Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
- Before the outbreak Mickey got on okay. He was a bright kid, but he just happened to fall into the wrong crowd. Mickey was at a street race in lower Detroit. It was there that he met Buster. Guy was classy. He had a nice car, the nicest clothes. Buster smelled sort of what Mickey thought James Bond might smell like. Mickey was only there to watch that night. He was just another spectator in the crowd when Buster approached him. Buster lit up a cigarette and asked him if he liked what he saw. Confused Mickey blinked a few times and asked him to repeat what he said. Buster explained to him that lifestyle could be his if he wanted to earn it. Buster had noticed Mickey at a lot of races. That's where Mickey found himself recruited into the Fool's Dice club.
Mickey didn't have any family to speak of. He was pretty much on his own since he was little. His dad was a drunk, worthless to the world. Mickey learned early how to take care of himself. He longed for family though. It was another reason that the bond of brotherhood of the Fool's had so captivated him. Mickey wasn't going to be worthless like his old man. He was going to make sure he wasn't making it paycheck to paycheck just hoping to make the rent and have a little left over for beer.
Mickey wasn't attracted to the danger. He wanted to have the money though, the women the cars.. All of that caught his attention. Mickey worked his way up from prospective member to full membership within the club. He earned by paying his dues to the club. The Fool's Dice was a gang of car thieves and criminals. Oddly enough, Mickey found himself enjoying the thrill a little. Mickey's day mostly consisted of riding around the city and spotting valuable cars for the group to steal. He would write down where he saw it and check it a few times to make sure it was always there. He found that this life style actually did appeal to him. Mickey had more money than he knew how to spend. It was a nice problem to have. Mickey didn't want to push up the ranks any hirer than member. The drive just wasn't there for him. Mickey enjoyed a comfortable role within The Fool's Dice club.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
-One outbreak day Mickey was driving around, like usual. He had a few spots to hit today. There were a few cars that he wanted to make sure were still parked at the airport. Mickey was a full member of the club, he didn't have to pay these dues anymore, spotting cars and marking them.. But he did it anyways because more cars equals more money right? Mickey was at the airport in the parking structure. It was a mostly quiet day up until that point.
Mickey moved along the row of cars with his hands in his jacket pockets. He looked around to make sure no one was looking. He didn't see anyone so he started breaking into the Camaro that had been sitting here for the last two weeks. Mickey wasn't the fastest at popping door locks. He really had to practice this more. He struggled unlocking the door in the empty garage. To make things worse the car alarm began to sound.
Mickey: Ah jeez...
He groaned and started to work faster. Mickey continued to work the lock a moment longer. A few cars down was a dead body. Some poor guy coming out to his beamer from the airport. Knifed in the parking lot and robbed of his wallet, phone and watch. All the security they have inside the airport and some guy can still get knifed in the parking lot? Mickey popped the lock and smiled a check mate smile at the stubborn door before slinking into the driver's seat.
Mickey: Now, let's shut off that alarm.
Mickey said pulling some wires from beneath the dash. The car alarm got the attention of the corpse. The corpse that had been lying there stood up. The sound of the alarm enticing to freshly reanimated ears. The walker moved slowly towards Mickey. Mickey sat there with one leg out of the car. He didn't even know someone was walking up. Mickey finally got the alarm to stop. He closed the door and backed up just as the walker started to approach. Mickey thought it was the car's owner and sped off. He never even got a look at the guy. His first encounter with a walker and he didn't even realize it until much, much later in the day....
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
-Life after the outbreak was tougher. It wasn't just the cops that wanted to end them now... It was pretty much everyone and everything living and dead. Mickey supposed he should be used to the odds being stacked against them. They weren't exactly the types to play it safe they rolled the dice with bad odds before. Johnny Rome was still around, so was a few other members who managed to stick out the apocalypse together. Mickey is now at the Fool's Dice Club in Detroit Michigan. Johnny Rome is leading the group. Much like he was helping lead the Fool's even before the world ended. Mickey trusts Johnny with his life.
Johnny's done a good job leading the group. Mickey does what he can to keep the group going. He uses his talents of spotting things to find supplies and other useful things to the group like food and possibly a new territory to expand to. Mickey just follows orders now. Johnny's kept them all alive this long. He doesn't see any reason to think that's going to change anytime soon.
They've weathered a few storms together. It doesn't Mickey isn't the violent type though. Even four years into the outbreak he's sick when he has to take a human life. He doesn't mind the walkers so much, he can handle the dead, but his conscience eats away at him for the people he's had to kill. Mickey is surviving in the Fool's Dice Club in Detroit with friends, people he's come to know as family. He's just waiting out the apocalypse like everyone else.
