"Ouch! Goddammit, son of a...!" Charlie yelled when the doctor grabbed her ear. The guy was lucky he was a doctor, and she knew better than to attack those that can save your life.
She shook loose and straightened her hair back, clearly annoyed. Part of her wanted to go in and kill the prisoners; they had caused enough suffering.
"Don't fucking do that again ya prick!" Charlie said. "Or so help me your patients won't get through the night! Executing them all is still on the table! It's what we should've done to begin with!"
She straightened her jacket back and locked her handgun back in its holster.
"Just dealing with a traitor." Charlie said. "Don't like it, take it up with Ellen! But I know what she's gonna tell ya!"
Mia could not believe Andrei had just grabbed their ears like some old school nun and drug them out of the tent. She rubbed her ear and stared at him while Charlie cursed and gave her side. She shook her head,"that is exactly the shitty attitude that started this whole mess." Mia watched Nate walking away, and felt how wrong she thought this whole thing was. "Doc,do something! This isn't right. Nate didn't do anything wrong!" She looked at Andrei," for god's sake, she wants to put a bullet in the man we just spent the better part of two hours saving!"
"I wasn't there and am glad I wasn't ,but damn Charlie,to give someone ten minutes to get the hell out is insane." She shook her head," the dad,Mac, he is alright ,he didn't come to get checked,so he is five by five, then why all this?" Mia had a feeling Ellen was letting her emotions take control,"what about the council, isn't this kinda thing supposed to be cleared with them?'
Mia paced a bit, not sure what to do exactly,"i mean all of the group that went out from here seem fine, kinda a one sided fight." She threw hands up,"this shit is wrong!"

"Whoa, whoa, ladies! Chill!" he got between the two before things got too heated, but Charlie's words got to him. His gaze turned towards her, but his messy hair covered the left part of his face and eye. His tone shifted to something neither had heard before, and the look in his eyes had something dark hidden deeply.
"Listen carefully, lass, because I'm going to say this once. Do not presume to play games with me. And next time you dare to threaten my patients, you'd better have a gun pointed at their heads." the overall way he spoke and looked made it clear. There was more to him than met the eye. Something dark and sinister was behind the helping doctor. He continued speaking in a tone closer to what was normal for him. "I intend to take it up with Ellen. You may leave, if you so desire."
Once Mia had finished speaking he moved back to his original position, facing the two. "Tell me what happened. Between the surgery and this, I didn't have time to get the facts. From what I understood, you people surrounded them, Ellen had a sniper, shot the guy and Charlie shot and beat the lass, but that's it."
Charlie felt a headache coming up. How many times was she going to have to explain what happened? And why would it matter anyway? People just heard what they wanted to hear anyway. The doctor had a vague idea but somehow everybody seemed hellbend on believing they shot the intruders for no good reason.
Charlie sighed in an annoyed way. She bended her neck backward and looked up at the sky.
"How many times...!" Charlie said. "Okay so we went in with an overwhelming force, and sent mister McA. as a negotiator okay? Mister McA. tried to convince the intruders that we meant no harm several times and asked them not once, not twice, not thrice but four fuckin' times to drop their weapons to ensure everybody's safety. They refused profoundly and even though mister McA. warned them that a sniper was aiming at them as well, they still thought it to be a good idea to run around as though nobody had a friggin' gun on them. Given, the guy that got gutshot dropped his weapon but after he got in front of one of the dumbasses that wouldn't drop it, and then made a brusque movement towards mister McA., Ellen shot his ass. For all she knew he could've grabbed the dumbass' gun and shot mister McA.! So yeah, can we really blame Ellen for trying to protect her father? I think not!"
Charlie took a deep breath. Unfortunately the story wasn't over yet.
"So there we were right, me and fifteen of my guards; guns drawn." Charlie continued. "And still that pale-skinned bitch whose face I rearranged thought it was a good idea to get out her gun and start shooting, first at mister McA., then at us. So Ellen shot her ass as well! So me, being a beacon of altruism, I decided to attack her and give her some homemade plastic surgery instead of ordering my squad to fire and kill everyone! Seeing as the bitch was already telling her cronies to fight back, I'd like to think that by bashing her face in I prevented worse from happening. And believe you me, at this point I REALLY regret not just ordering my squad to fire. Would've saved us a fuckton of medical supplies!"
Charlie sighed again. She hoped this was the last time she had to tell this story.
"Now was there anything else or do I have to draw it this time!?"
Mia stood there and listened. She now understood what Nate was so upset about. She folded her arms and glared at Charlie," oh,keep going, tell him all about what you did to Nate. Right now, i can see why you re pissed with this group, but Nate was one of us and I still think what you are doing to him is wrong. Kicking him out with only ten damn minutes ,just because he wouldn't shoot unarmed men! Come on, that's just wrong. Half the people here wouldn't have done it either and you know it!" Mia looked at Andrei, wanting to see his reaction to all this.
Dannie started to wake up as the throb from her shoulder continued to plague her. She heard the barking from the hound dog outside as she told her perception of what happened. Her head was starting to hurt from the pounding her face took from the bulldog whose voice sounded like concrete scraping against concrete. She heard Mia the nurse and she had no idea who else was out there. She suspected if she spoke up the bulldog would come back and give her another unjust beating, but if that were to happen, these people would see the psycho for what she really was.
She spoke, but she wasn't even sure they would here.
"That ain't all the truth. We ran out of the cabin because the roof was starting to collapse. Next thing we know, we're being told to drop our weapons and we were surrounded by guns. Some guy, Mark or Mack or something like that kept telling us to drop our guns. He never said we weren't going to get hurt. He never said he came in peace. He said he disabled our patrol cars so we couldn't get away."
She sighed and leaned her head back. Damn she wanted to get out of here.
"We holstered our guns. At least, me and Sterling did and that's when they shot him. I shot back because I have no idea who or what you people are. All I know is a couple of wanna-be army colonel college girls were in my face from that moment on. If you have someone who can really negotiate, then send them in to talk. All we want to do is leave."

Andrei let Charlie say what she had to say, and it was obvious to him she had to work a bit on keeping her emotions in check. But who could blame her? She had to repeat the same story tens of times already. Before he could say there was nothing else, Mia intervened, saying something about Nate and unarmed men. Dan opened his mouth to inquire about it when the wounded woman saw it fit to intervene from inside the tent.
"Oy, put a lid on it! I'll get to you in a minute. Now cut the chatter and wait your turn!" he replied to her, before she could finish her sentences.
"Now, what was that about Nate and shooting unarmed men?" he asked Charlie. If it was what he thought it was, him and Ellen were going to have some problems.
