Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
Daniel was raised in an Orphanage since her biological parents died in a car crash on the I-75 Rouge River Bridge. A Drunk driver was swerving around and collided with their car which sent the car spinning and over the edge. They died on impact when the car hit the water of the river. This happened when she was 4 years old. With no living relatives to take care of her, she was put into the custody of the State. Life wasn't easy since she had other children who was all around her in either the same reason or they were just that much of a problem to others. While growing up, she was always tinkering with things by taking them apart, looking over them all piece by piece and putting them back together. First it was chairs, tables, beds which then grew to old junk cars as the years went on. At the age of 16, she was able to take full motors, break them down and fix what was wrong with them. Some of the bad teenagers that she grew up with saw this gift and once took advantage of it. One day they came up to her and asked for her help. They proclaimed that they bought a junk of a car and the key broke off in the ignition. Daniel had agreed since she figured that they were being legit with her and truly needed her help.
So the group took her to the car which was a '85 Cadillac. When she looked it over, she opened the door and popped open the trunk. Taking out a screw driver, she put the metal of the screwdriver's neck against the alternator and fired the engine up that way. As she was dropping the hood down, the teenagers jumped into it, threw the massive car into reverse and sped off without her. It left her to walk home across Detroit back to the Orphanage with her smile thing of tools. When she gotten home, she heard word that those that were in the car that she jumped for had gotten into an accident and were arrested for Grand Theft Auto, attempt of murder with a Vehicle, driving without a license, and the list went on. In a way, she was glad that no one was killed and that people were safe, but she felt bad that she had been taken for a fool and just hung her head in shame as she went to bed without supper. She had been asked about the matter since other's had seen her with those that were now in jail. The only thing she said to them was that she went with them to help with a problem with an engine they found near the river.
Through her time through highshool, she kept up with her dream's with fixing cars and took up Automotive Repair in tech and also took First Aid as a class since she had seen a lot of death around her beloved city and figured that she could at least save one life if it was needed. Her grades were mostly A's with some B's. Her love for mechanic's was also inspired for her to get a set of matching Tattoo's on either side of her torso. It took two tattooers to do the order at the same time on her so that she didn't have to keep coming in for each of the sides. After Graduation of Highschool, she went and quickly enlisted for college to get her degrees in the field she was aiming for and she had a job in mind, the GM Plant. Throughout her senior year of school, she had worked at a small time Auto body shop in which she kept working for through her college years to support rent, food and tools with her three roommates since they all chipped in for them to rent a town home. In those four years, she had gotten good grades and experimented a bit with her Female and male roommate. But that was short lived for one day, those two room mates moved to Rhode Island. There was a note when she came home late one night and it read. "Danny Girl, We are sorry for doing this but we are moving to Jamestown after we have seen an ad for roommates needed. Please don't hate us. <3 .H" Holding the letter in her hand, she slowly sat down at the Kitchen Table and wanted to cry. Not feeling hungry anymore, she went to her room and collapsed into a deep sleep.
Shortly after College was over and she had gotten her masters for Mechanic Engineering/ Auto Body repair, her dream came true when a letter came into the mail addressed for Daniel Robinson and it was sent from the GM Plant near Belle Isle. Her application for employment was looked over and was accepted. Quitting her old job, she went that same day to the GM plant where she was to work on the Truck Assembly line. for two years, they pushed her to her limits as she was one of the few women in the truck assembly line by her coworkers. But whenever they tried to make her break, she pushed through and worked twice as harder then the guys. In the years she worked at the Plant, Daniel was able to purchase a house for herself and a Ram 5500 Work truck. But the bad thing about the area she now lived in was that it was a hot spot for criminal activity. After work one day, she went to the local gun shop and bought herself a 16 gauge shotgun and a .380 handgun. The shotgun was to be used as the home defense while the .380 was to be with her while she was on the road in her heavy duty truck.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
On the day of the outbreak was Daniel's day off and she was nursing a hang over from the partying she had been doing the night before at a night club. So she had been in bed all day with her handgun under her pillow and her shotgun propped up against her nightstand. At around 5:00 pm is when she woke to the sounds of heavy gun fire and people yelling. Her hand slid under the pillow and grabbed the handgun as she stood up and walked over to her window. Peeking out of the blinds slightly, she was watching something that her brain didn't want to comprehend with. Her eyes were looking at people eating other people as they were getting shot at. Bullets didn't seem to phase those that were hungry. But once she saw one get hit in the head and it's body just fell over. But one thing she did realize was that her truck wasn't out front like it usually was. Grabbing the shotgun, she hurried around the house, looking out the windows until she saw that her truck was out back since she had taken a few back alley ways and went through a fence where it was parked. "Huh...wild night I guess..." She had said to herself as she looked at the truck which only had a few scrapes from the wooden fence she had plowed through. Rushing through her home, she gathered all of her things and placed it into the living room. Her plan was simple, hunker down until everything just blew over. But as time will have it, it wasn't going to be that easy as she was hoping for.
As the gun shots dwindled down to a near silence, the only thing that it was replaced was the sounds of flesh being ripped apart and the growling sounds of the dead as they moved about around her area. Hours then became days, days turned into weeks and then weeks turned into agonizing months. The power went out after month three and her food was going down, even when she tried to limit her eating to two times a day. With how the world was going, she knew that it was only going to be a matter of time before she had to get out of her home and start looking for things to survive. Grabbing her weapons and her Entry utility tool, she was about to open the front door when she saw and heard the door knob being tried to be turned. Sliding the 2 and a half foot long tool in through her belt and backing away from it, she raised her shotgun up and that's when the door was kicked open and she was pointing the gun at a former friend of her's. Her third roommate. But she looked crazed as she held a bloody crowbar. Seeing it didn't help matters for Daniel as she tried to comfort her former friend into dropping the crowbar. But, instead of doing the logical thing, she ended up charging at Daniel and Daniel squeezing the trigger. Her body went flying backwards because of the 16 gauge pellets hitting the body, causing blood to spray and splatter the area in which she forced herself into the house that Daniel lived in. Since this was her first time killing someone *even if it was in self defense*, Daniel felt her stomach to turn and tighten. Quickly moving to the back door, she opened it wide and spewed up the contents of her stomach across the ground below her.
Once the sickening feeling was over with, she forced herself up to her feet and went inside. Her safety was tampered with and she needed to move. Her home was now not safe anymore. Grabbing all of her things, she threw it into the back of the truck -except for her firearms and ammo for each of them- and jumped inside of the cab. Putting the key in, and turned on the ignition for it. Once the heavy Cummings engine fired up, she tore out of the area like a bat out of hell. Daniel never knew what true Terror felt like until that day where she shot and killed a person she once called a friend whose body was now spilling out blood all over the carpet of her now once upon a time home. Tears streamed down her face as her body shook from the dread and terror she was victim to as she frantically looked for places she could hold up in for a while. When the sun was starting to set down in the west, she saw that her time frame was going down fast and needed to hide. So, she went to a shopping mall which in her mind was a bad idea. So she stayed in the parking garage of the mall until sun came up and she was to go and move on from this area. So she thought...
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
Like most people who are still alive or was, she was trying to make everyday count by going from place to place to hide in and take shelter. Without heat from heaters or furnaces, winters were cold and harsh to her. Daniel was driving through Detroit by the river while she saw snow coming down. It was the winter before a year has went by. The young mechanic had taken fuel from a gas station that was near the edge of the city. As she drove, she saw from the mirrors a couple of vehicles driving up on her. Looking at them carefully, she slowly applied her foot further down onto the pedal and that's when she saw her side mirror had taken a bullet from one of the vehicles. More rounds were fired towards her as she shifted as fast as she could to try and get distance between herself and the handful of bandits that were on her tail. As she drove, her eyes widened when she saw a few humvee's driving towards her. Turning off towards the shoulder of the road, the car's that chased her quickly slammed on the brakes as they fired upon the military vehicles, which wasn't the brightest of moves. The two leading humvee's opened up with there machine guns, tearing the car's in a torrent of heavy gun fire. Daniel watched as the car's were ripped apart and eventually, the one car blew up and her eyes were wide. This is when she met Ms. Sarah Sharpe. Her and her team came out of the vehicles and moved upon Daniel's truck.
They both introduced each other and explained about what they have been through in the time of the outbreak. Daniel was asked to follow them if she wanted a place to stay. Doing so was the smartest move on her part for Belle Isle was going to be her home. She was checked out in what was going to be medical by the staff she had there. For the next few years, Daniel would be trained more in the medical field and was a Belle Isle Angel. She went out on scouting trips with other group members so that they had someone to help treat injuries. But after two years, here and the other medic that is there, Hannah, would caused pranks and crack off jokes towards others. Sarah decided that it would be in the best of interest that Daniel was to be separated from the medical area and was put into the Mechanical area since they only had a couple of mechanics to begin with. Daniel was the person now behind the scenes of keeping the vehicles at the Island in tip top shape by repairing, changing fluids and if she had to, butcher one vehicle that was completely broken and just used it's parts for others.
Currently, she was asked by Sarah Sharpe to be part of Commander Smull's Relief team for they would need a person who is trained in both Mechanic's and Medically. It was logical since Daniel was a two for the price of one. When word came that Chris. was injured from battle at the airport, it only sparked a torrent of worry for Daniel since both Kate and Chris are her friends. So the team went out so that the previous team could head back. Her and Damen went into the Terminal building at the Coleman Airport. At first, it looked clear of people and the dead. But...that was soon to change as they encountered waves of the dead which at first, her and Damen repelled with heavy gunfire and killed what dead came after them from the one 747 jumbo jet. Moving further, she opened a set of doors and was surprised when a survivor looked just as shocked as she was and plowed through Daniel which caused her to fell. Being ordered now to head over and help the rest of the team, she hurried as fast as she could and saw that the other two members of her team was being attacked by a massive wave of the dead. Joining them, she began to open fire with her shotgun and switching out with her handgun to try and help out. Reloading as fast as she could, she began to open fire again until she noticed that Someone Else was shooting through the windows, trying to help cut down the dead...this is where we pick up on Daniel's story.
