Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
-His pre-apocoalypse life was rather slow. He went to school and with his parents to church on Sundays. They both seemed very involved with church, but Jonathon just sort of coasted by. The high point of his childhood would be when his dad took him out hunting. He was spectacular, but he managed to hit what he was aiming at on occasion and actually got pretty good at it. When he was old enough he started studying at the University of Denver, majoring in history. That is, until things went to hell.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
-He was in his dorm when the apocalypse started. He heard yelling in the quad and when he went to check he saw his first walker. No one knew how to respond to it, thinking it was a prank. Then it ripped someone's throat out. Panic ensued and Jonathon decided now would be a good time to head home. His house wasn't that far from the campus and he ran through the streets and made it home. He found his parents packing the car. They all piled in and started to try to find their way to safety.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
-The McDowell family did pretty well for themselves for a while. They actually managed to survive a month or so on their own, avoiding walkers and raiders, the men hunting and Jonathon's mother tending to their camp. That is until one night a walker found them, Jonathon's mother didn't make it. Jonathon and his father were stricken with grief and weren't sure what to do when they heard a message over the radio. A group had set up a safe house in Denver calling themselves Second Sun, a religious group from what they were saying. Jonathon's father decided it would be best and Jonathon went with him. It was here that Jonathon and his father stayed, Jonathon's father becoming devout in the group's teaching, Jonathon however continued to just coast by. He didn't feel comfortable with the group, something was off about the whole operation and he just wanted out. One night, while some of the members were away from the convention center, Jonathon saw his opportunity. He knew it was very risky and he might not make it, but he didn't want to stay cooped up with these religious folks any longer. He wrote a note and left it for his dad to find, packed up some things, and made his way off of the compound. From there he headed away from the city. He wasn't quite sure where his end goal was, he just knew he wanted to get away.
