Kate chuckled a bit and slightly blushed at Simon his compliments. “Thanks.” She replied. After that Simon got out of the car and Katelyn drove inside of the garage, he closed the doors behind the car. Kate shut down the engine and got out of the car, she looked around to check if the place was secure or not and noticed Simon doing the same.
While Simon walked around, Kate searched for the place, to see if there was something useful, but so far nothing. A couple minutes later Kate her attention was drawn to a sudden light, as she looked over her shoulder she saw Simon made a fire. It made her smile, the poor guy was hurt and had a near death experience but still took care of her. Again point proven how alike they were. The fire slowly warmed up the place and Simon seemed to slowly let her cold heart melt.
Cause Kate decided after losing her last group, that she wouldn’t be with a new one or a person for that matter, but look at where it got her and even though she promised herself to leave him as soon as he was healed up, she felt how her feelings where struggling inside. Simon was still a stranger, but they seemed to have this click, and shared a lot of things, both wanting to help people, both lost a lot and so on.
Kate walked back into the room, where she spotted the fire, it was visible through the open door, while Simon went to grab the blankets. She watched him come in, while she leaned against the desk and took off her jacket. Kate looked at Simon as he explained that they got enough stuff to keep the place warm for a couple of days. She also placed her weapons on the desk next to Simon his, it was only fair since he did it too. She chuckled as he said that he hoped she didn’t had a curfew. “I’m all by myself, so I decide where I go and when I go.” She smiled while noticing his wink. “Actually, I was all by myself, until I ran into you.” She added winking back at him. "Also, thanks for takign care of the heat, that's kind." she spoke smiling.
She nodded as Simon asked her to tell some more about herself. “If you are interested I will.” She replied smiling. It was then she noticed how soaking wet his clothes were, hers where protected by her jacket, well the upper part, but she would have to switch pants too. But for Simon it was way more important, he had been outside for that long and he needed heat. “Euhm, before I continue, I need to ask something weird.” She said with a chuckle. “But I think I need you to take off your clothes.” She added. “Cause staying in those wet things, you are going to get sick, I need to get you through this.” She spoke, a little more serious but still giving him a warm smile. “Think I have some wide clothing in my backpack, like a sweatpants and hoody, pretty sure it fits.” She explained. “Oh and don’t try to talk me out of it, you need fresh clothing, while yours dry.” She added.
Then she walked out of the room, got her backpack out the car and walked back in. “When you are done, I’ll talk about me.” Kate said smiling. “Again if you are interested.” She added while getting the clothes out of her backpack. “I have spare socks, a hoody and the sweatpants.” She spoke handing the clothing to him. “Have underwear too, but euhm, how shall I put it, think it might be a little tight, your choice.” She spoke laughing a little. “There, guess I’ll wait outside, just hurry cause it’s cold.” She spoke. “Or do you need help?” she joked. It was funny how comfortable it felt to be around Simon, she was already joking and stuff, it was weird, but Kate believed in things like ‘it was meant to be’ it was silly but she did. Maybe she was mistaken to let her guard down, but being so alone, made her lonely, so she appreciated the company, even though she swore never to let team up with someone.
Simon looked down at his soaked clothing again and chuckled a bit. Listening to her, he would watch her as he had a weak smile on his face. It was shown that she was being modest at offering to leave the room so that he could change. Looking at the glass on both the one window and the door, he saw they had no curtains or shades to block out the view of his bare body when it came down to stripping. Shaking his head, he said to her. "I thank you for being modest, but I would rather have you be in here where it's warm then to stand out there to freeze. Plus, there is nothing on the glass over there that would stop you from peeking in on me. Ha ha ha." He said as he laughed a bit. Standing up, he took his wet t-shirt off and placed it close to the now make shift burn barrel. Flexing his fingers a bit, he would kneel down and untie his boots. Once done, he placed both of them with the wet socks by the can as well. Standing up, he walked back over towards the desk where the dry clothing was that she offered to him. Undoing his pants and turning around so that his back was towards her, Simon wiggled his hips from side to side as he pushed both his pants and boxers down to the floor. Kicking over to the rest of the clothing, he quickly made haste in putting the spare set of clothing on.
It was warm being in the fresh clothing, but the one thing he did not put on was the socks. Grabbing one of the rolling chairs, he wheeled it over to the can and sat by it with his injured hand up slightly to warm it up again. "You can look now. I'm dressed. And yes, I would love to know about my savior." He said with a wink at the end of the statement. A warm feeling came over him as he watched her. Odd in nature since he only felt like this towards one other person and she was dead. His eyes drifted towards his bag. Reaching over to it, he pulled it to him and began to unzip it. Pulling out the contents of it, he set down four MRE's, three bottles of water, a wet stone for sharpening knives, his wallet which fell to the ground and opened that had pictures of him when he was younger, two forks and a handful of flares that were used for when there was a car accident. There was also the box of ammo for both the shotgun he had found, his ammo for his revolver on his belt and a box of ammo for his 30-30 rifle. Picking up the one MRE, he would hand it to Katelyn along with a fork and a bottle of water. On her package it read, 'Meat Loaf with Gravy, Mashed Potatoes and Shortbread cookies'. "Might as well get something in our stomachs while we sit and wait here." Picking up his, his read 'Chili and Macaroni, Powder Cheese mix and two crackers.'
Ripping the top of the package open, he would move all the contents out of it and would begin to put the water in first. Then begin to place the different food items inside of it. Setting it on the floor, propped up against his boots, he would fold his hands onto his stomach and watch her with a smile still. He had to admit, she was very cute looking and that they were getting along, was only a plus in his books.
