Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse: Mary grew up in the same neighborhood as her friends and knew them all since infancy. The bond forged through childhood managed to maintain their friendship despite having very different ideologies than the rest of her friends. Due to the fact she was the only conservative religious person among liberal atheists, and a couple of members of the LGBT community, made her other Christian friends wonder how she could be friends with them. Mary never questioned her friendship, though often tried to get them to come to church with her. Mary was always getting into fights with Lily because of these ideology differences.
When Mary was old enough she began training as a missionary and traveled all across the world to different countries to volunteer and preach the gospels to the locals in each city she visited. She alienated more people than she saved, but was preferred over the other missionaries who were more pushy with their message. Evidently, her friendship with Tori and co. taught her when someone clearly wasn't interested in what you had to teach.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?: Mary had returned home and reunited with the rest of her friends when the outbreak occurred. She joined the others at Tori's house where the group watched the updates on the news until the signal went dead. The group decided to stay in Tori's house, taking the food they had in the other houses and bringing it all together under one roof. There, they waited to see if anyone else would turn up. The only ones who would were zombies.
No one knew how much time passed since news of the outbreak occurred. Mary spent many hours not on watch praying and continuing her feud with Lily as they started to scout the area little by little for survivors and supplies. They were nicely settled in the area they called home for many years until the walkers' numbers became too great and forced them out of Tori's house.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse: After being ejected by walkers, the group took to the streets. Traveling all across the state finding one shelter after the next, and making it work for as long as possible until more undead chased them away. That was becoming a reoccurring theme none of them cared to repeat. There were very little in means of living people in the state, and the group was beginning to lose hope of ever finding their families.
They eventually crossed states-line into Oklahoma and continued their travels. Now looking for anything, and anywhere they could call home for good. That was when the walkers came again, and this time caused the group to separate. Tori was gone, Shinta was gone, everyone she knew was gone. Mary looked for them as long as possible, but wasn't able to find them. All she could do was pray while traveling down the road with nothing but the clothes on her back, the lead pipe in her hand, and her belief in God.
