Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
Against his family's wishes, TJ joined the Marines right out of high school, and fought in Iraq at the Battle of Nasiriya in 2003. After 12 years in the Marines he had risen to the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was stationed at MCAS-Beaufort in South Carolina at the time of Outbreak Day.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
TJ was assigned to a helicopter assault team ordered to drop in and secure a perimeter for a FEMA camp near Ashland, Kentucky. Amid rioting and an overwhelming number of undead, TJ's team was caught in the chaos of conflicting orders and the military attacking civilian population centers. TJ went AWOL with a helicopter crew that escaped to the mountains of Tennessee where their helicopter ran out of fuel.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
TJ's path has zig-zagged across the United States, sometimes alone, sometimes settling with groups, and over the last four years he has seen as well as committed atrocities as he battles his demons and makes his way toward the West Coast. He is trying to make it "home" to Inglewood, California, to find a family he hasn't spoken to in 16 years. He knows they aren't there, but is still driven to find his way there.
