Labor was intensely painful and it was a reminder of the pain and torment that got her into this mess. By the next morning, the stranger that had appeared left and Branden went to search for Jace and Jill who never returned. The morning sun came through window shades and hit her face as she woke. Surrounded by pillows on the bed and wrapped in a blanket she found the small sleeping baby girl that she had gone through so much pain to get. Jess wasn't sure how she felt about this right now because she just wasn't sure if she even wanted this kid.
It had darker skin than hers and she favored her father tremendously. As she slowly sat up and looked around she noticed she was in a different room than last night. Hell, she was so tired she probably could've had a kidney removed and slept through it. No surprise she didn't really remember moving into another apartment apparently. As she shuffled off the bed wearing some baggy clothing that seemed to belong to a guy. Shorts and an old faded t-shirt that was extremely comfortable. Taking a glance back she saw the child still sleeping and she quietly opened the door.
quietly and slowly she moved down the hall until she found the living room. Jack was asleep on the couch and she leaned in the doorway and smiled. Such a sweet guy and even though he was a bit of a hard ass she knew his heart was in the right place. Careful to not make noise she slipped past him and slid the glass door open. Stepping onto the balcony her eyes stared out over the ocean. The smell of the salty air filled her nose and for once she felt at home. This was something she had missed about Cali.
