Age:
-20, she guesses
Gender:
-Female
Appearance:
-Her hair is always in a French Braid except for the moments that she does have time to wash it. She hasn’t cut it the entire time since the start of the apocalypse, finding that to be a waste. Her arms are covered with scrapes, old and new, from when she clears out brush to find food or weapons, and her hands have grown a tad rough over the years.
Occupation (studies and job before the outbreak):
-Eliana was currently at a college in Orlando, studying to be a paralegal. She had a scholarship to go to the school if she joined the soccer team, which she did as she absolutely loves the sport. As this had been her freshman year and school wasn’t too difficult, she held a part-time job at a local coffee shop to keep busy and to help her pay for what she needed as she preferred to not use her parents money or to not let it be known that she even came from some money.
Hometown (city, state, country):
-Chicago, IL, USA
Relationships (relatives, friends,...):
-Ryder, best friend and…well, her only friend anymore
-All of her relatives died, to her knowledge
Weapons (currently in possession):
-Machete
-Sharpening tool
-Hammer, that she keeps in her backpack
Items (clothing, backpacks, first-aid kits, etc...):
-Knapsack on her waist that contains two pairs of tweezers, a lighter, a whistle
-She’s sporting yoga pants that she just found recently, a short-sleeved navy blue shirt that has dirt stains and tears, a watch that is broken on her left wrist, Nike sneakers that are starting to have the soles ruined
-Her school backpack contains a zipper-up jacket, a light, long sleeve shirt, an extra pair of pants, a few razors, an empty water bottle, a comb, a half pack of floss, a stock up of tampons that she has been collecting, a rope, and a rolled up sleeping bag that is tied tightly to the bottom of her bag
Mode of transportation:
-On foot
List 3 or more good personality traits:
-Logical, she can think through many situations to determine which would be the most efficient, or the best, action to take
-Arrogant, as she is unwilling to see a scenario in which she doesn’t survive, which she attributes to her actual survival
-Loyal, to anyone who gains her trust. She will defend and fight to protect them until her own death.
List 3 or more bad personality traits:
-Stubborn to a core; hates to be proven wrong.
-Intolerant of others; does not accept their weaknesses or their flaws and will decide what type of person they are based on that
-Opinionated, and makes sure everyone knows her opinion. If she thinks an idea is stupid, she has no problem outright declaring that it is the most idiotic thing that she’s heard.
-Doesn’t play well with others unless forced. She’s perfectly content letting them think that she’s not all that useful to the group as she’d rather think of a way to do this on her own than accept the help from people who have shotty morals. She does this more to see just what type of people they are staying with so she can determine just how long they ought to stay.
List 3 strengths:
-Excellent hand-eye coordination from her years of playing sports
-Can go a long time without food without feeling fatigued, or giving into her fatigue
-Nimble; able to carefully tread through the woods undetected, stepping where she needs to so as to not disturb the scene
List 3 flaws:
-She isn’t all that ambidextrous so when it comes to close fighting, her left side really does her no good if her right side is caught up
-She can be a heavy sleeper
-Useless when it comes to determining what she can or cannot eat from nature; horrific cook
Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
-Before the Apocalypse, Eliana was a college student in Orlando. She was originally from Chicago, where she grew up, but she had received a scholarship to a school in Orlando and wanted to travel there. Her father was constantly away on international business trips and her mother was a specialized doctor, both being too busy to really be home too much. Most of Eliana’s days were spent with her four older brothers, which is why she was heavily into sports. Soccer was her favorite, though her close second was softball and volleyball. Every summer, her parents would take the kids camping for two weeks as a way to make up for the time that they were away, and every winter, they went away for two weeks to go skiing. Of course, often, one or the other parent ended up leaving early or not attending for something in work coming up. Despite the slight strain in the relationship, Eliana loved her parents and knew that they were just really into their work, though she was slightly bitter that work took up so much of their time. Her parents just really liked to help out others, so she had been brought up to believe. The year before the Apocalypse, and right before her first year of college, she lost her brothers in a freak cruise accident that they went on for a friend’s bachelor party over in the Pacific. She had contemplated not going to Orlando for school, but ended up deciding to go because she wanted to get away from the memories in Chicago. Eliana focused on maintaining her scholarship through her soccer playing and studies, though the only person she really grew to know was Ryder. Beyond that, she stayed mostly to herself, finding no real reason in trying to develop relationships with many others.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
-On Outbreak Day, Eliana was studying with Ryder for one of her exams, though she isn’t all that certain which exam that was at this point as far more important things came up than trying to pass a test. She remembers his roommate running in, and then seeing something that she really didn’t believe with her own eyes. She ended up hiding with Ryder through the night, trying to let the campus pass through with…whatever it was that she saw pass through. Hearing the screams and the groans in the hallways outside of their hiding spot was horrific to hear, keeping her up nearly all night, eyes widened in horror.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
-She’s slowly on the run with Ryder, stopping at a few camps that were willing to let them stay for a bit. She’s not exactly sure where they are going, but she knows that they’ve been receiving signs for Ryder from his uncle. Eliana isn’t sure how she feels about that, mainly because she doesn’t trust anyone, especially not after this. They’ve run into their fair share of trouble and she partly wonders if his uncle is still the same uncle he was before the ‘Apocalypse’. Eliana still refuses to consider this the Apocalypse and she thinks that they really ought to be looking for a way to reverse this disease that was airborne. Eliana believes that this isn’t the end ad that there is a cure for most anything as long as people persistently seek it out. Although she is content going to find Ryder’s uncle first, deciding that she would trust Ryder’s opinion on the matter, she feels that they shouldn’t stop unless they are with a group that is actively seeking out a solution as every problem has a solution. She’s learning a lot about how to survive with the bare necessities, though she also wants to actually enjoy the life that they have now, regardless of their surroundings. Although she knows it’s a bit heartless, she has no desire to find her parents just yet, or ever. It isn’t that she hates her parents, but she is being practical in her head and knowing that they would want her to pursue the angle of trying to find out who was attempting to find a cure, and if no one, to try to persuade people that that was what they needed to do.
