It took a good long while to get out to the trailer park, get the trailers picked out, hitched up and drive back to the property. It certainly took longer to get back then it did to get out there. She had to move slower and drive more carefully considering the roads were still a little slick from the heavy downpour the night before.
When she finally got to the driveway, she turned the wheel hard and slowly pulled in, barely clearing some branches that scraped against the mobile home on the back of the truck. She wasn't even sure where she was supposed to park the trailer on the property but there was enough room. She knew it would just junk up the property, but property values were pretty much zero right now.
As she drove in, she considered honking the horn to capture the attention of others until she recalled the anger Arden threw at his own sister for killing a few walkers with her gun that morning. She figured the set up was big enough for anyone to see at the house. She knew Owen, Damon and Daisy would be behind her at some point even though she got the lead before they had even hooked up the other trailers. Owen seemed to know exactly what he was doing.
Finally, she found the space to park the trailer with the doors facing towards the house, for safety and slowly she started to park it in place. The beeping of the truck backing up would be a dead giveaway to get their attentions until she finally shut the engine off. Across the lawn she saw Remy, Jasper and Ellie sitting there with the fire burning. She hoped they were cooking something but by the looks of it, they were just sitting there joking around.
"Hey! You three! Get over here and help me out!" She would follow Owen's lead, backtracking the steps they used to unhitch the trailer to set it into the ground and attempt to stabilize it. She had a feeling Remy and the new guy would have no idea how to anchor a trailer...hell, she barely knew how to do it also, but they could start and Owen, Damon and Arden could finish it up.
"Where's that cop? Get him over here too. The more the merrier!" She got out of the truck and started to turn the jack, releasing the trailer from the back and working to make sure the trailer didn't tip over with the first wind or storm of the winter. At least it was a place for them to stay, even if it wasn't very warm. They could make another run for supplies. With any luck, some of them still had the linens in tact.
