Diana (Mother)
Unnamed Hamster (Pet)
Lee Everett (Former Guardian)
Ethnicity: African-American
Character: Having been left alone for some time with her babysitter and experiencing the most gruesome events that could occur in a zombie apocalypse, Clementine has adapted rather quickly towards her surroundings. Clementine is a girl of substance, letting her actions speak louder than her words. She can be brave, but still is a young girl at heart. She is shown to be deeply frightened by many of the events happening and can break down when a situation is too overwhelming for her to sustain. For only being nine years old, Clementine displays remarkable intelligence and maturity, presumably due to the seriousness of the environment. She is able to be practical and improvise in situations such as helping Lee brace the door with his father's cane when the walkers close in on the drug store. She also picks up on subtle things most children her age would not be bothered by. When Ben was interrogated by Lilly, she quickly dragged him away from the argument before he could get pulled in, saving the boy any trouble.
Compared to Duck's more oblivious attitude, Clementine was much more aware of the current events going on in the group, such as the power struggle between Lilly and Kenny. At one point Clementine revealed to Lee that she was aware that her parents are "gone," stating that she'd rather have him lie to her because it is more comforting to hear. She is also a very kind-hearted and polite girl, as she displays adequate manners when talking to the adults. Clementine isn't a conformist and is not afraid to speak out on her mind, believing that everyone should do their best to be a kind Samaritan unless threatened otherwise. Evidently, she disagrees with the group's choice of taking away a truckload of rations left behind by survivors, claiming that the owners may return for their supplies. However, despite her maturity, Clementine is still relatively naïve in the way children. Her view towards how society should react in a zombie apocalypse is often more idealistic than realistic, which can affect her understanding towards a particular event.
Life Before Apocalypse: Clementine comes from a loving family with her mother and father. She used to own a pet hamster before the outbreak occurred. One night, it managed to open its cage door. The next morning she and her family had found it, but discovered that the hamster had eaten half a box of cookies. She was in the first grade, which she considered to be easy. She's smart and can hold her own if necessary - known to spend hours building elaborate make-believe tales in her tree house rather than watch cartoons or play with dolls. Sometime before the outbreak, her parents left for a trip to Savannah and left Clementine with a babysitter named Sandra.
