Buster pulled the car over about 20 miles away from Nelson and his freaks. The car idled in the empty parking lot of a Chuckie Cheese. It wasn't so much where they were it was the fact that they were alone, secluded and most importantly.... Free. Buster turned off the car and leaned back in the seat. He was sure that they hadn't been followed. He was checking that shit compulsively. He wanted to make sure that Nelson didn't send spies to track them, keep tabs on them or generally see if they led them anywhere. He hadn't. True to his word Nelson had let them go. He did however have one of his radios inside the car that Buster escaped with. Buster wasn't aware of the radio. Wasn't aware of anything other than his hands were sweating and he was alone with his wife for the first time in so long. Buster looked over at Taylor. she seemed to be sleeping, or maybe she just had her eyes closed. He wasn't sure. She looked to still be in pain. Buster reached in the pocket of his jacket and got some heavy painkillers out. Swiped from the medics when Julie forced him to get himself checked out. Right before the big meeting between Nelson and Sarah Lyell. The medical building was full of all kinds of shit. And he probably could have swiped something to treat for infection and fever too if he knew what the fuck he was doing. But Oxycodone. You don't have to be a doctor to know those are "fuck you up drugs" And Taylor needed a little something to fuck her up and take away the pain. Buster pulled the pills from his pocket and looked at them. He hated that she was in so much pain. But he had to get her inside. It was winter. It was cold as fuck out and the cold wasn't doing her body any favors. It was bad enough he had to worry about a gunshot, he didn't need to worry about hyperthermia too. The car had taken them as far as they could go before hitting empty and he saw that coming that's why he pulled into this empty lot. He couldn't even run the heat in this piece of shit cus it didn't work. Buster got out of the car and hurried over to her side and opened the door. Buster crouched beside the door and gently shook her to wake her. The concern in his voice was apparent. He never thought of himself as the marrying type, but he didn't want to be a widower.
Buster: Come on doll we gotta get you inside.
Buster didn't know that Nelson was conducting an experiment on them. A social experiment. He didn't know jack shit. All he knew was that he had to get Taylor inside and start working on boring this place up.
