Age:
- 17 years old
Gender:
- Female
Appearance:
- 5”1 ½ inches tall
- Doe blue-grey eyes that are always thickly lined with black eyeliner
- Brown hair with baby bangs
- Full lips, almost always glossed
- Full face of freckles
- Dimples when she pouts (which is much too often according to her mother)
- Braces
- Curvy - large assets and a small waist
- Oversized tortoiseshell glasses
- A tiny silver nose ring on the right side of her button nose which her mother outright refused to condone and so her father took her to have it pierced at a tattoo studio for her sixteenth birthday because she told him that she would do it with or without parental permission.
- Long pointed nails
Occupation (studies and job before the outbreak):
- Was studying her A-Levels: Sociology, Media and English Literature
- Worked part-time at a costume and accessory store
- Dabbled in drug-dealing, usually acting as the middle man between the big suppliers and her friends as they were too vulnerable and inexperienced to handle them.
Hometown (city, state, country):
- Birmingham, West Midlands, England
Relationships (relatives, friends,...):
- Mother – Helena Love, a passive woman working as a teacher at a primary school who stood by Alice’s side through her rebellion and emotionally charged stages of discontent and isolation. Despite them sometimes arguing and her disapproval of Alice’s life choices at times, their relationship remained one based on trust and love.
- Father – Neil Love, a hot-headed man that which means that he and his daughters’ similar natures clashed at first. He struggled to deal with her stubbornness and her rebellious nature that was intensified by her use of seduction and manipulation. However, in recent years he came to understand that her actions were entertaining and that she meant no harm. Alice appreciates his understanding and she often goes to him when she is in need of something that her mother would not approve of (for example her nose piercing) as her father is slightly more lenient now after being so hard on her for so many years when she was younger.
- Brother – Fred Love was born when she was six years old and they have been extremely close ever since. Alice always protected him from the pain and trauma of her fathers’ previously aggressive nature and for that he is grateful but also possesses a naivety to which Alice cannot relate. They have very similar stubborn and feisty tendencies but her brother is much more nonchalantly ruthless than her and lacks empathy for people that he is not close to.
- Grandmother - Her grandmother on her mothers’ side and Alice share an incredibly strong bond, probably since Alice seems to have inherited her gift of divination and spirituality that didn’t pass on to her three daughters (Alice’s mother being the middle child). All the women on her mothers’ side married men but many of their marriages ended in divorce and so that side of the family found solace in the continuity of the women in their lives. Therefore, Alice was brought up alongside a strong sense of female empowerment and the reason for her feisty nature – she is a strong woman and will not let anybody else tell her otherwise.
- Nan - Alice’s fathers’ mother is the opposite of her other grandmother. She is rational and factual and believes that everything must be either right or wrong and that there’s no in-between. She often teases Alice for her lack of rationality which can annoy her to no end and she will respond with one of her signature sassy remarks. However, despite their bickering, Alice knows that she will always be there for her if she is in need.
- Her aunt, uncle and cousin (her Father’s sister, her husband and her daughter) - Alice’s aunt, uncle and cousin on her fathers’ side do not accept her and they share a rocky relationship plagued with incessant petty arguments.
- She has lost contact with all of the above and has no idea whether they are dead or alive but chooses to believe the latter for her own piece of mind.
- Her dog – her only companion, is a large tawny male pitbull that she came across whilst travelling and named Brutus. The one malnourished dog took a liking to her after she offered it some of the beans that she had acquired and opted to follow her ever since. Not only does he keep her company, but Brutus acts as a fierce protector of Alice and guards her whilst she sleeps and viciously attacks anybody who were to compromise her safety. He is also extremely obedient and listens to every one of Alice’s commands or small hints that she may be in danger before acting on them with fierce intent.
- Brutus (left-hand side)
Weapons (currently in possession):
- She possesses a single butterfly knife and is very skilled in using it as she had been doing so as means of self defence due to her working in a city with unexpected violence lurking in dark alleyways pre-apocalypse.
Items (clothing, backpacks, first-aid kits, etc...):
- Alarmingly sheer black leggings as they are both comfortable and practical when moving around. Alice also enjoys the fact that they draw attention to her infamous rear and that they hold the attention of many males that she comes across.
- A bloodied white tank top that she wears whilst on her travels. It reveals ample amount of cleavage which is an effective distraction when she encounters male counterparts that may have ill intentions.
- A large men’s t-shirt that she acquired when she came upon an infested hotel and took refuge in an empty room complete with suitcases full of clothing that apparently belonged to a male vacationer whose whereabouts was unclear.
- A large sports-style sweatshirt that she uses to sleep in, acquired from a generous and infatuated fraternity boy that she met on her journey through an infested suburban town.
- Calf-length laced leather boots that she took when raiding an abandoned survival-gear store for supplies after the break-out.
- From the store mentioned above a small backpack equip with water tablets, basic first-aid supplies, rope, a silver heat conserving blanket and emergency powdered food.
- A gold necklace with her name on it.
- Two gold diamond rings on her right middle finger, one from her father’s mother and the other from her mother’s mother.
- Her iphone and headphones that she uses to listen to music and take photos with the various people she meets on her escapades.
- A solar-power charger that can be used to charge not only her phone but most other electrical appliances.
- Pills (Fluoxetine, Promethazine, Oxycotin, Amitriptyline).
- A pink zippo lighter with her name engraved on it that was a birthday gift from her three best friends back in England.
- Four squashed 20 decks of Marlboro Red cigarettes.
Mode of transportation:
- She primarily travels by foot but hitchhikes rides when possible.
List 3 or more good personality traits:
- Intriguingly promiscuous - One of her most questionable qualities is her ability to use her promiscuity to manipulate people, she uses it to gain what she wants and enjoys making somebody else feel as though they are in control of a situation when she is actually the one holding all the power however her confidence within her own skin and her ability to provoke a reaction from people is admirable.
- Feisty – she is forever challenging people with sassy remarks. She also has a rebellious streak, she refuses to conform and is known as a lovable rogue due to her questionable behaviour.
- Sprightly – when she is present there is never a dull moment, she is constantly rambling to people and climbing all over them to keep them occupied and focused on her.
- Imaginative – she always finds creative ways to solve problems that would have never even occurred to her companions (mainly because they involve rule-bending-escapades).
- Empathetic – highly sensitive to both her own and other people’s feelings, she can pick up on even the slightest glimmer of emotion and feel it to her very core which enables her to understand the pain of others in a unique way.
List 3 or more bad personality traits:
- Childish – her antics are often questionably immature and it is not uncommon for her to stick out her tongue or something of the like if she can’t get her way. She also tends to be smug and cannot seem to mask it when she is.
- over-dramatic – no thing is a small thing and everything provokes a loud and extravagant reaction that many find annoying or obnoxious.
- aloofness – never fully grounded, she seems to be very unaware of her immediate surroundings and her wandering thoughts lead to a lack of focus regarding her studies and now the post-apocalyptic tasks presented to her.
- Tumultuous – her mood can change in an instant due her emotions running high which means that the people around her often find themselves caught in the crossfires of her emotional turmoil.
- Whiny – moaning and whining when things go wrong or if she’s in pain or quite frankly any situation that displeases her is her speciality.
- Stubborn – she will do continue to do something, even if it’s wrong, just to make a point of doing so and if you point out that it is incorrect she will insist that you are the one in the wrong instead.
List 3 strengths:
- Extremely skilled with her knife.
- She is incredible at self-defence through hand-to-hand-combat.
- She knows exactly how to use her body and her promiscuity to get her own way and to gain the upper hand when necessary.
- She can act, she previously pursued drama and thus is able to use her skills to not only fool foes but fool the walkers into thinking that she is one of them.
- She has many skills regarding drugs and medicine, including how to prolong their uses, which things to use to treat which affliction and how to create effective medication from every day, accessible materials.
- She is extremely sensitive to her more spiritual side and will often read tarot cards to try and assess future situations. She also prides herself on her ability to read peoples auras and thus asses her reaction to them and act accordingly. Her readings are almost always accurate.
List 3 flaws:
- She is addicted to cigarettes and has been since the start of her rebellious years at age 12 and will often go to great lengths, including risking her life in order to get the cigarettes that she needs to fuel her addiction. She rationalises her smoking problem by saying that in a world full of death and destruction, it provides an escapism.
- She is reliant on antidepressants to keep her from relapsing into a depressive and PTSD-ridden existence and when she cannot access the correct medication, she sometimes turns to narcotics.
- Due to her being in tune with her spiritual side, she is often not so in tune with her real surroundings which leads to her frequently getting lost or ending up in situations that are less than desirable.
Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
- Her early childhood was painfully average aside from her acute emotional sensitivity. She was a golden-child who was constantly labelled as unstable and off-the-rails by her aunt. When she entered high school she was badly bullied both physically and emotionally. Her father, believing that escape was a form of weakness would not let her transfer and so she suffered for 3 years at the hands of a group of twisted young girls. At the age of thirteen she finally found her voice, she used it to tell her mother that if she was forced to continue attending the school in which her tormentors resided, she would surely die, if not by her own hand of exhaustion. Her mother moved her to a new, better school at once and even though new friends were made, Alice was still plagued by the memories of abuse that had torn away her confidence and her will to exist. And so, the suffering continued and Alice soon fell into a deep depression, resorting to staying inside and isolating herself from the rest of the world. To lift her mood, Alice used drugs, believing that when taking pills or inhaling powders she was temporarily fixed and that with every exhale of cigarette smoke, her self-loathing got less and less. She had lived up to her awful Aunt’s expectations of her although her parents were unaware of her use of the forbidden. Eventually, it was Alice’s mother who noticed her inner turmoil. She sought psychiatric help and after many appointments with various therapists and doctors, Alice was put on a daily-dose of anti-depressant medication. The medication along with a trusted therapist was able to teach Alice that her suffering was not a result of her being but of the people who perpetrated against her being broken. Alice found a confidence in herself and in her body that she had never experienced before and she no longer needed to regularly use drugs to keep herself afloat. She no longer hid behind baggy clothes and instead opted for revealing attire and a promiscuity that lured boys towards her like moths to a flame. She learned to use this to her advantage, and unintentionally broke many a heart with her flirtatious nature and playful antics. Her trauma and suffering also hardened her to the intentions of others and gave her an unexpectedly thick skin and confrontational nature.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
- Originally from England, Alice was on vacation with her school on a skiing trip in Lake Tahoe. The resort in which her and her classmates went into lockdown as news of the outbreak spread and Alice and her friends sat together in their hotel room waiting anxiously for information. When they heard the screams, the group went to look through the door in into the corridor only to find an infected man running rampage and tearing into the flesh of a terrified young girl. Naturally entire floor erupted into panic and rushed to find an escape route and in the sudden flood of screaming bodes, Alice lost her group and found herself among only strangers. Once outside the hotel she fled into the surrounding forest alone and planning to hide out until help inevitably arrived and she would be reunited with the other people from her school. However, morning came and help didn’t arrive and Alice was completely lost. Clad only in pyjamas and socks, she wandered through the trees until she came across a road. She waited until a vehicle came rushing past and flagged it down desperately. The driver, a fraternity boy and his pals gave her a cigarette and helped her into the rear of their truck as they explained that she could accompany them to the next city as they had been fleeing California and the ensuing chaos through the night. After being dropped off at an unknown town in hope of finding help from law enforcement or the like, Alice found that she wold have no such luck. After slaughtering three walkers that tried to attack her she drew the attention of a family who agreed to give her a ride to the next town over. And so that is how Alice decided she would get around.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
- Now, Alice and her canine companion hitch rides with fellow survivors that they come across and wander around the unfamiliar American territory in hopes of finding solace, assistance and a way to contact her family back in England. To find supplies she loots abandoned stores and houses that she frequently comes across. Although she is perfectly okay with maiming and injuring fellow survivors that she comes across, she is reluctant to kill them and has not had to do so yet.
