List 3 strengths:
- Great Physical Strength: Given his physical size and the years he spent working hard on the farm, Noah has developed quite the physical build. Although he also frequented the gym as a side hobby of sorts, it was simply a bonus. Easily able to lift and carry weight that most couldn't even budge, his strength has always been a blessing and an asset in most of his endeavors.
- Sharpshooter: As a natural hobbies of his parents, and their parents before that, Noah took on shooting and firearms from an early age. Starting out with .22lr rifles to bigger rifles, shotguns, and handguns, he was always well verse with the operation, disassemble and maintenance of firearms. Easily able to hit most stationary targets regardless of size and shooting angles, he's also able to hit moving targets with great degree of efficiency.
- Devoted Guardian: From a very early age, Noah's father instilled in him the fact that he was a man. It had nothing to do with sexuality or orientation of the latter however. It had more to do with the way he carried himself. He was to protect the younger, the older, his family, and those precious to him. A lesson he learned and etched into him as a child, Noah always finds himself at his strongest when he's defending someone else.
List 3 flaws:
- Anger: Although he tries his best to control it through a myriad of methods, more often than not, anger gets the best of him. Its not a pretty sight but then again its not too difficult to get around his mental defenses and make him lose his cool and partial control of the situation.
- Grudges: Although a very trusting and loving individual, Noah does not take well to treason and injustice. Once he has been betrayed or disappointed, it is extremely difficult, and perhaps even impossible to regain what was lost. He's a type that will hold a grudge for a long time unless a significant event or feat show him the person is not what he saw them once to be.
- Jealousy: Although he's fairly good looking and a great person with no need or place for insecurities, Noah still happens to look down on himself although secretly, to himself, and from afar. For one reason or another, not only is he highly protective of his friends and the people he love, but he may at times feel threaten by both the potential chance of harm to his loved ones or that someone might take them from him in a more psychological way.
Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
- Noah was a gentleman. Those were likely the first words someone would use when describing him. He was tough as nails, sturdy like a 1950s Chevy, as reliable as a Toyota, and as soft and loving as one of those stuffed bears on the Sunday Matinees for kids.
Raised in his family farm, he was hard at work before he even had time to play. In fact, the way it went was that he was to help his father and the uncles work on the farms and get food. And, once that was done, if he did it well and quickly enough, whatever time he had for himself before bed time could be used for playing if he so wished. In any case, although his parents were strict with him, they were loving nonetheless. They were harsh but merciful. His father instilled in him the analogy of the sheep, the wolf, and the sheepdog, with him wanting Noah, like him, to grow up to be a sheepdog. In essence, he wanted to him to be a man that stood up for truth, justice, and righteousness. He remembered his father speaking to him about right and wrong. That no matter if the government and the people one day decided that something wrong was something right, he wanted Noah to grow up to be a man of his word that stood up for what he believed in no matter the odds and the consequences. He wanted him to be a man of strength and courage that would stand firm when the world told him to move so that he could respond with determination and conviction, "No, you move."
Although not the most Christian of his town, he still went to Church every Sunday. Both because Lord forbid what would happen to him once his father found he missed a day, and also because his friends also attended and it was a chance to socialize. As he grew up, he discovered he didn't quite believe or agree with everything he was taught at Church, but he still picked and chose somethings that sat well with him, and even made carrying a Bible as often as he carried his handgun a lifelong habit.
During high school Noah unfortunately got into a lot of fights. He was no troublemaker however. He was also never picked on because of his strength, his size, and the fact that his noble and righteous personality meant no one had a reason to want to pick a fight with him to begin with anyways. Instead, it was him he went out for the fights but a particularly different reason. He was a sheepdog. Wherever there was a girl being harassed by her boyfriend or anyone else. Wherever there was a guy that was being picked on for anything, be it sexuality, religion, or something else entirely, he'd be there. Even as a teenager, he had the mind of an adult. It was just one of the many reasons why his parents as well as other adults including his teachers always referred to him as a real man. He knew he wasn't perfect. Still, no one was. And he'd be dammed if he would let anyone let their rage out on others because they couldn't quite come to terms with themselves, their purpose, and their calling.
Although he did have a few girlfriends here and there, none of his relationships lasted very long, with possibly the longest lasting only a year. He simply didn't feel it. Although he certainly liked the people he went out with, his parents had instilled a very specific mentality in him. While most of his friends in high school would bring one girl home, then a different girl to church, and a completely different girl home the following week, Noah wasn't like that. In his mind, if he ever brought a lady home or to church, he would be dam sure it was the right one. Alas, back then, that time never came.
Noah would finish high school with pretty good grades. It was certainly enough to get him an education at a public state university but although he certainly wished for it, he knew he couldn't. Despite their attempts to fake otherwise, his parents were getting quite old, weak, and ill. They could barely do their own tasks on their own, let alone take care of the farm. And he knew quite well the farm meant a great deal to them as it was a memento passed on from generation to generation. Likewise, When Noah turned 18, his father would gift him something he'd never lose: a 1911. With his own money he had bought his own tools like his knife and his Harley motorcycle. But, the 1911, it was different. It was his father's way of letting him know he had become a righteous man ever since he was a child. The gun, in a way, represented the tool his father entrusted him with to continue on being a righteous man wherever he went. Little did he know, that the tool would come in handy quite a lot in the following years.
And so, Noah would work on the farm for almost a decade. During that time he would see happy and sad moments, including the passing away of his parents. With the responsibility of the farm and the rest of his family on his shoulders, Noah, the guardian, the protector, continued to work and to live so that others could too.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
- On a rather regular day, Noah had gotten up early to work on the farm. The truck that brought the farming supplies had been late for a good couple days, and that was odd to him. They were never late.
On a quick trip to town, he'd find quite the odd scene. Rather than working as he usually saw the citizens, everyone was hurdled up around a radio listening to the broadcast. It looked as though there was panic on suburban cities. The radio said things of shooting, looting, and multiple assassinations from unknown means. It was pandemonium. People were running to buy supplies, guns, ammunition, and other necessities. Noah still didn't quite understand what was happening, but he knew he had to make haste for himself and those that depended on him. Unfortunately, little did he know that it was late already, for most of them.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
-Noah had lost quite a lot. His family, his farm, even most of his belongings. He could count in one hand, or two the things precious to him he still had within reach. Fortunately however, he felt like everything he treasured and had been stripped from him wasn't really gone. Either looking down from above, or nestled in his mind and his heart, he had the love and remembrance of everything and everyone he once held dear.
The time out and about with zombies in the prowl would toughen him more, but Noah had been tough all along to begin with. Instead, he had to be courageous and tough for everyone else. With the rise of the dead, a lot of the living started doing unspeakable things. Rape, killing, and other things he preferred not to think about. Noah was no saint however. He had to kill both the dead and the living in many occasions but every action had a purpose. He killed to protect himself and others. He was a guardian. A man. A sheepdog, and he would let no harm come to those he loved or himself.
