Dallas asked Grant is he was army. Grant nodded, "yeah Sniper in the Australian military." He assumed the man had guessed he was, but he couldn't be sure. Grant did wear his dog tags, a military vest. He carried a military grade sniper rifle and moved and turned with Percise and training. He looked at Dallas and then turned his attention back to the standoff.
He heard the shot and saw the one doctor who had originally been with Remy and co pull the smaller man around him. He saw the redhead stand up for herself and shoot the one guard who charged at her. They big guards were dead, and it seemed the smaller man wasn't far off.
Dallas moved forward as Grant didn't know what his plan was. The man said move. He had just told him he was a sniper. He remained in a spot, and shot from a distance. At close range his sniper got in the way and was big and clunky. But Grant followed. He had his sniper raised and swept froward. He fired at Guards, ones still in trucks, lackeys.
Grant saw Adolphus take the hit from Remy and Riker take the hit. The biker fell, dead and Grant looked toward Anthony. "Take the shot," he said as he kept firing at any guards.
Dallas was off to the side and Grant would look towards him every now and then. He was talking to the doctor from bear lake, and a redhead he thought he recognized. They had killed the two big guards, and the smalle guy and he could tell tension was high between all of them.
Aron and Sasha had left the convenience store to meet up with the rest of the group and discuss the situation. Despite Dexter being one of his concerns, he'd have to leave him back at the store now, there were much bigger things to be worried about.
Aron listened to the group bickering, people wanted to go off and leave now that things had gotten serious. The one thing they needed now was order, the way the two had gone up and walked up to Adolphus and his men showed how there was none of this.
The next thing he knew, Dexter had come in and started causing trouble again. The boy smacking Riker across the head and then began waving his gun in the air like a maniac. Aron had often supported the kid when he screwed up but this was annoying. He'd thought that the kid would have learned to change his behaviour by now. No, that wasn't the case.
It was good to see the blonde guy step in and take care of Dexter, he wasn't sure how many times he could put up with this. That was now two people unable to help with the fight against the other group. Great. Aron caught the keys and tucked them into his jacket pocket, he was glad to see that Grant trusted him, it might be key in the upcoming fight.
Aron obeyed Grant's order, his second time doing it because of the kid. He picked him up and moved him into one of the side rooms. "Babysitting. Baby bloody sitting." Aron muttered to Dexter's body. He wasn't really disappointed at the type of job given, just the fact that it was Dexter who had forced him to do it with his moronic actions.
A little while later, Aron heard gunfire coming from outside. Now it had begun. Like before, Dexter was an afterthought now, the groups survival was his main concern now. Aron stepped out of the building to feast his eyes on the chaos and join in the fight. Speed was his main advantage now and the fact that most had been to distracted to see him. Aron grabbed his pistol. "Yeah, fuck babysitting!"
It seemed odd to Sasha to think that she was now working with a group and risking her life in the process. She'd avoided groups since the outbreak and didn't feel much apart of the current one. But, they felt different from the rest, they were much more respectable than any of the groups she had been part of this far.
Sasha followed closely behind the rest of the group who had been sent to go and ambush Adolphus and his men. It was best her going rather than Aron, she was a much better shot.
Sasha watched the situation closely, ready to step in when she needed to. She watched as one of the men she recognised from Bear Lake and a girl take out a few of the guards. This could only aid the team.
She remained in the brush, shooting at the guards who she could get a shot at. She watched as Anthony had the opportunity to take down the madman once and for all. It was his job. She kept firing at the guards.

Naturally, once she was down, Holly started struggling to try and break free from his grip, but that only made the pain worse. Normally, he would break the arm he was holding, to send a clear message, but he didn't want to do that to her. Still, she made a valid point. Lachland and one of his goons were going to turn soon.
"Oy, mate. Would you mind popping one into their heads?" Andrei asked Dallas, pointing to the two bodies, as he drew the dagger from his boot, ready to throw it into one of the walkers' heads if they came for him and Holly.
Anthony's eyes widened as Remy announced she was pregnant. With whose baby? It certainly wasn't Anthony's. Andrei? Greg? Luca? Anthony had no way of knowing, not really. Maybe she was tricking Adolphus altogether, and she wasn't pregnant. But his attention quickly returned to the current situation as Adolphus turned to face an oncoming Riker. Anthony hadn't known the man at all, but he cringed as one of the bullets lodged itself into the biker's head, killing him.
As Adolphus was taking the shot, Anthony, shotgun in hand, ran to his right and ducked behind a bush, behind Adolphus. Apparently, in the heat of the moment, Adolphus hadn't noticed that Anthony was gone. He raised his rifle to Remy and was about to pull the trigger when Anthony fired a shot that nicked Adolphus' knee, causing him to drop the rifle and fall to the ground. Anthony sprinted forward and punched stood over the man, punching him repeatedly in the face. Adolphus' face, which was already bleeding from Remy's bat, began to do so more as each of Anthony's punches connected with an unnerving smack. "You...son...of a bitch!" Anthony spat between punches. He'd go until Adolphus was dead. This felt good, this felt right, it had to be done. He'd done it, he'd killed Adolphus.
He was wrong.

Adolphus was cut off as he heard a gunshot, felt a searing pain in his knee, and fell to the ground. Before he could recover, Anthony was on top of him, straddling him, and punching him repeatedly. Adolphus took it for a while, as he was still trying to mentally recover from what had just happened. He'd been shot in the knee--walking would be nearly impossible now. Still, he couldn't lay here and let Anthony kill him--not Anthony.
Adolphus was a large man--he stood six inches above Anthony. In one motion, Adolphus rolled over as Anthony was on top of him, reversing the positions. Adolphus hit much harder. After only two of his punches, Anthony was bleeding profusely. "You!" Adolphus said through gritted teeth. "You...should be apologizing to these people!" Another punch. "I followed you as you wandered the streets of Miami! I followed you to that mansion! You are the reason I am here, and you are the reason these people will die!" With that, Adolphus took his two thumbs and placed them in Anthony's eye sockets and began to apply pressure.
Anthony began shaking and started to scream, a bit more pressure would destroy the man's eyes, which was Adolphus' intent. But he never had the chance. One moment Adolphus was on top of Anthony, the next he was laying next to the man, unable to breathe, with blood pouring from a new gunshot in his side.

Luca had been watching the scene through the scope of the rifle. As others such as Grant and Dallas and Riker charged forward, Luca estimated it would be better for him to stay back and provide any additional support from an unseen position. It was hard to watch Remy up there, facing this man, Adolphus, without him. Luca wanted to charge up, but he had to stay here, in case any more of Adolphus' men came through the brush. Luca couldn't tell what was going on, he couldn't hear from this far away, and he was surprised things were going as they were. Only Riker went down--on their side, at least. This was lucky, things were playing out well. Maybe the group was taken by surprise by having Remy and Anthony march right up.
In an instant, Riker was dead, Anthony was on top of Adolphus, and Adolphus' men were dead. Luca almost put down the rifle and sprinted to the scene, but fortunate suddenly changed. It was now Adolphus who was on top of Anthony, and Luca could see the graphic detail through the scope. If nothing was done for Anthony, he would die, and Adolphus would then lurch on the closest person, Remy.
Luca took aim on Adolphus. He would have aimed for his head, but he couldn't afford to miss. He took a safer shot, at the man's torso, and fired, knocking him off of Anthony. Luca dropped the rifle and reached for his revolver as he ran up the hill. "Remy! Remy!"

In an instant, everything had changed. Anthony couldn't even really explain what had happened, but in one motion, Adolphus had, once again, changed the game. Adolphus now straddled Anthony, and he hit much, much harder. Something told Anthony this was it. This was how it would finally end. He'd evaded death for so long, but this was it. He'd finally die at the hands of Adolphus, which was meant to be the plan the whole time.
Anthony could only half comprehend Adolphus' words as he was on top of him, but it was nothing Anthony didn't know. The guilt had weighed on him from the start. He knew Adolphus followed him to the mansion. He knew it was his fault everyone had died. And now it was his turn.
As Adolphus began to gouge out Anthony's eyes, Anthony shook and screamed, trying to tell himself it would be over soon, but it was easier said than done as he tried to pry the larger man's hands away, to no avail. But then it was over. Adolphus was lying next to Anthony, bleeding profusely from a wound in his side.
Anthony took a moment to recollect his eyesight fully, and then looked at Adolphus. The two men made eye contact for a moment, and then Adolphus got to his feet--with much trouble, and hobbled into the forest. He wouldn't make it far with a bullet in the knee and in the side. Anthony ran after him, though at a hindered pace as well. He didn't forget to grab Adolphus' assault rifle first.
Adolphus could hardly breathe. He was disoriented, and losing blood quickly. There'd been a sniper. This group had truly beaten him. They had won, and Adolphus knew it. He struggled to his feet and retreated into the forest. It was a struggle. Putting any pressure on his left leg was impossible, and breathing was extremely difficult. He'd been shot in the lung, he guessed. He would be dead soon, but he wouldn't die at the hands of that group.
After only about thirty seconds of hobbling, Adolphus began to cough up blood--he began to choke on it. He collapsed to the ground, mustering enough energy to crawl to a log and prop himself up against it, waiting for the inevitable. There were footsteps behind him, and Adolphus knew this was it.
Anthony emerged from a cluster of trees, holding Adolphus' rifle. Raymond Ebner stared at the man that was about to end his life. Anthony approached, standing now only five feet in front of Raymond. Raymond began to chuckle softly to himself as blood continued to pour from his mouth. "I...I was a banker," he finally got out. The world was already growing dark, and Raymond felt himself slipping into unconsciousness. "I was no military...man...just...a banker....with a son...." Raymond Exner's eyes filled with tears as he remembered the day he killed his son, Patrick, to save him from being devoured by walkers.
"Your son's dead?" Anthony looked genuinely concerned. Adolphus nodded. Anthony said nothing for a long time. "I'm sorry...how old was he?"
"Eighteen..." Raymond trailed off. "I had to kill him myself. He was about to get torn to pieces by the corpses. I had to...kill, to reduce pain in the world..." Raymond' voice cracked on the last word. "And now you will do the same to me...and...and that is it. That's the way of it."
Anthony didn't immediately respond. He stood there in front of the man he'd come to hate, the man who'd taken so much. yet it wasn't that man. It was a banker grieving for his deceased son in his own final moments. All of the hatred slipped from Anthony. All the rage was gone. This man was no more--just a man. He was no curse, no bane. He was a man. That's all any living person was anymore. "You've taught us valuable lessons...you have taught us how to survive, though not in the way you expected. What's your name?"
The man Anthony knew as Adolphus grabbed onto the log and forced himself to his feet. He wasn't standing fully erect, he was hunched over and bleeding from his mouth and his side. "My name...is Raymond Ebner."
Anthony nodded. "Raymond...I hope you see your son."
"Thank you."
Anthony raised the rifle to Raymond Ebner's head and took a deep breath. He hesitated for a few seconds, and everything seemed to freeze. Even after all this, killing an unarmed man felt wrong. Killing any man felt wrong. Anthony had never done it.
Raymond Ebner spoke once more after letting out a bloody hack. "I want to see him." Anthony nodded once again, and pulled the trigger.
Adolphus (Raymond Ebner) is dead.

Things were happening so fast. Two bullets shot out from Dallas' gun, taking down two more of Adolphus' men. He was a good shot. She would be wise to keep him around and keep him close. Like Grant, she could use people around her that could aim well. Then another reckless shot from Riker as he stumbled out of his haze and charged towards the scene without even knowing what hornet's nest he was stepping in to. Adolphus saw him as a problem and took care of it. She was horrified when she saw the biker go down and not get back up again. Anthony was hesitating and she knew exactly what would happen.
Having to act quickly now, she dropped the bat as Anthony disappeared and Adolphus had the drop on her. She leaned down to pick up a stray handgun that could have come from any number of places, but the barrel was at her head.
"So this is what you are. A beast who would kill a mother and child."
But he had no time to react. Anthony fired off a shot at him, taking him down to the ground, but not killing him yet. The men started to fight and again, Adolphus dominated. When she watched what he was doing to the screaming Anthony she reared around and yelled at him.
"Get off him! Get off!"
What shocked her was the fact that Adolphus had been following Anthony the entire time. Anthony brought him to her doorstep...this murdering fuck, the man that took her two best friends, shot her and destroyed what she wanted to be her own settlement, was led her to by Anthony. She tried to fire the handgun but it jammed, or it was out of ammo, or some aspect of handgun ownership she was unfamiliar with. She threw it at Adolphus' back but it only bounced off his jacket until another shot rang past. This time, the bullet connected with the torso. She'd thought Dallas or Grant got this shot in since they were in a position to snipe at him. She looked towards the men but was distracted by the sounds of Luca calling out her name and running towards the chaos.
"Get back! Luca, get back! Dallas! Grant! Stop him now!"
While she was trying to stop Luca from coming to her she heard a shot ring out. Adolphus had slithered away and Anthony followed into the treeline. What she saw next was Anthony coming out of the trees, holding the shotgun and looking ten ways defeated. It was over and she knew it. She didn't even have to ask. She just stood there, a spray of blood across her arms, chest and torso not knowing exactly what she was feeling at this very moment. Anyone who would dare to look into her eyes at this moment would see a slew of anger, despair, elation and exhaustion.
She looked at Andrei who had the struggling girl pinned beneath him before moving her eyes to Anthony. Her jaw clenched and she did what she always did best. She walked away. But in her mind, Revelations 13 was repeated over and over again...'And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.'

Dallas had moved in when the plan he was trying to make when to shit. That was the problem with civilians, they flew by the seems of their pants. No real plans, no real execution. They had all gotten lucky.... But that was lie. Not all of them made it out alive. Riker had been shot and killed on the spot. That might have been acceptable odds by the rest of the members of his newly found group, but not by him.
The scene was crazy, people sprinting from here and popping out of there. No one had any sense of direction. It was amazing none of them got shot by one of their own. The scene died almost as quickly as it had started and the group seemed to fall about as they pleased. The heavy fella ran off to take care of the old man. The tall fella was coming up the hill, the blond woman was demanding he and Grant keep the fella away from her. And the fella with the long hair had the woman pinned. What the fuck was wrong with this group? He longed to be back in Kansas City right about now.
He walked over to the man with long hair, ignoring the woman's please to keep the other fella away from her. He wasn't about to get involved between whatever that was. "Hey," he said to Andrei. "Get off her, huh?" She had helped them, as far as he had seen at any rate. She deserved better than to be treated like she was. Still, she had been with the enemy. "Don't mistake my kindness for weakness, miss." He wasn't about to let his guard down, but he wasn't going to treat her like one of the men he had just fought against. Her loyalties were undecided. And like him, she seemed new to the playing field. Didn't seem right to punish her for that.
Once she was on her feet he would make sure she was okay before instructing the long haired fella to keep an eye on her. JUST an eye. Didn't need to go throwing her around again unless she deserved it. He ran a hand through his hair and let out a sigh. Anthony had come back by now, alone and seemingly unharmed. At least there was that. "You okay?" He asked the man. Once the male gave an update on his status he would check with the others. "Everyone okay?"
They were joined by two more people, a male and woman. At first, sense Dallas didn't know who they were, he drew his gun on them. "Drop the weapon!" He shouted at them. And he would hold the weapon on them till they did so or someone vouched for them.
After the vouching, it would be time to head back to the "Camp site" for a very good rest. They all deserved it. The right safety precautions would need to be taken and a watch shift would need to be put into motion, but at least they would all be able to rest.
When Andrei had finally let go of Lachland he collapsed to the ground, flat on his back. Eventually the air gave way and he was left to die. He gasped for air, his life slipping. And like that he was gone. Lachland died, without air, without life. He had tried to reason, he didn't want this. Sure he had talked, but it was all talk and no bite.
Lachland began to reanimate. Him, his one hench man, and a few various guards all turned. They were zombies now, left to munch and hunger. They would stop at nothing to get their kill.
