Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
-Before the outbreak Paige had a simple life. It wasn't flashy or fancy. Paige was the typical 'farmer's daughter.' Paige had a boyfriend. Jess, was a sweet guy, his father owned the neighboring farm. The two of them saw each other as often as they could, but mostly she had to work. There was a lot of work to be done around the farm. Especially with her father's secret crop. Weed. She learned everything there was to know about weed and helped farm it as well. She would smoke it on occasion, when she had a particularly crappy day. It wasn't like there was much else to do, living on a farm and all. Paige was happy. She liked her life before the outbreak. It was simple but it was hers. She had her father and brother. The best family you could ask for. She never got to know her mother. She died when Paige was just a baby. She had a good boyfriend, a great family. There wasn't much else you could really ask for out of life. Was there?
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
- Outbreak day started like any other day for Paige. She woke up at 5 in the morning to start getting things done. She had a lot of chores to do around the farm the same as any other day. Her father always liked her to be up extra early and so she did. Paige yawned and rolled out of bed. Her hair was still a mess from sleeping the night before as she got a shower. It wasn't long before the sun was higher in the sky and she was in the barn milking the cows. It was maybe noonish before her brother and father came to her and said they were going to take a ride into town. Paige smiled and said ok. She opted to stay back on the farm and finish her chores.
Her father and brother were going into town to sell some things and maybe get a new piece for the tractor. They did a lot of stuff themselves, but they couldn't make tractor parts on the farm. They'd have to take a ride into town for that. Paige finished her chores about time the sun was going down. She wiped the sweat from her head as she walked up the porch steps and sat down. The boards of the rickety porch creaked and groaned as she moved across them. Paige found a seat on a porch swing and just sat and watched the sun slowly disappearing over the horizon.
It was getting dark now. Paige was beginning to wonder where they were at. Shouldn't take that long to run into town. The farm was the same as it ever was. Just another peaceful evening after a hard days work. The grass was still green, the sky was still blue. Life made sense. Not in her deepest darkest dreams would she think the dead would have come back to life and started attacking people. She wasn't much for fancy city things and they didn't even own a radio on the farm. She picked up a guitar that was sitting beside the swing and absentmindedly plucked at the strings as she wondered where her father and brother were.
Paige went inside and tried using the phone in her father's room. She tried calling the Hattfield's farm next door to see if they had seen her pa or brother. She didn't get an answer. She wondered if Jesse was ok now. Paige began to really panic now as she waited.... And waited.... And waited. Days went by, those streaked out to weeks. She had food. The chickens laid eggs daily, but she had no way off the farm. Their own vehicle was her father's pick up. It was crashed in a ditch a few miles away. Her brother and father both dead inside. Outbreak day for Paige, was just the day her father and brother went missing.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
Eventually Paige left her farm. The farm was safe but she didn't know about what was happening in the world around her. She eventually did find the truck. Though the doors were both open and her father and brother had wandered away by that point. Paige got in the truck and headed into the city to look for them. She wasn't even sure where to start looking. She was just wandering around blindly hoping she'd stumble upon them. It was the best and only plan she had really.
When Paige saw her first walker she ran. She wasn't sure how to handle what she was seeing. The smell was what effected her most, she almost gagged. That creature was hideous. She was in the city looking for her father and she was almost swarmed by them. She hadn't found her father and brother. She wasn't sure if she ever would at this point. She couldn't keep looking for them in the city. It was way to dangerous. If they were in the city, they probably weren't alive anymore. It was a sad, but true fact. Paige got back in her truck and got out of the city as fast as possible. She somehow managed to make it back to her farm without leading a swarm of the dead right to her front door. Thankfully there were a few twists and turns along the way.
Paige has been living on her farm since the outbreak. Every so often she will have to take out a few walkers here and there, but the problem isn't that bad out in the rural countryside. At least it hasn't been up to this point. She has had a few heard move past her property, but she turned out the lights of her lanterns and pretended to just be another empty farmhouse, and the heard past by without much trouble. Paige has a little experience in walker killing though she is far from what you would consider a stone cold bad ass. That's what the world is filled with most now days. Badasses and stone cold killers. The same world hold Paige McCoy. A simple farmer's daughter who still to this day wonders what happened to her father and brother. A girl who is just trying to survive in this new world any way she can.
