Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
-For a college washout, Dallas had been doing pretty well. He never had a real engineering degree, but he had learned enough before being kicked out to still make a pretty good living working at a friend's company. He had a nice apartment with a short commute, good salary and position due to his connection with the big man. The day he married his wife was the second best day of his life, the day their daughter was born was the best.
Then it all came crashing down. He lost his job due to a few choice words at work and fell into a sort of downward spiral. He became cynical, broken, violent and angry. His wife and him had more and more arguments, coming close to a divorce. It was only because of their young child that it never happened.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
-He didn't think much of it when his wife came home with a bite wound on her arm. In fact, he had already drunk himself to a stupor and didn't think much of anything at all. It was the next morning that he found out what happened. He locked himself in the bathroom, rethinking his entire life for 3 three days, the dead moans and growls of his family outside the door keeping him awake at night.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
-Dallas escaped after basic survival instincts kicked in. After that, he simply wandered, ran, anywhere but back to where he came from. He wanted to forget, so he just kept on moving from city to city, state to state, meeting others with the same stories as him.
Most would think such an experience would make him more sympathetic to others' plights, instead it only did the opposite. Everyone's got a sob story to tell, his wasn't special, and neither were theirs.
