Describe your character's life before the Apocalypse:
Growing up in South Baltimore, Stephanie grew up in awe of some of Federal Hill's more disreputable characters but soon came to realize that she was very much capable of walking both sides of the street. To that end, Stephanie spent over a decade honing her craft as a stick-up artist in the neighborhoods of South and SW Baltimore, in particular robbing drug dealers of their goods and money - and in turn, pocketing the money and selling the drugs back to the dealers' supplier...occasionally, her chosen profession also meant being an involuntary guest of Baltimore City's finest accommodations, something which came with the game. It was over the course of this time that Stephanie honed her own moral code, namely don't harm anyone involved in the drug game; everyone else, though, was fair game....
What happened to your character on Outbreak Day?:
It began like any other; Stephanie had stepped outside her South Bawlmer rowhouse to walk to the corner deli when everything seemingly went to hell in the proverbial handbasket - people screaming and running for their lives, the undead clawing and biting at people, the authorities losing control of everything. Running back to her rowhouse, she found to her horror that her girlfriend Rachel had been bitten and that she had turned; Stephanie defended herself, killing both her lover and the walker that had broke inside and bitten Rachel before deciding to leave the city, though not before grabbing a bottle of lighter fluid and dousing most of the house w/it - including the bodies of the walker and Rachel. Making sure her weapons and a backpack were safely by the door, she grabbed a lighter, flicked it on, threw it onto a puddle of lighter fluid and left the rowhouse for wherever the road would take her...
Describe your character's life after the Apocalypse:
Though thin for most of her life - growing up, her classmates occasionally called her 'String Bean' due to her thin frame - the post-apocalyptic world was rough for a while, nearly starving to death on a few occasions. Stephanie kept going, however, using the same skills she'd honed back in Baltimore to take whatever she could find, adhering to her moral code as she took things one day at a time. Every so often, she'd hook up with a group, staying for a time with them before moving down the road once again and offering her services as a post-Outbreak gun-for-hire. All throughout the post-Outbreak world, Stephanie never stopped learning; whenever she;d enter a new town, she'd always grab a few books and read them from cover-to-cover, keeping her mind busy when things got rough. At present, Stephanie is somewhere in the Eastern U.S., continuing to travel down the road, taking things one day at a time....
