Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
-Before the outbreak Emily stood on her own to feet. Emily's older brother turned out to be a criminal. He rode with a group of outlaws who were going to get themselves shot, or thrown in jail. Emily loved her brother, but he was an idiot. He was always the overprotective type over his sister, though Emily could take care of herself. She didn't need Johnny's help to make it in this world. He would offer her money when he heard that her bills were tight and Emily would turn it down.
Emily worked as a waitress. It wasn't fancy or glamorous but it put a roof over her head. She had food on her dinner table, that's all that really mattered at the end of the day. So what if she had a tiny one bedroom apartment. She didn't care that she could only afford a couch, and that's what she slept on. She was making it off her own steam. She didn't have daddy buy her a new house. Johnny didn't swoop in with his dirty money and magically move her to easy street. Emily was happy to struggle, if it meant she was making it on her own.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
-It was late, or early. It all really depended on how you looked at it. Emily was finishing up her shift at the waffle house. Dale the man who owned the place told her he was headed home early. He wasn't feeling great. He was a little under the weather. To be honest Emily had thought he looked a little pale.
Emily: Ok Dale, have a good night.
She said as she washed a table with a wet rag. Emily didn't mind closing alone with Mauricio the cook. She was practically a manager here anyways. She did just about everything a manager would do. She was a valued trusted employee and she actually really liked Dale as a boss. He was a cool guy. Emily watched him through the window as she scrubbed the table. He coughed into his hand as he walked out to his car. He seemed to stop and look at his hand a moment. Emily stopped scrubbing and watched him, just stare at something in his hand. She didn't realize that he was looking at a palm full of blood from his cough.
Emily took off her apron and watched Dale get into his car. She threw the apron over her shoulder and sighed heavily. She heard a little jingle over the front door.
Emily: Sorry we're closed.
She said without turning her head. She watched Dale drive out of the parking lot, swerving a little. She hoped he'd be ok. Emily finally turned to the customer when she heard what sounded like a growl. Her mouth hung open. It was some homeless man who had died out in the street from exposure and hunger. He still looked hungry as he stood in the doorway. He had seen Emily through the window and leaned on the unlocked door.
That's how this walker managed to stumble in here. Emily stared at the thing. Mauricio came out and tried to kindly suggest the man screw off. He wasn't looking at the man's eyes like Emily. He didn't see the horrible bloodshot cloudy eyes that looked somehow....Wrong. Mauricio was bit on the arm and Emily screamed.... She ran away out the back door screaming for help. No help came and when she ran back inside the homeless man was eating Mauricio's face! Emily ran home as fast as she could. She didn't even go back inside for her phone.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
-If you would have asked her four years ago if she would have survived the apocalypse... She would have told you no, she probably would not. Not because she wasn't tough or smart or capable, but because she didn't have that killer instinct. She didn't have that one pressing desire to survive that came before all else, at the cost of other people's lives. Emily wanted to live, but she didn't want to compromise her convictions to do so.
Emily spent a lot of nights hungry over the last four years. She has come across abandoned supplies that was left at an unguarded camp. Emily left the food where it was and wandered of to find food of her own. She wouldn't even steal to quiet a grumbling belly. Emily was softhearted and sweet by nature. At the same time if you pissed her off she would curse you out in a heartbeat.
For the last four years Emily has kept pretty much to herself. She was self sufficient. She didn't need anyone else to survive. She could do it on her own. Emily found herself a little cabin out in the woods of Michigan and had been living there like the last years. She was really roughing it. Emily is a sweet and caring person. She doesn't always make the best choices, but her choices thus far have kept her alive. they can't be so bad right?
