Anna leaned against a tree as blood began to ooze from her wound and drip down her arm and off her fingers, the pain alone was making her stomach turn as she pushed off the tree and stumbled a few steps forward before leaning against one a short distance further on the wooded path. "This.. This is bad.. Although.. I guess, That's life now huh?" She uttered to herself in heaves of air, each move was a struggle after the adrenaline seemed to be wearing off from the escape she had just barely succeeded at pulling off a few hours prior.
The sun had begun to rise as dew still covered the grass and leafs as Anna continued her hard trek forward as she wondered to herself. Why are you trying? You're already getting weak from what that knife did to you. Why continue? Anna didn't know why she continued to try but she did, She came to a small clearing before deciding to rest for a moment to regain some strength for the attempting to cross the open field without any tree's or rocks to lean on. "This is hopeless.. I'm just gonna lay here until.." She stopped herself short before uttering the word that she thought of every day in that place, and the places before. The places where everyone just wanted to hurt you. In all reality Anna didn't want to die at all but she just began to see that will to live as more of an instinct than a want if you will. Whatever it was, it kept her going, through all the belittlement she dished out to herself for doing so, through all the things she had done to her she could never bring herself to just lay down and die.
about thirty minutes passed as she sat against the last tree before the clearing that stood in front of her, an old tractor sat long abandoned in the center with a few hay bales scattered around. Dead spots littered the fields grassy existence where one thing or another had killed the plant life. Taking a deep breath Anna pulled tight on the piece of cloth wrapped around her cut arm, unbeknownst to her she was actually helping stop the bleeding by doing so, Anna pushed herself off the tree while her body screamed in protest as her bruises made contact with the bark of the wood. "Motherfu.." She began before biting her tongue to stifle the curse from the pain. Coming to her feet Anna began to stumble forward into the bright morning sun.
Before long she managed to reach the tractor in the center and leaned against it while holding her arm to catch her breath when she saw a man in the treeline in front of her. "Well, Guess the reaper has come." She muttered before watching the man start to make his way towards her, Anna didn't attempt to run, she knew she wouldn't get far anyway so she waited with her body propped against the tractor for the man to make his move.
