Lachland had voiced his concerns--why not attack now? They were disorganized, bickering, it seemed. But they could quickly recover. They were all armed, still, and could easily overcome the temporary, fleeing disorganization and use their numbers to their advantage. No, the morning would remain optimal. Adolphus was just about to lecture Lachland on his decision when something caught his eye.
Remy, Anthony, and the other man Adolphus had never seen, Luca, were coming straight for them. Anthony was armed with a shotgun, Remy with a baseball bat, and Luca with a revolver. Adolphus' brow furrowed. What plan was this? They were outgunned--Remy didn't even have a firearm. Was this a trick? Adolphus quickly dispelled any paranoia, and turned to his companions before his gaze fell upon Andrei. "Your friends want to meet on neutral ground. Let us meet them."
Adolphus grabbed his rifle and began walking towards the three individuals. He'd gun them all down, he'd extract his revenge. A journey across the country, months of planning and following--it all led up to this.

The night before, when Remy attempted to go across the street, she was pulled back. She was going to take care of this on her own, which was her way. Once again, she had to be persuaded not to take this all on, on her own. They were a persistent group, if anything. She kept to her word though as she kept watch with Grant so the others could get some sleep. She wasn't tired anyways. Her only focus was getting across the road and getting all this over with.
The sun had barely cracked across the horizon when she noticed Grant had fallen asleep. Just a few quiet moments so he could get some rest and she promised to keep her eyes open for trouble even though she was the one that was going and looking for it.
She had no idea Luca and Anthony were already awake when they hastily caught up to her as she walked. She hissed back to the both of them as she turned her head. "Go back. Get everyone together and get out. It this is Adolphus, he wants me, not you. I told you that."
She knew they would protest. Luca loved the fight. He needed it. She knew by his anger that he needed that release of a fire fight. Anthony was doing his best to be bold and she wondered if he was trying to prove something to himself by grabbing that shotgun and being one of the first to come with. Her eyes were forward towards the figure that was coming to them as Luca whistled back for the other shooters to join them. It was in her mind that she would not let the group be ambushed. It was time for her to stop running and face this music that was about to blare loudly.
She called out loudly to the man who she could tell had a long rifle in his hand. Her bat was no match for bullets and she knew it. But still, it was a crutch that made her feel more bold.
"Why are you watching us? Why are you following us?"
Post by Dallas Hatcher on Jul 7, 2015 9:48:09 GMT -5
So the blonde with the bat had decided to simply charge the group that everyone seemed to think was after them. That might not have been the smartest idea, considering she had gone off on her own. She was either very brave, or very stupid. Dallas didn't know her, but at this moment, his money was on the latter. "Woman have a death sentence?" He asked aloud a he watched her.
As if that wasn't bad enough, the cop jumped in begin her and shouted out that everyone drop what they were doing and simply follow her to their deaths!? Another fella, a little heavier set joined them, and even Lily set off to follow in suit.
"Have you all lost your fucking minds!?" Dallas called out after them, which seemed to get them all to stop and turn. "An unknown group is watching us from up there and you wanna charge them without know bing how many they have or what their firepower is like? Why don't you just save them the trouble and put a bullet through your fucking heads now." It wasn't always that Dallas was the voice of reason in his group. He had some pretty level headed people there. These people seemed to barley be holding their sanity together, much less anything else.
He let out a sigh, "for fucks sake people, at least send a scouting party to see what we are up against.... Or are you all in such a hurry to throw your lives away?" He threw his arms up in frustration as he allowed his eyes to glance up the hill to where the group had been. They could easily go and scout the area, see what they were up against, but he'd be damned if he took any of these people with him.
Some of what he said must have made sense to them, because the group seemed to die down on their quest to get themselves killed. Once they came back and were willing to wait, Dallas set off to put his scouting team together. "Okay, first things first. I'm going to need some people to go with me. No offense, but I'd like to take some other people with me. I think it'd be best if you all stayed here and guarded the base. If the threat does come after us, we will need a fortified holding. These building aren't going to stop a bullet..." He looked to them all to see that that would be taken care of while he was gone. "Lily, you look horrid. You should get some sleep." She looked as if she hadn't slept in days. And that could prove dangerous if they came under fire. The glance was made towards the other guys, "Who else is in your group?" He would pick his team to head out and see what they were up against. "Also, I don't know if you guys have any ammo to spare, but I'm down to three bullets in my pistol, and the rifle here has been out for days." He gave a chuckle. Despite not having any ammo for the thing, he couldn't bring himself to throw it away. Maybe they had some ammo to share. It would help if they got fought and had to shoot themselves out of a jam.
After the group was gathered they set off. When they had seen al that was to be seen, they would return. And once back, they would devise a plan. With luck, this group had not seen all of the caravan. So they could split into two teams and ambush the group that intended to ambush them. ((Should we wish to play out the spying I would suggest a septet game. Or we can just skip over that to speed up the game. I'm good with either.))

Riker had handed the little squirt to her. She had no clue how to deal with a kid. She had stared at her and heaved a huge sigh of relief when Skyy took her back from her. Sam was not the mother type. She stared as all hell began to break loose. Two more people showed up in their town, and now some group was watching them.
Sam truly didn't want or need to get involved with all this drama. They wanted Remy, give them the dumb bitch and the rest of them should get the hell outta dodge. She glanced around and noticed that everyone was separating. Some moving to follow Remy, others taking to places to hide. Hide hell! THese people were after her for a reason, and wouldn't just stop. Fuck this. She looked at Riker, and then moved towards the Lexus. She wasn't about to loose her shit, and her life for someone elses mistake.
Holly had rode with her "Father", keeping silent. She was a shell of her former shelf right now. She needed to focus, to regroup and get a grip on who she needed to be. Right now, she was scared. Afraid to follow, but unable to lead. This group was violent, and they would turn on her if they got wind of her fear. She stuck close to her father.
Standing and watching, she heard him speak to Andrei and she glanced at him. He was just as bad as she was. He was betraying his own, atleast Holly was only betraying herself. She started to step , to follow her Father down. What choice did she have? If she cut and ran, they would kill her. If she went through with this, the others may kill her. Either decision left her dead.
Riker joined up with Dallas. He liked the moxie on this guy and he also agreed with the fact that it was foolish for Remy to just charge after this unknown group and Luca to once again follow her. When the group ahead stopped, he went up to Remy, grabbed her lightly by the arm and pulled her back.
"You're going to get us all killed, you know that right?"
He looked up and saw the lone man with the rifle standing at the head of a low hill.
"You think he can't just take you out with one shot? You look like the aggressor with that bat in your hand. Think smart."
His dark eyes turned to Luca and Anthony next.
"And you thought what, following was a good idea? To protect her for charging in there like that? No, this guy is right. We need to scout them out first."
Dallas was already working on a plan that could be hatched and honestly, he had no idea if this was the man that had been hunting them or a completely new group. They had no idea what their numbers were, but if everyone was right and they had been watched, then the strange group knew everything about them. He hurried along with his shotgun in one hand and handgun in the other. He had some spare bullets, but not enough to take down an army.
"Skyy, you stay here with the kids."
His eyes moved to Sam who was headed back to her Lexus. He didn't want to leave her behind, but getting them to safety was the best thing.
"Sam, take Skyy, her brother and the baby with you. Head due east. We'll catch up. I promise."
That is, if she even wanted him to catch up with her at all.
Lily looked back at Dallas through bloodshot eyes. She was usually smarter than this, but it would seem the sleep deprivation was finally having its toll on her mind as well as her body. Lily didn't need much convincing to stand down as she just settled back by the counter and leaned against it. Dallas suggested sleep and she only laughed.
“You expect me to get sleep with all this shit going on?”
Lily thought she'd be lucky if she got more than two hours worth of sleep before a firefight broke out, not that it would matter. Lily could sleep through a tornado ripping apart her house, some bullets being shot off wasn't going to bother her unless a stray one hit her. Either that, or she'd never wake up again. Wouldn't matter because then she'd be dead. At least the head shot would keep her from potentially eating the others. Assuming she can even get herself to fall asleep to begin with with all of that on her mind.
Grant saw Remy go across the road. What was she doing? She was going to get herself killed. She threw away any possible plan and agreement. She was going to charge head on, unprepared. What were the others to do? Luca and Anthony blindly followed her, towards who they believed to be Adolphus, where the enemy had the higher ground.
He joined them down at the ground and looked at all the people. One man spoke up, the new guy, but what he said was right. They didn't know what they were up agaisnt, and it would be certain death continuing what they were doing. Dallas had talked some sense into them, which was good, they needed that now more than ever.
When they went back Grant kept his Rifel up. He could use it to keep watch if he had to, and was still close enough to hear what was going on. Dallas was putting a plan together and it would be good to follow it. Grant joined back with the group, he had to get his say in. Once with them he set his three guns down on the nearest surface.
"Dallas is right,"Grant said nodding at the man, "we should have someone scout for them. Remy shouldn't be one of those people. She has already shown she isn't thinking straight right now. He would be best to take Aaron or Sasha, Anthony, and Riker. The others can stay here and guard. We wait for them to bring the fight to us. We can have people on either side, and if Remy wants to questions them she can in the middle of the town. We would be foolish to attack these people head on. After scout gets back we could decide what happens next. Until then Riker is right. Sam you take Skyy and her family into one of the buildings. The diner had a walking freezer you could use. We will need the people, sending them all away may not be the best bet. Keeping them safe though is. If they need to they can still fight, if not then they are safe. Scout, is there anyway that when you finish scouting, and it looks like we can handle them that you lead them towards us. If we set up a trap they won't know what hit them."

Remy couldn't believe what she was hearing from everyone. Luca and Anthony followed her towards the Lion's den for reasons that were known to her, but she didn't want to believe them. Anthony wanted to prove he could fight and she was certain Luca wanted to fight for the sake of fighting. The rest of them didn't know her and they were coming on, full force, to take on something they had no knowledge about. As plans were being laid out by Dallas and Grant, she stood there looking at each of them until she couldn't stand to hear anymore.
"What do you all think you're fighting for? If that group is Adolphus' group, they don't want you. He doesn't give two shits about any of you. He'll run right over you to get to me. Don't you all get it?"
She looked at Anthony with a pleading gaze. Surely he knew. He had to have known this was all about her and nobody else. She was painfully unaware of his past with Adolphus but she knew what his future would be if he kept up.
"Here's what you're going to do. You're going to let me end this right here, right now. You want to save me? Ask yourself why. If you still think you want to save me, then get your rifles ready. Grant, you aim at his head before he puts a bullet in mine."

Damon Morris
Amateur Walker Slayer Who Needs To Dial It Down A Bit
This is my own Private Domicile and I will not be Walker bait... Bitch.

Damon had found a spot in ehich he had cover and all his rifle ammo on hand. He had heard Remys speach but he wanted to be ready. He didnt care who these people wanted. At Bear Lake they nearly killed him as it fell. They made him enter the wild walker infested lands South.
He took out his rifle and took out a pair of binoculars to scope out this new group and see if he could spot the leader or any of the assholes that got him.
"Smile you sons of bitches..." He whispered as he scoped them out trying to identify this group.
Dexter awoke, rubbing his head. It was pounding and he groaned as he sat up. Slowly he stood to his feet and walked over to one of the shelving units in the small store. He aches and could feel his face starting to swell. He could barely see from his one eye, and felt blood that had dried around his nose and mouth. He stretched out and looked the window to wear the group was gathering.
Dexter quickly rushed to his pack and dug through it. He pulled out his foldable shovel. He rushed out the doors and walked up to where they had gathered. Dexter spotted Riker and walked quickly to him. Dexter wound the shovel up and before he anyone could stop him he smacked the biker in the back as hard as he could. He hit him again and then stepped back.
Pulling his gun his belt he held it up and pointed it around. "Back, step fucking back," he yelled, "don't anyone fuck with me again. Piece of shit biker. He got what's coming to him. Don't fuck with me you asshole. Mother fucking, bike riding, asshole, biker."
Sam stopped walking towards the Lexus, and looked at Riker. He knew what she was getting ready to do and he wanted her to take Skyy and the kids with her. She had to smirk, tough guy, yea right. That little face had melted him, she knew it. She looked for Skyy and Brody. She would do that. She could do that. They weren't involved in this shit, and neither was she. He said head east and they would catch up.
The soldier boy spoke up, and he gave her orders too. Who the hell was he, anyway? Who put his ass in charge and why did he think he was able to give her orders? Sam glanced at the Lexus and took a few steps towards it, "Fuck that! I am getting the hell outta here, with her and the kids, like Riker said. We ain't involved in all this." She waved her hand and indicated Remy and Luca, Anthony and the people obviously coming for them. Remy had a death wish, fine. She didn't and wouldn't expect Skyy to want to put her kids in harms way, either.
She hadn't been paying attention to Dexter, and saw him all of a sudden come into view as she turned to Riker for him to give her back up against Grant. She saw Daxter hit Riker and the big man went down. As he swung the second time she started for him, then skidded to a hault as Dexter pulled his gun. Sam froze, then looked for Skyy, "Skyy, come on! Let's go!" She started to back towards the Lexus.
Riker had no idea the punk had woken up. He almost forgot about the kid until the shovel was smacked into his back. The ringing in his ears was loud as the wind was completely knocked out of him. He fell forward and was laying on his stomach while trying to get his bearings back. He had never been hit with a shovel before although he was an expert at digging ditches. The first hit was blunt and the second hit was brutal as his back cracked. Bones had clearly been broken as blood trickled out of his mouth. He barely heard the words Samantha spoke as his eyes rolled into the back of his head from the pain. The kid was holding a gun and telling people to back off. That was the last words he heard before he went catatonic from the blows.
Post by Dallas Hatcher on Jul 9, 2015 23:13:34 GMT -5
The kid came out of nowhere, shovel in hand and fire in his eyes. The hit rang out. A sickining sound that carried across the air. As if that wasn't bad enough, he hit the man a second time. The moment the shovel hit the biker again, Dallas had his pistol drawn and locked on the kid. "Drop it!" He shouted to the kid. Who drew his own pistol and started waiving it around at all the people there. The punk started shouting orders for everyone to back up, and some of them did, but not Dallas.
"I said drop the fucking weapon, now!" The kids face was pretty messed up, Dallas didn't know what had happened, but that didn't matter. Right now some fucking lunatic was going off the reservation.... No way Dallas was going to allow him to keep doing what he was doing. If it came to it, Dallas knew he could kill the kid, but he didn't want to. He didn't want to have to take the life. Even though the biker might now be dead. "You don't let us tend to him, he could die. You really want that on your hands kid?" Dallas didn't know this kid, didn't know the history between him or any of the others. He was the new guy on the block, but as far as he was concerned, he was the only one still keeping it together... Which might not have been a good thing. (One thing's for sure. Lex wouldn't have put up with this, but then Dallas was no Lex.)
If the kid lowered his weapon, fine. Dallas would move in and disarm the kid, then have him locked up or guarded. A loose canon was never good for an operation. If he didn't, which seemed the far more likely senario. Dallas would wait for an opening, close the already small gap to this man and shove the hilt of the fire arm so hard into the brim of the kids nose that it would break. The distraction and sheer pain would allow Dallas to disarm him by force, but would keep everyone safe.
He never had the chance to tell Remy, but she was dead wrong. He didn't know her, didn't personally know the man hunting her, but he knew men like him. He wouldn't stop at just her. He'd come after them all, because that was the type of man he was. They were all in this now, like it or not. Is was sad she was so willing to throw her life away. But without hope, the soul dies... Maybe that's what had happened to her. Maybe she lost her hope. If they lived through these next few moments, he'd have to talk to her, but first they had to survive. And that meant dealing with this kid. Either by talking him down, or bashing his face in. Dallas was hoping for the first, but his training and background left him able to perform the latter. He had done it a hundred times before...

Things had gone from worse to terrible. Dexter came out of his comatose state, having been knocked out by Riker, looking for revenge with a shovel in his hand. When Riker went down, she knew the chaos of their camp could be seen in plain view by whoever had been watching. This was not good for any of them. She watched as Dallas turned, pointing his gun at Dexter who was now pointing his gun at everyone else. She wondered if he was a cop before all this, which would be an interesting mesh. Between him and Luca, there was a reason to feel safe. They knew what the hell they were doing. He also seemed to take the lead in all this and it made her feel more comfortable that she didn't have to be seen as any sort of leader of this motley crew.
But when opportunity knocked, she answered the door and Dexter's distraction was the opportunity for her to slip away. Luca always seemed to have a keen eye on her, even when she slipped away. He always seemed to find her when she tried to get away. He knew her even though he barely knew her. They had gotten close. They shared a bed and shared a night together and that's all she could ask for in this life. Now she needed to face the reality -- Adolphus was at their heels.
She backed away, trying to be inconspicuous as she headed for the rival group at the edge of the forest and when she felt she was far enough away, her feet went from walking to jogging, to a hasty run.
She stopped short of ten feet when she saw the tall man with the rifle, finally ponying up to meeting him face to face. If this was him, this was all going to be over soon. She was the first to speak.
Adolphus couldn't hold back his half-grin. "All this way, all this time I've been following you. And here, now, at the end of it all, you decide to come to me." Adolphus lowered the rifle, almost casually, and approached the young woman. Adolphus towered over most men, and he towered over Remy even more so. "A different look in your eyes, today. The rage is gone. Maybe it that was only due to the recent passing of your friend..." Adolphus forced a snort--he didn't find it funny, but best to have her believe he did. Killing Lilly was necessary, yes, but not comical.
"These burn marks," Adolphus began, rubbing his free hand along the side of his face, "thanks to one of your friends, too...though, I've come to believe he's no longer with us..." A wide grin grew on Adolphus' face. "I've taken a few friends from you, yes...nasty business. Shame it happened. But fear not! I have also brought one of your friends to you!" Adolphus extended his arm in the direction of Andrei. "Not Lilly or Greg, I know, but I'm sure you'd want to see Andrei again, yes?"
Adolphus was uncertain of Andrei's loyalty--he was a loose end, regardless, and Adolphus would have him killed soon, be it before or after Remy. "But we can exchange those pleasantries in a moment. You asked me a question. Why have I been following you? Fair. Florida to Colorado is no easy journey in this world. In truth, for much of my journey to Colorado, I was not pursuing you."
Adolphus exhaled slowly and rubbed the bridge of his nose. Some others were approaching from Remy's group, Anthony among them. They wouldn't fire on him if they saw he and Remy were speaking. For all Luca knew, too, Adolphus could be anyone. Still, Remy was here, and Adolphus had time. "I followed you out of the state, of Florida, for reasons you could expect. Revenge, I suppose. You burnt half my face, put an arrow in my thigh. If that had hit an artery, I'd be dead. I lost track of you, though, along the way. I'd given up hope until I ran into your man, Carter. And he helped me pick up your scent once again. Until that point, I'd given up. But the fact that I found you once again, you and Anthony--the only two remnants of your once-large Miami group, it seemed to me a sign. You had help now, of course. Logan, Luca, that other military man, Lyons. Two are dead, and one will be soon. I suppose it was all fate, luck. Once I picked up your scent, I vowed to eliminate you and yours. You are the remnants of a deceased world, you are not adapting. Your continued existence in this new world is an insult to those who have adapted. Those of us who have transcended the slave mentality of the old world will save this earth, and we must purge it of the weak to do so."
Adolphus turned to Lachland, and his two guards Grey and White. "Speaking of, Lachland! Restrain our friend, Andrei, and bring him to me." Adolphus turned back to Remy and smiled. "He served us well, led us to you, but...he did put in arrow in my leg."

Anthony knew the concerns of everyone were right. Marching up like this was no good. They'd gun them down. As he and Luca turned to address these concerns, Luca spoke before Anthony could get a word out. "I'm a better shot, I'll stay here--gimme a rifle! Someone!"
Luca turned to Anthony and grabbed the man by both shoulders. "Anthony--Anthony...you and me don't have the best past. I...an apology now would sound selfish and hollow, I know, I know. But please--get Remy. Before she gets too close, please. She's...I...please help her. I want to go myself, but I'm more use with a rifle down here, I know it. Go! Please" Luca pushed Anthony towards Remy, who'd still been working her way up the hill.
Anthony didn't need convincing. He turned and sprinted after Remy, in spite of his wounds. Anthony was sprinting as fast as anyone else, his shotgun in hand, but he still wouldn't make it. Remy was quickly approaching the tall man who stood atop the hill. Anthony wouldn't make it in time, but he had to try, he had to help.
As he got closer, Anthony saw Remy and this man, this demon, Adolphus, speaking. He was speaking, explaining why and how he followed her. Why he needed to kill them. Anthony stood about ten feet behind Remy, gripping his shotgun tightly, though he couldn't help but gape when Adolphus mentioned Andrei. He'd been helping them? Anthony's heart sunk, but only for a moment. Now was not the time to mourn Andrei's betrayal. Anthony said nothing as he kept his focus on Adolphus. Adolphus gave Antony a quick glance, but continued with his speech.

It was him. Her heart was racing in her chest as her skin went pale. She knew the voice. The way he spoke. The way he looked down at her. The way he looked down at all of them. This man slaughtered everyone, save for her, Anthony and Ash, who managed to get away. He took the only connection she had left to her past life away. He put them in chaos. He destroyed what little life they had left and send them running again.
She was speechless. He brought up Lily and confirmed what he did to Greg. But what shocked her even more was the fact he had Andrei. Not that he had Andrei, but that Andrei led them here. Her heart sunk and she felt sick to her stomach.
"Andrei...why..." It was all she could muster as she looked past him to see the others he came with go and get him. Why would he betray her like that? She knew they weren't exactly on an even keel anymore, but had it gotten this bad? But then another thought came into her mind. What if he forced Andrei into this position. Capturing him at Bear Lake and forcing him at gunpoint to her. It all came back to her and that weight was getting far too heavy on her shoulders.
Still holding the bat, but not using it, she moved up to Adolphus and pushed with her free hand into his chest as hard as she could. Tears started to stream down her cheeks as all this came to a head right before her. Control was gone and she couldn't stop herself.
"What did you do to him? What did you make Andrei do? Let him go! I swear to fucking God, you're not a man! You're a god damn monster!"
For a brief moment, for a fraction of a second, Adolphus felt something verging on sympathy for the woman. He saw Anthony's eyes widen in shock, but Remy's response was much more explosive. She pushed Adolphus in the chest, which barely caused him to move at all. He looked down at her without saying a word. Indeed, for a brief, fleeting moment, Raymond Ebner wanted to cry with her too. To apologize and weep forever. To mourn the people Adolphus had killed, to mourn his son, Patrick, who was killed the day of the outbreak. Raymond Ebner wanted these things. And if one was looking into his eyes, they would have seen it. Only for the briefest of moments, but it was there. Raymond Ebner was a tortured soul just like the rest of them.
Adolphus quickly regained composure, and his eyes once again glazed over. He stood over Remy as she wept, expressionless. This was why she needed to die. Why they all did, in truth. She was weak, she was human. All too human. "A monster..." he finally began. "Perhaps, to you. Though that is the nature of this world, now. It is a world of monsters. If I am as you say, then I am fit for this world. You are the one who is not."

Had everyone forgotten this fucking lunatic of a kid still had his pistol drawn!? The blond ran off, the big guy was spilling his emotional guys out, and the heavy guy was going to save her!? The fuck was wrong with these peoples train of thought!?
The distraction had come in handy however, as the kid turned to focus on the three loonies. Dallas took the opening and closed the little gap between them. The hilt of his pistol smashed down on the young man's nose. The sickening crunch rang out through the air as blood spilled out into the air. He moved his other hand to grab at the wrist and twist. Removing the pistol from the man's hand. He then kicked the leg out from under him before kicking the shovel out of his hand.
With this threat neutralized he turned to one of the people. Standing around and shouted. "Tie him up." He could be dealt with later. Hi gaze then turned to the other blond fella with the short hair. "You," he said as he pointed to the man. "On me." He then took off for the hill to where the others had just gone off to their fucking death wish. With a small enough party, and element of surprise, maybe they could come out of this alive....
A he made the dash, he checked the clip of the kids gun to see how many bullets he had just gained. He could only pray it was enough. Up the hill he dashed, not so much as slowing down. He crouche low, trying to keep hidden as he pressed further up the hill. He came upon the scene in time to see Remy pressing against the taller man's chest calling him a monster. As took a knee and watched the scene before him. The heavy set guy seemed to be standing there, metaphorical pants around his anckles.
Dallas waited there, hidden in the brush watching. He wasn't goin to make a move till he had a better understanding of what was going on. He could only hope that the other man with the rifle had followed him up the hill. With the biker gone, he was running low on people he felt able to keep it together. He was suddenly wishing for the girls of his old group. He might have been the only man there, and they might have looked to a woman to run things, but they all seemed level headed.
When the opertunity presented itself, he'd open fire on the man before Remy, he was clearly in charge, and Dallas could only hope that without the leader, the others would flee. At least he prayed that's what they would do.
