Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
Heather moved to the U.S. to go to college at LSU, medical school. She graduated after 5 years, with honors and took up practicing and studying hemotology. She worked an internship at a local oncology group and eventually landed a full time job back in London working in a lab. The group was recently awarded a grant to start blood trials to fight cancer with a few new drugs and techniques, but things went downhill quickly before any of the research could be done. She lived alone in a small flat just outside the Kensington with two cats. She had no boyfriend, but had a few close friends she spoke with. She did not go out much, but when she did, she enjoyed a local pub called the Rose and Quartz.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
-
She was working in the office and was one of the last people to stay. Everyone was taking their families and getting to safety, but she persisted, almost to the point where it became too late. Her father, urging her to run, came to get her before the grid went down. He died, right in front of her, trying to save her from a group of walkers that tried to get them leaving the office. All her work remained there, but she hadn't gone back since. The death of her father was far too traumatic.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
-It's a lonely existence of gathering food, water and daily necessities to stay alive. She only ventures out when she has to and nights are spent restless and usually awake, afraid walkers are going to break down the doors and get her. The first six months were terrifying as hordes moved through the streets, but as the groups of walkers thinned out, her paranoia waned..until the living came back out again. She recently found a roving group that helps people in need against the 'ghosts' as she calls them and has left London, permanently she fears. Her medical knowledge comes in handy when it comes to keeping herself useful.
