Avatar Photo: Please provide the name of the model/actor here
- Gaspard Ulliel
Age:
- 29
Gender:
- Male
Appearance:
- Léon stands at a rather tall 6'1. He is a relatively skinny and lightly built man, with some very typically French features. His relatively long hair is a very dark brown, almost black. He sports a well trimmed moustache which he takes care to keep up whenever he has the time. Have to look dapper after all, even after the whole world has gone to hell. He still looks relatively young, but, time has started to chip away at that a little, with a few wrinkles starting to show, not to mention a few small scars and imperfections from the rigours of post apocalyptic living.
He tends to have a fairly well put together appearance, wearing relatively smart and fashionable clothing mixed with practical apocalyptic survival equipment. His typical day to day outfit consists of a black relatively long jacket with a subtle fluer de lis pattern lining and plenty of pockets typically worn open, underneath which is a relatively compact flak jacket worn over the top of a white T-shirt.
On his legs are a pair of dark brown cargo pants with big pockets in order to store more things. He also typically has a dark grey messenger bag with him to store various supplies when out and about, typically slung over his back to keep it out of the way.
Around his neck is a long light blue scarf, seemingly there to billow somewhat dramatically in the wind, but he also sometimes wraps it around the lower part of his face if he needs to. He wears some practical but nice looking hiking boots with steel toecaps, again in dark colours. Upon his wrist is an old 1980s style gold coloured calculator watch with a red LED display, for a bit of that retro chic.
(I know nothing about fashion, hopefully this dude is swanky enough. I think his look is a little cyberpunk, but, hey, guess a sort of retro futurist vibe's his sort of thing.)

List 3 or more good personality traits:
- Loyal: Once you're friends with Léon, you're pretty much a friend for life. The man will have your back through thick and thin.
-
- Tactful: Léon knows how to approach things in a more tactful diplomatic way.
-
- Suave: In spades. Léon can be as smooth as silk, especially with the ladies. The accent helps.
List 3 or more bad personality traits:
- Smug: Especially when proven right, Léon Rainier usually has a slight air of smug superiority about him.
- Arrogant: There are a lot of jokes one could make about arrogant Frenchmen. A lot of them would be very valid with Léon in mind.
- Workaholic: Léon can often become fixated and borderline obsessed when designing or making a big project, spending hours alone working on it or just straight up thinking about it.
List 3 strengths:
- Agile: Parkour, the national sport of France, was a hobby of his. He's still got it.
-
- Sharp senses: Good hearing, good eyesight, good everything. Léon's very perceptive.
-
- Tailor: While he was a fashion designer rather than a tailor he certainly knows how to work a needle and thread. Not only can he make clothing and even body armour, he can make something that looks damn good.
List 3 flaws:
- Hayfever: Léon has a relatively minor pollen allergy causing sneezing and itchy eyes at times.
-
- Squeamish: At least a little. Léon's not exactly a fan of getting covered in blood and gore.
-
- Language barrier: While he can speak English okay, he is not perfectly fluent. Léon can often find himself not being able to find the right word in English, or stumble over a pronunciation. He also has a heavy French accent.
Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
- Léon was an up and coming fashion designer in Paris, France. He originally worked out of his father's failing tailor shop, successfully revitalising the business with his new fashion lines which soon became the talk of the local area and netted the Rainier family quite the profit. His attempts to expand the business were only met with moderate success though, with only small showings at small fashion shows around Europe. However, just before the apocalypse hit, he had a big opportunity. Detroit. While the city was more or less in ruins, it was slowly starting to recover its status as "motown", and had put on a massive expo of fashion designers and their products from all over the world.
Despite Detroit's reputation, breaking into the US market was just too big an opportunity for Léon to miss as he took his flight and looked around the American city nervously. Little did he know that it was not the living he had to worry about while there, rather, the dead.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
- It was day two of the big expo, with experts coming in from all around the world. Léon by this point was starting to get a little more comfortable. The place wasn't as bad as he had initially thought. Sure, there were low income areas falling apart due to urban decay, but, he had no need to go anywhere near them. After all, the expo was being held in the somewhat swankier parts of town.
However, just when he was getting settled in, the panic hit. Detroit quickly turned into an absolute warzone as chaos gripped the city while the dead decided that they were not too happy with the concept of an "eternal rest". The expo centre was quickly swamped by walkers, and Léon during the carnage managed to escape, defending himself with a broken champagne bottle of all things. His first priority was to escape the area and get outside the city limits, unfortunately many others also had similar ideas, leaving him stuck inside the city.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
- From there, Léon's focus was almost purely on survival, especially in the first year. Being near a city of all places had both good and bad. The good, was easy access to resources other scavengers may have missed, the bad? Well, there be zombies. However, after the first year he decided to put his business talents to good use, becoming a trader. He bartered for pretty much all different kinds of goods, trading weaponry for food and water, finding things for people, etc. Again, he became fairly successful.
However, not all deals went so smoothly. And that is where Léon's story begins, on a deal gone bad, client dead, horde of walkers nearby and the tough decision on whether to run, or push onwards through them to find what he needs.
