hurt friends. He cried nearly the whole way home. When he entered the city it only got worse, panic, dead, fire, everything was wrong. He stopped the car, turned it around and drove to the house of his parents and sister. He arrived but it was empty, no one to be found, no dead bodies either. Then he went to the hospital, his friends were still out there, but it was overrun with people with wounds and other stuff. Matt returned home, he had no clue on what to do and was worried for his parents, sister and friends. So he packed some clothes, strapped on his wrist weapons for safety and drove out of the city. First heading back to his friends, only to find them walking around, but not in a normal way. Matt drove passed them, feeling the guilt of leaving them.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
After losing nearly everything, he got into a group, where he learned people turned into zombies, which had to be killed by damaging the brain. But then the camp was overrun by those things, he was only able to take his backpack with clothes, gun and of course his wrist weapons since it was strapped on his wrist. But he had to leave his car. Now he still travels alone, searching for his parents and sister, while taking every supplies he finds on the way. For now he has some bottled water, dried meat, cereal bars and medical supplies.
