Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
-It was only her 2nd week in her position as Sergeant Of 2nd watch at Naval Base Kitsap and out on patrol when the call came over the radio from Central Dispatch about the discovery of a body at the barracks. Being nearby, she was among 2 other patrol units that responded. Upon arriving on scene, MA2 Williams and MA2 O’Connor had just arrived on scene, and one Patrol Officer was just pulling up.
Upon entering the room, their senses were assaulted by the foul stench of stale urine and feces and it didn’t take long for them to find the body of a young seaman hanging in the closet, his skin a pale and almost bluish color, they called it in and requested NCIS, before Alex began instructing the 2 MAs and the young Officer she’d come to know as Wilkes to begin taping off the room and taking statements from the caller and any witnesses.
Not long Officer Wilkes has begun to tape off the room, a raspy sound began from the corpse. “Oh shit, Sarge! He’s alive!” Wilkes called out as he pulled his knife out and rushed to cut the rope. “What?” Alex called as she walked back into the room just in time to hear Wilkes “The fu-“ before a thud and scuffle as he and the corpse fell to the floor in a struggle, not long before a scream of pain and curse words. Seeing the seaman ontop Of Wilkes and blood gushing as it bit into his neck, She called out for the 2 MAs as she rushed in and grabbed the seaman and yanked him off the young officer, throwing the corpse back into the closet. Almost immediately following that the 2 MA’s came rushing in, just as the corpse started to get up and lunge at Alex.
In a flash she drew her side arm and fired 2 rounds square in center mass, but the seaman still came and was already on top of her. O’Connor leapt right in and pulled the corpse off her and attempted to subdue him, getting His hand bit in the process while Williams shoved the corpse back against the wall before drawing his sidearm and sending 4 rounds center mass with no response. It wasn’t until Alex finally fired the one head shot did the corpse finally drop. Once the threat was stopped, they radioed it in and tended to Officer Wilkes and MA2 O’Connor. Little did any of them know, this was only the start of an unusual and never before seen outbreak that would ultimately result in the collapse of the nation and the world as they knew it.
The following week, with a rise in similar cases and growing unrest, the base would be put into Lockdown and all off duty Navy Master at arms, Auxiliary Security Forces, Civilian Guards and Officers would be called in to arm up and secure the base and it’s fascilities, canceling any and all leave. With the FPCON raised to Delta following the recent unrest in the nearby communities, it wasn’t long before survivors of those communities would seek shelter and protection from the Base and with them the infected who’ve yet to turn.
With the base on lock down and the number of cars and people at its gates growing, the Demeanor of the crowd growing more and more agitated by the denial of access. All it took was one little spark to set off the powder keg that had been building.
Alex has been driving around checking up on the other posts on base when a shot rang off in the distance, soon followed by more rapid fire, then the call came over the radio ”Central! Shots fired! Muliple shots fired! We have Officers down! Sen-” gunfire and screams could be heard in the background before the transmission was cut. Before central could respond, She had flipped the lights and sirens on and begun speeding to the main gate.
The radio was going wild, the line was collapsing, people were breaking through the ranks, and no one knew who was infected. People were dying. On one end you had a struggling line of Base Security Forces trying to keep people out, in the middle a bunch of frightened and panicked Civilians seeking refuge, and behind them a few infected who had turned and begun infecting the crowd, also in the chaos were a mix of local cops and citizens with their own firearms who’d begun shooting the infected. Meanwhile in the confusion the Base Security Forces responded to the gunshots by firing, interpreting that they were being fired upon and in the chaos people on all sides were getting hit. It was absolute chaos.
In the short amount of time it took for Alex to drive from one end of the base to the main gate, the line was broken and people were pouring into the base in a panick. Getting out of her vehicle with weapon drawn, she saw one of her fellow officers overcome and piled on by infected, raising her pistol to shoot, she was interrupted by the watch Captain as he ran up to her vehicle. A radio in one hand and his pistol in the other. “Get in! we’re pulling back!” He barked, getting behind the wheel, as he got into the passenger seat. People were running all over the place, there seemed to be more and more infected. Just as she put the Explorer into reverse, pounding on the back door’s window sounded. It was MA2 Williams and with him was one of the gate Guards. “hurry up get in!” She shouted through the window as she unlocked the doors. They both poured into the backseat. As they made their escape back to the station, it became more and more clear that everything was falling apart as Command and structure began to break and more and more Base personnel began to evacuate or escape, Alex and company, after liberating some boxes of MREs and extra firearms and ammo from the armory back at the station, pulled out to a relatively isolated and secure area on base to hold out until the things died down.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
- During the first 2 weeks after the Base was overrun, Alex and her comrades had been holed up in an old munitions bunker, during their escape on that fateful night, they’d managed to pick up 2 more survivors, one a corpsman, and the other was A young teenage girl who had who had manage make it on base in the chaos. It was cold, dimly lit, and the air was musty.
By the middle of the 2nd week, their food supplies ran out and they were forced to venture out of the bunker to scavenge for supplies. What they were greeted with was silence, there were no sounds of civilization anymore, no jets, no music, it almost seemed as if even nature had been silenced. Danger lurked on the base, as many of the servicemen and women and civilians had succumbed to the infection and joined the army of the ghoulish remnants of what was once people.
After a month of narrowly surviving and relocating around the base, it was inevitable that thoughts of the future and what to do would arise. It was because of this, that any sense of order and rank in the group eventually collapsed when Captain Hoyt, attempted to assert himself upon the teenage survivor. Guard Officer LeCroix sided with Captain Hoyt, along with HM2 Bolton. Only Alex and MA2 Williams opposed Captain Hoyt’s Intentions, and of course the 17 year old Sarah Pratt. Without going into much further detail, Alex, Williams, and Sarah attempted to escape in the middle of the night. A fight ensued, Alex using her training to subdue HM2 Bolton, while Williams and Sarah got away, but Hoyt and LeCroix managed to knock Alex out. As Result she became the focus of their attention, retaliation, and abuse,
After a 4 days, with the anger and fury growing ever stronger in her, Opportunity came knocking when LeCroix was on night watch duty and he came for his turn. She let him get close enough and she was able to talk him into repositioning where her cuffed hands to be more comfortable. When he unlocked it, she slammed her head back into his face and spun around and wrapped her arm around his throat and tightened her grip. Blind with rage every time he slapped at her face and grasped at her arm, only made her tighten. Eventually he stopped kicking and flailing and his body went limp.
She eventually made her way out of the room, to find that Hoyt and Bolton were both fast asleep. She didn’t hesitate and stealthily went right for Hoyt, grabbing his M4 resting next to him. Within her a fire burned with anger and she debated what to do to him, but as he started to stir awake, she acted. She cracked Hoyt in the head with the butt of the rifle, knocking him out cold.
When both men would awake, they would find that themselves cuffed in a room besieged by a horde and the body of LeCroix in the next room rising from the dead. After luring the horde of infected to the warehouse they had held up in, Alex has made off with a rucksack filled with all the supplies, weapons, ammunition they had collected. She made her way back to the station to get a vehicle with the intentions of searching for Williams and Sarah, but she didn’t have to search far. She found them both in the back parking lot behind the station.
Sometime before their escape, Williams has been scratched by one of the infected, and now here Alex stood at the side doors to one of the Large Chevy cargo vans the department used, there wasn’t much remains beyond bone and some flesh, of the young Sarah. Her friend, MA2 Josiah Williams, was there covered in blood feasting on her remains. Her heart sunk, as he turned and looked at her, his scruffy face smothered in blood and his eyes clouded over, he reached toward her with the intentions to feast, but to Alex it looked more pitiful and almost pleading for an end to this inhuman state. She backed away as her eyes welled with tears, for here was not only a brother in arms, but one of the first friends she had made since moving here. As the tears began to roll down her cheek, she drew her pistol and took aim, hesitating befor dropping her aim in an emotional gasp, cursing softly under her breath. Recomposing herself, she raised her sidearm again and this time squeezed the trigger. In a swift motion Josiah Williams fell limp and silent. She couldn’t hold her emotions back and collapsed to the floor.

Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
- Before the Apocalypse, Alex was living her life like any normal person. It was busy being a cop at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, dealing with drunken servicemen on paydays, occasional lost tourist who'd run the gates causing a shutdown of all incoming and outgoing traffic, the never ending shortage of Police and the Civilian Gate Guards. Probably the absolute worst, would be dealing with the mediocre complaints of the Navy Wives about their neighbors dog or something.
The pay could be better, but the Job was good and she got along with most of everyone she worked with. Her long time friend and mentor was also her watch commander and for the most part life was doing fairly well, despite the woes of living in and paying the price of paradise, but this was her home. She had been born and raised here in the islands and every year she watched things change around her and the cost of living go up and the island just seemed to get more crowded. It is exactly those factors that fueled her decision to move and leave her island home.
Alex grew up in the more rural part of Oahu, and through the years observed the encroaching urbanization of the island, despite The promises from City and State Officials to protect the natural beauty of the island and the rural and agricultural communities. Opportunity came knocking when there was a mass hiring for Kitsap Naval base in a Washington state, including several sergeant positions. She put in for the Sergeant position, got good recommendations from her Captain, and passed the process, and was offered the position. The biggest move and hangs in her life was now underway.
