Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
- Regina was the eldest child of two military officers. Her mother and father served for a number of years and were quite high up in military rank. All Regina knew was military life. She lived on military bases or in town not far from them. She was never in school for longer than a few months before she was to pack up and move on again.
A year after her eldest sister was born her dad Declined a job offer to move. With his wife pregnant with another child he wanted to stay and see through the birth of the child here. This was the longest place Regina had stayed. She was finally able to make friends and get close to people. She was just finishing Highschool at the time, in her final year.
She met a girl and fell for her. The two were close, sneaking off to have fun and get in trouble. Eventually her dad caught what she was doing. He was angry and forbid her from seeing the girl. Regina only acted out, dropping out of school and threantning to run away. So her father did what he thought was best.
He packed his family up and moved across the country, far away from the girl Regina was with as they could be. Regina got angry and threw a fit. It resulted in throwing objects and getting kicked out of the house.
She lived on the steeets of this new place for a month. Her mother eventually brought her back and her dad gave her the option of go to school or join the military. With no Highschool education she couldn't continue school. So ultimately it was join the army or live on the streets. She joined up, her father helping her along the way.
Up until the outbreak Regina served in the military. She made a few friends over seas and kept close to her family. She watched her sister's age and her mother retire.
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
- Regina was sent along with a few other soldiers to protect over a college from the riots. She spent the night on a mounted gun of a humvee. She luckily didn't have to use it. One of the other soldiers found a case of beer. They passed it around and watched the fires in the distance. She was restless, hearing repotports of the dead. She wanted to see one herself, get some action in.
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
- Regina spent the next day watching over the people at the school. There was only a small handful of people. Some pulled their weight but most just relied on the soldiers protecting them. Their reports were to stay, so Regina stayed. A week in she managed to sneak off and find a SAT phone. She called her Dad and managed to get through.
Where he was stationed was attacked. The dead came in high numbers. The brought down the fences and swarmed the base. Her sisters and mothers had all gone down, but her dad was still alive. Regina wanted to go get him. But her dad ordered her to stay. He wanted to her to keep these people safe, and he would find her.
So Regina did. She pulled long shifts and kept up with the reports. She'd send report after repor to the higher up. When orders stopped she stayed. Slowly the other officers left one by one to find their families. Regina stayed, trying to reach her Dad asking to leave again. She only got the response of another officer telling her that her dad was coming to North Carolina. That she was to keep watch and protect these civilians.
She did. She stayed along with two other officers. They didn't have anything, didn't have a reason to join or leave. Her father was coming for her, and she had to be ready for him. She mourned her families death already, she couldn't mourn her father's as well. So she stayed, loaded her gun and kept them safe.
When it came time to push to leave she was agasint it. She didn't want to leave. Her dad knew she was here, knew where to find her. So she stayed put. She knew this was the best chance of survival. They were running out of food slowly, but could make it. They stayed for a little bit longer, drying up resources in the area.
Eventually they were forced to leave. She kept with them, protecting them and helping train a few who were willing to fight. Over the four years she grew close to the members. She still hoped her dad was alive, and that they would run in to him. But she was doubtful she would see him again. She knew better than to dream.
These people were her family now. They were there to protect her and her them. She stayed with them, growing closer to one of the girls there. They shared a night and nothing more. Eventually they found SunnyDale, a small bible camp in the woods. The people took them in and she was put on guard duty. Her along with another officer were the only source of protection for these people now.
But she had to stay with them, that was her orders. But more than that. They were her family.
